It has been a while since I wrote a review, but I'll make an exception to give you the scoop about one of my favorite brew pubs : Rapscallion. The beer alone would be a reason to travel here to try it (and the smoked wings are the best in the area), but what really sets this place apart is the friendly feeling you get from the owner and staff. If you frequent this place, you will probably be known by name, and if you become a member of the mug club, you can hang a mug with whatever name you want to be known by on the wall. The bartenders are talented, fun, and friendly. Ask Carlos to make you his famous espresso martini if you dare (it is delicious) but please call for an Uber if you do. If you've been searching for a place that's friendly and inviting, where the beer and cocktails are great and everyone really does know your name, try Rapscallion. Tell'em UJ sent'ya. Cute place with outdoor seating. Yummy beers and cocktails with made in house syrups and add-ins. Food was fresh and well prepared. We split a half order of the arugula salad and an appetizer of the fried artichokes- both excellent - the batter was light and the oil that it was fried in very fresh! We also split a classic burger - ask for any condiments you may want as it comes dry. Overall very good and we will return! Oh and it's worth mentioning Hannah our server was the perfect waitress - attentive and courteous but not obtrusive. read more

3.3333333_ Stars The location is an authentic New England Public House. The bar is small but cozy. The dining room spaces are segmented, the area near the bar has high top tables. The food and the ale/beer were good but not great. My burger(3/5) was better than the Poutine Fries(2/5), the latter had unsatisfactory amount and distribution of cheese curds. The gravy was thin and seeped to the bottom of the bowl leaving many fries with no cheese and no gravy. I had to perform a rescue operation to make the dish work, re-mixing fries and curds and excavating the gravy to coat the majority of the potato surface. The Black IPA had a rich texture slightly hopped ale (3/5) it was decent but it did not impress. I liked the Honey (3.3/5) better which was surprising as I normally prefer the darker ales. The "Larger" was Octoberfest I had a sample and found it lacking. If I lived nearby I would probably be a regular but it isn't a destination resturant. * parking: lot ample but does get crowded. * service was chaotic. * overall atmosphere was pleasant. read more

We've patronized this restaurant many times and it has consistently been a good experience. Once they had a glitch, apologized and compensated us with free desert. This is our go-to now for dinner out. The outside dining was really nice this past summer. They got the formula right here. read more

Came in from out of town to meet a friend, and so glad we did! Met by the owner; warm, friendly and accommodating through our stay. We started off with a flight from their seven or so home brewed choices. My fav's were the red and lager. Most pack an alcoholic punch, so a 10oz is equivalent to a standard 16oz. The Rapscallion Burger was my choice, and probably the best burger I ever had. Seriously. Salads were special as was my friend's meal, so we had no room for dessert. Would I come to visit here again? Not only do they have great beer but their food is delicious too. Unfortunately they don't have as big of the beer selection as their Brewery does but they are hoping to expand and be able to brew at this location too. We have eaten here a couple of times and of course just stop by for a few drinks too. I have personally enjoyed the fish tacos on a corn tortilla with a wonderful sauce/ salsa and some veggies on top. Where there is a fish taco, I will go! Personal preference, I like a flour tortilla over the corn. But I will eat both. And enjoy both. Just like the soft flour ones a bit better. I also enjoyed the smoked wings. They had a wonderful smoked flavor and a nice crispy skin. My partners in crime had the poutine (both times and both times gone in minutes and plate licked clean) an order of the Maine mussels. Again bowl licked clean and sauce soaked up with bread. The meatloaf sandwich and of course our Mac and cheese friend had just that per usual. The meatloaf sandwich could have had more meat to the loaf.... The bread was higher than the actual meatloaf. But it was tasty and no other complaints. This place is small and quirky on the inside and it gives it charming quality it also has a cute little outdoors seating area. It feels like you're sitting outside your own house. Can't wait for the nice weather so we can go and hang outside at their house there's nothing better than outdoor seating with great food, good drinks and good friends. We hoped that easter delivery would be so much better. My partner has cancer and has been feeling very ill recently. We decided to order outfit easter. We ordered meals and after 45 min I received call saying my dish was out but the other orders had been processed and were out for delivery. I was told I would need to submit a new order if I wanted to change. By the time the food was delivered the calamari was not hot and crispy, was very sour tasting, and the steak meal was over cooked. Super disappointed in our easter dinner. Would not recommend. read more

This place is amazing! We've been several times. The beer is delicious; the menu extensive and scrumptious; the staff super friendly. Plus dogs are welcome in the expansive patio. In addition to all this, the team is so helpful. Our car battery died while we were eating and the manager, Peter, pulled out his car to give us a jump. Our server came over to see if we were ok. Great place! Always busy, so make a reservation. Thier food all seems to be scratch made...and all delicious. Thier wings appetizer are some of the best wings I've ever had. They're smoked, and kind of taste like kielbasa. One time we came without a reservation, a little before the big rush. My wife and I were very hungry from running around all day. We asked to be seated in the still quite empty restaurant. I wasnt blind to the fact that people were streaming in with reservations, so we were disappointed but understanding when we were denied a table. We talked for a bit with the hostess and she checked around and got us a table, presumably which was being held for a later reservation. We promised to eat quickly since she was unsure about if she had made the right decision. All was well and we had a quick and delicious meal. The beers are also very good, I have yet to try them all, but I'm working on it. If I had to be honest, it's more expensive than I would have thought, and from what I could tell (going for lunch and dinner) there was no separate lunch menu, which resulted in a pretty pricey lunch one day. Everything is 5 star here, just be mindful of the price, especially if you start drinking. read more

Was really hoping to like this place, however it fell short of expectations. Although the menu is creative and looks great, the execution was lacking. My biggest issue was the poutine with short rib. The short rib was sliced rather than slow cooked and didn't have much flavor. I also tried the grilled cheese and burger, both of which were average. In the area, stopped in for lunch. Wicked awesome! Our server Lori was the best. All smiles even dealing with hungry kids. The kids menu and food are perfect for kids. Prepared and portioned for kids. I hate when you order a kids menu item and a place makes it too fancy. Kids don't want fancy, they want good food. Don't get me wrong the kids menu isn't plain or boring. It is fresh, flavorful and also pleasing to a child's eye. Off the kids menu we got the cheeseburger and grilled cheese. Able to switch side on kids menu items at no charge. We got sweet potato fries with the grilled cheese. Also, ask for extra veggies on the side, they pickle their own veggies. Best I've ever had. The kids were fighting over the pickles. Off lunch menu we ordered pulled pork sandwich and the duck confit grilled cheese. Both are awesome. Pulled pork was perfect. Not over sauced or too much slaw. Perfect balance, can taste the flavor profile. Duck confit grilled cheese didn't disappoint. Tons of the confit flavor you look for. Perfect lunch sandwich. Also got a flight of beers. As good as any big brewery. Beer crisp, clean and plenty of flavor. Highly recommend this place. They have a bar so stop in if you just want a pint and a sandwich. The setting and outside eating area is lovely. The drinks are delicious and plentiful. The food, however, could use some work. We had poutine served without gravy ( we sent it back & had a new, correct order prepared), and our steaks were well done when we ordered med rare. The broccoli rabe was crunchy, almost raw, and under seasoned, and the potatoes were the same. Disappointing faire. I will return for a drink and maybe a Bavarian pretzel with some bocce, but will not be ordering a meal. read more

I love this place. The Acton area needed a cozy little gastropub, and now it has one. They've got their own craft beers and some really amazing foods, plus they change the menu seasonally so it doesn't get boring. Among some of the highlights are the poutine (which has been featured on the Phantom Gourmet) and the fig & prosciutto grilled cheese sandwich, though the whole menu is the kind where you want to order one of everything. Great restaurant with great food! The owner and staff are very friendly and care for their customers. He always recognizes and greets us when we visit, although we are not there very often. The Bloody Marys are GREAT and their seafood is fresh and fantastic. My wife and my kids love their hamburgers and lighter fare. In the summertime, they have a patio with tables where one can seat outside and enjoy their great draft beer selection and lighter fare. They also have music in the evenings and even have heaters in case it is a cool night. A great place and great value for your money with delicious food to boot! read more

I love both the Rapscallion in Acton and Concord. The concord was my fave because I loved the bartender Carlos. He's super friendly and really great at making drinks! Their food was fantastic! I love the mussels and the salmon. The one in Acton is also great. They have more outside dining available right now than the one in Concord. Three girlfriends and I went to the Acton location for dinner and we would highly recommend! Friendly service from beginning to end and very comfortable/cozy atmosphere! It's a place you could stay for hours. The new fall menu is exciting and offers a variety of options. We all loved our meals, no complaints. Honestly, SUCH a good experience. The food was great and my friend and I had no complaints throughout our time there (which is impressive considering we're both a little picky haha!) A major contributor, in my opinion, was our server, Katie, who was just wonderful. She was very bubbly and she was able to answer all our questions about the meals we were interested in (I'm dairy-free and my friend has two serious allergies). Aside from her personality and what she knew, I actually really appreciated her timing. There wasn't a single point where I felt like we were waiting for water refills for too long or like she was checking in on us too frequently. This was a nice find. Good but not great beers, solid lineup of several classics. My favorite was the Coffee Stout, my wife's was Blonde. Try the flights, you can sample all of their offerings. There are better beers out there but there are certainly worse. I'm not sure I would pick this up at a store but with dinner there or hanging out at the bar, these are great. The food is where this place shines. Yes, it's on the heavy side for the most part but there are many more lighter options than I would have expected from other reviews. The Short Rib Grilled Cheese was ridiculously awesome but you certainly can't make a habit of eating that. My Fish and Chips had a very nice carrot radicchio slaw and just the right amount of fish and chips if I hadn't gotten the Mushroom Cherry Tomato Flatbread of the Moment as an app. Portions are not huge and I took half the fish and chips home very satisfied. This place pops out of nowhere and looks like a house from the main street. Parking is a challenge as the place was packed but you can easily park across the street. Great restaurant tends to get crowded on weekends and on Friday nights. A good choice. It is also a place that has great atmosphere.

I have wanted to go here forever! We went on a beautiful Saturday and were so looking forward to our first meal in a restaurant for almost a year. Our waitress was probably the worst we have ever had. Hardly spoke and just seemed miserable. The food was also eh. Ok. Not great and certainly not worth the $70 for lunch?!??! We might come back for a beer outside but would run for the hills if we had the same waitress. read more
