Located downtown Winters , my friend who loves this place wanted to meet here, I came from Napa and she came from Davis. It was really busy mid morning on a Sunday. We waited approximately 30 minutes. The service was great the food really good and the ambience fun and lively. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch..

Can I just say... come hungry! The food is so good and the portions are huge! Almost too big if you're not a big eater. ( good thing we are lol ) . It is almost always very busy but so worth the wait. Our server was super sweet and attentive. The desserts looked amazing we didn't try them because we were too full. The outside patio is super cute but we noticed alot of flies so we sat inside, still a few flies to shoe away but it was fine. Drinks were good. I probably could have just had the bloody mary for breakfast. It was practically a meal in itself.

The location is phenomenal. It's right in the heart of downtown Winters right on the Main Street. The whole town is so picturesque and unique. It's across from other restaurants and shops. It is also adjacent to a park. There is plenty of free street parking nearby so you shouldn't have an issue finding a spot. The service was amazing. Our server came by multiple times to ensure we were satisfied. Being our first time here, we got what she recommended. And she was right! There are no bad items on the menu. Our food came out relatively quickly even though we were in a larger group. The burger was absolutely massive. It had to have been at least 2 lbs. The taste was packed with flavor and so juicy. I could taste every ingredient in the burger. Words cannot adequately describe how excellent this burger was. The French dip was also very solid. The sauce was so good that I literally drank it. It paired well with the fries. The cookie was a bit on the harder side but still pretty tasty, maybe would have been better warmed up. The prices are about average for 2026. I'd say expect to walk out of here for about $40 for a meal for two. But the service and flavor more than make up for the price tag. Maybe I was just mega hungry after a nearby hike but this was literally one of the most memorable meals I have had in a while. Even writing this months later, I can remember every detail. Absolutely fantastic place. Deserves 6 stars if possible. Bottom Line/TLDR: AMAZING FOOD

Putah Burger as a bowl no bun

This cafe was featured on Diners, DriveIns, and Dives about 15 years ago. They have limited open times but if you have a chance to eat here, do it! The staff greeted us during a busy lunch rush on a Wednesday. The place was packed. There is outside, inside, and bar counter seating. They also have delicious desserts in a display case up front. The Hostess was a young woman with a long pony tail. She was very customer service oriented and she had a lot of positive energy. We were seated within 2 mins of the lunch rush, at a spacious and comfortable booth near the door of the main dining room. We had a wonderful server named Ashley. She had the most positive attitude and great customer service. Our food: Putah Café Burger as a bowl with no bun, The PCC Pizza (Pepperoni, Ricotta, and drizzled honey), a Coca Cola, and water. The food was prepared well and came out within about 12 mins. We enjoyed our time here. We were too full to have dessert and they have SO MANY CHOICES. We tried every major restaurant place in this small town (7500 population) and Putah Café was the best food. The customer service is EXCELLENT and the positive and welcoming vibe is priceless.

Patty melt with sweet potato fries

Yes, yes, and yes. We went for a work dinner and we were all pleasantly surprised by the food. Not one person at our table finished their entrée because it was just so much food. There was a lot of food, but it was also reasonably priced. Everything we had was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The table started off with the brussels sprouts, the bread with the olive oil dip, the shrimp, appetizer and the spinach artichoke dip. Everyone tore into the appetizers. There was 16 of us and not one person had a single complaint. Everyone loved everything about every appetizer. When our food came, we were so full from the appetizers that none of us could finish our food. I got the patty melt, almost everyone in our party got the burger and one person got the chicken salad. None of us could finish anything. Every person at the table said that their food was so good. They wish they could finish their food. One person who actually lived in. Vacaville said that they would definitely be bringing their family back for breakfast or lunch. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was so engaging and kept us laughing the entire time. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean and every single person working there was smiling and they actually seemed like they were happy to be there with us. I did manage to eat half of my patty melt and it was really good, I got it with the sweet potato fries and blue cheese dressing to dip my fries in. I washed it all down with a Cadillac margarita. I am so super satisfied with the food and I would love to go again next time I'm up north.

Putah Creek Cafe is the place to be for breakfast lunch and dinner in the little town of Winters!! Walked in for lunch with 30 minutes to spare from my lunch break. I was acknowledged right away and customer service was phenomenal! It is a big place and man they STAY BUSY! I surprised I was able to get a table. I was taken care of very well! My waitress was very kind and my food came out quick and hot! I ordered the country fried steak! It was delicious and such a huge portion! I love the small town vibes of Winters, everyone knows each other, born and raised! Had their kids and their kids had kids! Generations run deep and Putah Creek will be that place for everyone to come and enjoy comfort food!

I had an amazing breakfast, everything was soooo good! We sat outside, enjoyed the fresh air ! My food was so good ! Drinks were great! I wish it was closer to my house, I'd be there all the time ! My waffle was topped with Fresh strawberries and house whipped cream and it was to die for I also got a side of bacon that looked freshly butchered! My Bloody Mary could have used a splash of Worcestershire, but other than that, everything was delicious. Staff was very friendly and considering how busy they get the food came out hot and fast !!

A friend and I took our girls out for breakfast here last week and it was excellent! The kids both got bacon and eggs, and a cup of fruit. I had the chicken-fried steak breakfast, and I can't remember what my friend ordered, but he loved it! After breakfast the girls played at the park across the street for a little bit before we headed back home. Putah Creek Cafe is an excellent spot to visit if you ever find yourself in Winters!!

I love this place! They remember us and bring our drinks and it's so refreshing! The food is great and super large portions! We typically share the chicken and waffles and add a piece of chicken! It is DELICIOUS! The small town vibe is so prevalent and we love it!

baby got a benny and her friend is turning twennyyyyyyyy.... seven....!!!!! Visited Putah Creek Cafe for the first time to celebrate a very good friend's birthday. Our waiter was super kind!! very attentive and patient as the rest of our party showed. He even chatted me up about my new Star Wars tattoo. friendly waiters make the best experiences! split the mimosa flight with the table, the pineapple juice combo was deffff my favorite. i ordered the eggs benedict with french fries because it had turned into a late brunch by the time everyone arrived LOL will definitely come back! had such decision paralysis looking at the menu ack!!!!! need to try it alllllll. #benedict #notcumberbatch #lovehimtho #brunch #thecouncilreunion

Stopped here with friends after a hike back in April and overall had a decent experience. The location right in downtown Winters is super cute with an eclectic vibe, and it's definitely a popular breakfast spot. We had about a 10-15 minute wait, which honestly wasn't bad considering how busy they were. The menu had a lot of great-looking options. Two friends ordered the chicken fried steak, another ordered a veggie/Mediterranean-style omelet, and I had the carnitas huevos rancheros since I'm gluten-free. Portions were generous and the food was good, though not necessarily something I'd rave about. The biggest issue during our visit was the service. Drinks and ordering started off fine, but when the food came out only two of the four meals arrived. My friend and I ended up waiting quite a while longer and had to flag someone down to check on our meals. We were told the ticket must have gotten mixed up and our food would be out shortly. By the time our dishes arrived, our other friends were basically done eating. One side order was also forgotten. To their credit, they did remove that item and gave us 50% off the delayed dishes, which we appreciated. I completely understand that busy restaurants can get hectic, but better communication and table follow-up would have made a huge difference. Overall, cute spot with decent food and good portions -- just hoping the service experience improves.

    California Omelette

I came for brunch & I left with a full stomach! Definitely come before 12pm to beat the lunch rush. The bacon was the best part of the meal & the pancakes are HUGE! The Griddle Breakfast came with 2 pancakes, eggs & 3 slices of bacon - I ate everything but one of the pancakes because I was so full. The California Omelette was full of bacon & everything just tasted fresh. I cannot wait to come back & try something else!

Once again, Putah Creek Cafe delivered the goods! We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was a little busy due to the Salmon Festival that was occurring across the street. It was a 20-25 minute wait, but we didn't mind. We got to our seats and started off with the Bacon Bloody Mary, which is starting to become a favorite of mine. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing! Crispy on the outside with nice herbs and juicy on the inside. The bread was fresh and the spicy sauce it came with was awesome! She got the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed it, but couldn't finish the potatoes cause she was full. This is one of my favorite spots to have breakfast, but today decided to try their lunch menu. A true Winters gem!

It was early, around 4:00 p.m., and there were only two people dining inside. They agreed and eventually placed two tables together indoors. My thought was, why was this not offered from the beginning, especially given the heat and how empty the restaurant was? The ambiance was great, but unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was very skimpy, with only two thin slices of apple, two small orange slices, very little feta, and mostly lettuce. The chicken portion was extremely small and was served separately on a plate rather than sliced and placed on the salad as ordered. The other dishes were also small and underwhelming. The burger and fries were nothing special, and the spaghetti was plain and lacked flavor. If you are looking for great ambiance, this may be a nice place to visit. But if you are looking for great food, you may want to consider other options. For a great burger, I would recommend Buckhorn instead. It costs less and is much better.

It was definitely on the thinner side compared to the prime rib I've had at other steakhouses, but the flavor absolutely made up for it. It was seasoned really well, flavorful, tender, and honestly one of the best-tasting prime ribs I've had in a while. My girlfriend ordered the rack of ribs, and she loved them! She said they had great flavor, were tender, and were cooked really well. We also shared a side of mushrooms, and those were SO yummy definitely a side I'd recommend adding to your meal. The restaurant is definitely on the expensive side, especially for a steakhouse, but for a special occasion like an anniversary, I'd say it's worth the splurge in the long run. Our waiter was also incredibly sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they even gave us a free dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch! As for the ambience, it's okay. It has that classic steakhouse/western feel, with deer and elk heads mounted on the walls basically staring you down while you eat . Our waitress was awesome and very attentive--she got the kitchen to prepare our friends enchilada dish topped off with 2 eggs over easy and topped with chopped lettuce & tomatoes ---just the way she & my friend make the dish at home! Every item is a winner (haven't tried them all, but very happy with what I've tried). A good sign is when you see many of the same people eating there more than once a week. A hidden neighborhood treasure.
