We called them to ask what could be done. They asked us to come in to pick up the sauce (which defeats the purpose of delivery). When we asked if they could compensate the meal in any way, they said they can give us a $5 gift card and we'd have to go there to pick it up. R&R offers a decent selection of classic BBQ: pork, brisket, ribs, etc. I've been here twice, and one visit the food was great, the other, the brisket had more fat than meat. Regardless, the flavor of the meats has been solid both times, with a few sauces that pair quite well with the smokey flavor. I wish the sides came in a little bigger portions, as it seems like they skimp out a little for the price you're paying for a combo plate. read more

I love myself some good BBQ, the only thing that makes me a little hesitant to eat it on the daily is the price to proportions! R&R is pretty good though, and you can find yourself some screaming deals. We usually find ourselves getting the family pack, which comes with 3 lbs is pulled pork (out of this world delish, it really is smoked well), a dozen dinner rolls (which is really just bagged rolls you can buy at the grocery store yourself), a quart of mashed potatoes and gravy (this has been a hit and a miss for me, sometimes they're really cooked well and other times the potatoes are dry), a pint of coleslaw (nothing to write home about), a bottle of sauce (your choice, and it's a full bottle so you'll definitely have extra!!), and some plates/forks/knives. I wish they threw in their beans though, those suckers are SO TASTY. You get all of this for $45! Pretty awesome, pretty worth it. The staff has always been helpful and kind. They make it easy to call ahead and pick up for take out. The restaurant is doing a great job at staying clean and masks/gloves are mandatory for the staff (which in my opinion, should continue even after COVID-19). Tips & Tricks: * The biggest tip: one of my favorite things to do is buy some pulled pork (you can get a pound for $13) and bring that home to make your own loaded nachos! Throw the oven on broil and let it simmer. * I'd pass on their Mac and Cheese, which is a bummer because that's my normal go to side at a BBQ joint. She asks a coworker and they said to order a "brisket salad" which is the same thing except it was $14. I mentioned the price difference but she didn't know so I let it go. My son orders and then I ordered a bowl, told her that one was to go. Then my husband orders, asked for his brisket wet. She asked a coworker and she said wet=chopped. We sit down and they bring our food (it was fast) but everything was wrapped to go. Then my husband starts eating and his brisket is sliced not chopped, even tho he specifically ordered chopped because she put in "sliced" on the receipt. They left the fries out of my son's order but brings it out separately later. No croutons on my salad so I go ask for some. They said it doesn't come with croutons, even tho description on the menu says it does. She gives me some. Then we get home and they left out the corn in the bowl. Me and my boyfriend both ordered the two meat plates. When we received our food, our food was cold, portions were tiny for the $60.00 we paid..the restaurant forgot our bbq sauce and drinks! On top of that, there was a hair in our food!!! We contacted the restaurant and talked with Jaydn the "assistant manager". Jayden sounded like he needs some additional training on proper customer service and like he was about 15 years old. This manager told me to contact DoorDash to solve the issue and that he's not able to do anything to correct the mishandling of our dinner that was at his establishment, on his watch. Manger also had a nonchalant whatever type of attitude and hung up on me. I will be contacting the corporate office. This is unacceptable and this restaurant is blacklisted. Unacceptable! read more

This place was great, the staff was friendly and the meats were wonderful! Clean space, great soda selection, and more food than you'll actually be able to eat. There was no bad choice for sides. The brisket was tender and juicy, all their sauces were so tasty... well, I didn't try the spicy one because I'm a baby, but the others were super good. The only thing we weren't impressed with were the rib tips. They were dry and I was actually surprised that they had them on the menu. They weren't just dry, they were inedible. But everything else (brisket chicken sausage) were all so good. We would go back, we just won't care about the rib tips. read more

So little update. Just from a 5 to a 4 star, only because there has been several times iv ordered and more times than not when i do get the banana pudding it's like all whipped cream. Welcome to Midvale! R&R is a great addition to the town. If you've never been, what are you waiting for? The meat is slow cooked to perfection. And the sauces are terrific-I prefer the original, but they are all tasty. I'm not a fan of cheese, but my wife loves the mac and cheese. It does look good! If you're planning on visiting during peak times, try to go early. They often sell out of the best stuff fast. (Let's be real though-it's all good stuff!) R&R when it was just the downtown location was the best BBQ in Utah. Now, it seems no matter which R&R location we try the meat is overcooked and flavorless. We ordered brisket, pulled pork and chicken for pickup. I like chopped, moist (fatty) brisket which is what I ordered. What I got were dried out chunks of brisket that were almost inedible. The pulled pork was also dry and flavorless. The seasoning on the chicken was good with a bit of spice, but it was way overcooked and tasted like it was yesterday's leftovers. After trying multiple R&R locations now over the last few years, I don't think there is anyone left at R&R that is paying attention to quality at any of them. read more

Hey, fellas. I dig the new place. I like this layout, and I think the size of this place is pretty darn perfect. We came in with a group of 8 and there are tables that will accommodate that many, which was great. It's a nice mix of high tops and regular tables, so we found a section and made it work. It wasn't too massive, though, to make you feel like it's just a big unmanageable crowd. As always, the food was terrific. I tried a friend's rib, but for myself ordered the burger with blue cheese. I'm not sure why I have never ordered the burger before, except to say that I always want something more traditional 'cue-y like brisket, but that burger hit the spot tonight. Generous toppings, thick tomato, great pickles. But the real reason for the high praise is that your crew was on top of their game! We came in at 6:30 right at the beginning of a big crowd, and they were slaying it. The burger took a little longer to cook (7-8 mins?) but everyone else was getting there food pretty darn immediately and we were all happy about that. The kids working there were hustling, efficient, and on task. I know upening new places (especially at your pace!) can be hard, and take a while for things to click, but at least tonight they were firing on all cylinders. See you around town, guys. This new location has great design inside and a really cool atmosphere. The menu is a little overwhelming, you order off the menu board above the checkout, but they've got plenty of great options. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese. There was a variety of 4 BBQ sauces on the table, as well as a much needed roll of paper towels. The chicken was delicious, as were the sauces (I tried all of them, of course). I also sampled some tacos from here - I thought they were delicious. 4 stars for the main course. However the macaroni was not great, I'd give it 1 star - overcooked pasta, with gluey, bland, starchy "cheese" mixed in. Definitely room for improvement there. The service was friendly, the seating is good for small groups. It's kind of loud in here, but I came in during the lunch rush. But we got the chance to dine inside at lunch and it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant was very clean. I got the nachos with brisket, it was a very large serving, easily could feed two people. I thought there was a little more nacho cheese then I would typically like. There was plenty of brisket that was cooked perfectly. My husband got the two meat plate with mac and cheese. We both liked the sausage. We shared a peach cobbler which was very tasty. I always really want to like R&R, I really do. It's hard to find good BBQ in Salt Lake, and this one is a mere "okay." I would never recommend ordering them. The next time I had rib tips and the flavor was there, but they were impossible to chew. I only ordered them because they were a special and the cashier recommended I try them. I wish I went with my gut and just ordered the burger that had pulled pork on it. If you have to go there, that's 100% what I would go with. I've had it a couple times, and it's pretty good! The fries sucked. Period. Just mushy and hardly fried. We ordered delivery and our meat plates were completely wrong (one was supposed to be a 1 meat plate with chopped brisket, the other was supposed to be a 2 meat plate with sliced brisket and ribs. I pay extra to get chopped brisket with my three meat order and I would say that 50% of the time it's dry and lacking fat and is even brown in color.
