Ralph's is the closest market to us so of course we frequent here often. In Burbank it is referred to as the BIG RALPH'S as it has a bigger array of items. There is a big deli that makes a great sandwich. They have hot food, a large salad bar, an olive bar and sushi maker on site. Also they have a big bakery, seafood counter and large produce section with many organic options. They fry fish for free which I love. Makes for an inexpensive lunch on the go. They are very nice and will do their best to order any speciality items upon request. There is a REDBOX, florist and a US BANK on site as well for one stop shopping experience. They recently added a small bulk item section where you can buy bulk grains, seeds and granola. I love this and hope they look into expanding their bulk item selection in the future. (Which hopefully it'll bring down the prices some) But it is great when you want to bake and don't need a large quantity of nuts. Although their produce section is huge I feel their prices are way too high. But if you can stick to the sales, you will find affordable fruits and vegetables. Sadly for them I still find myself going to several stores to save. The .99 Cent only store across the street is great for staple fruits and veggies. Cuz seriously... Why spend $5 for a bag of potatoes or ice when you can get them for a buck?! But I guess some people will pay for that convenience. Not me though. 99% of the time I am greeted with friendly smiles and helpful staff. I especially love the discount section in the back of the store.. Even though some of the stuff on clearance is hardly worth the discount...sometimes there are some great deals to be had. My mother always taught me, shop the outside aisles to stay healthy and always stick to your sale ad list. Great advice I've always followed. The parking lot has ample parking. The store has enormous potential that will never be reached with current management and personnel. The fantastic amenities are all going to waste due to rude and/or apathetic employees. But my biggest complaint, and the reason I will no longer shop there, is the fact that the employees continue to allow shoppers to bring their dogs into the store and, after pointing it out to them (Miguel), do nothing about it. Section 114259.5 of the California Retail Food Code says that "live animals may not be allowed in a food facility." Maybe I'll just call the Board of Health. read more

This Ralphs is much better than a lot of other Ralphs store I have been to. There is a huge choice of fresh produce, bulk items and they even have a fresh fish and meat section where majority of the times the servers are super nice. Not to mention there is a Starbucks and a US bank inside which makes it pretty convenient - you can catch 3 birds with a stone not too - lol! read more

You know, I come here because I don't really like the Ralph's in North Hollywood. It's nicer, cleaner and until last night, a pleasant place to shop. One thing that erks me is, they close at 2:00 am but at midnight, there are MANY MANY hand carts with stuff on them to stock in front of things I need. Last night, in front of all the milk and bacon areas. Now, I am no bitty but one guy was stocking the freezer dept, the ice cream isle and he had some loud music blaring and it was playing Naughty By Nature..OPP. Uh ok, that song is soooo in appropriate to be blasting while you are open and customers are shopping. Navigating my way past boxes, hand carts and pallets is super annoying, I wonder why they feel like meed to do that when they are open for another 2 hours? read more

I went to this location at 6:30pm to purchase items from the meat department but discovered no body behind the counter and all the lights off. So I called the store from my cel phone and, after a long wait was informed the meat department staff were on a lunch break and would be back after that! If you are going shopping at this Ralphs call ahead to make sure the department you require is not closed for staff breaks. As I left Ralphs I called again to complain to a manager but the phone rang for 15 minutes without a reply. Customer service has taken a back seat to corporate greed here. I made a special trip to buy two Carvels ice cream cakes at this Ralph's location for my birthday party. It's been a hot summer in Burbank, so I made sure I went to the closest store and came right back home. I bought two of the sheet (the biggest size they offer) cakes. Paid. Drove home, put them in the freezer right away. Cake time came and I pulled both cakes out and one of them was deformed. It had completely melted and frozen back and put back in the freezer ofthe store to be resold. It was disappointing to say the least, my 50 guests got to have smaller slices and had to share the one sheet cake because the other one was to discussing and probably not safe to serve. Why do you put back a frozen ice cream cake back on the shelf once it has been taken out? Who knows how long it stayed out before you "restocked" your go backs from the front of the store. Horrible, horrible experience to go thru once you are in the thick of the party and you can't run to buy another one. I'm glad at least I bought two. At least one of them was in good order and not refrozen after being melted. Now I'm out of $37 and my guests got thin slices instead of heathy portions that I intended for them to get. Ralph's! I've never had this negative of an experience at a grocery store in my entire. The employees here are unforgivable in their hatred for their jobs and complete negatively towards the customers. It made me very, very sad do see that this is where we're going as a people. I gave a warm hello to the person at the deli counter and received no response. I ordered the things I needed. She brought them back threw them on the counter and simply walked away. Not a word. When I finally got to the checker he was on his cell phone making a personal phone call as he was ringing people up. It was absolutely astounding. My advice, never shop at this location. So I have had a few run ins with racist folk here. But today my boyfriend who experienced it while shopping. The cashier who I will not name was extremely nice to all the white ppl in front but when my bf was next she was extremely rude to him. My bf who is black is an extremely polite human being. This is a great location and what I like about this Ralphs is their cheese bar. You can come in and sample all kinds of cheese and get wine parings, which this Ralphs seems to always have plenty of. Every year I spend Thanksgiving week at the Marriott Burbank Airport hotel and this Ralphs, on the Northwest corner of Victory Blvd & Buena Vista Blvd in Burbank, becomes a daily destination for food, snacks, and adult beverages to bring back to my hotel room so I don't have to survive completely on meals eaten out. It allows me to make healthy choices in my eating habits in spite of my being uprooted and stuck in a hotel. The parking lot has ample room, so I never have to walk far to get inside. The store is clean, brightly lit, and stocked with all different types of food. I particularly like to visit the large deli/bakery section which even has a hot soup bar for those times when I want to eat something hot. I was particularly impressed with their selection of liquor. It's MUCH better than in the grocery stores back up in Bakersfield (where we don't have Ralph's, btw). Now, I'm not suggesting it rivals a BevMo! but if you can't find what you're looking for here you must be quite the liquor snob as I found it hard to believe they were missing much of anything. The selection of grocery items is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. What more could one ask for? Oh, yes, the employees are super friendly and helpful, too!! How do you rate your typical, go-to grocery store? Uhhhh it's fine, I guess? It usually has everything in stock (except bananas, they're a bit of a rare fruit here). This location is close to home and has great deals on high-quality fruit and veggies. They almost always have deals on almond milk, dairy products such as yogurt, and meats. If the lines are long, try the self check-out.The machines can be a bit fussy and sensitive, but take your time and put the item on the bagging scale right after you scan it. I have never had any particularly negative experiences here, except for having to hunt down bananas from time to time. Staff has never been rude or unhelpful, so I'm confused about some of the poor ratings regarding customer service. read more

5/25. Just had great service at the meat counter. Wish I would've got his name but the it was Monday evening and I was looking at the New York strips. He was restocking the shelves so I asked the guy if they had what I was looking for. He went into the back and sure enough found what I was looking for. He made me the 4 pack of New Yorks and I was on my way. He easily could have said no and continued restocking the shelves but he didn't. Great customer service goes a long way in my book. First off, if the internet says the store is open until 1, it is open until 1. (Yes, I know Yelp still lists it as 2...) Don't do the whole "locking the door at 12:45" thing. The Allied Security person cursed at me. He may not be an employee of your store, but he does represent it as the first face I see when I come in. As it stood, I was allowed in to buy something really quickly but given "only three minutes" - even though 1am was still ten minutes away - and then Mr. McSecurity took his slow time to allow us out, as myself and two or three other customers were locked in. And when he came back, he was disrespectful to me yet again. I do like this Ralphs for two things in the daytime, though - the sushi (though prices have gone up too high) and the chicken tenders (though the deli is so slow, even though everyone working the deli is kind and great). Do know that if they dont carry such an item you want (for regulars) do place an order... might take a while to get it, but they will get it and notify you that they have received it. Absolutely the worst store due to under supported employees. I can not be upset with the employees when they clearly are unaware of protocol and how to deal with situations. I feel bad for the people who work here since they are not given the tools to be stand out employees. It is a shame that such a large corporation clearly refuses to train staff in customer service, and general daily business. I have been waiting to be reimbursed for a wrongful transaction for over a month. Every time I visit the store I am told to return at a later date because they do not know how to deal with the situation. It is frustrating and embarrassing when I ask to see a manager and then have to scream my business and subsequent failure to be respected across 3 check out lines. I do not appreciated being embarrassed or rudely spoken to in front other customers when I am just trying to get the money that Ralph's has stolen from me. read more

Ordered paper online. 2 packs of Soft and strong, the one with a yellow duck, Kroger brand. 48 count mega roll. Scheduled to pick Friday 12, between 1:00-2:00 PM. Arrived @1:30, called, waited less than 20. Employee was professional and courteous. No issues as far as that goes. Problem is, he hands me 2 12 roll pack of the cheapest Kroger brand. Which is comparable (to me) to the toilet paper you get from the 99. He proceeds to inform me, that they had to substitute my order because they were out of Soft and Strong 48 count. I was disappointed and I even asked him, " you guys are out of the one with the duck? That's the one I like" he replied with an " I'm sorry, yes, we're out of stock. I was bummed out, but I am aware it does say they will substitute IF product is not available. I was about to drive off, when I remembered I needed something from the store. Got my items and just out of curiosity, I decided to go by the toilet paper isle ... I guess between the time it took me to park and walk inside, they got a delivery and were able to stock the shelves with Soft and Strong. The one with a duck image. In case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic. This person (employee) lied straight to my face, not 1 time. But 2 times. WTF!!?? Who does that? I asked the cashier why someone would that, I guess HE was fresh out of "DUCKS" with a capital F, to give that day, because he seemed to believe it was a "computer error" umm. No. The "computer" did not go to the toilet paper isle, looked at my order, looked at the shelves FULLY STOCKED with said item and decided, "NOPE, I will substitute the order with this sandpaper instead" and then I will Lie about it. No. I it was not a computer error. Cashier did not even suggest I speak with a manager. The only reason I didn't ask to speak with the manager? I had just got off work, was starving. I just wanted to get home. So I get in my car, decided to check my receipt and noticed the guy at the deli messed up on the label for the potato wedges. He printed out a label for hand breaded chicken nuggets at $5.99 lb instead of $3.99 a lb potato wedges. SERIOUSLY???!!! WTF?! read more

Very disappointed in this Ralph's. This is the third time I have bought something expired without realizing it. I thought I had looked closely at the dates this time as the organic cottage cheese, yogurt, and milk typically expire within a couple days of shopping, however, 24 days expired and still on the shelf is unacceptable. Managers, isn't there someone who is responsible for checking this? Someone can seriously get sick. I actually thought this read 3/5/17 as almost one month expired is crazy, however, as I went to eat this, I was shocked at the date of "use by 2/5/17" (shopped on 2/26/17.) I've been very pleased with the new organic line and the customer service is always great as this is my "go to" store. This is a great place to shop. Customer service is Great what ever you need you can always ask. There is a variety of selections of drinks, food, fruits and Vegetables etc. I need to get some roses for my daughter's graduation and the florist was very helpful and helped me pick the right selection. I was happy and was hassle free. When ever you have the chance there is the 50 percent off and you get a lot from breads or pasties and lunch meats. I always do that whenever I stop by to go to the US bank. Always try to take time because a lot of bargains can slip through your hand. Ralphs had a "Holiday Spending Bonus" that ending on 12/15/19, this was based on how much you spent during a certain period of time. 30% off if you spent up to $400 and 50% off if you spent over $400. The employees and managers said they did not know what it was for and had acted like it was made up. It was on every receipt that came out of Ralphs for a month or more. Come to find out that they were supposed to give a discount on all general merchandise items that you purchased in one transaction. I am sure that most of the people did not get this deal since Ralphs acted like they did not know what it was for. It was their promotion. If they did not know what it was for, how was anyone else supposed to know. This is false advertising at its finest. I know what Ralphs was fined for false advertising a couple years ago. The sushi here is pretty good. If the guy is there, he'll make you a combo if you ask for 1 dollar more. The fish isn't always the mouth watering yellow tail melting gold like at a nice restaurant but it certainly better than California Roll and way cheaper. I've noticed they have a lot of solicitors always at one side of the entrance. So either pick the far side entrance or do the Larry David-esque pretend you're on a cell phone call so they don't bother you. read more

This grocery is actually pretty decent. The customer service is usually pretty good and they carry quite a few things my family likes that other grocery stores do not. The bagging however is terrible. I honestly do not think that employees are trained in the proper way to bag any more. Today I brought two bags.....in one bag the cashier / bagger duo place a loaf of bread, Oreo cookies and a bag of chips. The 2nd bag contained everything else.....haphazardly thrown in with zero regard for things being crushed. See attached photos... Come on!!!! Moved to this area around 2 years ago. This is walking distance from my place. Used to live near the Ralphs (was Hughes) on San Fernando near Burbank High School. I used to not like this Ralphs and while there are still a few issues, many have been resolved simply due to the very helpful service of the front-line supervisors, cashiers and baggers. The issues many here talk about are complaints that can be lodged against most Ralphs stores. They all have a priority to open registers if there are XX people in line, however as it gets later - this gets cut to only 1. The Deli section is not organized correctly, but to blame the employees there is wrong. If they had a dedicated hot foods / sandwich person this would make things sooo much better. Other than that they try their best. That was the bad, now the good. The cashiers that have turned my opinion from bad to good: Shirley, Ryan - front-line manager Raul Aranda. Very great service. Deli folks: Daniel and Luis. 1. To just complain endlessly doesn't do anyone any favors. Use their feedback option on your receipt to shout out who gives you great service. It helps them immensely. 2. Use the same feedback form to report issues and process problems - like with the Deli, etc etc. 3. If you go to Self-Service - but don't like it, ask them to do it for you. They don't mind and if you only have a couple of items it's quick, easy and fast. read more

I did the order online and pick-up option today. Waited for the order to be officially ready on the app, then texted my parking spot number, and then waited in the parking lot for over half an hour. Half the items were in their own plastic bag, they used 3x as many plastic bags as necessary, and some items were not in a bag at all and the food boxes were open?! just....weird and not acceptable all around. The in store shopping experience is fine, but pick-up is not anything like it should be at this location. I do not recommend it. read more
