I ordered the country fried steak, eggs and country potatoes, it also came with pancakes which I asked for blueberry. Everything was delicious, the steak was very tender. Eggs were cooked to perfection. Potatoes were also cooked very well. Blueberry pancakes were pretty good, had nice chunks of blueberries in it. My friend ordered corn beef hash with country potatoes, this is also another good choice. My other friend got the ultimate burger with potato salad, I didn't try the burger but he said it was good. The potato salad was ok to me but my friends liked it, it has dill in it which I didn't really care for. Inside is a small cafe but it does have plenty of seating. They also offer seating in an outdoor area that's kind of blocked off, I didn't really get to see it since we sat inside. Not sure if we ate kind of fast but the waitress didn't realize we were done and it did take some time for her to come ask if we needed to go boxes and the tab. Although it did start to get busy as we were leaving so that could've been it too. Other than that she was pretty attentive. First timer here! We got seated right away, our waitress immediately sat us down and asked what we wanted for our drinks. Plenty of drink options by the way. I asked for water and a little time to just go over the menu. I ended up trying out their Carmel latte which surprisingly was actually good. After we got our drinks she asked if we were ready to order, when I say they're fast they are fast because we didn't get the chance to check out the whole menu yet. I ordered the corn beef hash with country potatoes and I ended onions and bell peppers, over medium eggs, side of white toast and wanted a side of their country gravy. We pulled in and got on the wait list right away. Our party was seated about 20 minutes later. The parking lot is small and packed. We had to park farther away and walk back. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly and checked in often. For as busy as they were, our food came out quickly and it was really good. The portion size is huge so you won't leave hungry. I had the meat scramble with a side of hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were perfect and the hollandaise sauce was really good, one of the better ones I have tried lately. I enjoyed the scramble even without cheese. I ordered a specialty plate with the ham steak (comes with 2 eggs, potatoes, and 2 pancakes or toast) and my boyfriend ordered a California omelette (came with toast and potatoes). I remember when this cafe opened up years back. When I first visited back then I knew it was going to be a success. All of my experiences here have been awesome. They are very busy on the weekends so you want to make sure you call ahead. There is a small lot for parking but it's all close to the entrance. I love the American diner decor. This is an all around great breakfast place. I love to get the country fried steak and of course the biscuits and gravy. The pancakes are fluffy and the coffee is always hot. The people are so nice here and really make you feel at home. There is inside and outside seating if you have a preference. I love to sit outside and get the fresh air. Came here on a Sunday morning! We made sure to call ahead of time to get an estimate wait time, they told us 15 minutes but when we got there it jumped to 30 minutes. The wait wasn't too bad, they stated outside of the restaurant that dining is limited to 90 minutes and a party of 10 or more aren't accommodated due to the space/COVID. My boyfriend and I got seated and we were quickly assisted by our waitress. They offer a HUGE variety of breakfast meals, I wanted to try something new and went for the chili verde burrito. It was pretty good, wish it had more flavor since I had to drown it in cholula sauce (i think i spelt it right LOL) The potatoes though are FIRE! They are so good and I highly recommend it! We visited here on the recommendation of a friend. The Cafe itself is unremarkable at first sight, but the packed parking lot gives you a hint as to what's coming. We had a friendly greeting from staff, and after a very short wait we were seated. We chose to sit on the patio, which was very pleasant. Our server was both very busy, AND very attentive. The menu focuses on breakfast type fare, and offers a good selection (we were sad that there were no crepes, but one can't have everything!). We opted for spicy sausage eggs Benedict and a plate of pancakes and eggs. We HIGHLY recommend any one of the eggs Benedict choices: the eggs are perfectly prepared and properly done,,and the home fried potatoes were awesome. On the other dish, the pancakes were light and fluffy, and the fried egg prepared well also. We had a couple of pomegranate mimosas which we enjoyed immensely. So, I'd heard great things about this breakfast place. Pros: I was given a choice of medium or dark roast coffee. I love a good dark roast. I was able to get a veggie egg white omelet. Cons: The dark roast coffee was pretty weak. Although my omelet was good, half the plate was filled with fried, greasy potatoes. I don't eat potatoes much less greasy ones. Comfort food for some people but not for me. I was offered a choice of toast, pancakes or biscuits but I couldn't get fresh fruit. So, I picked toast (that I didn't eat). Most of this meal was wasted on me. Service was ok. They were very busy so I wasn't surprised that the waitress didn't come around much. I thought the long wait time was due to the food being so good but I think it had more to do with that there aren't very many tables. Brought some out of town guests and breakfast lovers here on Memorial Day. We came here with family when we first moved to Fresno in 2017 and had been unable to make it back since, so we were excited to revisit the place that welcomed us to Fresno. The waitlist moved surprisingly quickly and we were seated before our estimated wait was up - always a bonus! The only downside to this visit was that we ordered our daughters food immediately upon being seated, but it wasn't served until *after* our own food came out. Needless to say, we were left managing a grumpy toddler for longer than we anticipated. The rest of the meal was great - my wife and I split the turkey and avocado benedict and I really enjoyed the layers of texture; the striations of the meat along with a both creamy and chunky avocado and the moisture of the yolk. The waitress was knowledgeable about the meal and was friendly. I ordered the country fried chicken sandwich with a side of their homemade potato salad and it was rich and delicious! Just what I needed after being out in the wilderness. My husband got the breakfast hash with a side of pancakes.....we never got our pancakes. We understand that they were busy but we have flagged down our waitresses twice and were told that we'd get or pancakes in 15 min. Then nothing. So she offered to box it for us so we could get it to go. After paying for the check. We just left. No pancake, no word from our waitress. We were over it and needed to get back on the road. So the last time I came, I tried the chilequiles- huge mistake. They were not tasty, looked a mess, and were overpowered by the cheese on top which got hard fast and made everything stick together. We love this little place. Parking is small and a little difficult to get a spot and the wait time can sometimes get lengthy but the food and service are totally worth it! Their potato dishes are mine and my boyfriends favorite but my little sister really enjoyed the pancakes! Coffee is great with that classic diner taste. The alcoholic drinks aren't for me though.
