It's a small place for inside seating but definitely has that french train station cafe vibe going with plenty of seating outside underneath big trees for shade. In my case, the rain. The menu reminded me of Urth Cafe and looked good. I just went with a drip and scone to drink outside. Cost was $9 Boy was I pleased to see how they served my scone. A nice touch to add some fruit to my hearty great tasting scone. Coffee was great too. I can't wait to bring my wife back to explore the menu. Came here recently for a brunch with friends. I've been wanting to try it since I moved, but just hadn't gotten around to it. I decided to go with the Locomotive, which is bacon, sausage, and eggs on a croissant. Normally they put country gravy on it, but I asked for it on the side, so I could dip as I pleased! It was very tasty. I love a good breakfast sandwich and this one fit the bill! All of the workers were very friendly and helped us with recommendations. I can't remember what everyone else ate, but there were zero complaints! There were a few seats inside and several tables and chairs outside to eat at. Let be be first to say I LOVE to support local businesses, so I decided to try Railside Cafe on my way to work today, instead of my usually Starbucks run. Walking in the ambiance and decor was nice. I ordered the wake-up #2, which is an egg white, mozzarella, and spinach on a croissant, and it comes with a side of fruit, and I also got a regular coffee. The coffee was warm, not hot, and was nothing special, just watered down warm coffee, no taste or flavor, ok, not a big deal, I dealt with it. I finally got my food after about 10 min. She handed it to me in a stapled to go bag, and I went on my way. When I finally got to work and opened it, I was SHOCKED at how small this thing was!! (See picture) it was as big as my computer mouse! LoL and the fruit cup, wow, old warm fruit pieces. If you like small portions, warm coffee, and old fruit at big prices, by all means, come here, my bill was $17.36 for this!! I am really disappointed as a first-time customer. Truly let down. To anyone who reads this, keep on driving, you're better off going to Starbucks, Ms Ds donuts, or Eggsactly in adjacent city of La Verne, you'll get more bang for you buck! This cafe is awsome!!! Went to meet my bestie for breakfast. You order inside and then pick where you want outside. We both had one of their burritos, the Conductor, I believe. I had bacon and my bestie did avocado instead of meat - really really good! The green salsa is BOMB!! There are things to do for the kiddos - large connect four, books, other games, crayons. They have a band on Saturday around noon - I believe. We're going back FOR SURE. I want to try more food. read more

The best items we enjoyed were the beverages. I ordered a iced mocha latte. It was choclately and full bodied. My husband ordered the strawberry Italian soda. It was refreshing and creamy. We waited quite some time for our food to be ready. The owner was kind and offered samples of cinnamon scone. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the scone. It was drier and crumblier than a typical scone. There was also a feint taste of residual plastic about the pastry. I'm not sure if this was from plastic wrap or their storage method. I didn't finish the sample. I got the Turkey caprese sandwich. They were very generous with the portion of Turkey on their sandwich. I appreciated that I felt satisfied eating half. I saved the other half for lunch. The sandwich was decent, but it wasn't super flavorful. My husband got the wicked good railway. It's a pressed croissant with two sausage Patties smothered in country gravy. I would say that this country gravy lacks seasoning. Typically country gravy is very heavily peppered, so much so that you should see black flecks of pepper sprinkled throughout. This country gravy was mediocre. There weren't any sausage bits in it either, which typically accompany country gravy. I'm rating this establishment an overall 3/5. The service was a bit slow, and the food could've been tastier. The best purchases were the beverages. I did enjoy the overall vibe, they did have nice music playing outside. read more

I decided to try this place very expensive for the tiny burrito you see in the picture that was $18 and then she didn't charge me for the Coke. It's canned Coke mind you they get those things for a quarter. She come out and charge me for the Coke And then she's grilling me asking me if I already got the Coke from the refrigerator and I said no, so both of our meals together me and my girlfriend come out almost 50 bucks after charging you $18 for a tiny burrito. With a gorgeous outdoor seating area this was a chillaxing experience with excellent service. But let me get down to what I had on this satisfying adventure. I ordered their nitro cold brew that was on point with its pour and rich full flavor like it's supposed to be and not flat like some others out there. I also got their seasonal specialty which was the peanut butter mocha. Now this totally blew me away with its flavor and the mug it came in! Such a super cool looking drinking device and I also got a nice and tasty surprise at the end of my drink. A nice little chunk of peanut butter, Niiice! To go along with my drinks I got the highly recommended coffee cake which was simply amazing. What a way to cap off a delicious adventure. They have a full menu right when you walk in with descriptions of everything. It's a pretty upscale place and they have outdoor seating. Hot choco was good; I think they shorted me an ounce or so, due to the froth settling. The other bigger ding was that they served me fresh fruit, ex. for the strawberries. Why serve customers unripe fruit? Especially since restaurant food prices are ridiculously high, the food has to be close to perfect, IMO. If your looking for a place to relax and good breakfast or lunch, this might be your place. My review is based on todays visit. The railroad is 18°North off of Rail Side cafe, I don't know if that matters but this joint gave me and my wife an Italian feeling of the city side, maybe because of the music influence. Very nice outside dining area under huge humming pepper trees and red patio umbrellas to save us from the falling autumn leaves, birds still chirping. This brick building and red stone floor place was really meant for outdoor dinning because of its great corner area with a busy street view but camouflaged by their pleasant music. You come into this cozy area and order from the digital menu on the wall behind the counter, you can modify your order if you may, and then given a number and select your table, preferably outside. We both got their "Norway bagel" which was the bagel with salmon, cream cheese, capers and pesto sauce (tomatoes added) and coffee. The bagels hit the spot, portion was just right, I think something was missing, maybe the red onions, but that did not matter because my wife was busy admiring the place, lol! I'm pretty sure that all the rest of the menus are great. Everything is affordable. I have a strong feeling that this joint is family owned. From the second you step in to order, you can tell this place has taken the time to iron out all the details. Sausage and country gravy on a golden croissant. My wife had the wake-up #2 egg whites spinach and mozzarella. The kiddo had the kids waffle with bacon and eggs cooked to perfection. The croissants and waffles were fresh and fluffy. Between the 3 of us, we polished our plates. Freshly squeezed orange juice is stored next to the register inside of a vintage little red fridge amongst some other drinks. The Mrs loved her drink. Appropriately named "the best chai tea latte ever,"and I thoroughly enjoyed my peanut butter mocha latte on the special drinks menu that is every bit as good as it sounds. Unfortunately we don't have the option of going out for lunch at my work so this will be a place I only visit when I'm really hungry after my shift. It's a shame, because this place has great customer service and is following the state guidelines. I ordered the strawberry Italian soda and the London bagel when I visited a couple weeks ago. The soda was creamy when I didn't expect it to be, and I hope I can change that if I order another one. It wasn't terrible, just a bit sweet. The London bagel was absolutely delicious! I'd never had roast beef on a bagel before, and I was uncertain about it until I took the first bite. The everything bagel was perfectly made and toasted, and the roast beef was juicy and well-coated in pesto. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pretzels, though they were more interesting than regular pretzels (they had some sort of flavor dusting). I found out too late that you can sub other items for the pretzels, so I plan to do that next time. What a great little place! COVID restrictions have us sitting outside, the same as always, which was very pleasant on a warm Friday morning. The menu is extensive with all manner of breakfasts: wraps, waffles, bagels, egg dishes. All can be made with egg white or whole egg, just ask. Lunch sandwiches sounded excellent too.
