I have been a fan of Razzoo's for years but tonight I had a very bad experience! First, we ordered two white wines (Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio), we got one Pinot Grigio and one Red - don't know which red. Then we ordered the entire meal (including appetizers) at once and my nieces chicken strips came out after I finished my meal!! The chicken strips were so small (they looked like those chicken fries advertised with one fast food restaurant). On top of that the service was really slow!! Anyone care to share a gator punch?!?! The thing that struck me so pleasantly was the service, and the lack of a wait. I had had a pretty dang good day, and didn't feel like cooking, plus I wanted the gator bowl, so that way I went. The young lady that waited on my companion and myself was so funny and patient, I appreciated that. You can't go wrong with the Jalapeno Catfish, the Cajun Tricky Fish, the fried pickles or the fried green beans. Even the food runner was funny, and he engaged in some really entertaining banter that we loved. This location likely doesn't get as much play as the others, but it is worth the trip out. The Food - our food was delicious we ordered the fried green beans (my fav) and my mom ordered the seafood gumbo , she scrape the plate with her bread at the end lol both plates were seasoned to perfection and serve hot cooked to order taste The Service - our waitress was the highlight of our evening, she was very attentive, kept our drinks full, made suggestions about how to customize the order, even gave me a sample of the honey hush-puppies. I guess it's a bit of a bad joke, but you know walking in what you're getting into. At first glance I was going to order raw oysters but the waitress didn't have confidence in there, so I switched to char-broiled, inedible. Took a bite and the questionable texture forced me to spit it out. They tough l and tasted of burnt oil, a sprinkle of Aldi Parmesan cheese and a random chive. Prepared with no love or intention. My time at this location was horrible. I always usually love Razzoos but this time is was different. First of all it took 20 minutes before someone came and greeted the table. Then, it took 25 minutes for our drinks to come out. We ordered our food and it took 30 minutes to come out. When I got my food, it was cold. I was pretty impressed with my visit To Razzoo's Cajun Cafe. When we first arrived we were greeted warmly by a very friendly hostess who immediately seated us even though it was a busy time on a Friday at lunch during Lent. She let us know our servers name who is Devon and that she would be with us right away. That was no lie because within about 30 seconds of the hostess walking away Devon came to the table and greeted us and took our drink order. For my lunch I chose the shrimp poor boy sandwich with french fries. The sandwich was on a very tasty toasted French bread. It was loaded with shrimp which was a nice surprise because often hidden under the vegetables there are just a few shrimp a lot of restaurants. Not so with Razzoo's Cajun Café this was packed full of them. I never liked tartar sauce on mine so I had them leave that off. I ordered a side of cocktail sauce instead. My sandwich was absolutely delicious. I would not normally give a restaurant like us five stars but the food is well deserving and the service that we received was amazing. Been some time since I'd been here. This is a chain and the food is pretty straight forward across the board. I was in the mood for some crawdads. Tis the season! March to June although that isn't set in stone. Boy oh boy I was not disappointed they were good and spicy too! My waiter let me taste one of each to see what I would like best. What a nice guy! My hands still feel the burn 12 hours later after multiple washings! Suggest you wear gloves. Either bring your own or ask for some. These puppies pack a good burn! I had a "funny" waiter, unfortunately, he was a little, well a lot on the flighty side. He never remembered my initial order of breaded dill pickles. I even asked for additional dipping sauce and he said I'll bring you extras. They never showed. It's forgivable. He continued to press me to buy 3-4 lbs of the crawfish. I went with 1 lb since I had ordered additional items. That was more then enough for me. I was dining alone. I ordered a SMALL catfish basket and that's what I get. I even asked the server since he was so flighty. He assured me several times it was correct in passing as he delivered drinks and food to other tables. Multiple times he told me he would refill my tea. Was comical cause he never remembered to refill, but the other servers noticed and did it for him. I was amused, so it never took away from my meal since he had multiple staff saving his butt! I don't think he was even aware of how flighty he was. Good team work when other staffers got your back. The food was excellent! When my bill came out he charged me for all kinds of stuff. What a goof! The manager had to correct all those additional add-ins to my check. Love Cajun food. It's a chain, so don't expect authentic Cajun/creole if you're from or had legit in LA. However, still delicious and full of flavor. We ordered take out, everything was accurate as ordered. I appreciate they don't use styrofoam and they even put the fried foods in paper boxes which kept them nice and crispy. The highlight of my visit was the bright lights that lit the exterior of your facility. Upon entering your establishment it was a quick downhill slide. The hostess was rude snd short with me. She didn't really try to sell me on staying for dinner. She said "it'll be about 30 minutes you wanna wait?" In reality she should've said How many this evening? Followed with can I get your name? Then closing with it'll be about 30 minutes or less. My party of three waited almost 30 minutes and we were seated. We ordered fried gator as an appetizer it was delivered to our table and before we could ask for hot sauce or condiments of any kind the food runner vanished. We each ordered A beer not because we only wanted one but because we were never offered another. We weren't even offered water with our meal. The stuffed shrimp arrived in a cold cast iron skillet and the crawfish in the fondue reminded me of rubber bands that had been boiled. Our server came to the table twice and a food runner brought everything out to us. The manager was in the dining room but did not engage with us. I had to approach him to address our issues. The service was "okay" that's it. The seafood fondue was pretty good, the charbroiled oysters were weird tasting and made me throw up. The jalapeño fish was TERRIBLE! They literally put gas station nacho cheese on flavor less catfish with bland ass white rice! They swapped it out for the stuffed fish which was pretty good. Hostess told us we should just leave and not bother waiting. I called to speak to a manager, and he stated he was sorry and that we shouldn't have been spiked to that way but, the policy is 15 names on the list and after that they don't take anymore. It took three calls to even get to the manager. I went online and booked an order to go and waited in the parking lot. Manager stated he sent rude hostess home for the night. Togo order didnt have condiments, napkins, or utensils. I eat at Razoos quite often and have never received this poor of quality. Smh! Get it together please. Highly do not recommend. I will always and forever get the blackened tilapia po boy from here. Anything blackened is great, but this on a po boy with some hush puppies and fries with Cajun seasoning, woo wee. That's a good time right there. & the app we always get is the boudin balls. They're always good and come with a great spicy sauce. I don't know what's in it exactly (the sauce) but it's good. Had great service the hostesses who helped me get the booth situated. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helped my friend and I figure out what was the best on the menu. My friend ordered the Strawberry coconut sunrise and really enjoyed it; it even came with a free bead necklace. We got the fried gator tail (both of our first times eating gator) and it was super yummy! Might use a different sauce next time, but it stands good on its own. Service here is the main problem, the food is going to be consistent across other Razzoo's you've been to, but the waitstaff and the hostesses are seriously lacking. I like Razzoo's and they have great lunch specials so the food is a big thumbs up for me! When we were there we had the pecan crusted catfish (delicious!) and the shrimp skillet dish which is also very very yummy. I really like most of the things on the menu, it's a great place to try alligator or crawfish if you never have before because they package it in a delicious way to make anyone's mind open to it. Only trouble was it took forever to be seated, the hostess kept disappearing, and when we finally got to our table our waiter seemed very very slow (mentally). He took our drink orders and then came back for our food orders without bringing our drinks, we send him for those and he drops them off and forgets to get our food orders. We call him back and he doesn't know the menu well enough to answer basic questions. When he does bring our food he forgets two things, and barely ever filled our glasses back up. By the end of the meal we were stopping OTHER waitstaff to try and get help so we could remotely make it back to work on time. Ugh. Decided to give Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth a shot. Found this place near the center; seemed a lot of people were enjoying their food. First impression outside - awesome. Get inside an the first experience by the hostess was really bad; the girl says how many - she then tells with a really bad attitude let's see what I can do. There were clearly tables outside to sit. Get seated down - our server Ashley comes to greet us. Better; order our food. Waited for a bit for the food then the person delivering the food puts the food down and leaves. Missing something basic - utensils. When I asked for them her reaction in a really bad way was to say - wait and Ill be back. Meanwhile food getting cold. The food really leaves much to be desired - the Cajun plate was not tasty at all. Two types of rice; one with shrimp the other with crab a piece of garlic bread and a piece of sausage and corn with black pepper. I had to add lots and lots of hot sauce to eat the rice. Taste was really non existent. Really for what I paid not worth going. It's nice and close by the center but between the bad attitude and food. Really disappointed - will not go again.
