I didn't have a mask and a young gentleman behind the counter politely gave me a fresh mask. Some people are very strict & stern when it comes to wearing a mask in their establishment, so the fact that the gentleman wasn't rude, but instead simply nice was comforting! read more

The brisket was dry and covered in an indifferent mustard-based sauce. The pork had been stewed far too long in a steamer and was a little soupy. The macaroni and cheese was grainy and mediocre in flavor, and the green chile creamed corn was soupy and not great. All in all, hugely disappointing. read more

My wife and I came to Galveston from Milwaukee for a visit and of course had to experience some Texas BBQ. Queen's did not disappoint. The friendly staff recommended the Smoked Turkey Cliffhanger baked potato for my wife and I had the ribs, smoked sausage, brisket combo and a Tiki Wheat Galveston brewed beer to wash it all down. The food was incredible. Great flavor and incredibly tender meat. The BBQ sauce was amazing and the beer wenT perfect with BBQ. The mistake I make was I didn't get the Cliffhanger sandwich which is their specialty on Thursdays apparently. I ordered the combo which comes with 1 rib, brisket and smoked links. I was very disappointed with everything including the sauce which was light and didn't stick to the meat. The brisket tasted like last nights leftover which they reheated. They do have good service at the window and the people I was with enjoyed the Cliffhanger. I will probably not come back for the barbecue don't be the first in line. It's the driest & the most overcooked I've ever had. I can't even eat it. I understand using lean meat but at least don't over cook it! TGIF! Trying a new restaurant today in Galveston. Ordered the Fridays special "The Ham Chiffhanger" on a jalapeño bread and it was great! It was slightly burnt and areas of the sandwich didn't have any ham. But the sandwich tasted pretty good. It has ham, cheese, chives, and a ranch sauce. Also, got the Mac and cheese and that was ok but the baked beans were disgusting. Don't order the baked beans. I will try this place again and adjust my rating accordingly. read more

This was one my favorite places to go for lunch. There used to be lunch specials - NO MORE! I couldn't believe my ears when the lady told me it would be $22.46 for a chopped beef po-boy, small potato salad and a drink. Queen's has priced the locals out in favor of who? I don't know. I ordered a half pound of ribs, a quarter pound of brisket and a quarter pound of roast beef. The ribs were tough and didn't fall off the bone and the sauce was runny. The brisket was juicy and tender and full of flavor. the roast beef was tough as nails chewy and didn't really have a lot of flavor. They served the order quick but this is not the place to go for true Texas authentic barbecue, they're much better places around. read more

The closing time listed on all the websites is not correct. We had a 9 people birthday party convening there. The first three arrived and told them we had 9 people and even got the tables together. We all put the orders in and then my kids told me we were going to have to go to the beach or something to eat. I tried to cancel but they had already charged my card. I don't want to pay that kind of money to go eat my food at the beach in the dark with mosquitoes and stuff. I'm extremely disappointed. We went home and the birthday party was canceled. I threw a lot of money away. The food was not that great but that may be subjective. I hate to eat cold food and I like to eat my food fresh. We could have gone to so many other places. It's great the fact that they push out the orders fast but sometimes it's to fast, when I got my order it was cold in the middle of the mac and cheese, my plate of ribs, links, and brisket was just cold ( warm on top, but cold in the middle ) and this was 2 weeks ago and I decided to give this place another shot today and wanted to get just a simple loaded bake potato with French dip. 1: my potato was hard 2: the french dip had waaaaaay to much salt or whatever they put on it. The food is really really cheap for barbecue so with that being said ,the taste is not like other barbecue places that I have been to. The brisket reminded me of something I would pick up precooked at Sams Club but like I mentioned it was cheap for this kind of place so if your looking for cheap barbecue with friendly staff then go here. Average describes this place overall. The Turkey Cliffhanger with the jalapeno bun is pretty good especially when hot. A touch pricey in my opinion. Peach cobbler was not bad but nothing crazy at least in my opinion. 2x turkey sandwiches and a peach cobbler came out to around $24 or so. The food was fantastic especially the BBQ pork pulled pork sandwich and the Turkey cliffhanger - it is their specialty sandwich. The meet was deliciously tender. What to say about Queens BBQ........! We came here July 4 2023. Positives: the music (radio) was great! The overall atmosphere was not too bad. The Hurricane was pretty descent! (Frozen) I'm not sure if they do a regular one. Cons: it took almost 40 mins before our food came. A gentleman that had just got to his table with his order number got his food the same time we did. Someone certainly dropped the ball on that one! My potato salad looked as if someone had stuck there fist in it! Why bring it out looking like that! The ribs were well seasoned but dry. The brisket was also dry. The potato salad tasted as if they had a few ingredients missing. The greens were okay, full of meat but not flavor. My husband did not like his green beans. Also the bbq sauce was more like a Kansas City sauce. We like a thicker more red bbq sauce in texas. They should actually have both options. This place has been in business for a lot of years.
