    Breakfast Taco with 2 Ingredients
    Carrie M.

These were some fat breakfast tacos that were so tasty and a good price. I got one egg and potato taco and one egg and sausage taco. The salsa had a nice, mild taste, which I appreciated. Some of it was super watery though, so there was salsa water coming out of my taco, but I can look past that because the tacos were so good. They charge a 4% fee for using card, which I wish I had checked before so that I could have come prepared with cash. Thankfully, the breakfast tacos were well priced, and it was $6.65 total for two tacos with the fee. It seems like a small family-owned business, so the fee is understandable. They also have a sign about it on the door, which I was glad about. There was a weird moment when the server handed me my taco bag. I said thank you, and she gave me such a chilling look that I got scared. I'm going to hope that I totally misinterpreted that though. She was friendly initially. The food was bomb, and I didn't dine in, so I cannot comment on the full service experience. I really enjoyed the breakfast tacos here!

Tacos were huge and had a lot of protein which is appreciated. Wishes the oil had gotten drained a little more. Wished there was salsa offered for the tacos. The place was very tiny but the staff were friendly and quick to take care of us.

After we had ordered, the people came inside and sat down at the table next to us. They were three of them, and they all received their food prior to us receiving our food even though they came in well after us and ordered well after us. For the past six years whenever I ordered the gentleman special the taco always came out Before the food. I didn't even get my taco before the table next to us was served their food. My taco came out with my enchiladas. They were through eating and left at the same time. We finally got our food. The lady never offered to bring me anything to drink. She didn't give us any silverware before or after she put the food on the table. She never came back and checked on us, but she made sure to drop off the bill. She asked us to turn off the open sign for her and was more interested in cleaning the tables than she was tending to the customers. The service is starting to slide backwards to the old Recuerdos and people are going to stop coming again. You just had an advertisement on the city of round rock website talking about a family restaurant, but there was no more than four tables to tonight and it couldn't have been worse. The ladies that normally run the kitchen, were not back there, and it really shows on how poor the performance was.

This is a cute hole in the wall tucked between Rocky's Piano Bar and the Longbranch Saloon in downtown Round Rock. It's an intimate dining room with a welcoming family atmosphere. Our server was very attentive, and we never ran out of chips, salsa, or water. I ordered the cheese enchilada plate with refried beans, and everything was delicious. The chile con carne sauce took me back to my childhood, but with a little extra heat. So good! I have found my new favorite local restaurant!

Pretty solid Tex Mex. I could drink the salsa .... And the chips were so fresh...( which they threw in as a freebie) I got an enchilada and a burrito plate. Both were pretty good. I'm looking forward to the leftovers!! It's neither the best nor worst Tex Mex I've had. I'd say it's a solid 7 out of 10...

I asked for a side of guacamole and got a side of tomatoes. The grease!! WTF! Nothing good about this place. Hey Recuerdos do better.

Beef enchiladas. Definitely a must try

We order recuerdos for breakfast on weekends from time to time, usually through doordash as we did earlier today. Overall, I love the food at recuerdos... it's great to help with hangover recovery imo. Today we had a carne guisada burrito and an enchilada plate with 1 beef and 1 cheese with rice and beans. Both plates came with chips and salsa and the burrito came with queso too. I wouldn't say I love their queso (maybe too salty) but it does the job. The salsa is pretty good though. The enchilada plate is our usual go-to and is so good. Sometimes we'll get that and a breakfast taco each. The burrito was tasty but a bit small for the price compared to the enchiladas, I probably won't get it again.

Chips and Salsa plus Potato, Egg, and Bacon Taco

First time here. Outstanding chips and salsa!! The breakfast taco was potato, egg, and bacon and it was okay. It had too much potato on it. I did not finish it because I felt like all I was eating was potatoes. However I'm not ruling this place out I will be eating there again. I do recommend this business.

    Busy place..

Our server couldn't have been more friendly and outgoing. She was swamped (it was prom night with lots of formally clad students dining in) but never broke a sweat, never made us feel rushed or unattended and had a big smile from ear to ear throughout. I can't remember her name but I believe she is one of the owners daughters - and she's a real asset to the restaurant. My husband had a combination platter with all the favorites - enchiladas, taco, and a tamale, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I opted for something that was a little less---well, you know----but when in Rome---don't eat the spinach and mushrooms----get the tacos, savor the enchiladas. They know what they're doing and next visit I will lean into their expertise, enhanced by another Mexican martini. Buen provecho!

Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill is a great, casual spot in Round Rock to grab some Tex Mex classics…read more.. it isn't going to blow your mind but you can fill up on the complimentary chips and salsa, cheese enchiladas and quesadillas, and plenty of rice and beans. It's a little overpriced for what it is but it gets the job done. FAST FACTS: * Parking - lot out from of the building with plenty of spots * Happy Hour - couldn't find updated days and hours but they do have HH specials * Lunch specials from 11 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday SERVICE - We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Monday and they weren't busy at all (although it was Cinco de Mayo and they got busier as the night went on). We were seated right away and had complimentary chips and salsa brought to the table immediately (they're very mediocre). Our server, Fatima, made sure we had refills throughout the meal and the food came out quickly. PRICING - The total was $65.45 after tax ($4.99) but before tip for a Burros queso ($10.49), shredded chicken quesadilla ($14.99), Javier's plate ($17.49), and carne asada ($17.49). For basic Tex Mex, it seemed a little overpriced but the portion sizes are good. BURROS QUESO (6/10) - This is a basic chili con queso... it's topped with ground beef, guacamole, and pico but not much. I don't think I'd order this again because it isn't worth it for the price... I'd rather just order a small chili con queso. SHREDDED CHICKEN QUESADILLA (6/10) - It's a pretty standard chicken quesadilla served with shredded lettuce, pico, sour cream, and guacamole. You do get plenty of shredded chicken inside! This is great to split as an appetizer or get as an entree. I'd order this again. JAVIER'S PLATE (6/10) - It's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled skirt steak had a nice flavor but is kinda hard to cut up and eat. You get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I probably wouldn't order this again because I'd rather try other things. CARNE ASADA (6/10) - Again, it's a good portion size but nothing special. The grilled chicken breast is the same price as the diced skirt steak which doesn't quite make sense to me but you get a decent amount of sautéed onion, tomatoes, serano peppers, mushrooms, and zucchini. Again, you get rice, beans, and a small tortilla cup with lettuce, pico, and guacamole. I'd order this again if I want to get in some veggies with my meal. This was my first visit to Burros Tex Mex Bar and Grill and I probably won't rush to come back because there are other Tex Mex restaurants nearby that I prefer. It wasn't bad by any means, it just doesn't stand out (especially for the price). But, in a pinch, I'd stop by again if I was nearby and in the mood for Tex Mex.

I had never heard anything about this place before , however, the outside of the restaurant doesn't look like anything special but the moment you walk inside, it looks like someplace where people would go when they're on vacation. It's bright and cheerful and lots of photographs and decor. Someone took some heavy thought and a lot of time to decorating this place. I absolutely love it. It's clearly a nice festive place to be. They have a very inviting bar, which looks very friendly and fun. They have many tables and some booths. They also have outside seating. They sell their own Chuy shirts, and if you wear your Chuy shirt into the restaurant, you get a discount on another shirt! When we went to lunch at 1:30 on Wednesday, it was not busy. They did have some business, however. We were greeted promptly and kindly and seated in a booth. It wasn't too long before chips came with two types of salsa; one looked like pico de gallo and the other one looked like a jalapeño cream dip. I would've loved to have tasted that, but it goes against my dietary restrictions, but I can tell you that pico de gallo was great! And the chips were nice and crispy. We were provided with place settings that each were in their own individual envelope sealed with a little sticker and labeled "sanitized"; I liked that. I ordered shredded chicken crispy tacos with rice and beans and my husband ordered shrimp tacos and a margarita. My tacos were great. I really loved the tortilla. They obviously take a corn tortilla, shaped it themselves and cook it before they fill it and the extra care could definitely be tasted. The rice and beans were good, But I really liked the tacos best. My husband said his shrimp tacos were good too. The prices were quite reasonable. My taco plate was $12. I'm really glad I visited this restaurant today and I will definitely be back to try out more of the menu! I highly recommend you visit it.

Something that was very different about this menudo was that is was entirely meat and broth/juice there was 0 sign of hominey which is something I've never seen before. I love for my menudo to have lots of meat and some hominey but the fact that there was absolutely no hominey made me unsatisfied. I give the menudo overall a 3.5/10 I probably won't get that again here. The flautas were a 10/10 they were perfectly crispy all around, the meat was seasoned and the flautas definitely had a great portion of meat. The chicken flautas came smothere in cream and queso fresco as well as lettuce and tomato which all tasted fresh and went really well with those. The red and green salsa were really good and flavorful. The red one was much spicier than the green both complimented the flautas. Fruit cup was good and made fresh to order. The carne asada burrito with potato's and cheese was HUGE, very flavorful, a hint of spice and had lots of meat! 9.5/10 highly recommended only thing that could've brought it to a ten would be if the potatoes had some sort of crispiness to them, they were super soft and I prefer a crust-like outer layer on my potatoes. Beans were good, love that they put cheese in them just like my family does. The rice was good, I did add a little salt to it but overall good. While food is at least authentic and not Texican? It is alas also authentically weak. Even the tacos were mushy microwave reheats. Salsa was terrible. Chips out of low cost bag. The staff were very nice. But the DoorDash vibe added the usual chaotic divide between diners & dashers. Restroom reeked into part of dining room but moving across the ample sized seating area took care of that.

I wanted to try the arepita appetizer which is normally served with shredded beef/pork or chicken on the side- to get a side of plantains instead of meat, it was going to add 3$ to the 14$ appetizer so I just opted to omit the meat all together and still had to pay the $14 ...which I don't feel is appropriate- people always wanna add money to sub a veggie for meat but never reduce the price when just removing the meat all together.
