We tried to order drinks but he brought two waters instead of a vodka tonic. We tried to order appetizers and he walked off halfway through us ordering. I ordered the queso dip, says oven roasted green chili & jack cheese. Did have the cheese but short on the chilis. I also orders the green chili burrito. As a whole flavor wasn't too bad, again forgot the chili part. After eating both never did I feel my heat, really sad was looking forward the some Colorado green chili. The wife ordered the prime rib special. All the food came out REALLY quick, like less than 10 minutes. The prime rib looked really good, but the butter that was put on top, never melted. So either the butter was super cold or the prime rib wasn't hot enough. The vegetables were season good, the garlic mashed potatoes tasted pretty good. My husband and I stopped by Red Mountain Grill today and had the most lovely lunch. From the beautiful view from the restaurant to the interesting lighting decorations inside along with a wonderful, charming server named,Connor, and excellent food. My husband ordered the rustic margherita pizza and I ordered the "server favorite" burger and both were exceptional in their own way with the extra detail put into both to make them interesting (dollops of roasted tomato and balsamic vinegar with the basil put on at the end where it stayed fresh on the pizza and fig jam, caramelized onions, blue cheese and more on the burger). read more

So delish! Our 3 children ate everything! We had a wonderful table on their patio. Great menu selection, a bit of everything for everyone. We started off with classic Rocky Mountain oysters. The kids thought that they were eating fried oysters instead of cold ones off the shell. Lol. They still don't know to this day what they really ate but hey, they tried something new and loved it. We ordered two different types of pizzas the classic cheese and the margarita. It was the perfect Wood fire Pizza, the cheese, the tomatoes, the balsamic drizzle and the spinach melt in your mouth, so good, so flavorful. My husband had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, broccoli and corn. I'm kind of mad I didn't order it myself. The mashed potatoes were creamy flavorful, so good.The broccoli had just the right crunch so much flavor as well as the corn. Chicken fried steak everything you would want in one & more! Everything across the board was so good we figured why not try dessert. We had the brownie vanilla ice cream. It was so fun splitting it up for all of us to eat and enjoy. Giving this place two stars is generous, and that's strictly because the happy hour drink specials were acceptable. For context, I'm a professional chef with over 17 years in the industry, having worked as a server, line cook, chef, and restaurant owner. The atmosphere itself is decent. The building is nice, though the tables are a bit small depending on where you're seated. We were greeted and seated without issue--but that's where the positives ended. Prices are high, but it's Summit County, so that's expected. That said, I live in Aspen and have had better food for less. I understand catering to the Vail Resorts crowd, but quality still matters. Before even walking in, we watched one of the cooks step outside near the freezer and take drugs from someone sitting in a car. While this may not shock anyone familiar with the area, it's still not something you want to see before a meal. We chose to ignore it and went inside. My husband ordered the fish and chips ($24), and I ordered the Italian pizza. Starting with the fish and chips: it was terrible. The portion of fish was tiny--smaller than my hand--and poorly cooked, with no seasoning whatsoever. It was bland, ragged, and buried beneath an excessive amount of fries that were both dry and soggy, as if they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. The hush puppies included were equally mediocre. While I understand their Southern origins, fish and chips is a British dish. If you're adding hush puppies to inflate the price, it should be marketed differently. Three hush puppies buried under fries do not justify a $24 plate, especially when the fish itself is subpar. To make matters worse, we weren't given condiments and had to grab a table caddy ourselves from the bar across the room. Both meals arrived in about seven minutes, which strongly suggests they were pre-cooked and reheated rather than made fresh--especially considering one was a pizza and the other a fried fish entrée. As for my pizza, it was fine. Nothing special, nothing awful. For the price and location, it was average, and I won't complain much about it. The biggest issue, however, was the service. The server was pleasant at first, but about 15 minutes into our meal she began pushing us to leave. I still had half a margarita in front of me, and my husband was actively eating with more than half his beer left. Instead of checking in appropriately, she immediately asked if I wanted a box. Anyone with industry experience knows that's not how you approach a table--especially when guests are clearly not finished. It's rude and makes customers feel unwelcome. Fifteen minutes later, after I reluctantly accepted a box, she returned again while my husband was still eating and drinking and asked if we were "all set." At that point, we'd been there for about 30 minutes, spent over $60, and were being rushed out. Meanwhile, the rest of the restaurant was filled with people lingering over drinks during happy hour--some on laptops, some just chatting--most without food at all. Whether this was intentional or just poor service, it reflects a lack of training and care. Burnout is real in this industry, but that doesn't excuse making guests feel unwelcome. If you don't want to do the job properly, find another one. Overall, this is a two-star experience solely because the happy hour drinks are worth it. For food or genuinely good service, go to Dillon Dam across the street--they're cheaper and the food is far better. This restaurant needs a complete overhaul of both kitchen and front-of-house staff, along with serious retraining. You can't charge $25 for mediocre food, provide poor service, and still expect solid tips. Unfortunately, this place exemplifies many of the problems currently plaguing the restaurant industry. read more

The service was good considering there was only one server. It took a bit longer than expected, but the server was very responsive and running her butt off. The ambience was interesting. Not sure if it was originally a Mexican restaurant or something totally different, but truly enjoyed looking around at all the unique lights, tiles and building details. The cleanliness of the restaurant was not the best, I felt like my plate and glasses were barely washed. On top of that, I had a 3-inch hair in my beer, pretty disgusting. My friends ordered the fish and chips and the green chile burger, both items are not hard to make but they each had their problems. The fish fell apart and was bland: it's the simple things that made this place disappointing. As for the green chile burger, the green chiles were draped over the burger patty like a blanket, I thought to ask the waitress if they've ever used a knife since these lily pad-sized green chiles made the burger inedible. Lastly, the ketchup... I'm not sure if they make it themselves because I think they mistook vinegar for apple juice. I thought I was dipping my fries in applesauce, it was inconceivable. We stopped because there were a lot of people at the restaurant, but I understand now that they were probably there for happy hour. I ordered fish & chips & my hubby got chicken tenders. His chicken was ok, but the one piece of cod that was in my basket was 80% fried batter & 20% fish. It was overcooked & tough. The fries were tasty, though. The staff were polite. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. It's always been a pleasant experience, and we often bring out of town visitors. Our recent experience was so awful we won't be back. I ordered fish and chips to go. When I opened the box I found 2 pieces of breaded skin and a breaded fish scale with backbone, all with a few crumbs of flesh. It looked like the scraps from another customers plate (see photo). I called to let them know and ordered a burger to replace the fish. When I arrived back at the restaurant and employee walked up to me who obviously knew why I was back. I expected a profuse apology and an explanation of how they would make it right. I didn't even get a hello. The employee just said "I need to look at the food." After looking at it he asked what I wanted to do. I told him I already ordered a burger. He told me he couldcnot start that until I showed him the food to make sure I wasn't lying. As he observed my stunned look he repeated, a little more forcefully, that he couldn't just order food until he knew I wasn't lying. So I waited for a burger to come out. The same employee came out with the burger, laid it on the table and said 'there you go' as he walked away. I looked at the burger before I left and found a small, square almost raw patty that looked like it had been frozen (see photo). Cost was $24. For me, the mark of a good restaurant is not that they never have issues with a diners experience, but what they do to remedy that. I've had rough dining experiences before where the server and manager bent over backwards to make things right. I become a lifelong customer when that happens. I don't think I've ever had a dining experiences where the employee who I dealt with was smug, unapologetic, and the food I eventually recieved was incredibly subpar to say the least and so very overpriced. What happened to this restaurant? New ownership?'i don't think I want to spend anymore time with it. read more

The space itself is nice but unchanged from the upscale Mexican restaurant that occupied this space 20 years ago. Good Service. It's an OK place to go for happy hour, but skip the rest. Most recently I met a girlfriend here for a quick diner, her advice upon sitting down was "get a salad, that's the only thing they can't screw up". Apparently her husband had a very bad experience with the ribs on a previous visit. I chose the Ahi salad, the tuna was cooked as it should be rare but not blackened as described. However, it tasted fishy. I didn't get sick, I also didn't eat much of it. To their credit, when I complained I was credited 60% off the dish. It was almost like they knew the tuna wasn't fresh enough but served it anyway. I wound up grabbing something fast from City Market across the street on the way home. read more

I went back and forth on this one, 2 stars or 3 stars? At the end of the day, 2 stars is the correct choice. We got to our table and was told it would take a bit for us to get water as there were no clean glasses and they had to wash the glasses from the previous customers sitting at our table. Even the cheese was a cold, tiny portion that was fine after dipping 3 soggy tater tots in them. Not worth $12 let alone $5. Moving on to our entrées, I ordered the pork belly and at first glance it looked exciting. Normally when a skillet comes out, I expect it to be hot but this skillet I could handle as it was barely warmed up. For the Pork Belly itself, I'm no Gordon Ramsey but I can tell overcooked, dry meat when I eat it. The skin on pork belly is typically the best part in my opinion but this was just a plain disappointment. The skin was chewy and we ended up not even eating a good portion of the meal.
