We checked out the new Rare Tea on their opening day. Of course it was packed, which was to be expected. It was nice they were giving out a buy one get one deal to grab customers in. We tried the Thai milk tea and a strawberry milk tea, we added brown sugar boba to both. We also asked for half sugar, which was a smart choice. But they messed up the order and took awhile to fix it, not sure if it was correct in the end. Either way both drinks ended up being really good, the taste was definitely there and the boba was fresh. I liked the added sweetness to the boba itself, it's different from your typical honey boba. This boba spot never fail to disappoint me. The ONLY place when it comes to milk tea, because they actually have the option of using REAL milk. Most boba places use non-dairy mill such as powdered milk or half-half in their milk teas. They also have the option of Oat Milk. My favorite is the Roasted Oolong Tea Presso with extra tea. Rare Tea Chandler is one of the newer boba tea shops in my area, and I had to give it a try. I know what I like from places like Rare Tea, but I decided to try their most popular item (according to the employee I asked) and ordered their Okinawa Milk Tea. The tea I had was very good, and I was more than pleased with the amount of boba that was present. Some places are a little light on the amount of boba that they use, but I wouldn't say that is true of Rare Tea. With that said, the drink I had is virtually identical to basically every other classic milk tea I've ever had. Good by all accounts, but nothing in particular stood out to me as particularly special. I was greeted warmly. I browsed through the menu and wanted a milk tea - Heavenly goddess. This is where I was a little unhappy, the staff didn't know the menu and kept asking what it was, even after explaining and telling what I wanted, the staff wasn't sure. I also asked for 50% sugar and 50% ice but the tea I got had 0 sugar, it was a little frustrating by then. I went with lychee jelly, The pricing came as a surprise, I paid $7.50 for the regular size. Look no further. RareTea is the holy grail, the nirvana of milk/boba tea establishments. Seriously, RareTea is exactly what they claim: rare. If you want the best tasting boba and/or milk tea anywhere inside the 202 loop, this is your store. You could say that I have high standards and exquisite taste. I've tried many, many, many milk/boba tea joints. I've given up on Bubble Bee altogether, for example. I don't care that they're in Kierland and SanTan. Their boba is typically cold and too hard. Nowhere on this planet have I ever seen matcha with rose syrup, except at RareTea. It's absolutely divine and that'd be my first recommendation. My second recommendation would be the "Okinawa" which I believe is hojicha, aka roasted tea. Absolutely phenomenal. It's hard to choose between the two, but with either of these, you can't go wrong. The service is always friendly, the premises are always clean. Plenty of parking. Located near the 202 freeway, movie theaters, restaurants and even Home Depot, it's a good idea to drop in for your favorite pick-me-up instead of doing Starbucks. Make sure you make RareTea your regular. It's the only place I'll buy boba/milk tea drinks anymore. read more

My favorite boba shop in the area. Tried both the signature and oolong teapresso milk teas and both had great roast-y flavors that were able to stand out even with the strong creaminess of the milk. Their matchas are my brother's favorite because honestly ceremonial grade matcha makes all the difference-- enough tea flavor without that chalky aftertaste that a few other boba shop matchas have left. Would pass on the kiwi drink though a little too sweet and juice like for me even though it's a top seller. The aiyu jelly didn't quite match expectations as it is a little firmer(?) than what I've had at another location (in Berkeley, CA) Strawberry snow creme was ok as well, good fresh strawberry flavor. Not overwhelmingly sweet or artificial. Brown sugar boba with fresh milk was all the trend for a while and its a nice sweet treat if that's what you're in the mood for. The staff was very patient while I scanned their menu, and they were nice enough to direct me to their caffeine free drinks and also let me know they offer smoothies, as well. They had a subtle sweetness that balanced well with the bitter tea. I can't speak much for the other drinks my family got though the Strawberry berry tea was very refreshing. I will say that my parents, who are usually pretty picky, liked their drinks so that means something haha. Overall, would recommend this place for people to try out. I came here the first time and got strawberry matcha. It was amazing so I came back today but they were out of matcha. I tried to order brown sugar milk tea with oatmilk. The boba was 60% of the drink. I'm not a fan of boba and it was way too much. I gave to my boyfriend and he couldn't drink it either. Way way too much boba and no milk flavor. Wasted $7.5 and got another strawberry berry tea $6. Price is expensive compared to other boba milk tea places! I wasted $14 for just a drink!!! The brown sugar got into trash after it! Love that this place is very close to where we live and around all our favorite shopping spots. I was kind of worried my husband would be here everyday since he loves boba. However, prices are ridiculous. After adding boba it's a $7-$8 drink. On top of that customer service is not very pleasant. No one smiles or says thank you. The drinks are a hit and miss. Something that I loved about this place was the boba, it's quite rare where I find myself thoroughly enjoying the boba but I couldn't help but keep saying how chewy and delicious it was, it was the right texture for me! We came on opening day so it was crowded but the staff were extremely polite and even apologized for the long wait and thanked us for waiting! Since it was BOGO we got 4 drinks total: Strawberry berry snow cream, Brown sugar milk tea, taro smoothie (subbed pudding for boba), and kiwi fruit tea with aiyu jelly! The snow cream tasted like the cream cheese cream, milky and creamy, I really liked it when we mixed the strawberry and cream together! The kiwi fruit tea was refreshing and had a bit of a sour taste as you would expect from a lemonade. The other drinks are exactly what you would expect but I have no complaints over it because they were all delicious!
