    Tuna Melt Sourdough
    Ashley P.

Solid tuna melt at an outside food stand with limited seating. I've always ordered from here online ahead of time and picked it up, which is super easy. I'd like to try more of the menu in the future. Glad we have this option in the neighborhood!

I may be a little biased, but I'm also leaving an honest review. I've known Ray since he was selling paintings on the Venice boardwalk. His food is always fresh, tasty, high quality, generous portions, and most importantly, made with a smile. The Agua Frescas are so refreshing on a hot day, the breakfast burritos are big enough for two meals, the burgers are grilled to perfection, and the teriyaki bowls are delicious.

So we ordered a western bacon cheese burger and a cheese burger and fries. We cot a coke and a 50cent cup of ice for the coke. The order taker was very pleasant. The service was somewhat quick. At about 10 -15 minutes. Rays charbroiled the burgers which is a huge plus. Charbroiled is always better!! The fries were mediocre. The ice cold coke was fantastic lol. If you are on the west side and are looking for a great little hole in the wall burger and lots of other stuff kinda joint. Both burgers were very tasty. Really good.

One of my boys hadn't ever eaten at Ray's. His brothers and I always raved about it so today was his chance! As expected Ray greeted us warmly and was excited Hayden was finally getting a chance at his food. Today's feast was awesome. I truly believe there is no room for improvement. Ray is the GOAT of Teriyaki! See you again soon.

Stopped in to this to-go burger spot for my first time and really enjoyed it. They have a large menu and portions. Service was quick, everything that we ordered was cooked well and had some great flavor. Parking can be tricky in this part of town depending on the time, but I was able to find street parking one block away. Everything that we ordered came out really fast and pricing is fair. This is not a sit down and eat kind of place, it is designed for to go, which is what I chose to do for this first visit. I chose the Patty Melt and added avocado because it's filled with cheese and large patties. It had some great seasoning on the meat and the bread was perfectly toasted. The french fries on the side weren't my favorite but still enjoyable. I would recommend and visit again in the future to try different items.

Good food great service and nice ambiance, highly recommended and budget friendly. I normally order on ubereats and doordash and everything arrives hot fresh and perfectly packed

Fresh water menu and Pickup food counter

You don't go wrong in this place, from food to service it's amazing!! My favorite is the classic chicken teriyaki spicy sauce , I heard great things about the pastrami sandwich with egg and bacon so it's on my bucket list (update when I try it). Also their fresh water are great too! Thank you Ray and staff !!

Amazing burger and service definitely recommend this spot. I would come back again, way better than bonbon burger around the corner that they are too expensive and they even took 50 minutes to make my food one time and I never got the food. Ray's is definitely a superior option and the better neighborhood restaurant to spend your money at.

    Breakfast Burrito w/ Avocado
    Emerly

I ordered the Breakfast Burrito for pickup and they had it ready in no time! Tortilla is really good, can tell it's hand made. The peppers and avocado were great with the burrito as well! The person taking our order was very nice and there are seats outside where you can sit and enjoy your food :) Probably one of my favorite breakfast burritos near UCLA. 10/10 will be coming back again! fyi: They take card and cash but prefer cash. If your order is less than $20 there is a $0.50 surcharge for card.

Came to Rays for lunch and decided to get their tater tots supreme. Let me start off by saying I heard nothing but great things about Rays. The tots though were ehh. Huge let down, especially since many people were raving about this place. I give the tots a 4/10. They were fried a little too long the mayo was overpowered by the amount of cheese n them. They were really nothing special. Now that doesn't mean I won't be back to try other menu items and update my review. Plenty of seating outside expect to wait around 5-10 minutes for your food.

The burgers are very tasty and the patty melt. Their passion fruit (Maracuya) is very tasty too.

It's pretty cool that I only live a few blocks away from this place. The first time I came here it took a good amount of time for my food to be ready but I guess that's how you know it's made to order. It's pretty much a stand you walk up to and then there's some outdoor seating. This recent time I went I called ahead to put an order in. By the time I got there it was ready so I'll probably do this moving forward. I got the cheesesteak which was really good and I'll probably keep trying different things on the menu.

Pastrami and egg cheese melt (requested for no cheese)
    Kris H.

I ordered the pastrami, egg, and cheese melt. I requested for no cheese in my sandwich. The order was made fresh and super quick! I really enjoyed the sandwich. It is a shareable size as well! I'm not sure how this spot is usually with the crowd throughout the day since I stopped by when they first opened. There wasn't a line at the time. The shop/stall offers a to-go or dine in option. If you opt to dine-in, they have a couple seats right outside the stall.

Western bacon cheeseburger, or whatever they call it.

If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend making a stop here. My biggest piece of advice is to go early because it gets incredibly busy by lunchtime--and for good reason! Keep in mind they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. While you can order online, I'll always choose to go inside so I can browse everything they have to offer. Their selection of fresh pasta salads is fantastic, and the desserts are always tempting. Whether you're craving lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, a chicken Parmesan sandwich, or one of their many other Italian specialties, you really can't go wrong. Be sure to check out the wine section in the back left of the market. It's extensive and absolutely incredible! This is the kind of place that keeps people coming back year after year, and it's easy to see why. Being Italian American and growing up with an Italian mother who loved feeding everyone, this was one of our favorite places to visit together. Those memories make every trip here even more special. My personal favorite is the Godmother sandwich--hands down one of the best you'll ever have. It's packed with flavor, made with quality ingredients, and it's the sandwich I find myself craving every time I come back. One of the things I love most about this place is the atmosphere. It has an energy that immediately makes you think of family. Everyone is genuinely kind, welcoming, and happy to help, making you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. It has that warm, old-school Italian family vibe that's becoming harder and harder to find, and it's a big part of what makes this place so special.

Their mozzarella sandwich is a masterpiece with Fresh Ovoline Mozzarella, Avocado, Alfalfa Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion and a delicious Za'atar Spread. What makes it stand out as one of the best sandwiches in LA is the bread. They make their own focaccia several times a day and it is divine. Probably the only other place that can dare to match their creations is La Zucca at the Beverly Hills Cheese Store. Some of our other favorites is the tuna sandwich. Service is always on point and the sandwich travels well for consuming it at home. There isn't a ton of space to sit, but there is some counter style seating. Tip: Their menu is limited by choice. Check their Daily specials (Sandwich of the Day) for inspiration. They have 3 kids sandwiches (all are meat based). Tip: The biggest challenge is parking, sometimes metered parking is available. You do get a good amount of food for what you're paying for, but personally, I'd rather go to All'Antico Vinaio in Venice and get a sandwich that costs a little bit more, but you get more food and a better seasoning. It was VERY close! The bread is excellent and the cheese and meat are clearly selected with INCREDIBLE intention. The only problem is that the bread is huge and has a taste unto itself that is really good! Why a problem? Because the cheese was not sharp enough to penetrate the bread flavor and the meat was not deep enough to do the same. This was a (delicious) bread first sandwich. I like my sandwiches to be ingredient forward-facing. This is a me thing. You may absolutely adore this place. My friends got the tuna and I wish I had got that. So fresh and light. With the price, I didn't feel like asking for a "re-do," but I chose wrong haha I will try this place again and get something with less bread dominance. This is still 9.2/10 sandwich....I just happen to eat 30+ sandwiches at restaurants every year. The pasta? Super good! There were 4 of us so I stole some bites.
