This place is just OK. It's not bad, but I'm not entirely sure that you get your moneys worth. For a diner, you would think it would be more reasonably priced. They are on the high end of pricing for being a café, in fact much higher priced than a café, But you don't get the comparable quality and service that you would get for the prices that they charge. We enjoyed the Carnitas huevos rancheros, biscuits and gravy, the corn pie, lemon blueberry pancakes, and the baked French toast. Quaint, dog friendly and delicious. It sports cheery yellow umbrellas which provide shade for the outdoor diners which is quite inviting. Didn't peek inside but there was ample table space outside on this pleasant almost summer morning. Our waitress was cheerful and prompt. Waters were brought promptly including a cub for our 4 legged companion. The baked French toast was delightful with a generous scoop of fresh whipped cream and fresh strawberries topping it off. My boyfriend and I love their carnitas nachos and sadly, tonight, we found out that they have taken it off there menu. I would normally give this restaurant 5 stars as it's one of my favorites in Winters, but the carnitas nachos was our favorite item here. I am hoping that they will bring it back. The restaurant was busy but we were able to snag a table outside with no wait when we arrived. Sitting outside is lovely you get to people watch a bit and have views of downtown Winters. You can order brunch or lunch which gives everyone many options to choose from. Service is good and the food came quickly. Choices are limited on where to eat in town so as basically the only breakfast cafe you would think they would know how to cook breakfast food but you'd be wrong. The food is horrible. Never been here before and the place looked inviting and busy which is always a good sign. I was with my family and I ordered sweet potato fries and they ordered theirs. The waiter Erik R. asked if we wanted ranch with our fries and we said No. The food came out BUT, mine didn't. You would think mine would come quicker because it was just fries or at least with everyone else's. I clocked it at 8 mins and still no fries. I had to stop our waiter and tell him we said No to the ranch, and he said Sorry, and we can have it and he'll take it off the order. (1st mistake that he put the ranch in our order), Next, my partner had asked him where was the fries for me, and he acted as if he didnt know what I ordered and claimed he put it in(second mistake). By that point I lost my appetite because my family was already eating and I still had to wait and not enjoy with my family; I had to take it to go. I then asked for a manager and I spoke to Olivia. She was attentive, kind as heck, and offered her apologies and took care of a few things for us to repair his mistakes. I dont appreciate our waiter ERIK. R for his irresponsibilities, but I appreciate OLIVIA for her beautiful heart and responsibility as a supervisor. That's how management should always be. Spring mix, grilled chicken, feta cheese, sliced avocado, red onion and strawberries. What a fantastic combination and the balsamic vinaigrette dressing was perfect. My boyfriend and I would often go to Putah Creek Cafe as our date spot. We loved how they have their breakfast menu until 2PM, which gave us time to be lazy, roll out of bed, and still be able to get our breakfast fix! We recently gave our one last hoorah there as I just graduated from UC Davis and we will be largely staying in our hometown from now on. We will greatly miss Putah Creek Cafe! Their small cafe vibes, amazing food, speedy service, beautiful scenery -- everything will be missed! Unfortunately not pictured, but their desserts are amazing. They are huge and delicious. You will feel like a little kid again when you see the desserts in the case at the front. I especially loved getting a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They also have a brownie sundae, if you prefer those extra toppings. All in all, beautiful and amazing restaurant. Truly a small town cafe vibe in the best way. Found this hidden gem on my way back home one day and I thought the food was delicious and service was exceptionally fast! It took us a while to get seated due to them being busy, but once we were seated it didn't take long for us to order and get our food. I decided to try something new and get the chorizo egg soufflé and wow, the flavors were so delicious! My boyfriend ordered their French toast bake and that was new for me too... Had the country fried steak and eggs, service was very prompt, they sat me without delay, I ordered and asked for the restroom location. By the time I came back out the food had arrived, shocking me. If you are a vegan, there is nothing on the menu for you, unless you modify a salad. I got the vegetarian scramble without cheese. Had spinach, artichoke hearts, sun-dried, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Had a very bad experience here, which left a bad taste in our mouths! Five of us were celebrating a big birthday brunch, brought a fruit tart IN WITH US, had it right on the table the entire meal. The waiter did not cut it, did not provide plates, nor did we ask him to serve it. He DID however announce there was a $25 fee for bringing it in AS HE HANDED US OUR CHECK! Failing to disclose a $25 charge until the bill arrives is unprofessional and poor service. The lack of disclosure deprived us of the choice to simply have it after brunch at home! His reasoning, "I thought you knew" WHAT? HOW? There were no visible signs anywhere saying this, he literally had over an hour to inform us! SOOO LAME. We should have asked to speak to a manager but since it already put a damper on our celebration, we all just left mad and disgusted. Pretty sure we tipped him for serving us our food though!
