The space is great and I like that it's connected to a little market. Service was fine and folks were friendly overall. The food was not hot when served, it was lukewarm, the flavor was basically just salty, not many other flavors I could distinguish. I had a chicken tamale, pork taco(prob best thing I had), rice and beans, I also tried the Chile relleno and mulitas and neither were memorable. Overall quick and would work for a Mexican food fix if need be I suppose. read more

My brother and I were looking for something to eat before spending a couple nights in Quinalt. I saw that this place made their own tortillas and I had to give it a shot. I did not think I would find an authentic Mexican place in a beach town in WA but this is real Mexican taco! A meat of your choice with 2 corn tortillas some chopped white onion, lime, and cilantro. They even served radishes, the only thing they were missing was pico de gallo and pickled cactus. The mexican coke and shelf of pan dulces topped it off. I would have like to give this place 5 starts, because I really felt like I was back in Mexico for 30 minutes, but I cant. No Pico de Gallo and the salsa verde was just not spicy at all. :/ read more

I really like this place. The food is always fresh.. we love the soft tortillas they use for the street tacos.. and they give you a good helping of meat in the tacos.. There is a California Tacos across the street which is always busy and in my opinion isn't as good. RAMIREZ is a little more expensive but worth the extra cost. We usually buy the guacamole and pico salsa with our orders. Both of them are always fresh and delicious. I would love to give them 5 stars but I find the meat is a little too salty. And I would prefer marinated carrots over radishes as the garnish! Either way the food is VERY good! read more

Must comment about reviewers complaining about price of anything with avocado in a dish. I grew up with avocado groves, so know this fruit well. There is an currently an extreme shortage of avocados in the United States. Maybe blame it on the current fade for avocado toast. Avocados in super markets are running up to $4-5 each for large ones, $2+for small ones, and the quality is not great. California avocados are not the best quality. Imports from Chile and Mexico are superior. So don't blame restaurants for having to raise prices. read more

I went here on yelpers advise. At happy hour I ordered the chicken nachos a 2 chicken tacos. I wish I had ordered 4 tacos. Just was not impressed with the nachos. I will say that the chips used were flour, not corn. I love deep fried flour chips but for the nachos it just didn't seem right. There was way plenty beans and cheese. Not so much chicken. The tomatillo salsa was excellent. I hadn't had a beer in awhile so I ordered a Negra Modelo. It was excellent. I will return next time in town and try a regular entrée. read more

What an extreme disappointment!! I've been here several times in the past and things have been ok. I haven't been in a while and my Great Niece wanted her favorite Mexican food. I suggested to her Mom we go here since it was close to where we were rather than drive to our favorite regular place. Boy what a mistake! We sat in the new side, by the door. Our male server brought chips and said sauce was coming then left. He then brought out salsa and left again. Then he came back to finally ask what we would like to drink. Three seperate trips for what should have been one single trip. Very weird. As we ordered we specifically asked if the sauce would be spicy on the cheese enchiladas my little great niece wanted. He said no it's very mild. Our order came out in 3 separate trips. First the 2 side enchiladas, a few minutes later my niece got her 3 single tacos, about 5 minutes later my nachos were plopped down on the table and he left without saying a word. Not a large difficult order in the least. I didn't have the chance to talk to him about my great nieces horrible enchiladas since he vanished so quickly. We waited and waited for him to check on us. I kept turning around looking for him or ANY employee by that time. Nobody....not one single person checked on us nor offered refills on water. Next thing I know I'm being bonked in the back of the head by a small basketball. I turned to see some sort if hoop set up/display thing and a child standing there literally next to my seat. No parent around. I picked up the ball and set it on the seat beside me. I then found out from my niece who could see that the child went back behind the counter into an office area where they came from.....so apparently an employee's child? Why though? Watch your kid so they don't throw a ball and hit a customer. We got up to leave with 90% of our food untouched. At the counter to pay I started explaining to the lady everything that was wrong. She seemed very unimpressed and literally like she could care less. She took the enchiladas off the bill for me....ummm ok great but really the entire meal was garbage. I didn't feel the least bit of guilt not leaving a penny for a tip. I also won't step foot back in that place and will make sure everybody I know hears about this experience. Was not expecting the quality of the food to be so good!! Tastes amazing ! My boyfriend and I are visiting from San Francisco and assumed we wouldn't be able to find good Mexican food. We stopped here and at first it seemed low budget but when the food came we were very impressed! The beans were just like I would make, I joked that someones grandma is cooking back in the kitchen. We ordered a grilled half breast as the meat in one of our orders and it was undercooked in one area but they quickly corrected the bill to no charge for the chicken and we were very satisfied. Never heard of a restaurant changing their menu prices based on market price without stating so on the menu. also the food I got was cold. Food trucks are so much better for price and quality. I talked with the owner about advertising one price and charging another. Her response is that the cost of good change prices. lol really, so way put prices on your menu? If my son dropped out of High school and became a harmonic player in downtown olympia living on the streets I would still feel less disappointment than the food i received tonight. I am no expert on mexican cuisine but neither is this store. I order a simple Nacho .. with extra tomatoes ... while we can ignore the fact they there were no tomatoes to be found. And despite there being no salsa on this nachos or even jalapenos which one might assume be a mexican staple ... no. This was a triple order of beans 1/2 orders of boiled bland meat. and 1/4 amount of chips. Maybe my spanish is rusty but i did expect chips underneath the meat and cheese? I know the world is going through tough times right now and so are small businesses ... but if this business fails it will not be because of COVID .. it will be because of the terrible food they prepare for you. If you would have asked me a few months ago about this place, I would have given it 4 stars. This past weekend though was a complete disaster! I decided to take my daughter there because I have had decent experiences there in the past and we both love cheese enchiladas! Bad idea. Within minutes I could tell that things were off. After taking awhile to even be acknowledged at our table, I noticed that every other table only had chips and salsa. No one had food. Most of the tables were full. (We sat on the older side, not the new lounge and dining area) Usually one sees at least some tables with food. People were definitely looking flustered eyeing about to suggest "where in the world is my food?" One table complained about something and the "manager" ? -not presenting or talking as a professional at all was snappy back at them and the next thing you know he was yelling at the staff. my daughter and I joked that it felt like we were on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares! Gordon Ramsey would have lost it in this place. Then it was like dominos falling, another table complained. Then I complained. First I asked the waitress, I ordered guacamole 10 minutes ago, it's still not here. She looked at me like I was an idiot and said "we put the orders in and get them as the kitchen puts them out." Uh ok. Hmmm. You scoop the guacamole and put it in a damn bowl, takes 1 min. And you walk it to the table. 25 minutes later I stop the manager? And ask him why it's taking 25 mins to get some guacamole. He starts going off on me and telling me their system is down and they are having to hand write all the orders. Hmmm not sure why this results in such an extreme downgrade in service. Another table while seeing all this nonsense is still waiting to get menus and be acknowledged. I'm surprised they didn't walk out! And now comes the food. Lol. Omg. I have had the cheese enchiladas here before and in my opinion, pretty decent. When these bad boys came out, my jaw dropped. Something was weird about the sauce it was thick and pasty. The best way I can describe the sauce was like someone poured a huge can of thick tomato paste all over our enchiladas. No cheese on top. Just a poor display. The taste was off and not what I experienced in the past. The best highlight of the evening folks... my bottled Mexican Coke. And enjoying this coke and time with my daughter only cost me a mere 46$!!!! What a deal. I suspect this downfall might be related to their recent expansion. They need some serious help. Maybe a call to Gordon Ramsey wouldn't be such a bad idea! read more

My wife and I discovered this place almost on accident, and wish we had found it much sooner! The food is to die for - their wet burrito is a plate full of yummy! Their salsa is excellent, and other menu items are delicious! The grocery store stocks an incredible variety of great food as well - try the spicy carrots! I would give this place five stars, but I do have a gripe. The service can be a little slow. I know it's great food and it's well worth the wait, but the waits are a little long. My Dad says this place should get three stars, I say five, so I'll average it to five. I can kind of see where he's coming from - if you enter at off hours it can be a bit hard to know, like, where the restaurant is, and the green salsa is a bit soupy. Dad's steak fajitas were also a bit fatty, so let's ding them for that too. BUT the service was friendly and fast, the place was clean, and the food was great! My carnitas platter was generously-sized and delicious, the tortilla chips were tasty and fresh, and even my Dad's fatty fajitas were spiced to perfection. The soupy green salsa may be imperfect, but it's so perfectly spicy - even the rice seems to have an extra kick to it. So, if you ask me, this place is definitely worth a visit. Ramirez' is not fancy--formica tables and plain chairs in two areas within a very complete grocery store with lots of take out options too. All of the meals from the menu are posted as photos on the wall of the inner restaurant section. Helps you decide. My favorite item is the wet burrito. Have had that and the taco salad a couple of times. Salad ingredients always fresh. Last time there I ordered the flan. It was the best that I ever had including in Spain. This is a locally owned, family run business. I am sure it meets the grocery and service needs of Hispanics in the community. However, everyone is welcome. Service is warm and friendly and helpful.
