After watching an interview with the CEO of Red Lobster, I decided to visit the Pineville location for the first time since moving to Charlotte 15 years ago. I placed an order for takeout, which was very easy online. When I arrived, they did have To-go parking spaces but I couldn't find a designated pick up area inside. There was a hostess podium, no hostess. So I entered the dining room to look for a pick up area, there wasn't any. The place was maybe 40% full, but diners were waiting at the bar for items missing from their meals. They were not happy. The vibe was very off. I gave my name and my order was brought out about ten minutes later. Regarding the quality of the food, my wife and her sister enjoyed their meal very much, so that's a plus. Will I return? Yes, probably. But it seems like more improvements need to be made to the product. read more

We went on 8/22/26 Sat at 5 pm. We were celebrating our church members birthday. It was a group of 10. We are seated in the very back. 2 people with us had medical walkers to assist them. I felt the walk was too far for them. It started out with our waitress in the beginning she brought out the biscuits but no drinks a gentleman walked back there and we asked him to get our waitress after 20 minutes had passed. She came back took the drink order and disappeared again. The gentleman we were with walked to the front after 25 minutes had passed she kept making excuses she finally brought our drinks out. In a hurry tried to walk away but she was stopped by our group we told her we were ready to place our order. We had waited patiently by then an hour had passed. She proceeded to take our order. She wrote them down on a napkin??? The gentleman with us asked how long was it gonna take for us to get our food she said I don't know. I'm not the cook after that we waited another hour. still no food was brought to the table. The gentleman that was with us requested the manager the manager. Hope came to the table and said the waitress was extremely busy. She had another big crowd. She made excuses as well. We continue to wait patiently hope said she would get us some fresh biscuits. She walked off we asked again 30 minutes later where was our food? Hope came back to the table and apologize and still no food. We finally left at decided to leave at 8:15. We were never served any food as we were leaving. The waitress all of a sudden said our food was on its way out. We did not leave at the same time during the time we were waiting to leave. No one ever brought any food out to our table. I do not think they had any intentions of serving us. Service was horrible. The tables were sticky and dirty. We went here because they said they were under new management and the service was great. This was a big disappointment. We left and so did another big crowd left. We all were talking and walking out at the same time. They said they never got served either. For some odd strange reason there's a homeless couple living in the parking lot in a green vehicle trash is all around this car, it is an eyesore for customers. I don't see how you guys are allowing homeless people to live at the back of the parking lot. I must say I had concerns going to red lobster we were correct about our concerns. We said we would not go back. We ended up going to Shake Shake the seafood restaurant we had a good turnout. A bad situation turned into a great birthday celebration for our church member. Ted Lobster in Pineville needs new management coaching, teaching training you name it we need an apology. We were never served food. The waitress was getting aggravated because we was wanting to know where was our food and Hope was very nonchalant. This is definitely a training and teaching opportunity. Came to try this place again after considering the health reviews are now finally consistent. Three inspections in a row. We started with 2 drinks - Bahama Mama and pina colada w/strawberry flavor . Had to send the bahama mama back as it was made on the rocks and not the icy blended drink I had in mind. It wasn't good. The bar tender took the drink dumped it in a blender with ice and served it right back to me. Not many of the ingredients were there. No grenadine no top or dark rum on top and definitely not enough rum to taste it was an alcoholic drink. Paid 10 bucks . Bummer. On to The dinner. We started with 2 cups of Clam chowder. We also ordered a CYO Ultimate Feast - with 5 dollar upcharge - to customize the way we wanted it - which was 2 of the Crab-legs along with Walt's Shrimp and Coconut Shrimp. Sides of brussel sprouts and coleslaw. The clam chowder soup was not good. It was awful . It was basically milk with celery and potatoes. There was no clams in it and did I mention it was watery milk like ? OMG . It was not the clam chowder that I was expecting. It wasn't good. I finally had to get up and go find the manager to complain about the milky watery soup as the waitress never came back to check on us. When the dinner was served she dropped it off and left. We had nothing to crack the crabs with and nothing to put shells in . I dumped the biscuit basket and used that. We also ordered an extra pound of crab-legs. So it was a mess . Finally got the waitress to bring a nut cracker that we used as the crab cracker to open the crabs with. No little fork or crab leg opener offered. No lemons. No hand wipes . No extra napkins. We finally got her to come back at the end of the meal when she realized she forgot the side dish that should have been delivered when the food arrived. So there we were sitting with sticky hands and a side dish after the meal was completed. Never did she offer to refill water. It was not a good experience. The waitress was not great. Never cleared our table or offered to refill water. Honestly it was just one series of bad things after another. Our first time back after almost a year waiting and this ... Lesson learned. We spent 100 bucks and trust me we won't Ever do that again. I don't recommend this place. The crab legs were good - but I could have made them myself at home for 40 bucks and gotten a much better deal with all the basic accessories anyone would need to eat them with. Just don't go there. It smells horrible. Like B.O. and masked with cleaner. The Lobster tank was gross. Who wants Lobster from that tank. But let's be serious who really goes here for good lobster. Wow, we had a reservation on Christmas and went for a late lunch. Arrived at 230 for a 245 reservation and left after 5. We waited over and hour and a half for dinner and it was horrible. The meat was hard as a rock on the outside and everything else was soaked in butter. The waitress started to cry.155.00 for a horrible Christmas experience and will never go back.you should not be open if you can't handle the holiday. Lesson learned. Red Lobster are going great things and "WE" have noticed the upgrades and changes and they are welcomed and appreciated. I ordered the margarita flight and 10 out of 10 I do recommend. The seafood boil was in the pricey side but I like that it's an addition to the menu. I can't wait to get back and try the sangria flight!! read more

Don't bother getting a reservation because you're going to have to wait regardless. The workers admitted we were simply forgotten about and we waited 20+ minutes past our reservation. Wish I could give Red Lobster a zero star. Went there today and was a 45 minute wait and when we were seated restaurant was 1/3 full -- not enough wait staff. But besides this, food was not good. Four cheddar biscuits were fair, waitress did not ask if we wanted any more or offer to refill our drinks. The quality of the food was terrible. Had the Admirals feast and honestly could have gotten better in tv frozen dinner. Price was high. Don't waste your money or time when there are better fish restaurants around. read more

We shared the seafood mushrooms appetizer it was a split one love them one thought ok. We shared the seafood platter combo and agreed it was really good and plenty for two. The lobster was perfectly cooked, the crab legs were steamed the fried shrimp were crispy and fresh, the shrimp scampi was perfect. Came for a late lunch on a Saturday. The cheddar bay biscuits are yummy and served hot out of the oven. The crab linguini Alfredo was good but the crab meat was shredded instead of big chunks. The restaurant could use a good cleaning. It's probably not as noticeable at night when it's dark outside but in the daylight you can see the dirt and dust covering the furniture. Well - I thought after the new take over it would be good -- Number One the place needs a re- do or a extreme Cleaning ! Carpet and walls and lights over table were filthy! Service was slow but our Manager had told us he was short servers because of a training class going on. We had a nice server- she was trying. Got our drinks about 25 minutes after we sat down. Only a Ice tea and a soda pop. Waited at least 30 minutes-till the biscuits came out .Then the food 10 minutes later This is the sad part -First was the lunch special - a Lobster flatbread with a bowl of Clam Chowder.about a 4 on a 10 point scale. My order was the Lobster, Salmon and Shrimp with a side of Crab Legs . The Crab legs were not steamed all the way , partly cold and so tiny it had to be a new born Crab! My Lobster or Prawn which it looked like was very tiny and hard to de shell. The Shrimp was so over cooked and I couldnt get it off the skewer. Hard as a rock. The Salmon was obviously reheated - and hard - very disappointing ! The Restaurant was empty - only three tables . I called the manager over and he told us his Hostess quit that morning and he had 5 servers in training and after he heard my complaints he would take the meals off. Had online order for curbside service. No curbside service area is marked at all. When I get here to pick up and the hostess says it'll be a few minutes on biscuits. Now been waiting for 10 minutes along with another lady waiting longer than I have been for the same thing. 1- if you can't deliver curbside. This experience was nothing but unacceptable. I did an online order this past Monday for Lobster and Shrimp special. This is one of the daily specials that is offered on Mondays for 20.00. This entree includes one side, shrimp scampi and 1 lobster tail. When I went to pick up my order there was a young lady who gave excellent customer service. When I reached home I was so excited to eat due to I was working both jobs all day and this was my first meal of the day. Well I was very disappointed in the quality of observation. I discovered the lobster to be pretty much appalling. I know the meal was only 20.00 but I would not give anyone a meal that had looked like this, it would have took every bit of 5 mins to replace I'm sure they're pre cooked and if not it's just providing quality customer service. From the time we walked in until the time we got our food it was well over an hour wait by that time. Just absolutely ridiculous! My son said no lets not go to Red Lobster cuz remember the last time how bad the service was. How quickly I forgot as it had been awhile since I was last there. But will never again frequent this location. No refills ever came for the drinks either. My son's iced tea was empty before the food got there and never offered a refill. Just bizarre that this is the norm now. My oh my what has happened to this place? The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the food wasn't bad. The hostess seeming unclear about what she was doing should have turned us away. We stayed. Red Lobster is a chain restaurant that offers a menu centered around seafood. As most chain restaurants, the food is geared towards being made consistently rather than being prepared to be offered as a fantastic product offering. You can definitely do better than Red Lobster, but you have to give kudos for what Red Lobster has become. Red Lobster will never be the best seafood you can get, but it has created a cult following. People love their biscuits. All in all, they're biscuits. The meals are okay. Done relatively okay, but again, they are meant to be made for consistency across hundreds of locations rather than offering a top quality product by a highly skilled chef. Our server was friendly and professional and the ambiance was decent. Overall, I went because a client suggested that we meet here and I have to say that it was a good enough place. Restaurant looked closed upon arrival but it was open. Seating only in bar area. I had a new waiter who was trying but the food was horrible. My fish looked and tasted as if it had been fried two times. It was warm at best and hard imagine needing a knife to cut a cod filet. The fries were cold and hard and the hush puppies were cold and mushy. Nothing had any taste to it except the Cole slaw, which tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for months. Got all red lobster. A place I have been coming to since I was little. Admittedly I used to go much more when I was little because I couldn't get enough of that lobster tank. I still think it's pretty cool because where else do you get to see one of those where you wait? The service was great when I was here with my group of seven blind/visually impaired people. The hostess Christine even let the more adventurous members of our group touch one of the live lobsters. I have lobster flatbread, which is a classic and it's so good. Been having that since I was little and it hasn't disappointed Me, the rum bomb that is the lobster punch which tastes awesome, and the jambalaya. I don't know if the jambalaya is new or not. I think it is either way. It was really tasty and it was plenty of food. Was the bar a little slow? sure. There was only one bartender working the whole bar and I would've liked it if we didn't have to flag him down because again we were a group of seven blind people and flagging someone down is a Hercules effort. Meanwhile, other tables got theirs. Fish and Chips I ordered was soggy. The texture of mushy peas. Never got a drink refill. The waiter was non existent. Even when we talked to him, he was not listening. Asked for a manager, he was worse than the waiter. We conveyed our displeasure, their response was "What do you want me to do?!" After that response sir, get a new job. Please try something else because you and that waiter aren't cut out for this. Same goes for Red Lobster. The ship is sinking, please just sink to the bottom. First the good: the food was excellent as usual. And Jodie our waiter was awesome. They need 3 or 4 Jodies. Seriously, they need more Jodies - they are chronically shorthanded. Seems like the executives won't pay a living wage cuz it might cut a bit off their fat salaries so they will always be short handed. It will hurt their business. I had not been to RL in years & I saw they we had crab fries & decided to go!!' BIG MISTAKE! We were seated in a timely manner, waiter came right away to take drink orders & bring biscuits. We ordered our food & it took forever to come out!! Even a staff member stated "they are slow as hell in that kitchen" When I received my crabby fries, they were drenched in sauce & cheese with no crabs visible at all! I informed the waiter I was not happy and decided to ask for the Manager. The waiter did info he had more crab coming out. 7/12/25: HORRIBLE experience. Arrived at 9:05 for my 9:15 reservation. Although there were plenty and I mean plenty of empty tables, I was rudely told by the hostess that I'd be seated at 9:15. I waited then went back and was told to wait a minute and then seated. My complete order included an appetizer, water, an alcoholic drink, and my entree and was taken at 9:25. The appetizer came out at 9:40; water at 9:35; drink at 9:50. Entree came out cold at 10:10 immediately after I asked my waiter, Nick why my meal was taking 45 minutes. I was irate at this point because it seemed the plate was just sitting for some time and that is why my food with the exception of the baked potato was cold. I sent the plate back to be remade. Ten minutes later the manager, Dominique came to speak with me and apologize for the waiter forgetting to pick up my order. She then offered me a $10 coupon for a return visit. I laughed. She increased to $20. She next asked if I would like to have a new plate of food. I informed her that I requested one ten minutes earlier and asked why it wasn't started then. No answer given for that. 17 minutes later I receive my hot food. The manager came back after ten minutes and asked how everything was. I told her it was just ok and informed her I'd rather have a discount than coupons as I would never return again. She agreed. By then I really had no appetite and requested to go boxes and the check. The check showed a 20% discount rather than the higher $20 discount that was promised. I requested a correction. The check was corrected, I paid and left. I did not leave a tip because my plate was admittedly left waiting long enough for the food to be cold. Of note, Nick only had three occupied tables in his section and two of those including the table seated after me, had eaten and left before I even received my food. This was the most despicable display I've ever endured at a restaurant. And the lack of regard by the waiter was shocking. I cannot be more disappointed as evidenced by this long, detailed comment. I was excited to try the "new" Red Lobster and saddened by having to give this review. FYI, the biscuits, a Red Lobster staple were also disgusting.
