Used to be a great place years ago, but it's turned into a breakfast joint that will leave you feeling like you should have just gone somewhere else. I've learned my lesson, not going to be going here anymore. I was thinking about leaving a review a few weeks ago and didn't bother ... but coming across their latest controversy swayed me. It doesn't matter what side of the political fence you're on... what they did with their sign which was up and then taken down right away just says a lot about who's running this business to me-- not a very savvy move. Good judgment from management seems to be lacking. It might persuade some to come in specifically to "support the cause/boycott", but I'm not too sure the majority of neighborhood folks who want to sit down for an egg sandwich want to be feeling that kind of political tension first thing in the morning. In my humble opinion of course, it's just tasteless. Literally and figuratively hah. **edit. After reading reviews from other sources, (trip advisor, google) it seems like there's a pattern here going pretty far back, at least long before the sign was put up. It's uncommon to see local business around here have multiple reviews about management and staff being noticeably racist & homophobic. This little diner is everything you'd hope for and more. Great food (try the corn beef hash!) great service (Sherry is amazing) and the ambiance is exactly what you'd expect. It gets crazy on weekends so try to get here early! read more

Was going to eat at this establishment until I noticed a Nike logo in the window crossed out. I thought it was a joke. Walked in and they told me that I had to leave because of the Nike apperal that I was wearing. Me being a person of color I know what this whole boycott of Nike stands for to an white establishment. This is the hottest diner around town! Just ask the locals... most the people in there are there most days out of the week. This diner has great owners, atmosphere, workers, food and customers. The owners, Patty and Lou, are always around and are very genuine. This place really cares about every one of its customers. I love eating at the Red Fox! Stopped in this quaint diner while visiting my Mom . It looked busy as plenty of cars were outside . It is in the same plaza as the lighthouse point post office which has loads of parking spaces . Cool if you have some letters to mail while your out eating ,lol. So, we head in and waitress greets us with a bright smile telling us to please seat where we would like to sit. Immediatly came over and took our drink order and suggested the daily special. Since it was 11am it was between breakfast and lunch time . My eyes looked toward the grill area which was an open counter type style . The waitress even took my phone and charged it for me since she heard me complain my phone had died and wishing I could charge it. There was a table near the back I guess where waitresses would sit for a bit and she said that she'd make sure nothing happened to it. Ok,now the food . My mom ordered french toast and I decided for a open faced turkey meal with mashed and a veggie medley of red pepper, broccoli and green beans and more . When I tell you that it was amazing and you should order it ,you should :) no complaints at all . My mom got her coffee refilled without asking and she loved her french toast . I will come back tomorrow to try their breakfast since it's so close to mom's house . Their is stores all around this area to shop after your nice meal . read more

Unprofessional people. We sat outside to eat in the sun. We moved the table a little to the shade. Server told us to move the table back and we had no problem doing so. She then considered to get go and talk smack about us to her Co workers while we were like 6 feet away and heard everything. We simply got up and left. Rude people would not recommend. read more

So while dropping off a package at the post office near this dinner I decided to drop in and have a late breakfast. This was the first mistake. I seated myself at a small corner table and ordered eggs over easy English muffin and bacon as well as hash browns. Coffee to drink. The eggs were overcooked, the muffin burnt and the hash browns were heavy and greasy. While the place is relatively clean and is observing social distancing, at least for the seated consumer, not one of the servers was wearing their mask correctly. Every single server on the floor had their mouths covered but not their noses. There was also mention made of Targets Transgender bathroom policy. Apparently one of the servers won't allow her daughter to use the restrooms at the Targets and had gone so far to stop shopping at their stores due to this policy. My guess is that this big mouth server is a bigot and doesn't care who knows it! Why this was part of this awful meal and experience is beyond me. This is one of those dumps you want to avoid. This diner has been in lighthouse point for 50+ years and dishes up a good breakfast. I had the ham, Swiss and broccoli omelette (they forgot the broccoli) and it was made with delicious chunks of ham. Great flavor. Silver dollar pancakes and sausage for our daughter, and the number three for my husband. The sausage patty was fried- not that great- and the hash brown patties looked store bought. I had the home fries which were simply seasoned and okay. Service was good, we got a few coffee refills (super important to me) and she was attentive. Holy cow. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I received some of the most amazing service I've ever gotten anywhere today while at this restaurant. I have a 1 year old son whom we call the tiny tyrant for a reason. He is going through the terrible 2s and so was having a bit of a cow. He was hungry strapped down in a high chair and tired so with this trifecta it creates a very unhappy toddler. I had 2 folks bring over a banana and a box of raisins for my son and all of them try to just cheer him up a bit. They really just went above and beyond what they needed to do for my child. I was just absolutely blown away. The food was also absolutely delicious and would highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to eat here. Their omlettes are to die for as well as the hash brown patties. I love their bagels and most of all their pancakes. There is nothing like a good breakfast diner. This place was busy (a good sign) and the food was tasty. I had a classic two egg breakfast with bacon and finished every last bite. My wife got eggs and pancakes with sausage. Everything was great, except the sausage patties tasted weird and so we asked for bacon instead and they were totally cool about it. Great staff and very good service. If I lived locally I'd definitely come back again. read more

What a cute, friendly neighborhood place! On a Tuesday morning there was no wait. We sat down and were treated to a delicious breakfast served quickly by a friendly server! Thank you Diane! The decor is cute with some great old time photos of the area and a lovely mural of Lighthouse Point. My Alaskan Eggs Benedict were fresh and delicious! My daughter had the coconut french toast and my mother in law ordered the Greek omelet. All 3 meals were a hit! What more can you say. This place is really good. The service is friendly and attentive. They have regular specials, as well as classic diner fare. Just had lunch here, I had a turkey, avocado wrap with chipotle mayo. Think BLT with turkey and some heat... It was great. Too bad the reviews of this place didn't carry forward. Have always seen the parking lot to this place packed on the weekends and we finally went to check it out for the first time today (a Saturday morning). There was a wait to sit inside, weather was nice, so we sat immediately outside, which we almost immediately regretted. The sun was so intensely beaming down on us despite attempts to hide behind a column. It would be a great investment if they could provide some sort of shade coverage with plants or an awning or something. Food: I ordered a waffle with strawberries and a side of bacon, all of which were delicious and I would totally order again. My boyfriend ordered two eggs over-easy with bacon, which came with hash browns and toast. The food overall was really good, solid, staple breakfast diner food. It's not frilly and fancy and "avant-garde" but it is just tasty. They have a pretty big menu, and I would definitely go back and try a few different dishes from there. Service: the waitress was attentive, although a little abrupt, again kind of typical of a high volume diner-type place. I didn't mind it. This is our go to place close to home and shopping. But it's not just GREAT food, well prepared but the warm, friendly staff that makes us feel welcome and well served. This establishment has been around ever since we moved here over 20 years ago. It is on its 3rd owners who have been there for many years as has many of the staff. You can't go wrong. i had been here a couple times pre-covid, and came in here for a late breakfast. the food was okay, our waitress was overall friendly but we had to remind her to put her mask on right. the concern we had was that they didn't seem to care about following covid guidelines. one of the employees had their mask completely off their face and was going back and forth into the kitchen. we weren't pleased with the fact that the employees were okay with putting our health at risk. edit: after reading some reviews about their racist and homophobic behavior, i wish i could've given zero stars. definitely not visiting this place again. also noticed employees wearing pro-police t shirts, why not leave the politics at home? so immature read more

This is a locals diner. My husband grew up in Lighthouse Point. We always run into so many friends and neighbors when we come here. The foods good and the waitstaff friendly. I love our small town of Lighthouse Point! If you are looking for a quaint small town atmosphere, this is a great place for lunch and breakfast! Thought I would try this diner out and read all the great reviews, unfortunately my experience within the first 5 min has been nothing delightful. I asked for nondairy creamer and they don't serve anything but milk. I then ordered an omelette and I can not have gluten so instead of bread I asked for tomato slices and they said no substitutes and it would be $1.25 for the slices. I can't believe they couldn't accommodate just for my gluten free diet. I don't even care about the milk. I think it was selfish and not very professional. read more
