I have been going to Red Carpet for years with my mom and sister and they always have given us great service. They have completely updated their salon with new pedicure chairs and even have new, small child sized chairs for the kids! They offer everything from nails to hair to massages and everything they offer is top quality. They have some very good waxers too because I've gone in there and had different people do my eyebrows but they always come out perfect. Their shellac options are also wonderful because they have so many colors to choose from and I love not having to worry about chipping my nails right after I get them done. Overall I would say that this is a great business under good management and I would recommend them any day! read more

I've read all the negative reviews and have to say I have always been treated well at this salon, have always been happy with my pedicures and will continue to go there. The $18.00 pedicure is great with the hot stones. I have paid more in other places and had really crappy jobs. Here's the thing...if you go into this salon thinking you're a primadonna and the nail girls are beneath you because they are servicing you...you are in for a rude awakening! Here's what I witnessed today and LOVED it. This woman comes in with no appointment and a NASTY attitude wanting a fill. I found her to be obnoxious from the minute she entered the salon. She was told to sit down and wait. At least five girls were sitting around not doing clients, so it wasn't a busy day in the salon. After about fifteen minutes of waiting, this woman asked very rudely how much longer it would take. She was told about another 10-15 minutes... or she could go somewhere else. She got up and left in a huff...good ridance and genius on the part of the salon owner. After she left, the owner said she had been in there before, was rude, complained and wanted her money back. So I'm wondering why would she go back if she was so unhappy with the job they did previously???....unless of course, she is routinely banned from nail salons because of her attitude and has nowhere else to go? Try treating people with a little respect and kindness and watch what happens. I don't know... maybe you'll be treated that way in return AND get a great pedicure???? read more

Lisa is wonderful! I have been getting my nails done for years by Lisa (previously at Beauty Nails in Capitola) and she is the best. I get gel nails, full sets, pedicures, eyebrow waxing, etc....Red Carpet Salon is clean, friendly and has very reasonable prices- I have no problem tipping in cash, I think that it works out better for the employees... I try to call ahead to make sure she has the time available for an appointment, but even if I don't she always greets me and can get me in. Another plus is that Lisa is very skilled, but quick- I am never waiting or sitting for very long. They also have a great selection of colors and new gel techniques that are fun to choose from. There are also cute chairs for kids to get pedicures in. I would highly recommend this nail salon and I definitely recommend Lisa! read more

I've had really great pedicures and gel manicures here, and they have competitive prices. But today I went in and they were really busy (on a Wednesday at 1:30...go figure) so my nails felt really rushed! They didn't turn out very good at all, so I actually came home and re-did them myself. Bummed that I paid $50 for that! I'll probably go again, but I'll just try to make sure it's during a less busy time. read more

I walked in with a picture of some fairly complicated nail art that I found on Pinterest, and at first the two people who greeted me seemed reluctant, but they matched me up with Danny who did a FANTASTIC job. I always get gel manis and pedis now (I'm a complete convert), so he even took the tiny line drawing brushes out of regular polish, cleaned them, and did the details in gel too! He took her time and was extremely careful and they came out looking exactly like the picture I brought in. I also got a pedicure, and though I didn't get the name of the technician who did my feet, she did a great job as well! I have awful dry skin on my heels and around the balls of my feet from wearing high heels and sandals all the time, and most places I've gone for pedicures just sort of scrub them halfheartedly with a pumice and give up, but the woman actually put lotion all over my feet and wrapped them in saran wrap while she worked on my toes so that they had a chance to soften, then scrubbed them really thoroughly and I actually left with soft feet for once! Also, my right big toe kept getting smudged going under the curing light, so she took the polish off and reapplied it twice to make sure it was perfect, which I really appreciated. It ended up being a little pricey because I got the nail art, so my total was $55. However, I told them going in that I didn't mind paying extra and I believe they said it was $15 for the nail art. I believe they do take walk-ins, but I called as soon as they opened and set up an appointment for an hour later. I'm glad that I did, because by 11:30 every chair was full up! Even they were busy, they still took their time to do good job. They have a bright, happy, clean facility, everyone is very friendly, and the complimentary beverages are a definite plus! I will definitely be coming back to them, and specifically to Danny for my detailed nail art needs! One more thing I would like to say they are very clean. They clean the tubs after each customer use in front of you and I saw the manager came to check to make sure the tubs are clean. read more

Meh. I felt rushed choosing a color, the guy was breathing down my neck, and taking bottles out of my hands. He rushed, the color clumped, and he was too liberal with the gel- it basically glued my nails to the flesh of my finger. I probably won't go here again if another salon is open. The color is pretty cool, I'll give him that. But the experience wasn't great. read more

I've been going to Danny at Red Carpet Salon for years. The salon is clean, roomy and comfortable. He is professional and on time. I'm really into the Shellac manicures right now and they have a lot of colors to choose from and my nails always look great! I usually get a pedicure in additon to my nails. Just moved here from Long Beach to attend the University in Santa Cruz. Rarely do I write a review unless it's something above and beyond the expectation, or something extremely disappointing. Happened to see Red Carpet Salon while eating at the Subway and decided to get a haircut. I don't get my hair cut very often at the salon because they never seem to do a good job; and I find myself re-cutting my hair when I get home. Red Carpet Salon wasn't the exception, and I did have to recut my hair when I got home. Maybe it's just me. But I experienced something different here, something I never came across before at a hair salon, and I had to write about it. Character says a lot about a person and the people here are good people. When I went to pay for my haircut and gave a tip, the person behind the counter said "You keep it, I insist." Now have you ever heard a worker not take a tip...anywhere! Hell, I've never turned down a tip before when i was a bus boy at a restaurant. The person behind the counter introduced himself as Danny, owner of the salon. He had over heard my conversation with the barber, and when he found out I was a college student, he felt it was better that I keep the tip for books or living expenses. A+ character in my book. Would definitely recommend this place to students. The people are friendly and greet you with smiling faces when you walk in. They shave your facial hair, and even trim your eyebrows and the price is much more affordable than other places. read more

She was SO detailed, took her time, made sure my nails were 100% perfect. I cannot even describe how good of a job she does. Will never go to anyone else! This salon is nasty. A friend and I went here a few days before christmas for an impromptu girls day. Our usual place in Aptos was booked so we went to the Red Carpet. I have been here before and it was average then, but we were in a bind. It was very dirty, the staff was borderline rude and the pillow they used for my arms smelled like cat piss. Then I noticed two of the women working there had horrible sores on their mouths that looked like impetigo, a very contagious staph infection. Today, on Christmas morning, my friend informed me that she has a nasty staph infection on her finger originating from her cuticle! She had to go get antibiotics. I called the health department a few days ago and will be calling the Cosmetology board in the morning. BEWARE! read more

For me this place is friendly, they give a long massage plus a neck and shoulder. The pedicure was done very well, it was amazing, I guess i got there in a good time. My nails were not the same length. Some were way shorter than the others. It also took like about 2 hours which is crazy. They charged me an extra $5 for a different nail shape. & also they only lasted 2 weeks & they were cracking in the middle & a day later 4 had broken & 1 had broke my natural nail.
