Decided to try this place out based on the fact that the family was craving a little bit of everything: hotpot, rice, and steak. First things first, parking is a bit small here, its located in a little strip mall that shares many other businesses, I've seen people park in other areas and walk over, so if you can't find parking, I recommend doing the same. Walked in with the family, got seated right away. What happened next confused me. They seat you and then ask you to wave them down when you are ready; which kind of sucks if you are seated in a spot where they can't see you. They have about four people working the front, but they just stay there unless flagged down. It feels awkward like they want to be sit-down, while also wanting to be fast-casual. Either way, it is what it is. We were able to flag them down, and ordered. However, like what others have said, there is no rhyme or reason as to what comes out of the kitchen first and who gets it first. I saw many people who ordered their food before me (same stuff) and get it after my family and I got it. At the same time, saw others who came after me, get their food first. I ordered the steak with vegetables and fries. At my table, I got mine first, so it was awkward to wait another 5 or so minutes before the rest of my table got their rice dish or their ramen. The staff are very patient and kind. I had the Miso Ramen, and I shared half of it with my younger sister. I was able to fill up her bowl, and I had more than enough for myself. The meat tastes delicious if you dip it in peanut sauce. You do have to ask for sauce though. They have really big booths, and their menu is very clear and easy to read. went to the Red Flame in Tustin a few months ago and couldn't believe how underwhelming the food and dining experience were. yet, here i was on 12/31/24 going to the Artesia location by virtue of other restaurants being closed for the new year. the g/f ordered the rib eye lava stone with 2x fries, and i ordered the house special hot pot (non-spicy). rib eye was ordered and came out rare, but being it was a little thicker, it kept cooking one side of the steak. apparently flipping it over might help it cook more evenly - noted, if there is ever a next time. because the g/f ordered 2x side of fries, we kept having to ask for additional ketchup. on the other hand, serving generic A1, some kind of sweet-and-sour, and BBQ sauces in individual sauce cups didn't make them "better". the hot pot was nicely filled with ingredients, but it looked like they just threw ingredients into the pot and filled it - some of the napa cabbage were cut either too big or small. everything tasted fine and would have gotten a better review, except when the staff added more "stock" into the hot pot. the soup had this odd flavor afterwards until i drank the water and realized both use the same water source. the dipping sauces at tableside were, like the sauces for the rib eye, "generic". a few additional things noted: - the iced water was pre-poured in paper cups, but the cups end up absorb the water. by the time these get to the table, they're slightly saturated and buckle/bend by the time you go to pick it up for a sip of water. - speaking of water... the odd flavor later reminded me of under-filtered tap water. it's the same under-filtered flavor you get at home and from convenience store soft drink dispensers. - i know it was New Year's Eve and all, and business looked slow, but the lack of enthusiasm was very apparent. and yes, my g/f and i felt bad about asking for more ketchup for her fries btw, don't be fooled by the nice IG short vid or facebook short clips. you won't get what you saw. read more

We asked for the sauces for the pot and that came quick, but we never got a sauce tray, so when we asked for it, he acknowledged the request and never returned. I highly recommend trying a hotpot, maybe the House Special #1 Hotpot. They are about $13 each and absolutely filled to the brim with large shrimp, cabbage, fish cakes, and tofu. Get yourself a frozen udon noodle side for $1 and you have a huge filling meal. The broth is absolutely amazing; fatty, umami, yet light at the same time. I ordered the Ribeye Steak, the Mushroom Garlic Noodles, and the Lychee Lemonade. At first, I thought the lychee lemonade was too sweet, but it was the perfect pairing for the rest of my meal. The Ribeye Steak came on a sizzling platter with a glob of butter on top. The steak was season so well and the butter just added to that. It came with three sauces: barbecue sauce, hot sauce, and A1 sauce. I ordered it medium rare which was perfect because it continued cooking at my table since it was on top of a sizzling hot stone/brick. I had a side of French Fries and White Rice with that. The Rice was pretty standard, but the French Fries were just right (crispy on the outside and soft on the inside).
