Definitely coming back! For my Friday company breakfast, I got a Wake Up 1 with prosciutto, side of fruit, and an iced latte delivered to my home. All items were absolutely delicious. The Wake Up 1 is the perfect breakfast sandwich - tasty, filling, and different than other breakfast sandwiches around! The fruit was a good mix (blueberries, sliced strawberries, and a sliced orange). The iced latte was creamy and just the right amount of sweet. They didn't overdo the ice either. Update: this place ALWAYS does everything RIGHT!!! They're being extra careful with precautions weary of COVID-19 (only 2 customers allowed inside at a time to order) & obviously masks required. This time I ordered Montreal Bagel & it was perfect! The perfect amount of cream cheese and the balsamic glaze with tomato and basil was so refreshing. I was worried it may have been a weird flavor to have for breakfast, but it was actually delicious! Our group of 5 went early Sunday morning so parking out front was easy and there was no wait. Our food was delivered to our table quickly and everything was delicious. The portions were good sized. There is very limited seating inside and the line to order could make it more cramped. We sat outside where there was plenty of tables and shade. Highly recommend and we will be back! read more

The food is amazing and the service is so fast, friendly/ fabulous! Those baristas are so kind and generous with the coffee serving. The ambiance is cozy and kinda steam punky, or rather rail side chic? The train is supposed to stop there from now on, can't wait to just take the metro all the way to my favorite cafe spot. Study on my way to work there, and then avoid traffic taking the train. LA is so congested it's almost unbearable. This cafe makes it worth the commute honestly. Jordan and Amanda are such a power couple, so nice and welcoming. I hope we get more ma and pa shops like this. My friend recommended this place 3 years ago and I've gone ever since. read more

Love this little spot! Its located in great little area where there are shops and great people. It's buzzing with activity and you can enjoy the scenery as you sit outside under their umbrella tables. They have great options for drinks, from hot chocolate to a cappuccino or latte. And they have delicious options for snacks or breakfast. If you get a croissant breakfast you love the soft flakiness as you sink your teeth into it. Rail Side Cafe's 700th review! :D I was looking up spots for lunch in the San Dimas area and came across this café. My family wanted something fast yet tasty, but the choices were pretty slim in this area. The reviews for this place seemed super promising, which is pretty much what won me over. The café is located in the corner spot, with a good number of parking spots. There's outdoor seating as well as some tables inside. Menu is written across a huge whiteboard; order at the register and wait for the food to be brought out to your table. The café is pretty small though, with a very small kitchen space. It's amazing the different items they can whip out! Belgium Waffles: $8.99 and comes with 4 slices of bacon or a sausage patty (can also get fresh fruit for an additional cost). I thought the waffles were pretty delicious. Loved that the outside was crispy yet the inside retained a spongy and soft texture. Pairing the waffle with the butter and syrup - super tasty! The bacon on top was on the thin side, but tasted quite good and contrasted well with the sweetness of the waffle. USA Melt: $9.79 for roast beef, aged cheddar and pesto on top of a grilled ciabatta. All sandwiches come with either pretzels, fruit, or cucumbers so we opted for the pretzels. For $10, I thought the sandwich was alright. Nothing special, but they did give us a good amount of roast beef. Having it in between a thick ciabatta bun wasn't the best because the bread was so dry. I really wanted some olive oil or something to dip the bread into. The house seasoned pretzels were quite tasty though - reminded me of the honey mustard flavoring on Synder's pretzels. Prosciutto Panini: $9.69 another sandwich on ciabatta bread along with prosciutto, mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, basil, and olive oil. My sister mixed up her meats and thought prosciutto was something else, so she was pretty disappointed with the sandwich. I don't normally enjoy prosciutto on a sandwich, so I did think the flavors were a little strange. But I really loved the sun-dried tomatoes. This sandwich was even drier than the USA Melt. After a few bites, I really craved for some soup. The taste was decent, but I would pass on this in the future. We chose fresh fruit for our side, which was a small cup of strawberries. The workers here are really friendly and nice. The owner even came to talk to us and introduce us to his son, which I thought is something only small businesses can do! This places super cute and has such nice outdoor seating! The workers are very nice and helpful too and give recommendations! They also serve breakfast and lunch the whole time they are open so don't worry about a cut off time. The wake up 1 was really good with the prosciutto and would def recommend. Had breakfast here with my wife recently. I'm not sure what we were expecting, but the menu selection felt limited. I ordered a croissant sandwich and wasn't blown away. The menu is just above the front counter on the wall, in big bold lettering, so it was very easy to read through the options and ingredients. The person behind the counter was so nice and informed me of the popular items on the menu. Mom, brother, and I went with the Locomotive on an everything bagel with gravy on the side. My sister went with the Turkey Panini. We also ordered Iced Chai Tea and Matcha Lattes, with an iced Americano for mom. The toddler had the waffle plate with sausage and a Martinelli's apple juice. After ordering, we paid and waited on the patio with our table number. The drinks came out first, brought to us by the staff, and we were all so impressed with how good they were! The Chai was very flavorful, but not overpowering and perfect for the warm weather. My mom loved her iced Americano because it was robust, strong, and the quality was evident. My sister and I absolutely LOVED the Matcha latte. It was SO good and was perfect being iced - the flavor did not get watered down at all. I would definitely return just for the Matcha latte. And of course my toddler loved her apple juice. The food! Oh so good! 3 of us opted for the same exact meal (The Locomotive) and the only thing we felt missing would have been cheese, although the gravy was perfect for dipping. The quality of the ingredients was obvious in the flavor and consistency. Boar's Head bacon was cooked to perfection and sausage patty was very tasty. Everything bagel was very good and held up well, even getting drenched in gravy. It was a satisfying sandwich that left us fatisfied. My sister's Turkey Panini was crazy good! The ciabatta was fresh because it was perfectly crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside. It had a beautiful pesto sauce, layered with lettuce and a generous portion of turkey deli meat, served with a side of baked seasoned pretzels. The Turkey Panini is popular because it's so dang good and filling! Lastly was the waffle - I'll be getting one for myself in the future. It was crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, followed by a nice flavor - definitely toddler approved! I'm so happy I had the chance to support this local small business! I ordered a turkey panini for brunch. For a sandwich that costs $15, it was dry and not tasteful, because the restaurant had forgotten to put Swiss cheese inside. I complained to a young man and a young lady at the counter; they said nothing and weren't apologetic at all. The lady (looked annoyed) then brought me a small plastic container of melted Swiss cheese (she probably just melted some cheese in the microwave). The attitude was really unpleasant, and they hardly did anything to make me feel welcomed and appreciated. I will definitely not go back to this restaurant again. read more

Came here for lunch and got a decaf soy latte and the pastrami melt. The pastrami melt was really good. Good portion for lunch. Sides could use a bit of work (choice of only fruit, in-house made pretzels, or cucumbers). Cucumbers aren't really a side...it costs less than 80 cents at a supermarket! My decaf latte didn't taste so good. A bit watered down compared to other coffee houses I've been to which their decaf tastes just as good as caffeinated coffee. I liked the outdoor dining. Plenty of seating and spaced apart well. Parking was extremely easy on a Friday afternoon. I had a good experience here, but will continue to venture out and discover other lunch spots. Love everything about Rail Side, and been going there over 6 years! The owners are super friendly (same with all the staff), the food is amazing, the atmosphere is great! It is a small cafe, but in a cozy, "know you by name" sort of way. We love sitting outside and enjoying breakfast and coffee. My favorite go to is Aracely's PB Mocha blended, and a wake up number 1 with bacon, on gluten free bread... THAT'S RIGHT, THEY HAVE GF BREAD!!!! Cute little spot in the San Dimas neighborhood. First off, there's plenty of free street parking so that's already a big thumbs up. It's a dog friendly spot with more outdoor seatings to accommodate customers who bring their fur babies along than indoor seating. There's water bowls for the pups to relieve their thirst. You order inside at the register. The gentleman at the register was friendly and greeted his customers upon entrance. I ordered the turkey caprese panini and a matcha latte. The panini sandwiches (2 pieces) were pretty big and thick. They were not stingy on the turkey. The pesto sauce was just right. The only thing is it would've been better if the mozzarella cheese was thicker to add a more prominent texture in the mouth. I ordered a less sugar matcha latte (they don't have a choice for unsweetened) and less whip cream. I enjoyed the creamy matcha very much. I asked for water for my pooches. The same gentleman at the register brought a bowl of water for my two pooches and they were happy as the gulped down the water in seconds. The most enticing thing about this place is its spacious outdoor patio seating -- the red umbrella-clad tables lure you in and invite you to slow down and relax. Add to that a solid coffee menu, complimentary wifi, and friendly service, it easily becomes the place to while away a lazy afternoon, the "office" for the day, or the meet-up spot among friends and family. I came on a Saturday morning and had a wonderful breakfast, coffee, and complimentary coffee cake (from my yelp check in). This place offers an array of sandwiches, salads, and pastries. The coffees are a bit expensive but overall good. I had the wrap which comes with egg whites and sausage.. it was pretty packed with fillings all wrapped in a pressed spinach tortilla. My favorite though was my bite of the breakfast sandwich #1.. the croissant was so flaky and buttery as it should be. The complimentary coffee cake was a winner as well.. very dense with a great crumble on top.. I just wish I wasn't so full from my breakfast so I could have enjoyed more of it. I enjoyed sitting in the outdoor seating area with my boyfriend and dog.. listening to the French music play from the speakers. I'm guessing maybe the owners are French?
