Fried shrimp, steak and Baked Potato Walt's Favorite Shrimp & 7 oz. Sirloin*

Love the Staunton, VA location. The wait staff are very sweet and kind. I also love that the sun isn't shining in our faces when we sit down to eat. My husband and I come here 1-2 times per month and my favorite is the fish and chips. Their Chesapeake fries are so good. I'd give 5 stars except that the last two times we've order the Brussel sprouts they were fried until black and makes them bitter and inedible! But all in all we love it and will keeping coming back

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Staunton location yesterday. The food and service are always consistently good here. Food/service were always hit /miss at the Charlottesville store and extremely unacceptable at the Lynchburg location. The Staunton store is always good! We had the new Tuesday special.....Snow Crab Legs with crispy potatoes and choice of side. (One pound of crab legs!!). I chose coleslaw and my daughter had broccoli. Our meals were GREAT! We were there around 2:00 in the afternoon. There were quite a few folks there dining and everything seemed peaceful and calm. Wonderful experience!

Nice location, very wonderful staff, and delicious food! This was a planned stop for lunch while traveling and we decided to get our shrimp fix. Our favorite Red Lobster location so far!

Nothing much to write home about, but pricey. The complimentary bread they serve was nice, otherwise just decent food.

The service was EXCELLENT. I swear, our drinks from the bar were at the table before we even ordered them, and they were delicious! The food was pretty good. The kids got penne pasta with marina. It tasted like canned marinara, so I wasn't a fan, but they tore into it! I got the veggie pasta and Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were delicious. The veggie pasta was pretty good, though it could have used an olive oil drizzle. My husband had the bison Burger and liked it. We also got dessert. The peanut butter pie was sooo sweet. The cheesecake was a good cheesecake. I would eat there again.

To the left is a large seating area that I didn't know was there until I went to the restroom. The bar is stunning. We were served by Jennifer. We shared artichoke dip; hubby had the lump crab cake sandwich with a side of coleslaw which he demolished, and I had the Toosday salad--delicious and a huge portion, with fresh pieces of apple, pecan, feta cheese and well prepared grill chicken. Had both the poppyseed and raspberry vinaigrette dressings which complimented the salad. Leftovers for me and no dessert. Great train area as well for train buffs.

Finally, our drinks were taken by the bar tender and before we could get them we were seated. The drinks were never put in or she just flat ignored us. (We both saw her write the order down.) Our server finally had to re order them, we had now been there 22 minutes with no cocktails. Absurd. Anyway, our server Jerrod was great but everything else was subpar. I've made better scallops in my sleep and the presentation was an absolute train wreck, looked like it had been thrown on the floor and then scooped back up. The charcuterie plate was decent and the locally sourced cheeses were great, especially that Brie. But this place is overrated, at best. I can't recommend it for the price. Pretentious, overpriced and quite boring, not to mention unprofessional.

There are so many options in this lovely town but I made a reservation at Zynodoa because I have been on a farm-to-table kick lately. The servers and hosts were all lovely, interacting with both the guests and each other professionally and amicably. My server Sarah gave me as much attention as anyone else, even though I was the only person dining alone. I ordered the tomato and burrata appetizer. I am not a big raw tomato eater but I knew if these were truly farm-to-table, they would taste good, and they did. The flavor felt like a combination of sunshine and a warm hug! The cheese tasted like a sweet kiss. The portion was substantial, and there was balsamic reduction and a generous amount of coarse pesto. I ate the whole thing! For the main course I ordered the flat iron steak. Because I was traveling and didn't want leftovers, I asked the server for a smaller portion than listed, but either I wasn't clear or it wasn't an option--It's okay, though. I ordered the steak medium rare but it was a shade above rare; again, okay. Sides were good but I added salt. The meal was a bit pricey but probably fair given that it was sourced locally. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the chef is heavy handed on the sauces, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. Oh, I ordered the pinot noir and it was good, smooth, balanced. Overall impression of Zynodoa was it felt like visiting the home of a friend with a garden who loves to cook and share with her friends. The portions were generous and the seasoning was substantial. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Staunton.

It's a little dense--and therefore salt heavy--at the edges, but the rest of the steak helps to balance that. The veggies were very good for flavor with a smoked meat flavor in the greens and a really nice flavor I couldn't put my finger on for the green beans. The only reason I would not go 5 stars is that the overall thing especially the veggies was too salty. And I'm a fan of salt. I'd go a little easier when prepping the finished items like that.

There were murals on the wall, and other paraphernalia as well. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she was quick to offer refills as well. The cuisine is specifically Sinaloan Mexican, so it is heavily centered around seafood. There were so many unique entrées that I know we're going to have go back and try more stuff. I ordered a shrimp dish ("Camarones al Gusto") with their Diabla sauce. The sauce was very tasty with a medium level of spiciness and a little tang. My mother ordered their Jalapeño Roll, which was a sushi-styled dish. This is the one negative about our meal: she thought the Jalapeño Roll didn't have enough jalapeños and the flavors weren't strong enough. We split fried ice cream for dessert. They have a wide selection of Mexican beers and tequilas. I ordered a Negra Modelo, followed by a Victoria. All in all, I really liked this restaurant, and I look forward to returning.
