I was craving hot ramen during a cold, rainy day and stumbled upon this place. First of all, this place is one of the only ramen places in the Concord/Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek area to serve vegetarian/vegan options. It is located near downtown Concord with a parking garage nearby that is free to park in if you don't want to park on the street. Adequate amount of seating indoors as well if you'd like to dine in. As for the ramen, I felt pretty satisfied with the size of my bowl. For around $16, the veggie ramen comes with a generous amount of noodles, tofu slices, kikurage mushroom, corn, bamboo shoots. The spice level of the broth can also be adjusted. I got the mild, but honestly probably could have gotten the medium since I could barely taste the spice. My order also came out pretty quickly too, didn't have to wait more than 10-15 min but I also had an early-ish lunch. Overall, solid spot to get some ramen in the area, especially if you are vegetarian/vegan!

On a cold December night, when neither of us felt like cooking, we decided to give this place a try & order some food. As soon as we saw they had vegetable ramen, we knew we were hooked. The ramen arrived still hot & on time, which was awesome. We also ordered some of the vegetable tempura, which had a nice assortment of veggies. They give you a huge portion of food, which easily leaves me with leftovers for the next day. I highly recommend this place & can't wait to check out the actual restaurant next time! Vegetable ramen: vegetable broth, tofu, bean sprouts, green onions, kikurage mushrooms, corn, & bamboo shoots. Extra $1 for a boiled egg!

My partner and I wanted something warm to eat on this cold night, so I suggested we go to this place since it was nearby. Parking is ample due to the nearby structure, and it was a quick 1 min walk here. Ordering is placed at the counter and you get a waiting number to place at your table. It was not too crowded when we went, so we got our food right away. Black Garlic Ramen: This was a rather delicious bowl of ramen. I didn't really taste any of the black garlic, but the noodles were cooked well and the pork chashu was nicely done. Three pieces were plentiful for my bowl. There was a fair amount of bamboo shoots and corn as well. The broth was at medium spicy. Overall, I enjoyed the bowl for the price. I felt full, though I did have some brother leftover at the end. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and recommend others to give this a try as well

We really like Ramen 101 here. We discovered this place through delivery but have visited the ramen shop twice so far. Their ramen is rich with generous toppings. The portion is great too. If you order their Hawaiian bbq entree, you will most likely have leftover. We will return for more ramen for sure!

It's interesting that a counter-service soup stop replaced a full-service restaurant, but it's likely a trend inspired by Concord's more casual dining culture. We stopped in for the first time this weekend after spending literally weeks (!) looking for a new ramen shop. I ordered the Seafood Ramen, he ordered the Tontaksu Ramen. Both of us ordered Medium spicy, which ran a little mild but was still very good. I loved my Seafood Ramen: The Shrimp were perfect, scallops weren't rubbery, really liked the sweet corn. I've never had scallops in ramen before but really liked it! The broth wasn't too rich, and the noodles weren't soggy - I don't know how chewy they're supposed to be but mine were much better than anything I'd make at home. The service was extremely fast, which is great if you're running late to a movie or just don't like sitting around. Free chilled water was also nice, though they do offer a cooler full of other beverages/sodas. It's kind of a catch-all place (kid-friendly), so don't expect a quiet date night here. Solid ramen for Concord, I'm sure we'll be back!

Quick and easy ramen spot with your classics available and some Hawaiian bbq as well. Parking is hit or miss here. They've got a couple parking lots near by, but they can be busy. So be prepared to take a little walk. The staff was nice and helped us promptly as we walked in. The atmosphere is kind of bland, only 10 tables or so inside, 4 of which are along side a bench against the wall. The location is a little small for how much business I believe they do. The food was good, not the best ramen, but certainly not bad at all. I'd have the tonkatsu ramen again, but I would probably try something else to explore the menu. The drink fountain was broken, but they did have drinks in a cooler.

The ramen noodles and chicken karaoke were pretty good. A little skimpy on the noodles though. Ambiance is a bit sparse but functional. Service was prompt and friendly, but could have been more attentive and helpful. Prices were a little high for ramen, although all restaurant food seems a bit high to me. I wavered between a 3 and 4 star review but in the end gave it the benefit of the doubt. Overall good but nothing spectacular.

Was craving ramen so I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and we also had the chicken bowl, which is pretty inexpensive and just the right size for a light meal. This place gets lots of orders to go, but there are plenty of seats to eat in. The ramen here is solid, but I probably would not wait in a line for this place. I ordered my ramen mild, but the spicy oil sits on top of the soup so any scoop or bit of noodles sort of hits you with heat no matter what. Not super spicy, but be warned.

This new place emits yummy aromas of noodles and broth and high energy from very attentive wait staff. Our orders were completed in minutes and we (6 of us) enjoyed our dishes. Well, almost. One of our group got a very spicy noodle bowl that she didn't order. The staff replaced it with one with no hot at all. Other than that misstep, we all liked the place. Will go back. read more

Spicy level three vegetable ramen was not hot. I added two table spoons of the red chilli sauce to get it to a decent spicy level. The egg was more on the cooked side. I'd order fried garlic versus getting the the black garlic ramen... The black garlic ramen had to much of burnt taste for me. This place is okay with fast service and friendly staff. read more

This place is FIRE! One of our favorite places to eat. The staff are incredibly friendly and prompt and food comes out incredibly fast. The Ramen is hands down the best I have ever had. I usually get either the tonkotsu or the chicken ramen and I have never been disappointed. Everything tastes amazing! My girlfriend and I constantly come here to the point where they know what we're going to order before we say it. 5/5 stars. read more

really really good ramen! I got the chicken ramen with extra noodles. However they don't do any veggie substitutions which sucks because I don't eat bean sprouts and I am allergic to mushrooms so I had to omit those and if I wanted anything else it'd be really pricey! Other than that really good though read more

Great tasting ramen, and a wide variety of Appetizers. We ordered the Miso and black garlic ramen. Geso and potstickers. All were great. Also a family friendly place. Only downside was they don't serve alcohol. Would've been nice to enjoy the dishes with a nice cold Asahi or Sake. read more

I usually don't do any review on Yelp but this time I have to do it, came here probably my 4 time with my family for dinner, love the food and the environment there but the front cashier girl have a real bad attitude and poor customers services. Usually I don't see places with grilled whole squid and this was the hook. Greeted by smiling face of the cashier. You order and pay first then sit down while you wait for your food. I ordered the seafood Ramen and tongkatsu ramen. Ramen came out first but no biggy. Squid was amazing due to the size. They drizzle sweet and sour sauce on it and it was great. There was cabage under and it was like Asian coleslaw! Employees asked us how we're doing and about the food twice which was very good of them. They truly care! Would come here again! read more

Order and pay before you sit. No problem with that. Ordered the black garlic ramen, the broth was delicious, noodles cooked perfect. And the food came out literally minutes within paying. Must try the tako yaki! That ish was the bomb. My friend ordered the tonkotsu, he said it was very good. Chicken karage is crunchy and a little to dry for me. Overall a nice, quick meal. Reasonable prices. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed! read more

I ordered the shoyu ramen and tako yaki. The broth for the ramen tasted nothing like a shoyu soup base - It was gray and tasted like boiled mushrooms. The rest of the ramen just tasted like raw bean sprouts. The pork was dry, tough, and flavorless. Worst ramen I've ever had. I only ate 1 of the tako yaki - they were deflated looking and had poor consistency. Overall , very disappointing. I'll get my ramen fix elsewhere. read more

I went there this evening again. Tonight, I saw a dog inside the dining area which is against California law, and unsanitary, to say the least. No, it was not a service dog, for sure. I told the young woman with a pony tail, she made a face (a face), shrugged her shoulder, left. Turned around, gave me a dirty look, and left. Health inspection needs to show up here. Today is a national holiday so I'll call tomorrow. read more

If you're looking for authentic Ramen, this is it! Broth is wonderfully flavorful. You can make it spicy and they add something to it that doesn't burn your insides but still make you appreciate the warmth and full taste of the broth. Egg noodles were fine but I wish we can choose different noodle types too. We tried Black Garlic, Shoyu, Seafood and Pork Ribs ramen and they were delicious!!! Serving size is just right. For me, left over would be for a good 2nd helping for breakfast Place is clean and inviting. read more

So happy to finally have a good ramen joint in Concord. I save my 1 cheat meal a week for a bowl of spicy garlic ramen with extra roast pork and a karage side. This place is very good. I first went to the one that they have in Emeryville by target and loved their food. Very nice staff and they make the food tasteful and delicious. Young workers so the place has a very nice and inviting atmosphere. Now that there is one closer to home, I don't have to go all the way back to Emeryville. Check them out! You won't be disappointed. read more

I ordered a vegetable ramen through door dash. There was no option to select black garlic add on so I selected fried garlic and a paid extra dollar for that. I called up and requested for the black garlic and apparently it was ONE dollar extra and they couldn't give it and I couldn't pay through door dash .Never expected they would be so stingy. read more

This time we tried the Mizuna mustard greens salad and it would've been good but they accidentally overdressed it by a lot. So super sour and tart. But I could tell the mustard greens were super fresh. Perhaps ask for the dressing on the side if you decide to order.

This created a whole scene that other customers eating there got involved making it look like I was the bad person. He ended up just telling me that it was on them. Which all could've been avoided IF he had listened to my solution. I don't care about the 'free' meal at this point. It was so embarrassing! Word of advice, if you're ringing up a check, make sure you ring up the correct bill! Other than that, the food was good. One of the best Hawaiian food in the area. I do recommend the Aloha plate. It's just very unfortunate that one mistake caused me to never want to come back.

Somehow they reminded me of a perfect mix between McDonald's fries and Wingstop fries. Crispy, flavorful, addictive, and impossible to stop eating. What made the experience even more memorable was the atmosphere. While I was enjoying my meal, there was a gentleman in the back playing bongos/music, and it created such a relaxing and unique vibe. The pork sausage in it was tasty. There is a menu on the wall at the counter. There's also printed menus stacked at the counter. I think the printed one has other items. Ordering is done at the counter and you are given a number to place at your table. Your food is brought to you. There's about 15 tables. Some for two and most are for four. Larger groups can be easily accommodated by combining tables. If you go, check out the beautiful mural.

We: miso soup, and the salad for starters. Service was good, as we were greeted upon our arrival, seated immediately and Jessie checked on us just enough. Those spicy garlic edamame are definitely for those who like spice, and that steak teriyaki was tender it almost melted in my mouth. The miso soup and salad were just the perfect serving size that I wasn't stuffed before my meal came. Ambience was chill because it wasn't 5 o'clock yet, so I'm almost positive we made it there before the dinner rush. Giving this place a four yumms up and a definite I'll be back !!

We estimated the wait for our food was about 45 minutes after our order. If you are waiting for a considerable time, the food better be exceptional. I enjoyed the Kurobuta pork burger. Having the bacon with the Kurobuta added more pork flavor. The blueberry ketchup provided a sweetness to balance the richness of the Kurobuta pork and bacon. I didn't like the house fries that came were the pork burger as they were soggy. I have two pet peeves when it comes to fried items: 1) overcooked chicken wings 2) soggy fries. The rest of my family had issues with their dishes. My mom stated there were not enough sirloin on her steak bowl she ordered. My dad said there were not enough grilled chicken from the fettucine alfredo. As mentioned before when your food arrives longer than you anticipate the attention will be if the item you order is great. What saved this rating from a 2-star experience was the Kurobuta pork burger.

I think since they, much to his dismay, the SF location closed down but they established this new location, much to my delight, in Concord. The first time I came here was for my friend Maria's birthday. She treated the table of 9 for her birthday. We ordered three Kalbijjims with torched cheese and extra egg with varying levels of spice. Additionally we ordered a dolsot bibimbap with fried tofu for my vegetarian bestie, japchae, and countless bottles of flavored and unflavored soju for the table. It was a feast and a magnificent and delicious one at that. Since that dinner, I had been meaning to come back. Within the year, I ended up coming here a total of four times, each time ordering their signature Daeho Kalbijjim. It had continued to hit the spot each time, and the service has been great. This Concord location also does a good job at keeping everything clean and immaculate. Huge kudos.

I wouldn't refuse going back if someone suggested it, but certainly FB is not first on my list when I think of restaurants I'm dying to go to.

First, I've been charged for spicy mayo, which was previously complimentary. Additionally, I'm often questioned about why I need so much spicy mayo, and I receive less than what I request. This inconsistency is frustrating and disappointing, especially since I never had these issues before. I had an amazing experience at this Japanese ramen restaurant! The noodles were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of chewiness, and the broth was rich and flavorful.
