I even offered to show documentation for my service dog, and his response was basically, "I'll get the owner and you can talk to him." At that point, the vibe had gone from "not very welcoming" to "we clearly don't want you people in here." I can't know what was going through his head, but the way he looked at us, spoke to us, and reacted to a simple request came across as genuinely prejudiced and discriminatory--not just rude customer service. Maybe we didn't fit the preferred 5th Avenue Grille aesthetic after eight hours on the road. Sorry, I forgot to pack my dinner blazer in the camper van. We decided to leave rather than spend money somewhere that made us feel unwelcome before we even sat down. Food might be great. We'll never know.
