Large portions, reasonably priced and super friendly workers. Small inside but has a couple tables outside as well. Hidden gem

2 meats 2 sides combo: pork ribs & pulled pork w/ corn bread & crazy corn
Jeanne L.

red bee bbq seems to have a lot of regulars, and i can see why. the service is so friendly and fast, and it's a great price for bbq! there's not much seating indoors or outdoors, but it seems like most people take their food to-go. my boyfriend ordered a lunch special, which comes with a meat and two sides, with smoked beef brisket, mac & cheese, and fried rice. i ordered a 2 meats and 2 sides combo, with pork ribs, pulled pork, corn bread, and crazy corn. - smoked beef brisket (2/5): this was a chopped brisket, and most of the pieces were very small and soft. some of the bigger pieces were a little chewy, and the brisket didn't taste fresh. it was more like a pot roast or braised beef than brisket. it was marinated in a sweet bbq sauce, which i would've preferred less sweet, and i thought there was too much of it. it was a good and filling serving though - pulled pork (3.5/5): better than the brisket! but it also didn't taste very fresh. it was juicy and tender and marinated in a more smoky and salty bbq sauce, which i liked better - pork ribs (3.5/5): not fall-off-the-bone like ribs should be but more tender than i expected! the flavor was somewhat in between the pulled pork and beef brisket, with a sweet bbq sauce on top of a peppery and savory rub. i did think it needed more sauce, so i asked for an extra cup of bbq sauce on the side. the ribs were pretty big and meaty! - mac & cheese (3/5): honestly just an okay mac & cheese. it wasn't really that flavorful or cheesy, and it probably could've used a little more salt. the consistency was a little runny - fried rice (2.5/5): like fried rice you would get from panda express. it wasn't bad - just a little flavorless and an option if you wanted to eat your meat over rice. i thought it was nice to mute the strong flavor of the brisket a bit. i did like how moist it was - corn bread (4/5): one of the best items on the plate! i liked the sweetness and flavor from the cornmeal, although it was a little too sweet for my preference. it was also a little dry, like a dense cake. it would've been great warm - crazy corn (4/5): a very classic elote! the amount of mayo and chili on the corn was perfect. my only complaint was that the corn wasn't the freshest, and it didn't come out very hot red bee bbq is definitely not a traditional bbq restaurant - it's an asian-owned fast food bbq joint, and the food reflects that. it doesn't come close to the best bbq we've ever had, but it's extremely affordable and the portion sizes are great. and besides, the staff is so kind! i generally like beef brisket over any other bbq meat, but i would definitely recommend the pulled pork over brisket here. just don't come with any expectations, and the food will satisfy.

The line was fairly short and we moved along very quickly. The workers were very nice and friendly. They were also generous with the portions. The food tasted very good and fresh and I also got a fresh cut of the beef meat. Overall, all the food was very good and I would recommend this place for my friends. The price was cheap and also had a couple spots for seating.

This is definitely my spot for barbecue when coming to santa rosa. They have great meat options and the food is good. I get the 3 meat plate every time and always have leftovers. I always get the salad also made the way I want it. Can't go wrong with this place

Beef brisket (fatty yuk) and coleslaw.
Linda W.

I made the mistake of ordering beef brisket - I should have looked more closely. It was very fatty and swimming in oil basically inedible. So disappointed. The pork loin was in tray closest to register and it looked good - should have ordered that. The sides were fine: coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread. Person at counter was nice too. I'll try again and look more closely next time. I can't imagine anyone wants to eat brisket prepared like this. For now I need to find something else to eat for dinner.

I've been to both Red Bee BBQ locations and have tried several different menu items--and every single time, the food has been absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, the prices are very fair, and the quality is consistently top-notch. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything they serve. Beyond the food, the staff and owners truly stand out. They're incredibly polite, welcoming, and genuinely care about their customers. That kind of service makes all the difference and keeps me coming back. If you haven't tried Red Bee BBQ yet, you're missing out. Highly recommend! I came here to try their breakfast sandwich, which definitely did not disappoint. I also took home a couple of desserts for later! The service here is really great! The person who helped us when we arrived gave us some great suggestions! I really like the seating here and it feels nice and spacious. The art on the walls adds a nice touch as well! The breakfast sandwich has fried eggs and white cheddar cheese on an English Muffin. First I love the way they fry the eggs. Crispy, but still with a runny yoke. The cheese is melted nicely into this really yummy English muffin that was toasted really nicely. I also added bacon and avocado, which was a delicious touch. It's a very rich, fatty sandwich, so I asked for some hot sauce plus it's served with a side of pickles which helps to cut the richness as well. I took a few desserts home to try later, and I'm glad I did! The gluten free carrot cake is excellent. Very buttery and the texture is amazing. Not very sweet, but that may be what some people like. The gluten free lemon cheesecake had a great flavor and is dense like a NY style cheesecake. Again, also not very sweet, but delicious nonetheless. The Flan was a 10/10 in flavor and sweetness, but a 6/10 in texture. A little too dense for my liking. Overall, I love this place and will be back soon!

Zoftig has expanded into full-blown Choose Your Own Adventure territory: Build Your Own salads, sandwiches, wraps, and bowls, plus a gluten-free dessert lineup that practically begs you to pretend you're being healthy right up until the very end. I went with the Thai yellow curry over brown rice with chicken, which was the kind of meal that makes you feel like a responsible adult who has their life together. It was delicious! My dining companion's Ahi Poke bowl was equally impressive, and the roasted sweet potato salad was so good it briefly made me question my life choices up to that point. The chicken -- whether in a salad or a bowl -- was tender, flavorful, and absolutely not what I expected from a place with this many kale options. A word to the wise: show up at noon and you will be humbled. This spot is enormously popular with locals and the lunch-break crowd, and the line will remind you that good food attracts a crowd whether you like it or not. Fortunately, the staff is genuinely warm, happy to make recommendations, and will answer your menu questions without making you feel like you're holding up the line -- even when you absolutely are. Needless to say, it won't be another few years before I'm back. Zoftig has officially earned a permanent spot in the rotation.

It's inviting vs the stuffy atmosphere some places have. BABAGANOUSH PITA we got it for the kiddo expecting it to be run of the mill stuff you get. But the babaganoush had the extreme rich flavors of smoked eggplant and felt like almost half an eggplant went in there. Not diluted with tahini, garlic, just pure flavors of eggplant with tanginess of sumac. LITTLE GEM SALAD WITH RAINBOW TROUT was hearty, leafy and very refreshing. The pickled celery was the surprise. HAMACHI CRUDO - beautifully assembled with thoughtfulness, light, refreshing. A bunch of flavor bombs in there so each bite is an adventure. Basil making it refreshing, earthy crunch from hazelnut, sharpness from green onion, sweet tart kiwis. I think a bit of citrus would make this a superstar. Mandolin shaved limes perhaps? GRILLED MAITAKE MUSHROOMS - ok I think this was the chefs most technically impressive dish, with an exercise in playing with bitter profiles and turning it into a master piece. Grilled maitake gets the char from the grill is the first flavor layer, it's woken up by the wild thyme from the zatar. Next the Japanese turnips bring the second dimension with earthy beautiful bitter notes on a bed of a creamy tahini based sauce. It's finished with fresh parsley to bring a fresh element to it. Great stuff. Could raddichio be added to make this more challenging? I saw those crunchy POTATOES and I got them even after eating the meal lol. Do yourself a favor and just get them - they're hot, crunchy and perfect to pair with the vegetables. Finally we got their chocolate mousse with bruleéd bananas sorry couldn't take a picture before it was all gone. Great way to wrap. The staff were all super friendly and helped with picking things from the menu! I got the mystery glass of wine and they had made a fun game out of it. The Beaujolais was great too. Overall when you're surrounded by these amazing farms, vineyards and ocean - no better way than to bring them together - kudos to the creators of the Redwood for making this place with intentionality. I wanted to get the squash, duck pâté, spring pea salad, tinned fish items as well, I guess for next time!

Got the focaccia bread and for entrees I got bolognese and my wife got the pesto spaghetti with the GF rummo noodles. The bread was tasty and a big portion! My wife enjoyed her pesto spaghetti and I enjoyed my bolognese, however, the bolognese was very spicy. I didn't see any mention of chili flakes on the menu and I never send food back unless it's undercooked or the wrong meal. I ate it but boy it was spicy! A quick look at some other reviews showed me others have complained about the spicy bolognese. Bolognese is not normally spicy so it's definitely a bold choice of this restaurant to throw those in without warning. So, BE AWARE of that!! I'm still giving 5 stars because our server was super friendly, the restaurant was clean, comfy, and great location. And our food was tasty! We started with a Cappelletti Spritz (basically an Aperol spritz but not Aperol, and I kind of liked it better), some olives, meatballs, and the burrata toast. All were delicious! For our mains, we had the Bolognese (one with burrata and one without) and the spaghetti with Sunday Red. They made it a point to mention several times that the Bolognese had nutmeg in the sauce (NOT cinnamon as someone else posted. That would be very different.) and made sure it was okay with us. When the Bolognese came out, we discovered that they had red pepper flakes on them. My son doesn't like spicy, so we had them make another one without (took only a few minutes and we brought the other one home). It was delicious and you can definitely taste the nutmeg. We're happy we have another order! Everything was amazing. The portions were plenty. We didn't even have room for dessert and I kind of wanted that olive oil cake! Can't wait to come back.
