I'm sitting here now. It's been over 3 hours. They seemed very knowledgable about the rack I needed and so I purchased from them. It was a significant purchase too, over $1000. But it was exactly what I needed. I came back for installation that was supposed to be easy and take 1 1/2 or 2 hours (because they were very careful and go slow). These guys are awesome. I have to say I was impressed with how helpful they were. Chris was especially friendly and helpful. Throughout the process he was very helpful and thoughtful about their service and ensuring I was taken care off. I came in on July 3rd at 5:50pm (they were closing at 6pm) right before the July 4th holiday. I was in need of having the racks installed for the long weekend. These guys could have turned me away because they were getting ready to close and take off for the holiday, but instead Evencio, Trevor and Chris all decided to take the time to help out and get my car all set up. They ended up finishing around 6:30pm and I loved the Thule Aeroblade setup. Really appreciate the knowledge, expertise and service they guys provided. This is 3nd car I've gotten done there and I always go back because of their willingness to help and get me taken care off. I'll start by saying that the person who helped me was very courteous and gave me the impression that he was knowledgeable. Unfortunately he quoted me $800 for a whispbar system for my car. First I was able to find the same product online only for almost $200 less than what these guys were selling it to me. Secondly he said that the ONLY way to install it was to drill some holes on the roof of my car. The one I found on the internet came with adaptors specifically for my car without needing to drill any holes. This makes me think that he either had very poor knowledge on the products that they sell or that they try to sell you an expensive installation that isn't necessary. In the end I saved $500 and got exactly what I was looking for. Do your research first and don't go to them for advise. Buy from them only if their price is competitive. Besides none of their products are hard to install and you shouldn't need to have an installation done. read more

I purchased a Thule sports rack system. The mounting parts for my 2012 Kia Soul had to be ordered. The parts arrived in a few days. They installed the racks in less than a half an hour. The racks look solid and substantial. They also spent several minutes reviewing the sports rack and gave me tips for attaching gear to them! Stopped in to see if they happened to have some used replacement parts for my long-discontinued Thule rack system. They didn't have any used parts, but the super-friendly staff looked through their extensive back room supply and found the exact parts I needed, brand new! Brought my new Honda Fit in for them to install a track rack and Thule Aeroblades. They did a great job and the install looks fantastic, I am looking forward to using it! The only negative point is that they left a few small indents on the thin metal above the doors, but those are hard to see. Doing more research on the dings, it looks like it may be a fault of the car itself being easy to dent with just the resting of an arm or tool. They were very nice about the whole thing and I appreciate their willingness to work with me! That being said, ask for one of the younger guys if you want someone to help you. I had bought a Curt trailer hitch for my 2014 Jeep GC and had it installed here. The install price wasn't bad however I got pulled over by a cop due to the fact that my trailer lights weren't working later that month. I took it back to them and asked them to check it out, they said their harness they installed worked just fine and they had tested the wiring job before I took deliver and it was my Jeep's wiring was faulty. I just took the Jeep into the dealership and they said in order for the wiring to work they needed to activate it in the software. I am not a fan of a shop that doesn't check their work and lies to me about verifying that it worked at time of install. read more

Great customer care. Below experience I had in Dec 2016 - Took me a while to write this review. I've lost my rack keys (rack had not been bought with them) and needed replacement with urgency for a trip. Searched everywhere and no one had the model I needed or could get it on time for my travels. The manager said he could place an order and have it in a couple of days so I confirmed it. A couple of days later when I called and he did not have the keys yet, instead of finding an excuse he admitted it had been his mistake (he forgot to place the order on the same day I ordered) and promptly tried to understand my exact need in order to find any other possible solution. Result: he understood I had a trip and needed to carry 2 snowboards - and provided me a rack at no cost for my 2-week trip. Everyone can do mistakes, but how you deal with them it what makes the difference. The set of keys I needed costed less than $10 and they went above and beyond to gain a customer. A great shop. They have installed several roof racks on different pick-ups and canopies for me over the last 12 years. All worked great. Why they couldn't do it right the first time baffles me. Once I wrote the review below, they called and said they wanted to make things right. So I took the Highlander there one more time and they installed the part I had purchased for free. I appreciate the follow up but still am not sure of them. Original Review: Don't take your Highlander here to have a hitch and 7 way wiring done. First appointment, they didn't do the 7 way wiring. Second they installed the 7 way too far left. When I hitched my trailer up, the 7 way cable pulled out after a turn so I was driving without signals or brakes. When we stopped and zipped tied the connection to make sure it would stay, the 7 way cable connector started to pull off the plastic bumper to which it was attached. I went in today to get them to repair it, they said that this Is the way they do all Highlanders and no one else had an issue. They wanted to sell me a 7 way extension for $60. I went to Toyota parts and they found a curt part that allows the 7 way to be by the hitch. read more

These guys are just great!! We have a new model car with a newly designed roof rack, and we are just getting back into biking, so we stopped at Rack N Road to see what we can do about transporting our bikes. I was very clear to them that I did not want anything to touch the pain of our new Audi or to remove any component of the existing cross bars/racks. I cannot believe how friendly and helpful the staff was at this store. I knew that we were going to pay a ton for our roof rack solution but the manager helped with our choices to keep the cost down, while still meeting our needs. He was even able to help us with looking up our discount code that we forgot. There were two issues with our setups. Both issues were due to suppliers getting stuff wrong, or forgetting to ship a particular item with the other items. Our kit is now installed and has happily carted our kayaks to and from their first two trips. No issues now that the store was able to fix all of the little things. read more

We decided to install a hitch and a rack for 2 bikes in our car because it was cheaper comparing with the roof rack. They installed as ordered using the right hitch, but unfortunately it was doing a lot of noise when the exhaust hit on the hitch. So, they tried twice to solve the problem, but it didn't work well. Probably it is the manufacturer's fault because the service was really good. Anyway... we decided to try to return the product and install the roof rack. As I said, the roof rack was more expensive, but they exchanged the rack and we didn't pay anything else! Even the service that was already paid, we didn't lose money at all. If We had decided to buy the roof racks on the Internet and installed by ourselves, I think we would have wasted money. Wow what service. Bought rails for my cayenne. Needed them fitted and also needed crossbars to carry roof top box. Went into Rack N Road to get some help. Met with Josh who was very helpful in advising me on which crossbars to buy. Was quoted a price and returned 2 weeks later to have rails installed. Although there was initially some confusion on the instal -Josh filled through/got the rails installed then the crossbar. Yesterday I called there with an minor issue I had with my cargo top that I purchased there about 3 years or so ago (it had slowly shifted slightly to one side during the past 3 years), and they told me come in, no appointment necessary. I asked if had to bring my original receipt and they said no, even though it was years ago that I bought my cargo top there. Josh was so friendly when I got there, repositioning and tightening the cargo top, and replacing one of the aging hinges inside, all with no appointment and no waiting. Installation was great! Sales guy super shady... I purchased a ski rack for my wifes car and naturally asked what kind of discount I could get if I had a hitch installed at the same time as a ski rack.. The sales guy there immediately accomodated with an immediate discount if I bought it all together, I was excited as I felt I recieved a great deal. They took my car for the day. I received a phone call from the sales guy saying that my car was ready, when I got there I went in and paid, and then went outside to look at my new ski rack and hitch. But as I was getting closer I was noticing, that the rubber on the ski rack was a dull black, like it had been in the sun for a signficant amount of time. (Almost looked like there was a coating of powder on it), then as I got closer I started noticing rock chips on the rack itself.. I immediately turned around and went back into the store and said that I think they made a mistake because the rack installed clearly was used. The sales guy got instantly defensive and said, "They are, thats why I was able to give you a discount".. WAIT WHAT? After arguring with him on it, and telling him I feel like he was pulling one over on me, I wasnt there to buy old racks, thats what craigslist is for. He finally agreed to swap them out for "new" racks... but I would have to pay more because then the discount wouldnt apply.. He said over and over, "I thought you knew they would be used"... Take this feedback as you wish.. But if you ask for a discount for a bulk purchase, make sure you specify that you would like to purchase new products.. read more

Hitch and Hassle - drove many extra miles to have them install a hitch because they seemed to have good service. Instead, I was told they did not have the reducing adapter they promised and were unwilling to ship it to me to save another drive out there. They gave me someone else's receipt and attempted to charge me for the adapter they did not have. Should have saved the extra time and miles and gone to my local UHaul, where Yelp reviews assured me I would get the same poor service. read more
