We got there at 6:30 pm walked in to get a table and half of the tables were empty but people were sitting outside for a 45-one hour wait due to lack of staff.. so we sit at bar to only be able to get drinks during wait due to lack of bartenders... so we wait for over an hour only to find out they forgot us. We finally sit down at 8:15pm at table only to get our entree at 9:15 by this time lost our appetite to have to pack up our now ready dinner that has been sitting in kitchen for over 30 min until my husband finally got aggravated and started making a scene about the crazy long ass wait and food almost cold by this time.. We've visited twice in the past month and each time the service was just awful. Our only two Red Lobster experiences were less than mediocre and disappointing to say the least. The poor service cheapens the atmosphere, quality and value of the food. My advice is to drive farther down and find another place to have dinner. read more

Don't sit in the bar area because the bar tender had to work the bar, Answer the phone to take the takeout orders, and serve the guest who sit in the bar area. This is too much for one person. He handled it like a champ. He was slow at times but not because of effort... He was truly wearing many hats to serve people. I blame management, not him. His name is McKinley... Meanwhile, you have 3 hostesses and only one actually looks up and says anything. When we left, none of them said a word. Why not have one of them help McKinley ? I stopped going to red lobster a while ago because the food wasn't all that great. It has improved. I will come back again but warning.... Next time I will ask to speak to a manger on the hostesses. Well, it's been awhile since they re-opened this restaurant in Baton Rouge and I have eaten here three times, dine-in. All 3 times have been horrible food. The lovely shrimp they show on their TV commercials look great until you realize how closeup the camera is on them. Pay attention next time you see their commercial on TV. They are showing the actual shrimp they use, which CAN'T BE Louisiana shrimp! They're so small it isn't even funny! I have medium sized hands for a woman and the shrimp are no bigger than my PINKY! Unbelievable and how embarrassing for them! The only good thing that comes from this restaurant is the cheese biscuits..that are a free appetizer with free refills on them. I've had scallops which were rubbery and sandy. I've had shrimp which were rubbery and very small. I've had fried crawfish tails which were nothing like any fried crawfish tails I've ever eaten! The batter on them was slightly sweet and bland. No seasonings, and it tasted pastey. With them you get a choice of fries, baked potato, or dirty rice. I ordered the baked potato loaded. I GOT the fried crawfish tails with ALL 3 sides!! My baked potato was not loaded. It had sour cream and butter on it. That's it. I've had the gumbo which was thick like stew (that's not gumbo consistency) and it didn't have the taste of gumbo at all. I've also ordered the Lobster Bisque, which was decent. My dinner companion ordered the grilled chicken pasta and it was in a POOL of grease (see picture). So nasty to serve food like that! I just can't seem to get a decent plate of food from this restaurant!! I won't be returning unless nothing else is open and it's my last pick for food, which will never happen because there are 24 hr. restaurants that serve better food than this. Honestly, the food quality is the pits. I still foresee them closing soon. Now, each time I drive by, I notice fewer and fewer cars in their lot. It's not doing well, and it's apparent this is another fail for Red Lobster. What's sad is they have a great menu for a seafood restaurant, but just don't have the employees to execute it. Not a fan of this location. For whatever reason, I just didnt get a good vibe. I will say the waitress Mrs Kim was VERY nice & accommadating. She would get FIVE stars! Lobster dip was amazing I ordered then only thing I really eat there...something I had been craving for over a week....Bar Harbor Lobster Bake. Sigh, only to have a hair hanging from the curled lobster tail after I peeled it from its half shell.... So the manager came over & said Oh wow Im sorry. I know all my staff have hair nets or caps on. I said well all it takes is one stray hair. So he said he would take it off the bill. However it took our waitress 3 times to get him to correct it. I know it wasnt mine especially since it was stuck inside the curled tail. I sort of felt like he was insintuating that it couldnt have possibily come from the kitchen and maybe he thought it had been in there since the lobster was caught? **eye roll** When something like this happens, regardless of how you think it happened, you apologize, state that you will make sure this doesnt happen again, & adjust the bill accordingly. I am writing this in hopes to help this business not bring them down. I dined at this restaurant on 8-12-18. When the wife and I walked into the hostess area, we were hit by an odor comparable to a fish market with old stinky shrimp and fish. This immediately caused me to consider turning around and exiting. But having had previous good experiences there, we decided to go ahead and try the food again. We ordered the Admiral's Feast. There was plenty of good, well prepared, tasty food. The salad, shrimp, clam strips, flounder, scallops, and baked potato were all delicious. Sadly, during the meal a garbage odor periodically wafted from the kitchen, which gave me concern about the cleanliness in that area. Also the men's restroom smelled like a gas station restroom that had never been properly cleaned. Pretty bad! In summarizing, the food was very good, and the service by our waitress was great, but the cleanliness and odor of this Red Lobster Restaurant are unacceptable. They need to rectify this problem because it will only get worse if something is not immediately done about this. Hopefully I can give this place no stars and still make a review, went there to eat and ordered well over 100 dollars worth of food for 4 people. Order came out and a roach runs across my food, as well as is found on my table this place will never receive my business as well as I will let anyone I encounter know about this as I am management at a local hotel. The manager at the restaurant actually proceeded to tell us that if we called the board of health that they would tell us they are the cleanest restaurant in Baton Rouge . This is a rant about poor service, settle in and get comfy. We came here because it was close to Best Buy where we were out shopping and the kids were hungry. My 9 year old daughter excitedly yelled out Red Lobster as her choice, and there we went. We got there around 3-ish, which isn't peak eating time, so it wasn't at all crowded. Our party of 5 (y'all remember that show though? heh) 3 adults, 2 kids were seated in only a minute or two. We sat there for about 5 minutes and our server, who I THINK was named Denise, ran by our table (without stopping) and said something about being busy doing something else and she'd be "right back". Well, almost 10 mins after that, a different server came by and asked us if we had been greeted and had anyone gotten our drink orders. We said Uh sorta kinda but not really and she profusely apologized, introduced herself (her name is YaShiecka) and told us that she wasn't our server but would be happy to take our orders. Which she did. When she returned with the drinks, still nothing from our server, so she took our food orders too. When YaShiecka returned with the rest of the drinks and those delicious Cheddar Bay biscuits, our server FINALLY had time for us...she stopped and thanked YaShiecka for her help in the phoniest speech I've ever witnessed in person, and said she had it from here. Well she didn't. The whole table ran out of something to drink, and all but one ordered a drink plus water. She refilled my daughters lemonade with water and when she did, she spilled icewater on her. And then proceeded to blame it on the water pitcher. Food came out slow and she was no where to be found after we got food. So my daughter needed ketchup and we had to ask another lady to bring it out, which she did. Our server managed to bring out two more baskets of biscuits (unasked for) but we were eating at that point so one whole basket went to waste. The side salads came out at the end of the meal, and two of them had no salad dressing on them. We didn't even bother saying anything at that point it wasn't even worth it. So unfortunately they also went to waste. At the end she offered to clean the lil Red Lobster jars that are free to keep with the Lobster Punch drink and I suppose she thought that made up for her failed service. Negative. I left her a $2.00 tip. I personally handed a larger tip to YaShiecka for helping us when she didn't have to, and my friends did the same thing. My son said she hurried to our table after we left to open the bill folios to see what kind of tip she got. Lol! Observations of other tables in our servers area showed an older couple highly pissed, the husband was just over it. The table behind us exclaimed "Yay food!" they'd been waiting so long. A quick note on the food: I only got appetizers: seafood stuff mushrooms (yuck) and the lobster cheese dip (pretty good). The kids had fried fish and shrimp, which u can't mess that up if you tried, and they were satisfied. We were in Red Lobster for over two hours, which is ridiculous. Service should be up to par with those high prices on their menu. With all of the seafood restaurant options and options in general in Baton Rouge, I am shocked this place is still in business. read more

I hate to write bad reviews, but i have to say something. Came here hoping things would be ok because the restaurant wouldn't be busy on superbowl Sunday. WRONG. Don't know if they were understaffed because people called in, but the assistant manager is clearing tables and bringing out food. Its NOT BUSY!!!!!! i would hate to be here when its full........15 minutes to be seated=great......15 minutes before we got WATER= NOT GREAT. Took our order. (This is the only bright spot in the whole review: an off duty employee took our food and drink order.....i wish i could have given him the TIP!!!)..another 15 minutes to get salads and appetizers. Finally get to meet my waitress.....she was sweet, but it was too late. Assistant manager came and got me a drink refill, he was awesome, and a lil upset. Hadn't been to a Red Lobster in a while, but my mom had given me and my husband gift cards for Christmas, so last night (1-19-17) we finally had time and went. I used to LOVE red lobster but it seems their quality has gone down a bit. I ordered the seafood stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer as I usually do but they were the tiniest mushrooms I have ever seen in my life! Should be renamed "seafood topped baby mushrooms " also ordered the green bean and mushroom side dish with my Salmon, good flavor but teeny tiny mushrooms also. Probably the worst dining experience I've ever had. After being seated for a late lunch, it was nearly half an hour before anyone took our order. (Party of 2) The appetizer we split, seafood stuffed mushrooms, should have warned us. The mushrooms were rubbery and the stuffing bland and greasy. We each ate part of one. There was no salmon for my mixed grill so Mahi-mahi was substituted and was extremely over cooked, dry and tough. The scallops were rubbery and full of grit and the shrimp were also tough. My side of broccoli was steamed with no seasoning at all. I never received the second side that came with the meal. When I complained to the server about the entree, he stated he wasn't surprised it was bad. (?!?!) My companion had a steak and said it was tough and unseasoned. At the end of the meal, she was quite upset to find a hair in her food. The tea and biscuits were OK, and the server, knowing how bad the entire meal was, did comp part of it. Walking in it seems like any red lobster, but when I was seated it took about 20min before we even got drinks ordered. It seemed like all the waiters and waitresses had never waited tables before and they certainly didn't know how to work the POS system. I ordered the fried calamari with fried vegetables. It was awful and there was barely any calamari it was mostly broccoli. I wanted some ketchup for it which took about 10min to get. When I finally got to order my main corse, my dad and I ordered fish and chips. The French fries were the only good thing I got. It took about 5 min before if could get ketchup each time I asked for it I got a bout a tablespoon. The fish had some kind of weird oil coming out of it. It tasted so bad I didn't eat much of it. If that wasn't bad enough I got food poisoning. It lasted a couple days and I even had to go to the doctor because my stomach wasn't right. I have been here several times and it is by far one of my favorites. First let me say I have a specific dish that I come here for. The parmesan crusted Tilapia and it is very tasty. The service has always been good and you leave full. They bring delightful cheese biscuits and a nice dinner salad. I was very excited to go to this restaurant for this is my favorite thus far. I love the experience of walking inside and scoping out the place the old people who sits around at tables of two. Also the salt shakers spark my interest and the main highlight of my experience there is seeing the live lobsters in the tank with tape around their claws. On this day my dad decided to take me out for a father daughter dinner. I was very excited and looked forward to the Garlic cheese bread that they replaced every time you ran out. I loved to put my garlic bread in napkins and stick them in my purse. At this restaurant my dad and I were seated and we waited about 35 minutes before the waiter even came to take our drink orders. All around us I could smell the delicious aromas of the lobsters and the shrimp. I looked at the menu for about an hour waiting for my drink just to be placed in front of me. I began to get angry and crumple the cold bread that My father and I didn't finish , because we didn't want to get full off bread. By the time the waiter came to take my order I was so confused of what to get because they had taken so long. Finally after ordering a lobster and shrimp meal. We waited for about another hour and a half just to get our food. By the time we received our food the order was all wrong they gave me a shrimp pasta dish. I got out of my seat to go and find the waiter who was taking a smoke break. I asked for the manager but nobody seemed to hear me. I walked around asking other waiters for help but they only asked my section and said they would assist me when they had time out of their section. I walked around for about a good twenty-five minutes. When I did get back to my table my dad had finished all of our bread. I just knew we wouldn't get anymore. Hungry and upset I settled down and just took a spoon full of the pasta . I knew I wasn't going to pay full price for the horrible service. Finally our waiter came back , when I told him my proposition he developed an attitude and he didn't even refill our drinks. My dad decided it was time to go he asked for the check which took twenty minutes to get he paid and left. Even though we didn't receive the expected service we desired. I'll break this down into two parts for review: the food from a national chain restaurant perspective, and the local flare. I know that large chains like Red Lobster require the local restaurants to buy the main products like shrimp and fish from them...nothing is local (which is a shame here in the gulf area), so needless to say, the shrimp, while flavored very well, were some of the tinyiest I've ever seen. My wife and I both had shrimp scampi and the shrimp were smaller than my pinky finger. It took three to make a good bite. I will admit, it was flavored very well. I had a platter with multiple types of shimp dishes on it. One of the other dishes was the shrimp alfredo with linguini. Again...very good flavor, but the shrimp were tiny and not a lot of them. My son had a steak (yeah, not usually smart at a seafood place) and as expected, the quality of the steak was poor...full of gristle and quite tough. I know the local restaurant isn't responsible for the quality they can get from the parent company, so I don't blame them, but overall, Red Lobster should be ashamed. The local parts of the restaurant were pretty good. Our server, John, was fantastic. Our glasses never got below half empty, and he kept the garlic cheese biscuits coming because the kitchen was running very slowly. Salads were brought quickly and he was passing by quite frequently to check on us and promptly removing any empty dishes. He was really good and I'll ask for him if we return. It was a Saturday night and the local team was playing football...just a note to management....have the local SEC team on the TV in the bar. Locals want to root for the home team. May expalin why the bar was half empty. The restaurant is decorated well but could have used a little sweeping in the main hallways from the daily traffic. The two people at the desk could have been taking care of things like that. If the food quality was better we would be returning a lot more often, and again, I understand that isn't the local management's problem. My husband took me to Red Lobsters on Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge to celebrate my 28th anniversary of being smoke free. We have been to different locations in the past with no problems but this one is a disgrace to the food chain. The appetizers took a very long time to be served but they were really good and were the only good thing we had that night. My make your own combo had fried oysters, stuffed flounder and grilled scallops, the oysters were okay, nothing special but edible, the stuffed flounder was over cooked but not remotely as over cooked as the scallops, they were completely inedible. My husband ordered a bowl of gumbo that had to have started out with a gallon of gasoline, it was truly that bad. He loves gumbo and orders it frequently, this was the first time that he has ever sent it back. I ordered the lobster mashed potatoes that didn't get to us until we were leaving and came out in a to go bowl. I paid $3.99 for under a half cup of potatoes. When we ordered our food I told the waitress that we wanted a dozen biscuits to go, we never got those. She brought out three biscuits when she brought the apps out and they were under baked and very doughy. The waitress apologized all night but she never improved. My husband wound up with a very small order of French fries as his entree since the gumbo wasn't edible. We spent nearly $70 for food that McDonalds wouldn't have approved of. Very very disappointed in everything except the apps and my glass of water. My husband said that he will never go back there again but I probably will at some point but I will be sticking to the lobster pizza and water. read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time last week and the service was wonderful. We were greeted by the manager who directed a hostess to show us to a seat. The waitress was very quick and efficient. I normally don't eat salads at restaurants because of the lack of freshness, but I actually ate the salad here without being worried of becoming sick. It was fresh and pretty good. Overall, the food was good with one exception. The fried crawfish tails were greasy as if they were placed in the frying oil too soon. TERRIBLE! First, we waited 2.5hrs to get a seat. They ran out if pagers so we had to fight to get one. Finally, after we were seated next to the bar on uncomfortable seats, we ordered. An order of crabs that someone in our party ordered were not edible due to overcooking and they ended up forgetting side items for everyone and only brought them out after we were finished eating. One person in our party received her order after everyone had finished eating and we were told they would take it off the bill but when we asked for the check the waitress told us she would need to ask the manager. After waiting for her to arrive back w our check it took so long and by then we had been there for 4hrs so we left without paying. Worst service I've ever experienced. I do not recommend. this was my first time at Red Lobster and probably my last. When I arrived with my party of 7 we were all VERY hungry and thirsty. We were seated right away but our waitress took 10 minutes to greet us and get our drink orders/ appetizers. 10 minutes is way too long for a table to sit and wait to be greeted but we didn't care we were just ready for our drinks. Well our drinks took over 30 minutes to get to us. I don't usually complain at restaurants bc I used to be a waitress but waiting 30min for 7 simple drinks (mostly waters) is ridiculous!! So when the manager walked by I stopped him and told him what was going on, expecting him to be apologetic but he was NOT. He talked to me in a very patronizing tone and said my waitress would be right out and walked off. We were a table full of women so I can't help but think that is why he showed so little concern to us, especially because I had just witnessed him speaking with a male guest and showing lots of concern for that mans issue. If our drinks and appetizers had not had come out right then, we would have gotten up and left. As our waitress set down our drinks she could tell we were very annoyed so she said (with lots of attitude) "I know y'al thought I was not coming back but I was just busy in the back getting y'alls drinks and appetizers together" Which was not a reasonable explanation AT ALL. Why would she wait to bring our drinks WITH the appetizers? Makes no sense at all. and she had the nerve to have an attitude with us. Then after all that when she is taking our food order I asked for a specialty item and she then notifies me that they no longer have that dish....I definitely think that is something I should have known before looking at the menu for over 30 minutes and selecting my meal!!! My family and I had dinner there last night. BIG MISTAKE, HUGE!! We were seated across from a table of about 15-20 Seniors. They were loud and one of them was particularly loud, like Auntie Mame on steroids after 3 glasses of wine. Our server was very busy with their table and the attitude was, "I have this huge table so you're going to get horrible service but just deal with it." The lobster bisque tasted awful, as if it had been in the bottom of a pot reheated a million times. When they brought out the meals, mine was not there. My husband's meal was tiny and cold for $14.50. When my meal still had not come out, my husband complained to the server. He asked where my food was and she said just a few more minutes. She had my husband's plate in her hand to return to the kitchen and my husband said to forget it and my meal as well. He asked how many other tables she had besides ours and the large one. She got snippy and said, "That has nothing to do with it." My husband asked for the manager. What a piece of work he was! He told my husband he had made the server cry and that it wasn't very nice. He advised he would take off our 2 meals @ $14.50 each. When we got the final bill, it was $60 for an appetizer, 3 soft drinks, a kid's meal, a cup of bisque and a regular meal. They had also charged us for a $17 meal no one ordered. He said he took that off as it was a mistake and he took off the 2 meals. He actually left one of the meals on after all. He also gave us the meals, which we threw in the garbage on the way home. This is why we had not been to Red Lobster in 6 years. We heard 3 people complain their food was cold on the way out.
