Nope, he was finished and upset that I told him the repairs were very poor. He redid them and when he retextured he did the texture sideways instead of up and down. Very poor quality. The skim coating was 2 days for first coat then 2 days for second coat. We chose smooth finish with no texture and boy was it bad. The finished product has divots and high places that look like a 4 year old did it. Now onto the cleanup. He didn't hang plastic in the doorways so the entire house is covered in dust from sanding. I'm talking the ENTIRE HOUSE! Everything and I mean everything is covered in drywall dust. It took us 3 days just to clean the kitchen. I'm talking every cabinet and everything in every cabinet. Without exaggeration The entire house! I'm really mad at myself for not stopping him after the first day.

Rudy sold his services as a General Contractor but didn't do anything to actually manage the project other than organize some subcontractors. I had to PM most of it myself. He passed on his subcontractors' pricing without ever questioning it. He brought down his quotes several thousand dollars after I called different things into question. He did nothing to educate me on things that needed to be done such as sealing the marble tiles on the shower floor. I spent $25k on a bathroom renovation and the shower floor looks like crap after just a few weeks. Spare yourself and hire a different contractor! Who knows what it'll cost me now to fix it, but it won't be with Rudy.

If we didn't call them out on it, they probably would've never told us about it either. Another thing is, when they sent us a quote, it included removal of the carpets. When I told them that we had already removed the carpets and staples, they still did not adjust the price. They came back and just said that the original quote was already "discounted". They never mentioned which one was discounted from the previous quote. We asked them about it and nothing specific was being said about which item was actually "discounted". Again, a flaw in the communication chain. On the day of installation, even though the installers did a good job, it would've helped a lot of one of them can actually speak and understand English. They had the radio blaring. I had asked them to turn it down but I don't think they even understood what I'm saying. My husband works from home and is having conference calls all day and I'm homeschooling my kids while I'm working on my desk. And these guys doesn't seem to mind talking loudly to each other and crank up their radio. To the owner, please look into this as not all the residents you service are Spanish-speaking. I didn't want to ruffle feathers and didn't want them to take it out on me and do a poor job if I call them out, so I sent my kids outside. It's a hassle, to say the least. They came out disconnected/removed plumbing, removed old sink, removed old countertops and installed new countertops & sink. However, did not reconnect plumbing. Contacted owner and he basically said reconnecting plumbing wasn't agreed upon (If you take something apart I would expect it to be put back). Owner said the granite installers are not plumbers. Ex: If I pay for an auto brake job on my car. I wouldn't expect them to take wheels off, fix the breaks and then tell me I need to take it to a tire shop for them to put the wheels back on. If putting wheels back on is additional let me know before leaving car disassembled." The granite installer who disconnected the plumbing, ironically was the same person to hook it back up. He also had all the tools to do the job with him for an additional fee. Plumbing reconnection was still an additional expense. Owner offered plumbing work at $350.00 after they were going to leave the home with plumbing disconnected. After going back and forth and a heated discussion he offered to do it at his cost no up charge for $125. Owner later apologized for yelling and not being upfront he said he was having a bad day and hadn't been paid for another service that had nothing to do with me. The damage was already done and I had paid for my service 3 weeks in advance. At the end of the day. That option should have been discussed prior to installation and not after installation. It was a surprise to me and how he handle it with was distasteful. Again.... the slab was good, price was good and the granite installer did a great job. Full disclosure would've been awesome. The response to the issue was terrible.

This is very important to me and our company, as we are not local to the property we needed his assistance with. We approved his estimate to replace the roof on October 1st, which was eventually finished, in roughly 55 days. On October 8th, while waiting for the roof to be replaced, I asked if he knew of a good company that could assist with minor remediation work. Ralph said they handle a lot of repair/mitigation work and would be happy to help us with that portion as well. I was thrilled. We approved his estimate on October 16th, and this minor remediation job is STILL not complete. What should have taken 1-2 weeks at the most, I am here writing this 5 months later. I can't believe I let this go on as long as I have, and I'm embarrassed to admit it, but he kept assuring me it would be wrapped up soon. I was told THREE times he had passing air sample results from testing he had completed, and each time he claimed to have the report, he never sent it to me. It was either the testing company's fault for the delay in getting it to me, the report was on a laptop in a different city (four hours away), or he was on vacation and about to get on a flight so he couldn't email it, it was ALWAYS something. I finally reached out to a reputable remediation company that said he could complete the remediation work in a couple of days and would have results for me just a few days after that. I have lost a ton of time and money over this minor job because of Ralph Valenciano's dishonesty. Do yourself a favor and do a quick Google search before deciding to go down this road. I wish I did.
