We met up for lunch recently and had a great experience. Nate and I first went into the wrong restaurant - they also have a more casual noodle spot next door, so be sure you know where you're meeting/going! We hadn't figured out if we wanted to do Korean BBQ or not when we first arrived, but we ended up choosing from the lunch specials/combos menu which was a great value. Plus I can never decide what I want, so it was great to be able to get a combo with two different options. I went with the bulgogi/nengmyun combo and we also got an order of mandoo to share. Our server was super patient and helpful with navigating the menu. The food came out quickly and everything was pretty tasty - I loved the mandoo (dumplings) - they were big and filled nicely. The nengmyun was good, not the best version of this dish that I've had, but it's hard to find in my city so I was happy to have theirs. I loved the spicy pork bulgogi; super flavorful and not too spicy. Nate got the sundubu stew which was delicious and quite spicy! The portions were large, especially for the price. I always forget how great it is eating in college towns - things can be way cheaper! Parking here is a bit tricky as it is anywhere downtown, but we lucked out with a street meter nearby. I will definitely be back to Tomukun in the future.

The service was amazing and the people were really nice. The one thing to note is that if you get the chicken it does take a lot longer to cook than the beef. Overall, I would definitely come again!

Their online menu does not have the pictures that the in store one has and woowee it is a lot of choices of noodles! Amongst the 4 of us, we ordered the pork tip noodle, the Peking pork (zhajiangmian), hot oil wide noodle, beef tendon knife noodle. YUM! The noodles are handmade, handpulled and you can customize the shape and thickness you want! The portions as you can see are massive and the prices are very reasonable! $14/$15 a bowl! My pork rib tips were too tough but still seasoned. I would say their Peking style zhajiangmian is pleasantly less authentic and I liked this version better than the original! It included a braised full egg, and not too much of the cloyingly sweet and intense sauce. We ordered and within 2 minutes we were served fresh bowls of piping hot noods. Our server was efficient, warm, knowledgeable and bilingual. She said I looked like a popular Hong Kong singer, like OMG what a cute compliment! There was convenient parking and it was really close to my friend's house. Highly recommend!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, pleasant, and relaxing--perfect for enjoying both great food and great company. We never felt rushed, which made for such an enjoyable dining experience. The service was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and accommodating, even with our group of seven. We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one was a hit! The ramen was flavorful, the pan-fried mandu was crispy and delicious, and the corn cheese was a fun and tasty surprise. The Korean rice balls, Korean chicken stud, and pork tender plate were all perfectly prepared, but the standout for me was the veggie dumplings--they were absolutely delicious! Whether you're coming with friends, family, or would even be fun for a casual date night, HanJan is a must-visit spot. We can't wait to return and try even more of their amazing menu!

The mandu was tasty and had a lot of flavor. Crispy outside and soft tasty filling inside. The Ramyeon with tofu was just right amount of spicy and flavorful. The tofu was perfectly toasted. The veggies were cooked to the best texture they still had a bite to them. I just wished there was more broth that was so good. I would like to come back and try their traditional pocha.

We came here on a search from a horrible asian restaurant, PF Changs. We sat at the table without being acknowledged by anyone, no water, no "I'll be right with you," nothing for over 15 minutes. I used the dead time and searched out other asian restaurants and came across this one and we decided to give it a shot, we are so glad we did. We were greeted and shown to a table immediately, received water and menus within a minute, then they even brought out extra menus with photos; you always wonder if the ordered food looks like the photos, it was better! My wife ordered the chicken lo mein and it was incredible; she was thankful that she is a light eater, but even so, she got four meals out of it. I ordered the chicken pho and it was enormous, so much so, that they serve it with a ladle and offer smaller bowls to serve it into. The pho was full of flavor, had plenty of chicken and the incredible noodles along with all the additives you can put in if you choose. We are minimum of once a month in Ann Arbor, and this is now our go to spot. We simply can not recommend it enough!

IMHO, this is pretty good Asian cuisine but not nearly the best in Ann Arbor. My Bulgogi Beef was very satisfying, the girls both got ramen bowls that they enjoyed. The service was less than impressive. One check on us, not even topping off the water visits and not really speaking to us at all. Disappointing. I think that's a fluke and want to return and add stars. It's fine if you're looking for an informal sit-down at an inexpensive price. I wouldn't bring someone here that you want to impress. 08/25
