Positive reviews don't live up to the hype. Poor diagnostics, inexperienced service advisors, poor quality parts used, rusted on car almost immediately. Got the run around on a simple issue (which was not fixed correctly the first time), and ended up spending more money due to misdiagnosis. Had to take to another shop to get fixed correctly. Not going back to Raceway. Beware, better shops out there with more experienced staff willing to make it right. read more

As a woman, I really appreciate Raceway. We've used them for a long time and they're like a well-kept secret. They don't lick their lips and wring their hands when a female walks in, unlike many other automotive businesses that like to prey on women and work up the visit to a frenzy. They are honest, good people here. They tell you what you need and what can wait. They also do some car repair work here. They don't advertise that part of the business much, as it's not equipped with many bays in that area. For repair work, schedule ahead. They are often pleasantly busy. For oil changes and the like, you can generally get in the day you'd like to. Don't hesitate to drop by. You will find their red and white signature cars out front! I had my SUV towed from Fort Collins because I had heard great reviews from my neighbors. When we arrived, both the front and back lots were completely full which was a good sign. They allowed me to drop the vehicle off anyway but I expected to wait a long time to get my vehicle back. Not only did they get to it the next day, they did some major work (timing belt and crankshaft position sensor) and returned the vehicle to me the next day. During the diagnosis and repair, Steve kept me informed the whole time including how much it might cost. The vehicle runs great and they charged me less than the original estimate. A poorly made key caused my 1999 Lexus to "lock up" and I was unable to start my car. I called Raceway to see if they had any suggestions and since I live just a few blocks away, they came to my residence and fixed the problem! Raceway lube is hands down one of the best experiences when getting our car serviced. Steve was amazing, honest and never pushing anything that we didn't need, in fact there was some issues but he felt they didn't need to be dealt with until later on down the "road". I can surely bet if we would of brought it to the dealership they would of had a laundry list of the exact same things and then some that needed attention now. I was a single mom with 4 teenage daughters. We bought a used Mitsubishi Galant which required a major service-replace the radiator, water pump and timing belt. ($1300) I have a bill from Raceway stating that these services were performed. 30,000 miles later the radiator blew up. When we took it in for service, the mechanic said the radiator was not replaced, just patched, which is why it blew up. Now the water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced. We are paying $1300 for those two services, which should have already been done and we should not have to redo these repairs. A couple of years ago, another daughter took her car in for repairs and was told that all 4 motor mounts need to be replaced for $1,000. I took the car for a second opinion. Only one needed to be replaced for a couple hundred dollars. I think these stories speak for themselves. I would never go here or recommend that anyone else ever go here for any reason. read more

Not 3 weeks after the move my car broke down Bob at Raceway dropped me off and picked me up when my car was ready. Since then I've come again and again. Perhaps the worst mechanics in town. Went in for a simple radiator flush. Now the spout on the radiator is broken. Car had to be towed because low on coolant and oil thermostat was not operating. Additionally fans on the radiator after work had been completed now are constantly operating. read more

Every time it did Bob got it back to her as soon as possible and did his best to ensure she would be able to afford every repair, whether it was a simple oil change or a new alternator, Chelsea only went to raceway. When I started bringing my car there for oil changes I was immediately impressed by the staff. They were professional, courteous, and incredibly knowledgable. I felt like a friend first and a customer second, which is a rare gem to find in our customer service driven world. What is most impressive is how nice they are, in most situations they will pick you up and drop you off wherever you need to go. I explained my situation and he walked me through it and what he thought it would take. He mus have spent 10-15 minutes on me and because I was leaving town, he wouldn't be able to help me. I would be hesitant to take my vehicle here. Some say they don't try to squeeze money out of you, but I am a machanic who has taken my vehicle there for the past couple of years. They have definately tried to do repairs that were not necessary, and today, they stripped the threads on my oil pan drain plug. They offered to replace it, at a huge price. The salesman even tried to tell me that aluminum drain pan threads wear out with time. If you overtorque anything, of course it will wear out with time, but it is not a natural occurance. I came into the shop with the original plug, and left with a rubber plug. Who is to blame? Seems simple to me. Why, as a mechanic, didn't I change the oil myself, you ask? I work in aviation and lately haven't had time to maintain my vehicles. Now I will have to make the time again because the most trusted service shop in the area, simply can't be trusted. read more
