The food is amazing. I love the service at both the Cafe Bernardo and R15 bar side. The staff are super nice, friendly, and helpful. Their bartender, Chelsea, is really nice and makes good drinks. During the day, the vibe is chill and open. I do not prefer the evening crowds as it can be a bit chaotic (and I'm getting too old for some of that). I think my visit was just under 20 minutes, since my fambam and I came in for our last drink of the night. Major, major sausage fest maybe because it was Monday Night and football was on all TVs, but if your a dude trying to eat and enjoy some eye candy, this is not the spot for you. We decided to celebrate my friends 30th birthday rather last minute and R15/ Cafe Bernardo were super accommodating and truly amazing. Even being that it was last minute I'm a week night. The staff was such a pleasure to be around and truly seems like they cared about our experience. The food and drinks were both delicious and appetizers reasonably priced. We all ordered something different and were highly impressed. We even got dessert to go because it looked so good! If you haven't been here: GO. They recently remodeled and the place is so charming. Great bar located on the corner of R street! My first time here and it did not disappoint. Saturday afternoon was slower than I would have expected but it gave me the chance to get a good seat at the bar for the Sharks game. Bartenders are super friendly and very attentive when your drink is running low. I ordered two green apple ciroc and 7s, both were made with way more vodka than 7. While we didn't order any food the menu looks pretty tasty for bar food. There are also pool tables in the back and special couch seating with your own personal TV. I was here about a month ago when the seating was outside. Is it weird that I think this is an upgrade? So the bf and I had finally decided to just hang out again in public, and came here. There were tons of people as we'd expect. To get seated, we had to wait by the sidewalk which is understandable during this pandemic. They have to find a spot/table that is 6 ft away from other guests, and sanatize it before letting us sit. Our waiter was very friendly which is a big plus seeing how they were super busy that night. I didn't sense any urgency, annoyance, or negativity from him. Come to think of it, the staff that night was all like that. We ordered a few drinks and a couple of side dishes and went on our way. There is nothing to complain about with the food. I believe we ordered wings that night and I remember thinking it's pretty good for bar food. The restroom is located inside and they do have signs up reminding you to put on your mask when entering the building. There were no customers seated inside, no games open, and only staff. Luckily for me it was Taco Tuesday and Margarita night, so of course I had to get the three street tacos and a margarita. We each had the tacos he ordered a beer and I the margarita. Then being that the tacos are a bit small we had a order of the bar fries, which were very flavorful and fresh. They are crispy fries, with smoked cheddar sauce, bacon, pickled jalapeños, and scallions. Very good I could not stop eating them. Came here to watch the San Jose Sharks playoff game and they changed the channel before the game was over. There was literally 2 minutes left of the game and they said that they had to change the channel to music videos. Definitely don't come here for games! Before this I had to ask for ranch at least 3 times from 2 different people, even though I asked for it when I ordered my wings. Except for R15 during happy hour. These deals are insanely good, and what's even more insane is the TLC the chef puts into his work. The chef hand delivers your order to your table and brings your cutlery, all the while discussing your preferences and being really humble that he created the dish that you're salivating over. Trust me, you will salivate. There are pool tables here which is cool, but people can be ball-hogs so they're not available most of the time. It's okay though, because there's so much more to R15 than pool. R15 just remodeled its entire blueprint, so the space feels really open, with high ceilings and family-style tables. They have a hard kombucha which is pretty epic. It's very centrally located next to other attractions on R St. so you can bar hop if you'd like to switch it up. All in all, R15 is an amazing catch that I recommend you reel in while you're around! read more

There should be a sign inside this place highlighting their lemon drops. They are that good. A few of my friends live close to R15 so this place is a favorite of ours. They usually choose beer but I usually come away with a lemon drop at some point because they use fresh lemon juice, a chilled glass, and the results are phenomenal in my opinion. I recommend R15 whenever someone from out of town is looking for a down-to-earth bar or a comfy place to hang out with friends. They have a solid list of beer on tap, TV screens in the bar area and around the pub tables and an adjoining room to the left with 4 pool tables and at least one more TV. The bartenders are always friendly to us and greet us with a smile, and we have never had to wait more than a few minutes on a busy night for a drink. It can definitely get packed in here too during big games or on the weekends, but it's a fun atmosphere and there is a patio out front for more room. The one time I tried their food, I wasn't a fan so that's why my rating is 4 stars so far, but for drinks and a relaxed night out, I will always recommend coming here. read more

by far my favorite spot in sac. i've come so often i've accumulated $60 in rewards points! i absolutely love the 3 different sides of the restaurant and how each carries a different vibe. I perfer the bar and pool table side, Nikki and Kevin are always phenomenal, great service and great drinks. but the only reason I can't give 5 stars is the music! This place would be so much more inviting to younger crowds if the music wasn't so slow and outdated. I'm here on a Friday afternoon for a game of pool but I feel like falling asleep. I haven't heard a single song I'm familiar with since being here. The morning and afternoons are so hit or miss, for every 3 bad songs I'll head one good one. Café Bernardo's is by far my favorite family run chain in downtown Sacramento, and R 15 is my favorite location! There are a number of reasons to love Café Bernardo's R15: *Menu is the same at all location but this bar has an additional bar eats and Happy Hour menu after 3:00 pm *The staff is great, especially my gal: Claire. She works earlier in the week dealing with the lunch crowds. She remembers my drink and food orders (rarely ever order anything other than the Mushroom Jarlsberg Cheese Salad and the Kale Caesar Salad). *This location is more of a sports bar so there are a number of TVs surround the bar and pool tables in the back. *Nice patio to sit and people watch. Overall a great spot to have lunch, bar hop, watch the game or play pool. The perks of it being a Café Bernardo helps because the food comes from the connected Café. read more

That would make Randy P sad. =( Not only does no want Randy P sad, but also it makes one less decent place to watch sports. Yup, good sports TV viewing is found here. I got crazy excited about getting up at the crack of dawn and watching World Cup futbol here. I've also enjoyed American football viewing at R15 as well.
