My go to for good food at a good price close to home. Staff is always kind and attentive. Food always tastes fresh. I always order the Charcuterie Board that never disappoints with the fig compote! Priced at the all time reasonable price of $18. Next is the Margherita Pizza at $14 delicous I always order it if I am not ordering the Bison Burger. $24 you can get the Porter House which is grilled pork with sauteed spinach roma tomatoes and onions. Lastly for less than $10 is the kids pasta with marinara which is a basic spaghetti with fries. Give this place a go! Great atmosphere, clean, and well lit. Nice big bar and bar area, with plenty of other seating. Service wasn't the best but wasn't the worst either, I have a feeling they were short staffed though. My meatloaf had all the flavor and potential in the world but the griddle reheating process dried it out a bit. The fried green tomatoes were pretty awesome though, and they have an awesome beer selection. I am in town visiting a friend and I found this place close to my hotel. I am so glad I actually came here! Some of the best food I've had in a very long time. I had a beet salad that was so delicious and fresh and perfect on this hot day. I also got a peach and goat cheese and mozzarella pizza. It was very good. This place is awesome. We arrived last night about 7:15, not realizing that they close at 8:00. I hate being the type of person that comes into a restaurant within less than an hour of closing even though I know it's quite common. Either way it was still quite busy and we were seated immediately. The interior is very nice, inviting, and comfortable. Our server was very friendly and offered good suggestions. We started with the Brussels and Bacon. I'm convinced that even those who despise vegetables would enjoy this dish. The brussels are fried, mixed with bits of bacon, and topped with a balsamic glaze. They are simply incredible. We agreed that a few of these dishes could suffice as the entire meal. However, we had some entrees in mind so we ordered the Flat Iron Steak and Lamb Chops. I subbed the fries with mashed potatoes for the steak which they happily accommodated. The steak had a good char to it, with a perfect medium temp inside. The mashed potatoes were some of the best that I've had at a restaurant, they tasted like aunt carol's on Easter Sunday. The lamb was really good as well, and the vegetables that came with it with cooked perfectly, not too soft, not too crunchy. Our first visit won't be our last visit to Range! We came in without reservations at 4pm and were seated right away. It filled up pretty quickly so next time I think we will go ahead and reserve. The restaurant is in a shopping center with tons of parking. Easy to find in the heart of Roseville. The inside decor was friendly and welcoming, with a nice bar and all types of seating: high top, low top, booths.... They also have a smallish private room. They only serve wine and beer, not a full bar. I had the Prosecco which was nicely priced. My husband ordered the burger and fries and he said it was the best hamburger he's ever had! (And he's had a lot of burgers!) I had the meatloaf which was also very delicious. We got two desserts - I recommend the apple crisp. Service was fast and friendly. We've gone without reservations and we're seated quickly, although we've heard reservations are a must. Service has always been pleasant and attentive. Their menu includes a good range (get it) of typical starters, burgers and salads to more adventurous game meats. We loved been the boar bacon artichoke dip and meatballs. But our absolute favorites have been the pizzas. Their thin crust with just the right amount of toppings. Price wise is on the higher end than most places but definitely worth it. Dined there last night for the first time. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Two of us had the fried chicken which was presented well however, the chicken was tough and chewy. A real disappointment. It's so sad to see a chicken dish served in such a fashion. I suggest the chef visit chic fil A and purchase one of their sandwiches. That's how chicken should taste, flavorful, tender, moist.... Whatever, the Range is doing to prepare the fried chicken, they should change it... I charitably, in the interest of supporting local employment and businesses in Roseville, I initially rated this place a 4 stars because my first visit last week, early afternoon, on Wed. or Thurs., may not be a typical experience which has earned a steady 4 to five stars from more frequent patrons. But because the lasagna entree had the texture of undercooked pasta (different from al dente), and I had to slice parts of it twice with a knife, plus it must have been baked day before and reheated in a microwave, I am changing the rating down to a three stars. I also ordered an arugula salad featuring carrots and turnips. It is uncommon nowadays to find restaurants serving arugula, and even a rarer experience to be served turnips. However, the bitsy size pieces of turnips and carrots failed to add more texture and flavor. I did not pay to just enjoy the arugula with a teasing amount of two veggies of which I really wanted to enjoy parsnips. However, the dressing was perfectly coated each morsel of the salad. A restaurant cook failing to prepare and have a tender lasagna is not worthy of forgiveness. I understand prices and portions have to be adjusted to survive, but the taste, texture and quality of the food served cannot be compromised. read more

Celebrated my husband's birthday here tonight. We started with the skillet meatballs, brussel sprouts, and beat salad. My husband liked the lamb chops, my son loved his fried chicken, and my daughter and I really enjoyed the pizza. Friendly and attentive staff, music not too loud for good conversation, and a nice vibe. Only a few little things- brussel sprouts were a touch overdone and the salad was heavily dressed. Came across this place during a last minute check of places in Roseville that were open for indoor dinning, and that was touted as having really good food....and this is how my girlfriend and I stumbled upon Range Kitchen & Tap. We made reservations on a Saturday evening because we were coming from out of town, and wanted to make sure we'd be seated indoor versus outdoors. With all of the fires going on at the time in California. We arrived for our reservations and some minor confusion occurred with us being greeted by a hostess filling in, and another group being helped 1st. After the main hostess come back. But everything was quickly sorted and we were sat at a table for two in the main side of the restaurant. My girlfriend and and decided on the roasted brussle sprouts and fried green tomatoes for our appetizer, and I got the watermelon cider. And for our main entrees we got the 'Fresh Catch' which happened to be a Halibut for this particular night, and I ordered the Forager Pizza. Which comes with roasted wild mushrooms, mozzarella and goat cheese, bacon lardons, white truffle oil. And everything was so delicious and paired really well. Vegan review Checked this spot out with my omnivore family. I called in advance to check that a vegan option was available. I was thrilled when I was told they have vegan cheese! I modified the forager cheese (basically vegan cheese, mushrooms & truffle oil). I devoured the entire thing at the restaurant. My family had the beet salad, bavette steak, and meatloaf and loved every bite. The whole vibe and decor is very nice welcoming since I'm a sucker for "hipster" type of spots. This place is a treat. They serve free range meat like bison and elk so you get none of the contaminants that affect normal beef. The staff there is great. It is a perfect place to go for lunch by yourself, or with a date fancy and decadent with a reasonable price. I had the "elk pops". And they were great served with fingerling potatoes. Sidenote, it is not good for your body to eat meat and potatoes at the same time -- google it to find out why. So I took my potatoes home and I ate them later -- delicious. read more

Disappointing sums up our last two experiences. The current team is unable to properly prepare their steak dishes. First entree was over cooked, second is raw (ordered med rare). I tried the Bison ribeye and it tasted like old Adidas. We all have good and bad days, but the frustrating part was how the restaurant handled the situation. Charged for the entree that was prepared incorrectly and on top of that, charged an extra kitchen gratuity for not cooking the food we ordered properly. My husband, mother-in-law and I ate there today with my retired aunt and her husband. We arrived when the restaurant opened. The food was mostly tasty: at our table we had the jalepeno popper pizza, which is a favorite of my aunt's husband, the slider trio, the calamari and fries starter (my mother in law wanted that as her lunch but we all tasted the calamari and it was delicious), the western burger and I had the beet salad to which I added chicken. The calamari and beet salad were probably the best although the chicken for my salad was incredibly dry. The beets themselves were fabulous. My husband liked the burger but found it to be too much beef. That is just personal preference though. Service was very slow and everyone's entrees came out at very different times, which was awkward. My aunt wanted to order two sliders (bison and chicken). On the menu, they have three items with two sliders: two beef, two chicken, or two bison. They are all of the same price, so she asked if she could have one bison and one chicken and the answer was no, and we could not figure out why. read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch and had the most delicious hamburger I've had in decades: the Range Burger. The burger was perfectly cooked. The condiments (tomatoes, onions, pickles and lettuce) were all chopped up, spreading the flavors evenly over the burger. The beer cheese sauce was a perfect combination for the flavors. The Bacon and Brussels were good too. I highly recommend this place if you are craving a good burger. We will have to work our way through the menu, but it will be hard not to order the burger every time. read more

Saturday, 10/3/2020 - Tried Range Kitchen & Tap restaurant tonight with my lovely friends. Upon arrival, lots of parking! They have tables to eat outside and inside dining. The foods here are EXCELLENT! Every dish we got was superb and full of flavor. None of us was disappointed. When I arrived, they seated me before everyone arrived. There was no waiting. Our waiter checked on us constantly and provided refills where it was needed. When we needed extra plates and forks, he got it for us right away. After, we got our tab, he put everything on one bill. We asked him to separate it for us and he did!! This waiter was really nice and had great customer service. My thoughts on this cute place? Pros: 1) plenty of parking 2) dining available inside and outside 3) there's a bar 4) customer service was excellent! Our waiter was super nice and attentive. 5) restaurant was clean 6) all the silverware, plates, and cups were clean. 7) seating was roomy 8) table setting was nice 9) every single dish we order was excellent! I will definitely go here again. 10) women's bathroom has 3 stalls, 2 sinks, and fully stocked. Cons: 1) absolutely no cons! Conclusion: I highly recommend this place. Customer service was superb. We've been here a couple times now, and the experience was very good both times. The indoor and outdoor seating are both nice, depending on weather. The food is delicious and they have some unique options. The drink names are interesting. The potato croquettes were alright (soft mashed potato texture inside and crunchy outside). The salmon and Elk were both great and cooked pretty much perfect. The Chocolate Pot de Creme was wonderful. The cheese board is nice and better than other places I've tried. The pizza is amazing (but it depends what kind of pizza you're in the mood for). The scallops were decent. I don't really have any negative feedback other than in service, but the service was at least 4.5 star anyway. We didn't have to wait too long, and the staff were helpful and there when needed.
