Cup of pretty good clam chowder.

Quartdeck is an Edgartown go to takeout joint. We like it for a quick lunch bite when on the run. It doesn't pretend to be something else and grateful for a quick cheap eats. Clam chowder, fish sandwiches, hotdogs etc. Prices are $$. Food does not always reflect portion size on fish sandwich, chowder.

Super convenient and super fast. You will see a few people ordering their food and sitting on the curb across the way to eat. An easy grab and go kind of place. Unfortunately, my kids did not like the cheeseburger (my son pretty much eats everything). Cheeseburger was a bit greasy but that's to be expected. He did eat up the mozzarella sticks since he loves cheese. The lobster roll is not that great. I did not finish it. I would not recommend it. If you're in a hurry, you can go here or grab a slice of pizza just down the way.

I stopped by here this past Saturday night with my wife for dinner. We had eaten a late snack and were looking for a fast to go dinner whenever we found the Quarterdeck in Edgartown. This is to go only type of place where you walk up, place your order, wait around and take your food to wherever you are headed. Due to that there is not much to this stand other than a couple of cash registers in the front under a huge menu and then a kitchen through a window behind that. For dinner on this day I decided to go with the clam strips platter while my wife merely went with a bowl of clam chowder. It took maybe 5-10 minutes for our food to be ready and we took it to some of the public picnic tables that overlooked the bay nearby. Whenever I opened up my meal I was impressed with the amount of both clam strips and fries that were inside. The clam strips here were cooked nicely and were nice and tender while the breading was thick and lacked a little flavor. Honestly, if the breading had a little more flavor or they had given me some type of sauce to dip them in, I think that I would have enjoyed them better. As for the fries, they were hot temperature wise and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. My food was decent and while I thought it could have been a bit better, I did enjoy the grab and go nature of the Quarterdeck.

The best tour guide, my son. On our way to the Quarter Deck for a quick bite.

During May 2020 visit. We bike ride around the island and stop in at the Quarter Deck. It was a convenient location to stop with our bicycles. The outside was open for business, but the restaurant was not open including the patio overlooking the ocean. Prices were a bit pricey, but the quality was good and fresh during the pre summer of 2020. Were glad we found this spot, as not much was open during this Covid19 time. Great food and service.

When all the restaurants have closed down and you are In need for a snack, this is your place. It is open late and they have all kinds of late night grub. You could eat here during the day too, but it's a grab and go place. No tables or chairs. Their menu consists of mostly fried items. We tried the clam strips and the fish sandwich. The clam strips came on a huge bed of fries. No need to order extra fries. You will have enough for yourself and to share. The fish sandwich was mediocre. It was smaller than expected. It came on a roll. It was flavorless, but the tartar sauce helped with the flavor. Would I return? Probably. Everything closes early in MV. You have your choice of ice cream places late at night, but if you want food, then this is your place.

Probably the best take out burgers on the island. Juicy greasy burgers, super quick, and nice to go sit and eat by the water.

Pretty decent casual takeaway grub! Came here on a beautiful Thursday afternoon for a spot of lunch. They were out of whole belly clams so we settled for clam strips and supplemented with the lobster roll, chowder, and a diet coke. Total came to ~$38, so not cheap but decently reasonable given the location and y'know...seafood. Clam strips were a tad bready but fresh and yummy, and portion size was legit. The chowder was surprisingly good! Stuffed with clams and not too salty or watery. The lobster roll was the real surprise, though. I swear and die by Alive and Kicking in Cambridge, but for less than $20 this lobster roll was pretty awesome -- just stuffed to the brim with good lobster meat, some big claw chunks in there too, and not too much goopy mayo. There's a good deck and patio to the left of Quarterdeck that has picnic tables and a view of the harbor. You can watch the fishers and boats pulling in!

Stopped by for a quick afternoon snack. We ordered the clam strips (strips only, no meal). They were quite good, definitely the some of the meatier strips that I have had and they weren't fried to a crisp, they were golden and you could actually taste the clam, not just the batter.

The Quarterdeck is a classic for indulgent, low-key, and old-timey food. They have a wide variety of seafood and american classics. Perfect for nonchalant dining and on-the-go grub too! If you're in Edgartown bring your kids here for lunch for a fun and memorable experience. All of their food is good, but among my favorites are the grilled cheese, clam chowder, fried fish & clams, and their milkshakes! If you're worried about the lack of seating, fear not! The nearby wharf is a great place to eat with your family, and you can take the nearby ferry to chappy for a spectacular & nearly private picnic.

We also enjoy getting dressed up to come here since they've got the white tablecloths my wife looks for when she's sipping her drink -- so don't show up straight from the beach in flip-flops and a tee. The vibe is always relaxed but elevated, the food and drinks are on point, and the service never misses. That's why we keep coming back.

All I wanted that day was some fried shrimp and clam strips -- and for me, the strips are key because they skip the extra parts you get with whole clams. Unfortunately, they were out of clam strips, so we went with fried shrimp, fries, and lobster bisque. Since I had to share with my wife, I asked for extra shrimp -- but heads up, it's $3 per shrimp. Not complaining, just letting you know. The lobster bisque came out hot and creamy, but I was hoping for a bit more depth of flavor and a little more lobster meat and a little less bisque. The shrimp were tasty and fried well, but personally, I prefer mine butterflied for that extra texture and presentation. What stood out most, though, was the service. Friendly, quick, and attentive, which matters a lot when you're trying a local favorite. Overall, Square Rigger delivers a solid experience, but I left wishing for just a little more -- especially when you're at a place with that kind of reputation. Verdict: Good shrimp, great service, but I'll be back hoping for those clam strips next time.

A member of the family had requested this location for her birthday dinner. The person who answered the phone "Idk. It's Friday night. I don't have time for this. It's busy." This should have been our first red flag. A separate conversation and call at another time, the GM asked over the phone if we'd like a cake or something special brought in. Very thoughtful. "Yeah we'd love that! Thank you!" When we arrived at our reservation time, the table had to be rearranged while the party waited. Our party was 8 people. When we inquired about the cake, no one present had any idea what we were talking about. They kindly offered to put a sampler dish together which we accepted but all other food and drink took so long, we cancelled it because we just wanted ultimately just wanted to leave. This is a steak house. A few people at the table ordered steaks with a medium center. Plates were brought out and we were advised the steaks had a medium. Every single steak was completely grey inside(well done). There was not a spot of pink inside. We didn't ask for a replacement steak, we just let them know so they would be aware for future steaks and someone else's future steak! We didn't bother asking for the replacement steak because it already took incredibly long for us to get our food and we were hungry. The waitress never apologized. She didn't look like she wanted to be there and was awkwardly hovering between the 2 tables they had filled. Two new steaks were brought out which we thought was nice but it was also suspiciously fast considering our previous long wait. We cut into the new steaks, almost completely raw. There was a man that poured water for us when we sat. He was the only one that looked like he enjoyed working there and showed any real customer service. The menu says 8oz sirloin and instead you get a 10oz New York strip. A larger piece sounds good but it's not what we asked for when we were ordering our food. If you're going to serve a different cut and size, why would you not change your menu? Or at least let customers know when ordering. Drinks were HEAVY. Can't complain about the quality of liquor. The drinks would be put on the table and take almost 10 minutes to get the next drink. The bartender was kind a remixed one of our drinks when we asked to sweeten it. Just wish drinks came out faster. The other food was great! We had pastas, salmon, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. They were very tasty. If the service, and steaks were better, this place would be recommended as it had beautiful flavor. The steak would have been perfect too if they knew how to cook it!
