Tim from Rays Plumbing was extra patient in describing the system problems and risks vs cost. He was careful not to soil floors as on time and well-mannered and well-spinen. That was not the case with the last company I called. The man looked at m as though I was bothersome and did little to explain what the problem was in monosyllabic answers that he wouldnt clarify so I was sus of that behavior and called Ray's because they were also adept and i formative when I needed a bathroom pump changed out years ago. Kyle, his assistant, was also great and even helped me move a large bookcase that the mold remediation company left for a single senior to move back into place. Kyle was attentive to Tim and aided in expediting a rather complex fix. Another company once did a repair and left a leaking air exchange fixture and had no explanation to my queries. But he did put a baggie over the electrical box to kee it from getting wet. There is such a dearth of good honest skilled workers who aren't trying to cheat you, inflate the costs and run! So both went over and above which I will remember and make referrals to friends in need of any of the services. It is also nice to have Plumbing and Heating services in the same company for one-stop servicing. Even Megan's handling of my original request with tact and her calming voice put me at ease at a time where everything seems to be going wrong with the house and car. That is quality which is underestimated by companies serving homeowners, which I learned from my Dad's Roofing/Siding company that he ran for 45 years. Never once did he advertise and was always busy climbing ladders until age 70! All were satisfied by his work and his honesty. The long and short of it is that we need Trusted companies in a world of lies and manipulation that seems to grow worse everyday. I had a very bad experience with this company. I did have a dishwasher installed and understandably it wasn't an easy project. Mike the plumber knew this going in and gave us a hefty quote to get it done. We agreed seeing as it wasn't a quick install. Mike was clearly frustrated as it took longer than he even anticipated. Apparently there was an issue with my sink which was "not his doing". He didn't say what happened but i did notice he had taken it apart. When he was finally done i had the money on the counter and when i left the room to get his tip he must have been annoyed as he didn't see the tip included. This is the only thing i can think of ....To make a long story short he became belligerent, telling me i should be thanking him for "fixing the sink at no charge"He proceeded to insult my kitchen telling me i bought a cheap sink and when i redo it i should spend more money on it. I can go on and on as i was uncomfortable and just wanted him to leave. After he treated me this way i kept the tip in my pocket and told him we were done here!! He walked out picked up the old dishwasher and literally dropped/threw it at the bottom of my property on its side on the grass. My husband called to complain as i he wasn't here and couldn't imagine someone treating a woman like this, of course there were apologizes on his behalf, my husband said he wanted a call from "Ray" himself.....its been a week, no call!! Now he was clean, the dishwasher was installed properly but the behavior and frustration that was clearly unprofessional was completely inappropriate and i would NEVER have them back or refer them to anyone!! read more

I was having issues with a regulator for my washer and needed this issue fixed asap. I came on yelp around 10pm to look for anyone that can help me with my issue and low and behold Ray the Plumber responded bright and early the next morning. It was fast and simple. I showed them photos and explained my issue. A representative reached out to me her name was Ronnie and was very nice and pleasant to speak with and set up the appointment. They came within the time frame stated. They keep you up to date with a text stating who was coming and a neat little description about them. Well lucky for me I got Connor Truck 54 and according to the description Connor enjoys the challenge of diagnosing problems and finding solutions. He feels plumbing is a very challenging but also very rewarding career. He loves to spend his free time with his wife and son. I have to say that I was hesitant to call Ray The Plumber, primarily because I thought it was a big business that was going to rip me off and not take a personal interest in my situation. But after being blown off by both plumbers and handymen again and again, I decided to forge ahead. I had two toilets that were giving me trouble off and on for a couple of years, and I was DONE. A technician, Connor, arrived within the window I was given, and he prepped the area with drop cloths. He even put a mat outside my front door! He was courteous, articulate and totally professional. I decided on the spur of the moment to replace both toilets. He had one on his truck, but had to call the shop for a second one to be delivered. I knew I was probably spending more than I would have, had I been inclined to shop for toilets, lug them home and then arrange another service call, but I was so happy that someone finally showed up, that I ordered the work on the spot. A second technician, Dennis, showed up, and both men worked simultaneously, completing the job quite expeditiously. As I said, I wasn't planning to spend so much money, but the convenience factor weighed heavily in this situation, so I am satisfied with my choice. First, let me set the stage to explain why I found this company to be exceptional. I live in North Carolina. My 94 year old mother lives in North Babylon, New York. Mom can be a bit confused at times and a bit demanding. There is also 2 people (family members)who live in her basement who are threatening, uncooperative, angry and filthy. Shawn M responded to my call for a plumber. Because of my distance and the virus restrictions, I had to rely on the information my mother provided as to the suspected problem. She also kept adding things to the list. Shawn kept me in the loop and worked on the major issue as well as all the "add-ins" from my mother. He did this in an environment that was hostile (the basement people refused to allow him into a major room that he needed to access for the main water line and the environment he had to work in was filthy.) Shawn maintained an excellent rapport with my mother and a fabulous sense of humor during the entire process. The job he was initially called for was completed by him within a few hours. The add-ons added several more hours that were not planned nor anticipated. Shawn took these on and completed each one. This was on a Saturday too! Just used Ray the Plumber for the first time and was happy. From the first phone call with Meaghan who patiently listened to my needs and was very accommodating when it came to scheduling. They confirmed the appointment via a text the day before and again the morning of to let me know a technician was on his way. Not only that, but they send a photo and the name of the technician (great safety touch) Connor was my technician. He arrived on time and even had shoe covers to put on so not to walk in my house with dirty shoes. Another awesome touch. I was already super impressed. I called them for a few things I needed addressed. I thought I needed my radiators bled, but after accessing the situation carefully it turned out I didn't need them bled. Connor explained why I was hearing an occasional knocking noise, and that I need not be concerned about it. He was friendly, knowledgeable, Honest and professional! I also needed an old kitchen faucet replaced as well as the spout in my tub replaced. Conner installed both and sealed everything and double checked to make sure everything was working perfectly before he left. I felt safe and confident... He did a great job. A leak in the lowy shower prompted a call to a plumbing service. I called Ray the Plumber and received service the next day as it was the next time that they had. The next day Mike showed up. He inquired about the problem and then proceeded to put down a drolcloth and a bucket to protect the shower. He carefully opened a small area for inspection. He repeated opening other parts of the ceiling until he determined that the pipes weren't the problem. Directly above the shower was the upstairs toilet. I went upstairs and flushed the toilet as Mike directed. It was the problem. There was a crack in the leadbed. There wasn't enough time available to complete the work that day so the leadbed was damed up to stop water from going into the shower. Water was restored to the house.Mike cleaned up and then departed. He came by with Tom to complete the work. With my KARMA there were some things that added to the jobs completion. When the job was almost complete the testing was done to insure that everything was working. After that both Mike and Tom cleaned up the work areas. They left for other assignments. Had a few plumbing scenarios that needed fairly immediate attention (shower faucet not shutting off, cracked pipe in basement feeding outside, several old, leaking, shut-off valves) - I sent an email via their website, around 630am and received a call-back around 715am from Corri in the office, and said Anthony would be out to the house by 9am. Anthony M. showed up exactly when promised, and was ready to deal with the issues as he ad the necessary information from dispatch to do so. He determined the cause of all of the issues, and the went to work for several hours, resulting in all of my short and long term issues being resolved in one visit, which is always a good thing! We had an issue with our toilet which was leaking from the base every time we would flush. Tommy came to check out the problem and was kind enough to explain the problem to us. He gave me two estimates at the time just to give me an option on how to fix the problem. He also went into the crawl space to see what was causing the blockage and found there was a major issue with the pipes connected to our toilet. Our pipe was cracked and leaking sewage into the crawl space. Tommy explained to us this was going to be a bigger job than anticipated and explained what we needed to do. Even though this was out of our price range from the original two estimates, we had to get it done as our property manager wanted nothing to do with it. That's a whole other issue we will have to follow back up on since we pay dues. However, Tommy was really kind and knowledgeable. When my water heater turned into more of an emergency I knew I needed this handled today. Turns out, the big box had set me up with a business hours away with terrible reviews! He and his team were prompt, professional, clearly knowledgeable, and genuinely great guys to work with. My situation was that I had a broken lead pipe toilet flange on a concrete slab. I didn't know any plumbers so I figured I'd called Ray the Plumber where they came and fixed the issue in one day. Two technicians came, they were focused on their work because this was a very difficult job to fix. It involved breaking through the concrete, digging up the dirt to reach a cast iron pipe that the lead waste pipe was connected to. They worked within the footprint of the toilet and fixed my waste pipe, flange, and I even purchased the toilet. Everything was one complete package. This job was a very difficult job and was fixed within 4 to 5 hours. They worked neatly and answered all of my questions throughout the process. My wife and I are very satisfied with the service and their work. I am so glad that I called them and my problem is now fixed. I would highly recommend. Our technician, Michael D, came to see how to reroute the hot/cold water to our laundry room and bathroom on the first floor. This was the result of an issue from a broken pipe in the basement from the week earlier. Since they couldn't access the broken pipe in the basement ceiling without breaking further into the wall, Michael determined it was better to cut into the wall in the first floor and reroute the hot/cold water from the bathroom to the washer and dryer. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. There was a small cut in the bathroom wall (which can be easily patched) and the other cuts are covered by the bathroom vanity. He worked along with 2 other technicians and the job was completed in about 4 hours. Michael is extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. He cleaned up the work area and left it spotless. I would highly recommend him as well as the other Ray the Plumber technicians. read more

My parents are re-modeling their bathroom, and my dad is super handy but he's just getting too old and too tired to have to do EVERYTHING on his own. They needed to move the toilet from one side of the room to the other, and move the shower drain back about 6 inches... definitely not something that pops could handle on his own. Connor from Ray the Plumber arrived at our home in a timely fashion. He quickly ascertained that we had a hot water pipe slab leak and clearly explained the repair process and quoted a price. I had a good idea ahead of time what it would cost and the quoted price was on the high end of the range I had in mind but fair. The job took about three hours and when finished was perfect. Floor repair and clean up was excellent and well beyond what most craftsman would do. Connor was polite and friendly and answered all questions we had about the project in professional manner. I called last night to make an appointment and withing 10 minutes someone called me back to let me know that someone would be at my house by 8:30 AM.
