The shop was adorable! Lots of great options for flavored lattes and I appreciate that they support local artists by having their work up on the walls. However, the coffee and service was just ok. Had a small latte but couldn't really taste the espresso. The weirdest thing is that my friend and I ordered the exact same drink (same flavor, same size, same alternative milk) yet I was charged almost 35 cents more. With the overcharging and other factors being taken in consideration, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Red Kettle Coffee is a hidden gem up the California coast. We were driving through California in our way to Seattle, WA and we had to stop and check out this really unique coffee shop. We ordered coffee, tea and cookies. Everyone there is polite and friendly. This inside looks like a little country home. It's adorable. Red Kettle Coffee has really delicious coffee. This coffee shop's coffee and americanos are truly delicious and not just a typical coffee shop type of coffee. Also, this is the one place that I have found offers a strawberry croissant! The strawberry croissant is fresh, tasty, good quality and unique. Lastly, there is a lovely outdoor patio and all kinds of lil trinkets, cards, and useful items ( ie beeswax reusable food wrap) that you can purchase at Red Kettle Coffee. I purchased a bag of espresso beans to take home and am so glad I did. Its the kind of americano you make and sit and just sip and take in; really taste the flavor and smell the aroma. Bummer of a first experience. Coffee was lukewarm, weak and sitting out on the counter. I've never liked the "pour it yourself" method of some coffee shops. I had the "805 blend". Service was lukewarm, too. I had a couple questions about the roast and didn't get much info from the owner other than "someone in Ventura roasts it for us". Honestly, the coffee was terrible. I tossed it and picked up another cup at my regular shop in SB. Admittedly, I'm pretty picky about my coffee. But, I won't be going out of my way to visit again. Reading the other comments, It's obvious my experience is vastly different than most. I wish them luck but will stick with The French Press in SB. read more

I just rode my motorcycle up from Long Beach and the owners were kind enough to let me in a little before 6:30 AM. Fantastic coffee, clean establishment, easily accessible from Lillie Road. There are a few tables outside and a nice stainless steel counter inside with a plug to recharge your phone. There is a bookshelf full of books and beautiful art on the walls.This will become a regular stop for future trips! read more

Just had my first visit. I work locally and it's chilly today. I wanted a simple really good cup of coffee. I remembered that this place had just opened up a little over a month ago and decided to try it out. I was pleasantly surprised! The décor is bright and although the space isn't large, you feel like it's very open and much larger than it is. They have fun little trinkets and mugs for sale. (These items add to the lovely simple décor.) There is a good selection of baked goods. (Muffins, Croissants, etc.) I had an Apple Pecan Muffin (which was one of the best muffins I've had in a long time! I'm going to be dreaming about it until I have another one again.) For coffee, I had a large cup of coffee and chose the 805 (medium). It was the perfect cup of coffee I've been craving. Thank you Red Kettle Coffee for opening up and filling a much needed void! This little town of Summerland is a quintessential family beach get away. How adorable is this coffee shop? Stopped here after buying orchids down the road and sat in the courtyard and enjoyed a cappuccino. The shop has a few unique gift items and I highly recommended stopping. read more
