Lunch here was disappointing. We stopped here early afternoon for a late lunch. She ordered the ultimate feast smaller portion & I the stuffed mushrooms & Caesar salad with shrimp & lobster. The Cheddar Bay biscuits were warm & delicious. Her meal was ok but not hot. My salad had 6 shrimp of which 4 were slightly discolored and the ? Lobster? Was a chopped shredded dressing poured over the lettuce with Casear dressing over that. You could not even taste the dressing which is good due to the lobster ? Dressing? Below are my last to experiences at this location (Waterford): My partner and I went for dinner one night, and we had to keep putting in different orders because the waiter kept coming back saying they were out. Our waiter also told us they were completely out of biscuits; however, they started handing them out again as we were about to leave. So, we were probably told they were out so we didn't wait around. This is the fifth time I have ordered to be delivered by door dash and this is the third time red lobster has messed up. Either that are to busy to do my order or they give my order to the wrong person! Never had to look for her for anything cause she made sure we had everything we needed. Our food was nice and hot and delicious. The biscuits were super fresh, you could see the steam of them. The restaurant was very clean. Wasnt over crowded which was nice. Even the manager whose name I didnt get came over to check on us. He was also very kind and Courteous. We usually hit this place about once every year or two. We usually go for one of their crab promotions and this year was no different. Our server was very sweet and did a very nice job. She was just the right amount of attentive and not pushy. Our standard issue with RL is the food isn't very good. It's not gross or anything, but it's really not good. The odd part is that their crab legs are still pretty great. I'm down to 2 items on the menu: crab legs and popcorn shrimp. The latter is just something I'm a sucker for. The second issue with RL is they are one of the only mainstream chain restaurants that seems to live by the "and that's only a small upcharge" gimmick. "Would you like to substitute _____ for _____ for only $2 more?" Seriously, over the course of just the 2 of us ordering dinner, we were given like 8 or more options "for just a small upcharge." The girl was as sweet as pie, but you can tell they drill that into their heads. It's written all over the menu, as well. It's an obsession at RL. We had the Bairdi platters. I had the Parmesan corn ($1 upcharge!) and my wife had the standard corn with what tastes like Old Bay sprinkled on it. Both corns were fairly blah and left half-eaten. I wasted a dollar on something that actually made my corn WORSE than my wife's corn. I had their attempt at a side salad, which is more like a bowl of dressing. I picked at it. My wife just added an extra side of mashed potatoes. They have upcharge options to the mashed potatoes... I kid you not, they seriously do. I think she had 2 bites before declaring them mushy cardboard. ALL THAT SAID... the crab was delicious. It's hard to mess up crab, although it can be done. They did not. We ate every bite and loved it. My wife likes the biscuits and I'm ok with them. They are always a bit too salty for me and make my mouth taste like metal. It's the only thing I've ever eaten that does that... kinda like those zinc cold lozenges that you might get from your grandma. However, your meal comes with the amazing "EAT OUR CRAB BECAUSE WE'RE A SPONSOR ON THE DEADLIEST CATCH" all over the menu and around the store. They even sell Deadliest Catch glasses!! I went, waited at the bar area for about 15 minutes before anyone helped me, then when I was helped, she took another 15-20 minutes to get my order. Well the biscuits are still great. My wife ordered the crab legs and immediately sent them back because the smell began to make her sick. She was not able to eat anything but her salad. I had the ultimate feast, my crab legs were tiny and had that same non fresh smell. My baked potato was not cooked and even the fried shrimp was a bit dry. This was not typical of our previous visits here but it will probably be our last. Both of us had to have a round of Pepto when we got home. Order was for a crab linguini alfredo FAMILY MEAL with a side lobster tail and scallops and came with TWO biscuits. I called to ask why it only came with two biscuits and was told that it should've been eight. I then pointed to the receipt that clear reflected two biscuits and was asked for my phone number and was told that it would be "investigated." I didn't receive a call back. At least I received four sets of cutlery with the "family meal." Tells me how much attention my order was given. The food itself? They were doing the all you can eat shrimp deal, but I passed on that since I'm trying to watch my weight and meals such as those tend to be counterproductive to that goal. Not that the coconut shrimp plate I ordered was going to be a whole lot better, but it tasted okay and I didn't have the temptation to order more as I would have with AYCE shrimp. I was happy with the serving size, and the mashed potatoes were okay. Of course, those cheddar biscuits are good. But still seemed really nice.... I got an excellent Amaretto Colada, not a frozen drink. Hubby ordered a lobster tail and a whole steamed lobster which they did nicely. My meal was the disaster. I ordered a featured steak and lobster pairing. I know, I know... what was I thinking ordering steak. But hey it was featured and had a mushroom marsala sauce paired with a stuffed lobster tail. The steak came out medium well. At this point bthe waiter was no where to be seen. No checkback for a long time. I finally flagged down a random waiter and he showed up. he took the steak off my plate and after awhile a new steak showed up. This one was cooked a little better but no longer had the nice sauce or any of the mushrooms on it. I did not complain because it had been quite a while and hubs was done eating. The problems with service were just part of the problem. He was nice and friendly but missing the skill set. We've eaten at this Red Lobster several times. The food is always tough for me to eat because I like my fish fried and I try to stay away from fried foods. My husband loves lobster and has had pretty good luck with it. Once it wasn't cooked well enough. We both like the prawns. My husband will eat crab. I dislike the fact you can't get rolls without cheese on them since I'm lactose intolerant. The salads tend to be pretty good and delivered as asked. The desserts are pretty good, my husband and I both like Key Lime Pie. Lunch portions can be too small. Combo portions can be too big. It seems size is always difficult at Red Lobster. Fries portions tend to be small and baked potatoes just average. Service is usually really good with a leisurely pace that's good for fine dining--should be since you're paying well. The bathrooms are always clean and fresh with good supplies. We usually eat at lunch time and it tends to be less busy during those hours. What can I say?
