3/26/2019 Had seen on Facebook that they were opening soon in Concord. Noticed the open sign today and turned around and went in. Best decision. The ramen is EXCELLENT as well as the Gyoza. Big big pots of different broths cooking. No can stuff all from scratch. The owner is absolutely nice and very appreciative of us telling him how much we liked the food. I ordered 5 different starters. This included the chicken Kara-age, gyoza, kaki fry, geso fry and the crab rangoons. and It was $32 for the order. The food quality was 2 stars at best. The crab rangoons didn't have any hint of crab in them. The geso fry wasn't crispy at all. Everything else tasted like something from KFC. The only thing that made the meal enjoyable was the sauce, which was delicious. But I didn't pay $32 for sauce. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I got to be honest about this one. My first time coming in on a Monday afternoon with my 3 daughters and we were told we can't order until there were seats available. Fine. We weren't upset about that. However, other people came in with smaller parties and they were able to order and be seated at a 4 seated table before us. WTH?! Annoyance kicked in. It was raining outside and we still couldn't order and more and more people started coming in. Only place to stand now was outside because the waiting area is so small and practically non-existent. After 30 mins of watching others order & be seated we finally get a table. Not impressed. I don't like spicy, but I don't like bland either. I ordered the seafood combo and the soup tasted like water with a touch of salt & pepper. Perhaps spicy is their specialty, but the broth was tasteless. No thanks! I'll go to Silverlake and spend a little extra for flavor. read more

I went to Marufuku last week and no place will ever taste as good as marufuku in my opinion the broth at marufuku was perfect creamy and not salty the meat was so tender it melts in your mouth. I had hope, but lost it :( I'd say the ramen here is slightly below average. I was hoping to find a local go to ramen spot because the reviews were good, but I wasn't impressed. The first sip of the broth was okay, but you slowly start to get tired of the taste of it and the noodles are eh. Average, and will look elsewhere for a ramen fix. The broth was nothing special, lacked a bit in flavor, but the noodles were well cooked. The gyoza was very overcooked and hard. I have never been a fan of ramen, maybe because I have never tried good ramen. I personally did not enjoy the other ramen spots here in the surrounding areas until I tried this place. I thought the ramen here was very flavorful and tasty. I crave it all the time now and I am probably going to be coming here at least once every week. The customer service here is also very excellent. You are always greeted when you walk in and they are very nice. I definitely appreciate the service especially since there are not many places that give you a welcoming vibe or any respect when you walk in. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Came in on a Thursday about 3:30 pm. Ordered meals for 4 people, paid and waited for our food. While waiting we noticed we were charged full price for the ramen bowls we ordered when it was supposed to be 20% off because of happy hour. We let the "manager" know and she was acting as if we were inconveniencing her by bringing this to her attention. Her name was Tiana I believe. Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience. She rolled her eyes at us multiple times. She tried giving a $5 off if you spend $25 voucher for a next visit at the Dublin location.. I brought to her attention the voucher said it was only for the Dublin location, I let her know I don't go to Dublin. She said it doesn't matter you can use it here, while continuing to give attitude. I told her I prefer the 20% off like you guys advertise. She made a big issue about it and never even tried to just rerun the transaction so we can pay the price we originally were supposed to be charged. Bottom line is she was beyond rude and rolled her eyes so much I'm surprised her eyes didn't get stuck in the back of her head. It was their error, so why she was giving us so much attitude I don't know. Super unprofessional and will not return to this place because of the service! read more

I've been going here with my bf since they opened and I must say the customer service has gotten a little worst. It's not too bad, but the employees are definitely not as upbeat and personable as the other employees who were there in the beginning. The ramen (mild tongkatsu) is really flavorful and had just the right amount of spice. I enjoyed how the egg was perfectly cooked (not too under or overcooked) and I liked the other toppings as well like the bamboo and mushroom BUT I came back to eat here about a week ago and was so upset that they CHANGED THE RAMEN. The ramen in the new soup honestly looked and tasted like spaghetti noodles. Me & my bf couldn't even finish our soup because it just didn't feel right eating a bowl of soupy spaghetti even though the broth tasted exactly the same. We had the chicken karage on the side which was pretty good, but how could you be a restaurant called "Ramen 101" when the actual ramen noodles themselves were not good at all. They didn't hold on to the flavor of the broth so it tasted like you were eating plain spaghetti noodles. That's why I gave this place 3 stars. Not only are their food and service excellent but also the staff and crew are honest and courteous. Last Sunday evening we dined here in Concord, CA (my 3rd time). My wife, accidentally/unconsciously dropped her fitbit and tracking back she knew that that's the only place she could have lost her useful fitbit. A week later, Sunday noon, I dropped by this same place and ordered at the counter. I asked if by any chance they found a fitbit lost a week ago. The crew went to their store manager. When I was waiting for the ramen that I ordered, the store manager approached me and asked what was it that I was looking for. Showed him my fitbit which resembles my wife's missing one. A couple of minutes later, the store manager returned and handed me a fitbit. He said one of their staff found it where I told them where we sat last week. I was so glad because I thought it's already a lost cause (recovery). I gratefully thanked the staff and the store manager who introduced himself as Lee. I ordered the chicken karage, chicken ramen, and seafood ramen. I ordered online and the wait said to be 30-40 minutes. When I came in to get the order right on time according to what it said online, everyone working there just stared at me. I finally said hi I'm here to pick up and they pointed at a table and I got my order and left. They were nice but it would be nice to be greeted and not just be stared at. Everything was on the cold side which means that the estimated time online was way off. The chicken karage with the sauce was really good. The ramens however, were extremely bland and Unflavorful. We got mild spice and it had no hint of spice what so ever. The seafood ramen had barely any seafood in it. I saw 3 shrimp, and half a scallop. Maybe everything else was underneath but its a bad sign if I need to dig through my ramen to see if there is seafood. That being said, we let our ramen sit for a while and took it home. The next day it tasted a bit more flavorful and I added some soy sauce and Sriracha to it. I still ate it and it wasn't that bad in the end but if I need to let my ramen sit for a night and add stuff to it, then I might as well just find a different place. read more
