I live nearby and used to get pizza from this place like once a week. The pizza is good. Once or twice it's been a little bit under cooked but I really can't complain about the taste. If the pizza wasn't so good and I hadn't had so many other positive experiences I would have given fewer stars. My complaint is that out of the last 6 or 7 times I've ordered from them (over a period of about 5 months, I've cut back on how often I go here and you'll see why) there's been something seriously wrong with my order and I've had to wait to either get a new pizza or even to get my online order started because they didn't see it. And every single time the staff has apologized profusely but never once offered any kind of discount or anything. I have had red pepper a couple of times. the most recent time I had a large pep, tomato, and bacon. The pizza is good but it's cut into small pieces. Also order buffalo wings with mild sauce and they were decent but not great. One thing about pizza in SL is that it is over priced. Red pepper is no different. Yes Blue Bird included. They have a medium carry out special for $7.99 which I guess is their answer to Little Caesars $6.99 carry out. We've tried almost every pizza on their menu and they always arrive with a perfectly crispy crust and each has been delicious. Love the Chicken on the green and rosemary chicken pizzas along with the Hawaiian. A perfect go-to for the nights where we don't feel like cooking and just want a quick and tasty meal. I ordered a large pepperoni was told about 45 min they actually came a little sooner. I opened the box the pizza looked decent just wished they would have put more pepperonis. Today was my first experience with this pizzeria. I was hungry amd too lazy to drive, so we ordered delivery. Order took about an hour and we're literally less than a mile away lol, no biggie. Delivery guy was nice, food arrived hot and clean. Food: Chef salad, says it serves 2-3. We're big salad eaters and we consider it for one lol. Blue cheese dressing tasted like ranch, probably was a mix up. If not, just steer clear of it. Salad was tastless, dry and not fresh at all Calzone was ordered with pepp, sausage and pesto. The crust is very grainy, not a bad thing but I prefer mine with a little crisp and saltiness. Red Pepper is our go-to pizza place on those days where we really are feeling lazy on a Sunday evening after a long weekend with too much excitement, and cheat on our diets by having a real solid American pizza delivered to our door. It's way better than any of the chain pizza places. It's no Pizzaiolo, or Arizmendi, but those places have formally trained chefs making pizza creations that are awesome but aren't things you crave on a lazy Sunday. At Red Pepper we're talking greasy pepperoni and sausage with red sauce, not red potatoes, toasted shallots, and sautéed leeks. Of the nearby chains, I would say its pizza is most similar to Round Table, but it's its own thing. Best part is they always have deals, deliver super fast, and the delivery guy is always genuinely appreciative when I give him a modest tip. Pizza is exactly what you hope for, prices are right, delivery time is faster than average, and staff are easygoing. I have never eaten there but have done delivery 20-30 times. Absolutely the worst pizza I ever had!! I ordered 7 pizzas for my son's birthday party at the Oakland zoo. I ordered it over the phone and the guy was hard to understand but very personable. He assured me that he would deliver the pizza on time and my order would be correct. The delivery guys came a few minutes earlier than the scheduled 2pm order. Awesome delivery time! They were super sweet and I was really relieved I didn't have to worry about the food for my son's party. When I opened the pizza boxes to start serving the food I was shocked that the pizza was thin crust (as you can see in the picture) instead of thick crust. I told the guy over the phone that I wanted thick crust at least 3 or 4 times. I made all the kids plates and I noticed my nephew spitting out his pizza after the initial taste. He is only 4 years old and he said, "This pizza is stale!" I was horrified so I got a slice and it was hard as rock. Nothing on that pizza was soft. It taste like day old pizza that they warmed up. I had to have my mom rush to a local restaurant and get some wings because no one wanted to eat the pizza. I called to complain and they said they will "call me back". I.. Think I might throw up while writing this review. I ordered from Purple Pepper Pizza about four hours ago and it took them 2 1/2 to arrive to me. Once I got my pizza I was at first confused by the fact that I can't smell it and once I had opened the pizza it came to my attention that it was already cold. I called them up and asked why the heck it was cold and they told me 'we're busy, some pizzas just get messed up' then he hung up on me. Guy sounded like he was smoking dope in the back (I have no problem with marijuana, I smoke) which bothered me because he was inconsiderate, rude and just... Useless to our society in my opinion. Well, I decided what the hell, I paid for it anyway. I threw a couple slices in the microwave (something you shouldn't have to do with fresh pizza) and when they came out it smelled terrible, like, all the ingredients for a pizza were placed in a too-small-to-fit-can and then left to rot. The dough I thought was either gonna break a tooth or cut my gums. It tasted like someone cooked these toppings on a frying pan tat hasn't been cleaned in months and still has crusts, stains and other crap caked on it from months ago. It tasted so artificial and rotted that when I called them back to really complain I get a different guy who tells me "Well, I guess we can give you a can soda or something if you wanna come get it?" Like what kind of bullshit cop out is that? This place was terrible, so terrible in fact that I started to consider hiring someone to burn it down (with the employees inside because lets face it, any place these employees work at will go straight down hill.)
