I am very excited for Quincy's Uptown Bar and Grill in Damascus! I am not sure exactly how long they have been open, but I know they are relatively new. For anyone familiar with Quincy's Bar and Grill in Gaithersburg or Quincy's South Bar and Grill in Rockville, the Damascus location has its own menu, but continues to offer a variety of standard and creative American / Bar fare. It is a nice open and well lit interior with a mixture of table and booth seating in addition to bar seating. Drink and Beer specials appear to rotate depending on what is in season if you are looking for something local or new, other than the usual on tap, etc. I need to go back and try more, but for starters Quincy's Nachos are a generous portion, easily shared by 4 adults if you intend to eat other things as well. The Baltimore Crab Pretzel is filling enough for one to eat as an entree if you are in the mood for something a little different from either the crab cake platter or crab cake sandwich offerings also on the menu. It seems like they make a little of everything. If you want something just simple, the cheesesteak hit the spot as well! I am not sure if they have committed to certain hours of operation yet, but I think this is a welcome addition to Damascus and can't wait to try more!

The Return! Now with more family! My daughter wanted a salad with her kids grilled cheese but it's not included as a side without an up-charge. She would've liked it crispier but that's an easy fix if the cook wanted to put in a little bit more effort. The mezza plate was a good vegetarian option but it felt deconstructed. Maybe cutting the tomatoes, cucumbers and feta cheese into smaller pieces or asking if we would've liked them cut would help? The other idea was mezza kabobs! Still like the place, it's still new and hopefully uses some of these suggestions.

It's clean and the decor is very nice. It has a modern but homey feeling. The service was cool and the shrimp basket was delicious. The best fried shrimp I have ever had. It tasted extra crispy and fresh, the shrimp didn't taste mushy at all. Wasn't to crazy about the fries but everything else was great.

I drink unsweetened tea most of the time so I'm constantly waiting for a refill. The good ... the food is generally tasty. The Bad ... they are charging $32.00 for a 16oz ribeye. I know they use Mt Airy Meat locker for their beef. The steak was seasoned well but had a tiny sliver of a bone for what they called a bone in. Also .... The nickel and dining is ridiculous. You get one side. And they upcharge for mushrooms or onions. In comparison... Longhorn service a 20oz Ribeye with 2 sides and bread for $32.79 So I got the Ribeye and about 6 stalks of very tiny asparagus. I actually like the small asparagus but not 6 stalks??? As far as the steaks go ... don't give me the local meat BS or the cost for a small business. Side cost little ... salad and potatoes are cheap. We don't go to this place regularly because of this ... so we end up with a $72.00 bill (wife got a Cesar salad with shrimp) and seltzer water with a lime. Result ... have to make something to eat after we get home. After dropping nearly $90 after tip. My wife and I prefer to patronize local places but these owners are making it hard. I was going to order the chicken wings and a side salad .... But ...$24 for 12 half wings is beyond ridiculous. The wing shortage is over but many places are hanging on to the price increase ... I'd imagine because they think the customers are stupid. Out of curiosity... I shopped a pack of fresh wings at BJs wholesale club to see what wings are going for. The price for an 18 pack is around $8.00. And that would make 36 buffalo wings since you only get half. Disappointed... food that we did get was good ... but value is somewhere close to a zero!

This was our first time here, as on prior occasions we found the line too daunting. We were surprised when another 4:15pm patron was led to their reserved table, but we learned that their planning and caution was well-founded. We discovered the popularity of Bolder to be well-deserved. Seeking lite fare for an early dinner, calorie conscious, we both navigated the tempation-filled menu with success. We thoroughly enjoyed the bison burger and turkey club, the latter being sufficiently sample for a split lunch the next day too. Service was rock-solid and very efficient. We definitely hope to be back soon. And we will make a reservation. Dress code is casual.

It's a little bit off 70, but not bad. First off, this restaurant has an incredibly oversized parking lot. Maybe the restaurant has areas I didn't see, but I was a little bemused. Inside, it's decorated a bit like an old lady house with country accents. It's welcoming and nice, if a little old. I was seated and served quickly. My waitress was great. I ordered French onion soup and a bison burger with sweet potato fries. The French onion soup came out first. It had a huge layer of cheese on top, but it tasted like white cheddar. The soup itself was good at first but started getting bitter. I discovered a huge bay leaf in it. That explains that. Guys, leaving a bay leaf hidden in French onion soup is a violation of Article 35(2) of the Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions. My sweet potato fries were seasoned with a chipotle cinnamon blend. It was weirdly sweet and clashed with the burger. I didn't care for it and honestly feel like if you're going to season with something weird, you should be abundantly clear. The burger was a disappointment. It was fairly basic. It was cooked right, but every so often I would get a burst of salt. I suspect the meat was salted and not well mixed. My burger, fries, and side of soup came to over $40. I am honestly being more critical of them because of that. At that price point, I expect REALLY good, not salt pockets, a left-in bay leaf, and weird seasonings.

Great music! Excellent whiskies and beers. Ambiance like a really nice barn :-)…read more We wanted a Memorial Day (2025) daytrip from greater-Baltimore. Harper's Ferry is very close! Like an hour (ish) drive. So what's happening in HP? The Barn out Washington St. had a MemorialDay weekend all-day mostly-country music event 2pm to 10:30pm! Very nice. They have a great little bar inside, and sometimes have food from one of the restaurants across the parking lot, or just walk over for takeout, or i think i read that they deliver here. By the way, parking can get a little tight for a bigger event like this one, but we were early enough, maybe 1pm, and we scored a space when someone left. I might as well add that there's several clean restrooms sort of across from the bar. We settled into a huge comfy couch near the back of the hall, behind the seating for roughly 30 at tables and picnic tables. There was also seating for roughly 20 at tables out on a deck. The first solo singer-guitarist, D.C.'s Kate Smiles, had a lovely voice and sweetly original interpretations of rock and pop and country songs that i knew, and a presence that made me say, Hey, Wow, I can relax in this mellow mood with a really nice whiskey from a list that my local bar would envy. By the way, they were out of the local whiskey, Devil's Due, so i had a warming fiery oaky slightly-sweet Elijah Craig bourbon, neat, with a water back. Mmmmm. The second musician, W.V.'s Andrew Copenhaver, moved among soulful blues and country, some classics, some modern. He could put an edge on his voice, and he could hit some deep bass notes, so it was a real pleasure when he gave us Folsom Prison Blues. When you can hit that low note, you have a right to do some Johnny Cash. By now i was into some crisp local beers. That little bar really has everything, including a versatile bartender who made every drink we knew, and we sampled his skills as the third musician, NoVA's Mark Cullinane, took the stage. He had a wide range of country songs, including a moving original that made us feel we were driving in our pickup behind his dad's. He had a great rich tone and great range. Like the second musician, he used some kind of looper to create full layers of harmony. What with all the beverages, we started to fade a little as the music moved into the set by NoVA's seriously-country Rowdy Ace Band around 8pm. They really lit up the hall and the patio and probably a good piece of nearby Harpers Ferry. We eventually moved on to our reservations for dinner across the parking lot at Snallygaster's restaurant. But that's another story. We had a terrific afternoon and evening. The Barn will definitely be one of our go-to spots in this town, and we'll be looking to hear these musicians again!

But luckily for us, a tiny table fit only for two was available. It was all the way in the back! But that was totally fine. We liked our little corner. The place was definitely packed but our server never forgot about us. Back in our little corner were memorabilia from the local schools dating back to the 90's from what I can tell. It really had a nostalgic feel. To start we got the crabby rolls from the specials menu. It was more creamy than crabby. I tasted more of the cream cheese than any crab. For entrees we ordered the fish and chips and main street Madeira. The fish came in small filets that were the size of chicken tenders. Not a huge fan of the portion. The fries were soggy but glad that the coleslaw came in a lettuce pocket. At least that prevented the coleslaw liquid from seeping onto the fish and fries. The chicken madeira was fantastic. I almost never order chicken breasts fearing that it would be dry but this was not. The two breast meat was cooked in a madeira wine sauce topped with mushrooms and a mozzarella, fontina, and spinach cheese blend. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I can taste the lovely wine. Served along the dish was red mashed potatoes. I love red mashed potatoes because it has a bit of the skin. I liked this dish a lot! Service was attentive, friendly, and fast. This place is a neighborhood gem. Not sure about parking. There was some street parking and there may be a lot next to the restaurant but from the direction that we came, we ended up parking across the street.
