What a good place for good Italian food! This place has a good environment with tvs playing sports and a bar to enjoy drinks with a nice outside patio. The service is also really good too I was checking out some of the pizza's on the tables and I really needed to give it a shot. Went with the all time classic standard pizza and salad for dinner. The pizza wasn't on the thick side but just a nice mid range of thickness that you can enjoy a slice or two to fill up. The amount of cheese was great and had a nice cheese pull. The toppings were good and fresh tasting. The chicken apple salad was nice and light with a good amount of chicken with a good balsamic dressing to keep it light. Really enjoyed that salad! All around, red devil is a great place to enjoy some good food with a good environment. Check this place out! read more

This is the spot for some good pizza or pasta. They have a big selection of different dishes you were able to order. They also have salads and sandwiches on the menu which creates options for everyone in your party. They do not take reservations but you can walk in and put your name in and usually on a Friday or Saturday night it is pretty busy. I recommend getting takeout if you're looking for a quicker option to eat sooner. The bar is first come first serve so if you do have a smaller party you can always just sit there if there are seats available as well. We do love coming here for dinner anytime we are in Pinetop and recommend this place as well! read more

Food choices, many. Probably the best tasting Italian sausage I've ever tasted! Didn't get pizza, but what both my wife and I ordered was delicious, had to take back to the hotel. You won't go hungry that's for sure. They were pretty busy, service was attentive and we didn't feel rushed to get out of there. Kudos to staff and mgmt! Ambience was welcoming, comfortable, perfect. When I walked in, I was excited because it smelled so goood and it was packed with a line to be seated. There was also a line for pick ups. We got chicken wings, Pizza, salad, Calamari and meatball sub. All was fantastic and delicious. I'm a huge Pizza lover and this Pizza was to die for. Perfect ratios of cheese and toppings and my gawd.. the crust was perfection! Soft with a crunch. It was so good. We were in town over the weekend and the little one was craving pizza, this place was one of the TWO options that were open, so we decided to come here. We were greeted by a guy at the host stand, told him it was a table for three, one being a child. He doesn't grab a child's menu and crayons. We get to our table, look over the menu, our server comes over minutes later "What do you want to drink"... UMM HI? What a great greeting! No smile or anything. She comes back with our drinks, I asked her if my son can get a child's menu so we can order from there, she says yes. Then walks off to greet her big top, and make small talk with them. By the time she came back to grab our order we decided to just order off the adult menu for our son. We got two pizzas, fried zucchini (they were out of calamari) wings with two different sauces, and a Large Caesar Salad. Fried Zucchini came out first, expo guy was pretty nice, they were good for what they were. Wings came out second, they were delicious, but hard to mess up on wings, only problem was only one of the sauces we ordered had come out. But expo guy was nice eniugh to go grab a second type of sauce for us. My salad comes out, it was lackluster, even for a Caesar salad, alot of wilted romaine was at the bottom, hardly any dressing, it just wasn't a normal salad we are use to I suppose. Pizzas were good and crisp bottom, can't complain. Service on the other hand was almost non existent, oh by the way the male host ended up bringing the child menu half way into finishing our food Also, I don't know how I feel about hygiene here, I watched a female hostess pick her ears with her long fake nails, then scratched her nose, then retire her hair, not once did she wash her hands. Oh and she picked whatever was under hair nails out with her other nail... Yum. I know for a fact if health inspector was there they'd get a few marks for that, I have worked in the restaurant industry my whole life, just saying. 3.5/5 stars We haven't made it to the Italian dinners because they are both in Pinetop. I checked Yelp and it was somewhat of a toss up so we went to the closest first. Red Devil has a good sized parking lot and it was pretty full but luckily a car pulled out giving us a spot. Good sign. The entrance is on the side through a metal gate. There is a patio for dining al fresco. We were greeted as we entered the door, shown to a table and given menus. The menu wasn't very large but we decided on chicken Marsala and chicken piccata, both with pasta. They brought focaccia rolls with butter which was tasty. I asked for balsamic vinegar and olive oil which didn't work since the vinegar was harsh. It took quite a while for the food to come out. I suggest an appetizer so you have something while you wait. The chicken Marsala had a strong and not pleasant Marsala flavor instead of the smooth, beautiful flavor of the Marsala wine. It was a shame but the mushrooms had absorbed so much of that flavor that they were inedible. The chicken piccata was good even though the lemon was stronger than I was used to. I think it was on long enough to break down the chicken making the thin parts a bit too soft. It had a good amount of capers which was good. The capellini was cooked nicely. Prices were decent. Service was very good. Aunika was friendly, attentive and always had a smile. Service and prices gave the extra half star. Luckily, I waited to write this until after we had the chicken piccata leftovers. I think it was better the next day. I think we will try the second Italian restaurant in Pinetop but wouldn't mind coming back to Red Devil to try something else. read more

Visiting from Phoenix we thought we'd try an old favorite pizza place in its satellite location. The pizza was exactly like the original pizzas served at Red Devil on McDowell Rd. Phoenix in the 1960s. Delicious, with just the right amount of crispy bubbles in the crust. Very pleased. Service was excellent. We enjoyed the family atmosphere. read more

We ordered 10 wings, 9 were brought to the table. We mentioned it to the server and she later brought 4 wings, which seemed generous. When we got home and I was looking at our bill again, I noticed we were charged a "supplmt fee". I gather that was for the 4 wings we didn't order that she brought to our table to make up for the 1 missing wing. I have never experienced anything like this as a service recovery. The minestrone soup, I think this was probably pizza sauce and not soup at all. At least that is what it tasted and looked like, thick pizza sauce with some vegetable soup things added. I always try to make my way to Red Devil when in Pinetop. Personally, I think this is the better of the locations in the valley of AZ. Pictures are both the lunch specials and it was THEE perfect amount. My boyfriend and I split the two dishes and it was great. We arrived about 2:30pm just before the dinner rush. Is the food good? Sure. But when it takes over an hour to get your food? Not worth it. Service was absolutely atrocious. We ordered at 5:30 and did not get our food until 6:45. Our waitress hardly ever checked on us, so finally when she did and we expressed our concern for how long we'd been waiting, she went back to make sure they hadn't "lost our ticket." Oh great! It would have been awesome if our waitress would have actually thought to check on our food sooner, and wonder why we hadn't gotten our food yet? When she finally came back (which took long again) she said they'd had a "mixup" with the ticket and our pizza was just going in the oven. Mind you, we had watched people come in long after us and get served their pizza while we continued to wait. This is hands down the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant. And what did they do to make it "right"? All they did was take the price of the pizza off the bill, even though everyone else in our party that didn't order pizza had been made to wait just as long! Ridiculous! Next time I guess I will go out and wait under the "shadded" tree as the sign on their front door advises. read more

Service was disappointing as my party of four got there at 5:40 and got our food at 6:45. It was a long wait for mediocre food. I got the devils trio and salt couldn't save it. Additionally they forgot about our appetizers and when they came it was not good as well. If you are on the white mountain I recommend skipping out on this place and going across the street to a more professional restaurant. read more

The pizza and calzone I ordered (to go) were ready when I got there. The inside of the restaurant was hopping -- you'd think the pandemic was over, and it was crowded -- eating indoors there is not a risk I'd want to take, but that's up to each customer. What makes for this poor review is the food quality. The calzone ingredients didn't fit together - the ricotta cheese really didn't work - and the interior was watery - ugh. The dough was sort of bread-like ... thick, chewy, not great (look at the pictures others have posted). But what was worse was the seasoning on the outside -- it was over the top with a mish-mosh of herbs and spices. The combination didn't work, and there was way too much of it. I like spicy food, but this just didn't taste good. The Mediterranean pizza wasn't much better - same absurd herbs on it, same poor pizza dough quality. At least it wasn't watery (having no interior). We were hoping for good pizza. What we got was edible, but certainly wasn't enjoyable. Obviously, some people like their pizza (it's a popular place), but we weren't among them. read more

Ugh hate writing negative for such a beloved location but here goes. We are year round residents in Show Low and visit many locations for our pizza and recently for Italian a new location in Pinetop (Cafe Pinole which we love) But we settled on Red Devil as my son was craving the Hawaiian special 14 inch pizza. I come for the Portobello mushroom ravioli or any one of the Calzones they serve. We entered the establishment at 4 pm for dinner and were greeted by a cheerful hostess. We were seated immediately ( just opened at 4 for dinner that Monday) water and sodas brought to the table along with bread and butter. The server then approached several minutes later and announced that they were not serving Portobello mushroom ravioli or any of the Calzones ..... wait what?! Next too pizza this is they do best.... Well at least in my years of experiencing visiting not just this location but the one in Phoenix as well. Ok was NOT happy they waited until we were seated and eating bread and consuming drinks. We could have been notified prior to being taken to the table by the hostess. There are other options for pizza and Italian so I guess they didn't want to lose our business. I hesitated and verbally shared my gentle concern but my son was ready to eat so I opted for fish and chips. I know .... but nothing else called to me ( I'm Italian and an excellent cook so I just find myself ordering what I can not master at home. Maybe you can relate). The fish and chips and Hawaiian pizza came out in about 20 min as was hot and looked satisfying. My son said the pizza was epic ....... My fish and chips not so. I didn't expect it to be epic just food because hunger was the driving force to be their after we were " trapped" at the table as I mentioned. What happened next was just in my opinion poor service and that happens today and plus it was fish and chips in an Italian family Restuarant so you get what you order. My coleslaw which comes with the meal was in a little plastic throwaway cup with a lid on it along with tartar sauce also in the same cup with a lid on it. Both have been taken out of refrigeration and felt chilled and placed on the hot plate with fish and fries. Coleslaw had a slight yellow tinge to it and taste off. I tried a second bite and I could tell that the mayonnaise or some other ingredient might be outdated. I had the server come back to the table and I explained to him and asked if I could get another replacement coleslaw. It was a very very small serving and shouldn't have probably been such an issue but it was. He took my plastic cup and put it to his nose then commented " that's the way it should be". I politely chucked and again for another one since it tasted off. He said "I'm not sure I can do that, I'm not sure we have any more in the back. I immediately commented "really?" .... "Oh ok" and he replaced it back on my plate!" I then said " please can you inquire?" He picked I back up and left after taking the little lid off my plate and placing in on the slaw. Again touching my plate.... "Ugh". He returned with a new coleslaw and said there is Dijon mustard in it so it tastes that way and the reason for being yellow". I thanked him and he stayed at the table till I tasted it. Again it was "rank" as my son called it after he tasted it and I just said "thanks I'll make it work". Later he returned to clean the table and said "what you didn't eat the coleslaw?" I laughed and said no as it was obvious as it sat there. For me the meal was standard as it is when I visit this location. Food was hot and served timely. My son will return for pizza and in time I would return. My thoughts as the time of this posting ....... Ask if they have any shortages before your seated and stay away from the coleslaw. Your service you receive is what you make of it but when your heart is set on your fav items and they are not there.... It kind of spirals down from there. I love Piping hot pizza however thisJust luke warm when we picked up and 5 mins early for pick up time. The staff was nice and seemed to have systems down- when I got there to pay. Wife had a small cheese pizza, and I had a salad and the spaghetti with meat sauce. per spouse cheese was very good and the crust was good as well. Could have been cooked a few minutes more but not bad, my spaghetti was very watery and a little on the soft side, my guess had been in the water a little too long and not drained before putting in the bowl. Meat sauce was very good and there was plenty of it, but soft watery spaghetti took away from the experience. Waiter was nice but did not see much of them, but as busy as they were it was expected. Ran out of water a couple of times and had to flag someone down. The one person who was a blur was the person picking up the dishes, empty plate NEVER stayed on the table long at all. read more
