Four of us ate here recently and I was the only one who was happy with their meal. Nachos were cold and when we told the waiter he said "I'll tell the kitchen for next time". We didn't get fresh hot nachos and ours were not removed from the bill. Husband asked for a salad and got fries. Asked for no cheese on his burger and got cheese. I've been very pleased here in the past but this was not a good visit. But the beer was great! read more

We came here the other night as we'd heard good things. It's a pretty place tucked away from the main drag, but it's not small. Parking can be a challenge, their lot and the lot across the street were both full so I had to park on the side of the road. It was nice that they had someone out there directing people where to park. The restaurant itself is in an old house and there's a patio for outdoor seating, and I loved the inside. It's intimate and cozy with a lot of cool paintings and vintage prints, and their bathrooms are probably my favorite out of any I've been to. I know it's weird to say that but it's true; they're nicely decorated, clean, and they have a changing table in one of them, which is very thoughtful. The staff are beyond friendly and were so attentive, that was a highlight as well. And the beer -- come for the beer! We each got a flight of 4, which was the best thing ever. You can't go wrong with their IPAs, I'm an IPA gal and theirs were excellent. The food was decent. All of it needed seasoning and salt across the board. We ordered fried brussels sprouts and they didn't have any salt on them. I got the full house salad with salmon, and while the salmon was good (needed salt) the salad itself was on the smaller side, and without the salmon it was $10. That's a bit much for a handful of greens and a few vegetables on a plate. The dressing was very vinegar-y. The side of sweet potato fries was yummy but served cold. My friend's short rib grilled cheese didn't really have any cheese, she was expecting something rich and decadent. I would definitely come back for beer and maybe to try another dish, but the food isn't the main draw for me here. It's the beer, people and the atmosphere! read more

I ordered Penne ala Vodka, which said it came with chicken, asparagus, mushrooms, etc. What arrived was a big bowl of pasta, with approximately 1 oz of chicken, 1 stock of asparagus, both cut into tiny pieces, 0 mushrooms and a delightful sauce. Reasonable prices considering the quality of the food. We started with the scallops wrapped in bacon and they were incredibly tasty. My girlfriend got the risotto and we both absolutely loved it. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty damn good as well. Lastly, my mom got the lentil and buckwheat burger and she enjoyed it thoroughly. The fries are great too! Ok I have been to this establishment on several occasions. And they have yet to disappoint. Today was the final straw to give them 5 stars. My girlfriend and I decided to stop for a beer and apps. We ordered the smoked wings, and the poutine. To to with the apps, she had the honey ale, and I had the iPad. The beers came out first and as always tasted great. Then the apps came out. The poutine was the perfect size of cheesy, melty, beefy, french fry goodness. And the smoked wings, are definitely in my top 3 for chicken wings. Smoked perfectly, and you dont even need any sauce. So seriously. Take a ride out to Acton. The coziness, food, and drinks are some of the best in new england. read more

Very disappointing experience. They were understaffed and ill prepared for the number of people. Steak tips were raw, vegetable was cold and salty: and not the vegetable asked for. Appetizer was served at same time as meal. Wait staff were clearly frazzled by the whole situation and were infrequently seen. First and last time visiting this restaurant. Not a huge fan of a cheese plate appetizer being charged more than an meal? Hmm. Hot cider was not so good and the main dish was vastly disappointing. It must have been a bad night? Unfortunately I have to give Rapscallion a very poor review and this is really disappointing as I have always raved about them. It appears they have a new chef and as a result don't have any food to offer. Went for dinner and had to order off the lunch menu because they have a new chef and the dinner menu is too much too handle. My husband had to change his order as they ran out of short ribs. The poor guy at the table next to us couldn't even get a burger, and that was his 2nd choice. Ran out of Mac & cheese. If you wanted dessert it was tiramisu or nothing. On the plus side, most of what we were able to order was tasty although my steak tips were not cooked consistently and 1/2 of them were overcooked. I had really been looking forward to going there and it was such a let down. I for one won't be back anytime soon. read more

We celebrated my son's birthday at Rapscallion in Acton a week ago. All five of us enjoyed our dinner plates. The food and ambiance was very good. I ordered Garlic Sesame Salmon and it was fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant to celebrate special occasions. Only negative experience that we had were the blood sucking mosquitoes. read more

Recently I ate lunch at Rapscallions in Concord - once outside and once inside. Both times I had a very enjoyable experience. The food is very tasty. I had a hamburger the first time and I love a good hamburger! The second time I ordered the mussels on the appetizer menu. The mussels were great - a large dish of tender mussels in their shells cooked in a very tasty tomato sauce. I was impressed that the sauce had real flavor including pieces of hot green peppers which added a zing. The oven seared bread served with the mussels were a perfect accompaniment. The atmosphere is like a relaxed pub. Very comfortable. And they have they best waiter in town! I believe his name is Enrique. He takes care of everything. He is very alert and notices what you need when you need it. He is also friendly without being hovering. He is a terrific waiter! I will definitely go back to Rapscallions. read more

Great little gem tucked away in Concord. We went for lunch this weekend and sat inside - the outdoor patio was jamming. This is an old house turned restaurant so every corner is charming. The beer is great (says hubby) and the Guatamelon was amazing. (Organic vodka will cold pressed watermelon). Burger, flatbread and salmon burger all hit the spot!! read more

It makes me sad to leave a 3-star review, but yesterday we had our second very frustrating dining experience here. The service was so scattered and underwhelming. It took about 30 minutes for us to receive a watered down Coke, our server forgot she took our appetizer order and asked us again if we wanted to order an appetizer, no one checked to see if we needed anything once food was delivered, and we spent half of our meal waiting for another tiny glass of water (we noticed other tables had a pitcher, and thought we could ask for one, but could never get the server's attention). The reason I am sad to leave this review is that the food is excellent (albeit part of my dish was delivered cold, which was probably also a service issue). It is unfortunate that a place with such a nice ambience and an excellent cook provides unsatisfactory service experience for its customers. Given the relatively high prices of food, Rapscallion should look into hiring more seasoned staff or retraining for a better customer experience. read more

Ww were searching for a venue where we could have a pre-wedding meet and greet the day before our daughter got married. After one location flamed out in the planning stages, I reached out to Peter and the folks at Rapscallion, and I couldn't be happier with how the event turned out. Our group of 40 was under the tent on a perfect summer evening, and the service (led by Val) was exceptional. Decided to try this need on the other reviews and want disappointed. The traffic to get there was the worst part nothing to be done about that. The staff greeted me quickly and I was seated outside, really nice patio. I was immediately made aware that the menu was limited on Monday's but it still seemed more than enough options. Great outdoor space! We stop here whenever it's sunny and we're passing Acton on our way to pick fruit in Harvard, MA. They make their own beer, a solid product comparable to any micro brew. Their wine selection is diverse and likely to satisfy any palate. The staff there always seems a bit surprised that they're busy but they manage. The food is good. You're not going to write home about it but you'll be satiated and happy to have sat outside for lunch or dinner. read more

Went there last night with 4 people and had a few drinks before our outdoor table was ready... the beers were ice cold and unique, the atmosphere is strangely chill (like you're at a Napa vineyard), and time kinda flew by. Next thing, our picnic table was ready, plenty of space between other customers, people next to us had a dog (50% of the place had a dog), and we weren't rushed in the slightest. We each got something different and my bean burger and beet salad was legitimately perfect. Everyone has been raving about it since we left. Overall prices weren't bad, $8 a beer (I think), bar staff could have been a bit quicker to the tap and maybe mixing in a female or two wouldn't hurt, our waitress was delightful, it was a terrific night out... Tried out Rapscallion, because it was about a half mile from the the excellent Bruce Freeman path. Great place to take a break from a bike ride. Friendly staff and good service despite being very busy on a weekday afternoon. Tried a flight of beers and every one was delicious. I recommend the Saison. Excellent salad too. The chicken was grilled to perfection. Nice searing on the outside, but not at all overcooked. Looking forward to going back. read more
