I dropped into this place with my family and was impressed overall with the food, the service, and the environment. The amazing smell of bbq smacks you in the face as soon as you walk in, activating your saliva glands and bringing a smile to your face. The line was super quick and before I made it back to my table with the drinks the food was waiting for us. I got the three meat plate to share with my wife and my son got the kids nuggets with Mac and cheese. The meat was great and the fries nice and crispy, just the way I like them. The ambiance was nice and we really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. Thanks to the TV screen behind our table, we also learned that there is a professional corn hole league. Who knew!?! I had an amazing recent experience at R&R BBQ in Midvale. I placed an order over the phone, and when I went to pick it up, I realized I had called the South Jordan location rather than the Midvale location. They called the other location, cancelled my order, and remade my order for me. It was done so quickly and they were so kind! Sigh. What happened to this brand? It used to be consistently some of the best food (not just bbq) in the Salt Lake valley. Went there tonight for dinner and walked out $45 later and pretty disappointed. Was directed to order for dine in at a register. Waited 10 minutes while they tried to figure out togo orders. Turns out they gave out the wrong food to the wrong drivers. Finally ordered. They got ride of the amazing red beans and rice. Life happens. Waited another 15 minutes or so for food. Finally got it. Chicken was dry. Pork was undersmoked. Mac and Cheese is full of fake cheese and its gritty, which means the sauce wasn't made right. If they made the sauce in house, which seems doubtful at this point. All of that I can chock up to an off night. Life happens. But then they told me they were out of BBQ sauce. Wait. Out. Of. BBQ Sauce. At a BBQ place. That is a prime example of management not knowing how to do their job. Its a Wednesday night with moderate business. There is literally no reason for them to be out of a key part of the bbq experience save for a KM or GM/AGM not knowing how to do orders right. Its a branded sauce. This was my first time here. I took my son and his wife here for a birthday lunch. They've been before and like it here. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of creamed corn and hush puppies. The creamed corn was delicious, unfortunately that's the end of the good part of this review. The brisket sandwich was very, very fatty with a few stands of meat, and not very flavorful. The hush puppies were incredibly dry, like sawdust balls. My son and his wife ordered different dishes, I don't recall what, but they enjoyed it. He also enjoyed the chicken wings we received as a Yelp perk. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. This is the first time we've been to the new location on 7200 S. We ordered 2 meals, both of us had ribs as one item. One plate was perfect. The other plates ribs were dry and overdone. So tough I couldn't eat them. I took it to the counter and let them know. The worker at the counter responded with "no they aren't. They just came off," and went back to her cell phone. I replied that they were not good, she looked up from her phone and said "ok. I'll let the pit master know." And went back to her phone. The sides were good, the other items were good. The ribs on the other plate were even good. The response from the worker will likely keep me from ever going back to this location. read more

After not recieving it after a few weeks I called back and was told by Eric they don't send gift cards anymore and they wouldn't compensate me at all for their screw up. The help would rather talk to their friends, be distracted on the phone, and it is apparent that they have not even been trained in the menu and the items that they sell, so be prepared to tell them what you want and just exactly how their place of business works because the attendance really have no idea. Which is super strange, because I would hope that the food, which again is a solid four stars, would be able to attract better employees. The last time I was there they were out of almost everything but then I found out, they weren't out of everything it was simply that the cook no longer wanted to make a burger! What in the world! If you are open for business, why wouldn't you be able to make the food that you have in your refrigerator and that a customer is willing to pay $20 for you to handover to them?
