The location is phenomenal. It's right in the heart of downtown Winters right on the Main Street. The whole town is so picturesque and unique. It's across from other restaurants and shops. It is also adjacent to a park. There is plenty of free street parking nearby so you shouldn't have an issue finding a spot. The service was amazing. Our server came by multiple times to ensure we were satisfied. Being our first time here, we got what she recommended. And she was right! There are no bad items on the menu. Our food came out relatively quickly even though we were in a larger group. The burger was absolutely massive. It had to have been at least 2 lbs. The taste was packed with flavor and so juicy. I could taste every ingredient in the burger. Words cannot adequately describe how excellent this burger was. The French dip was also very solid. The sauce was so good that I literally drank it. It paired well with the fries. The cookie was a bit on the harder side but still pretty tasty, maybe would have been better warmed up. The prices are about average for 2026. I'd say expect to walk out of here for about $40 for a meal for two. But the service and flavor more than make up for the price tag. Maybe I was just mega hungry after a nearby hike but this was literally one of the most memorable meals I have had in a while. Even writing this months later, I can remember every detail. Absolutely fantastic place. Deserves 6 stars if possible. Bottom Line/TLDR: AMAZING FOOD

Patty melt with sweet potato fries

Yes, yes, and yes. We went for a work dinner and we were all pleasantly surprised by the food. Not one person at our table finished their entrée because it was just so much food. There was a lot of food, but it was also reasonably priced. Everything we had was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The table started off with the brussels sprouts, the bread with the olive oil dip, the shrimp, appetizer and the spinach artichoke dip. Everyone tore into the appetizers. There was 16 of us and not one person had a single complaint. Everyone loved everything about every appetizer. When our food came, we were so full from the appetizers that none of us could finish our food. I got the patty melt, almost everyone in our party got the burger and one person got the chicken salad. None of us could finish anything. Every person at the table said that their food was so good. They wish they could finish their food. One person who actually lived in. Vacaville said that they would definitely be bringing their family back for breakfast or lunch. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was so engaging and kept us laughing the entire time. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean and every single person working there was smiling and they actually seemed like they were happy to be there with us. I did manage to eat half of my patty melt and it was really good, I got it with the sweet potato fries and blue cheese dressing to dip my fries in. I washed it all down with a Cadillac margarita. I am so super satisfied with the food and I would love to go again next time I'm up north.

Putah Burger as a bowl no bun

This cafe was featured on Diners, DriveIns, and Dives about 15 years ago. They have limited open times but if you have a chance to eat here, do it! The staff greeted us during a busy lunch rush on a Wednesday. The place was packed. There is outside, inside, and bar counter seating. They also have delicious desserts in a display case up front. The Hostess was a young woman with a long pony tail. She was very customer service oriented and she had a lot of positive energy. We were seated within 2 mins of the lunch rush, at a spacious and comfortable booth near the door of the main dining room. We had a wonderful server named Ashley. She had the most positive attitude and great customer service. Our food: Putah Café Burger as a bowl with no bun, The PCC Pizza (Pepperoni, Ricotta, and drizzled honey), a Coca Cola, and water. The food was prepared well and came out within about 12 mins. We enjoyed our time here. We were too full to have dessert and they have SO MANY CHOICES. We tried every major restaurant place in this small town (7500 population) and Putah Café was the best food. The customer service is EXCELLENT and the positive and welcoming vibe is priceless.

I love this place! They remember us and bring our drinks and it's so refreshing! The food is great and super large portions! We typically share the chicken and waffles and add a piece of chicken! It is DELICIOUS! The small town vibe is so prevalent and we love it!

Putah Creek Cafe is the place to be for breakfast lunch and dinner in the little town of Winters!! Walked in for lunch with 30 minutes to spare from my lunch break. I was acknowledged right away and customer service was phenomenal! It is a big place and man they STAY BUSY! I surprised I was able to get a table. I was taken care of very well! My waitress was very kind and my food came out quick and hot! I ordered the country fried steak! It was delicious and such a huge portion! I love the small town vibes of Winters, everyone knows each other, born and raised! Had their kids and their kids had kids! Generations run deep and Putah Creek will be that place for everyone to come and enjoy comfort food!

I had an amazing breakfast, everything was soooo good! We sat outside, enjoyed the fresh air ! My food was so good ! Drinks were great! I wish it was closer to my house, I'd be there all the time ! My waffle was topped with Fresh strawberries and house whipped cream and it was to die for I also got a side of bacon that looked freshly butchered! My Bloody Mary could have used a splash of Worcestershire, but other than that, everything was delicious. Staff was very friendly and considering how busy they get the food came out hot and fast !!

A friend and I took our girls out for breakfast here last week and it was excellent! The kids both got bacon and eggs, and a cup of fruit. I had the chicken-fried steak breakfast, and I can't remember what my friend ordered, but he loved it! After breakfast the girls played at the park across the street for a little bit before we headed back home. Putah Creek Cafe is an excellent spot to visit if you ever find yourself in Winters!!

Our waiter was super kind!! very attentive and patient as the rest of our party showed. He even chatted me up about my new Star Wars tattoo. friendly waiters make the best experiences! split the mimosa flight with the table, the pineapple juice combo was deffff my favorite. i ordered the eggs benedict with french fries because it had turned into a late brunch by the time everyone arrived LOL will definitely come back! had such decision paralysis looking at the menu ack!!!!! need to try it alllllll. #benedict #notcumberbatch #lovehimtho #brunch #thecouncilreunion

    Amber R.

I came for brunch & I left with a full stomach! Definitely come before 12pm to beat the lunch rush. The bacon was the best part of the meal & the pancakes are HUGE! The Griddle Breakfast came with 2 pancakes, eggs & 3 slices of bacon - I ate everything but one of the pancakes because I was so full. The California Omelette was full of bacon & everything just tasted fresh. I cannot wait to come back & try something else!

Once again, Putah Creek Cafe delivered the goods! We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was a little busy due to the Salmon Festival that was occurring across the street. It was a 20-25 minute wait, but we didn't mind. We got to our seats and started off with the Bacon Bloody Mary, which is starting to become a favorite of mine. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing! Crispy on the outside with nice herbs and juicy on the inside. The bread was fresh and the spicy sauce it came with was awesome! She got the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed it, but couldn't finish the potatoes cause she was full. This is one of my favorite spots to have breakfast, but today decided to try their lunch menu. A true Winters gem!

    Joey V.

From the onset, just looking at people waiting to get in, to the happy faces inside, it gave me warm and fuzzies..ok ok more like warm and buzzies" Lol Our waitress was very welcoming and engaging. I was having a hard to deciding what I was going to order. After finally deciding to go with the Greek Chicken Salad, right? Well not so quick!! I have had plenty of greek salads in my day and the was not one that I would yell out " OPA".. sadly nope :-( Everything else at our table looked and was wonderful. The actual presentation on the Greek Salad was great as posted. What I did not care for was the chicken, it just tasted wrong or processed, and the salad dressing was not great so I left a good portion of the salad :-( I did not want to complain, but that will not be something I will order again. Outside of that, great place, well worth the visit.

Amazing dinner! Came for my birthday and enjoyed attentive service a yummy blood orange Paloma. We sat on a big booth that was cozy. The food is delicious, I come here often but wanted to try some new things tonight. Enjoyed the beet salad and gnocchi. See pics below! Great place to dine as a family of five wanting casual but delicious

Putah Creek Cafe is a quaint and charming cafe. Spacious and welcoming. Mostly inside dining, though there seemed to be some outside seating but I am unsure because it was packed away. Friendly and welcoming staff. The desserts caught our eye. My wife is a scone person so she got a strawberry cream scone (3/5). We like our scones a bit moist but this had a good flavor. We'll be back to try their food. Check out their cakes, dream bars, cookies, etc. Congrats on your 30 years of serving the community of Winters, CA!

After brunch we walked the entire grounds and the main floor of the Inn. The Interior of the Inn on the main floor is very clean and elegant with beautiful furnishings and art. The grounds are quiet and peaceful with nook and open areas for relaxing with a glass of champagne or cup of coffee. The Flower Barn must be seen. There was a wreath making class going and countless beautiful dried flowers hanging from the ceiling of every variety. There is a little store on the property with more dried flowers, olive oils, jams and balsamic vinegar from the valley. Soothing jazz music played in the various areas of the property. It was early, around 4:00 p.m., and there were only two people dining inside. They agreed and eventually placed two tables together indoors. My thought was, why was this not offered from the beginning, especially given the heat and how empty the restaurant was? The ambiance was great, but unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was very skimpy, with only two thin slices of apple, two small orange slices, very little feta, and mostly lettuce. The chicken portion was extremely small and was served separately on a plate rather than sliced and placed on the salad as ordered. The other dishes were also small and underwhelming. The burger and fries were nothing special, and the spaghetti was plain and lacked flavor. If you are looking for great ambiance, this may be a nice place to visit. But if you are looking for great food, you may want to consider other options. For a great burger, I would recommend Buckhorn instead. It costs less and is much better.

I recently enjoyed my first (and definitely not my last) dining experience at the HIVE tasting room and kitchen in Woodland, CA. I enjoyed it; the food was delicious and customer service on point. I went there with the intent of mead wine tasting but ended up not since I had driving duties. [Fun fact: mead wine has less alcohol content than grape wine.] Instead I ordered lunch and washed it down with their honey ice tea. The iced tea had a prominent honey taste. Hubs luved his, but my tastebuds were confused. Odd though because I luv honey and iced tea. We also ordered a Ruben sandwich $22 and an order of waffles. The sandwich was classic with the familiar flavors. Nice quality cut of meat, thinly shaved. The waffles $17 were topped with blueberries, slivered almonds, and orange blossom whipped ricotta cream which I asked for on the side. The ricotta cream was divine. The waffles tasted pretty darn good. However the pricing for both entrees seemed high for the serving size. Clam Chowder - Creamy, comforting, and a nice starter. Bacon Cheeseburger - A solid burger that definitely hit the spot. My only real complaint? The wings. Not the flavor--the portion size. For $20, I think the order should include at least 8-10 wings. You get six (the sixth one is hiding under the garnish in my photo ), and one of them was noticeably smaller than the others. They were so good that I just wished there had been more! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. It's not manufactured, it's real, and that matters. The atmosphere is on point. It balances upscale and relaxed in a way that works whether you're there for a date night, business dinner, or just grabbing a drink. The lounge has great energy and always feels alive without being too much. The food speaks for itself. Consistently high quality, fresh, and well executed. You can tell there's intention behind every dish, not just going through the motions. For the level of quality you're getting, the value is absolutely there. Service is a big reason this place stands out. Christy is amazing. She genuinely cares, remembers people, and makes sure you're taken care of the right way. It never feels forced, just natural hospitality. This is one of those spots that's become part of Woodland's identity. You see regulars, new faces, families, and business meetings all happening at once. That kind of mix only happens when a place is doing something right. This time, three of us ordered burgers, and they were some of the driest, most flavorless burgers I've ever had. Burger Saloon, I'll never betray you again. The experience itself felt unreal. We found out our waitress was on her 4th day working and she literally quit after taking our order. You truly can't make this stuff up. Another server had to come retake our order, and even then things still came out wrong. I asked for no cheese because I'm lactose intolerant, but my burger came with cheese anyway. Out of 7 drinks ordered, 3 were forgotten. One drink specifically requested no sugar on the rim and came out with sugar. I did feel bad for the replacement server. He looked incredibly nervous and was visibly shaking. Despite all the mishaps, we still left him a good tip because it honestly seemed like the whole place was struggling that night.

The beet salad was also delicious, and major appreciation to the kitchen for thoughtfully splitting it into four equal plates for sharing. Small touch, big hospitality points. The lemon ricotta pancake was the one slight miss for me. The powdered sugar ended up being the main character, overpowering some of the balance and richness I was hoping for. The fish tacos, however, completely redeemed things. Flavorful, fresh, and made even better by our incredibly thoughtful waitress, who had the kitchen prepare four tacos for sharing instead of the usual three. Those little gestures really elevate the experience. But the true standout of the meal? The Back Door Berry Bramble. Pure bliss in a glass. Made with seasonal local fruit purée, lime, grapefruit, orange liqueur, and vodka, this cocktail absolutely knocked it out of the park -- bright, refreshing!!!
