One of the best gay bars I've ever been to--loved the show tunes, the drinks, the bartenders, and the surprisingly crowd! We headed over here for a bachelorette party, and us being a group of 6 young Asian, straight ladies, we stuck out like a sore thumb. Still, we had so much fun while singing along to show tunes and the bartender treated the bride-to-be with an enormous chocolate shot on the house. This was my first time here and I must say I enjoyed it! This place was warm and friendly. Everyone here is nice and very welcoming. It doesn't matter what is your sexual preference as long as you come here with an open mind and open heart! Whenever I am in Palm Springs this is the place my friends & I go to have a good time. Staff has always been genuinely friendly, and even remembered me from previous visits. Might sound a bit nutty, but I judge a bar by how it smells, and this place is definitely clean, even the bathrooms. Drinks are always made well, and they aren't shy with the pour, if you know what I mean. Karaoke & Show tune nights are my favorite, or just coming for an afternoon drink to escape the heat when I'm visiting friends in PS. Not sure WHY the name SpurLine...felt like we were on the MAIN line with a huge roaring crowd!! We have heard about the show tunes for a very very long time and it never appealed to us, BUT so glad we went last night!!! SO much fun, but so many people like we have never seen on Arenas Road before...ever! Take a break and join the crowd for some great show tunes...makes NO difference whether you can sing because NO ONE will hear you!! LOVED IT!!! read more

This bar is girl friendly so that's good for me :) Like some reviewers before me stated...looks like this place is a locals hang out. Came here on Sunday which I assume its a show tune night because that's wall they were playing on the TV screens. Everyone ordered their own small pitcher of Pyramid Heffenweissen (sp?) at $8, such a great deal. And I'm so glad for that because it helped us sit through some not so great show tunes! Fun musical numbers/showtunes on the TV all night. I came here with a girl friend because everywhere else was dead already - it was Friday and 11 PM and the Palm Springs strip seemed DEAD!!!! We followed two gay guys to this place. They said there would be karaoke. Not that it mattered but there wasn't any when we got there. There were 4 females and about 60 gay guys. Ha. Anyway, I love musicals and they had Rocky Horror, Victor/Victoria, Barbara Streisand, The Music Man videos on the TVs. It was fun! It was also very odd. Most bars have commotion, laughter, conversation, people, squeezing by each other and generally some BAR-like activity. (There was even a pool table here but no balls - it was being used as a table!) But here, in contrast, every patron was watching the TV and the only movement was the bartender moving around getting beers. It was eerie and odd. Four stars because this was the one bar I had the most fun at in Palm Springs (I also went to Village Pub, Alternate Route, and left/didn't go into Zeldaz cuz they ACTUALLY wanted 10 dollar cover - paw-Leez!) Barbara Streisand is alive and well at the Spurline! Or at least, the drag queen who does Barbara is alive and well. I hadn't been to a bar which has drag queens in a long time. Last night (Saturday) the ladies were out and in force belting out the tunes. Surprisingly, the one real woman cocktail waitress got on the stage and sang with her real voice and did a great job while the other "ladies" changed costumes. Spurline tends to be a hangout for locals, but can also be a fun place to grab a drink, have a seat, sit back and watch Videos and Comedy shorts. From musicals like Westside Story and Dreamgirls... to cult movies like Rocky Horror ... to skits on Mad TV and Saturday Night Live, Spurline can be a nice alternative to the other clubs in PS. The bartenders where friendly (often singing along with the videos) and the drinks were decent and not too expensive. My recommendation would be for the bar to mix things up a bit and have at least one or two nights a week where there are fewer videos and more MUSIC videos (with comedy clips mixed in). That's a practice at the bars here in S. Florida and seems to work very well. read more

I like it for their Sunday night showtunes evening. Its fun and they get everyone involved. Felt bad one day though as they only had one bartender and both cash registers died on him. When he finally got to me, some chick, tried to move in and order before me. This is a great local hangout here in Palm Springs. While I'm not a big fan of their always popular showtune nights (Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays), this is one of the most laidback places to grab a cocktail and be able to sit down and relax and talk to friends or meet new people. It's a fun environment, and the staff is wonderful. If you like karaoke, they have it twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. If not, remember that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are "twofer" days, so you get two cocktails for the price of one (don't lose the paper receipt they give you). read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! We go for all the musical nights! So much fun! Sexy bartenders, great music, STRONG drinks, and nice and cool! Best experience I had was a couple weeks ago. Jeff was our bartender, and WOW does he poor a strong drink! He was flirting with us and once I started kissing him, I don't think I hardly had to pay for another drink all weekend! :) We had a blast the rest of the weekend and he treated treated us like royalty - "Another shot? This is a super fun bar. Love the videos. The bartenders are really friendly and pour a generous drink. This is my go to bar when I'm in PS.

The first time I was there I went with my best friend. I think it was early on a Tuesday evening. As soon as we walked thru the door we were greeted with a genuinely friendly hello and a nice warm smile from the super hunky bartender Jay. He instantly made us feel welcome and very comfortable. While we were there I overheard a group of guys talking about how much fun they had here last Sunday on Karaoke night. So just this last Sunday a group of 5 of us went to check it out for ourselves. I'm usually not one to EVER get up and sing but the adorable Karaoke DJ Matt was a lot of fun and he just had a way to get us all going. He had us all hooting and howling and belting out tunes together. My friends and I had such a blast that night. When we were leaving we all vowed that we'd come back again sometime real soon! I forgot to mention they've recently done a great remodel to the bar and have changed the name to Quads after the remodel, but it's still the same great place with the same great friendly staff as always. The bar i always packed by the time we get there, so we don't stay long, but everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and the bartenders are very friendly. You know, sometimes I wonder if there is a gay man locked inside of me, because I LOVE me some show tunes. Like really love them. My friends and I randomly stopped by on a Saturday night while in Palm Springs to find musical numbers being played on the monster TV screen! I was in heaven! The drinks were cheap (in price) but strong in flavor. Everyone was enjoying the musical numbers and singing along. Bartenders and patrons alike were friendly. What's not to love? We have always had fun spending time at Spurline and their changing entertainment. When we are in town we always plan to meet up with friends for the Showtunes nights...or pretty much just to meet up. The staff is friendly and up for a chat if they are not to busy. Dress code for the guys include: cowboy hat, cowboy boots, jeans, the most obnoxious belt buckle you own and a shirt (which is actually optional). Whether you have a six pack, a one pack or a hairy pack, just let it all hang out, this bar seems to be about showing off ALL your assets. Dress code for the women. What women??? Other than my sister and myself the next closest thing to a woman were the drag queens. Spurline was quite an experience, its definitely not your typical bar scene, this place was wall to wall men dressed in their scandalous low rise denim, drinking, mingling and synchronized square dancing to Lady Gaga. read more

What a CF last night .... First this place is called QuadZ now. Last night was a special for the "Boys of Broadway". Place was mobbed. Line was 12-15 deep and the bar. One slow as molasses bartender who didn't have any idea what he was doing. Suggestions were made to go buy a drink at Chill and walk it next door. Manager was in the back ignoring the whole mess.
