This has been my go to spot for poke bowls until this order. I normally ordered right on the spot and picked the medium bowl with two proteins and were able to pick up my order within 10 minutes or so. Today I decided to order online- bad decision I made. So when I selected the medium bowl as usual, I am allowed to choose two protein. I selected tuna and salmon, and as I scrolled down the page while I was ordering the toppings, I saw the option of adding the truffle scallops. I added the scallops because last time when I ordered at the restaurant I had the same thing. But then at the end when I had my poke bowl, i immediately noticed that my poke bowl had NO salmon at all! I didn't realized the scallop that I added to the bowl was considered as the second protein, because the scallops cost an additional two dollars! I was under the impression that bc of this additional two dollars, scallops is considered a "add on" , just like the additional protein we added at the end of the order. This is VERY misleading- and so I wasn't expecting my poke bowl didn't come with the salmon. Plus,y poke bowl had absolutely no sauce AT ALL! We were interested in this concept of having a Korean style poke! We had the shrimp and salmon as our main proteins with noodles. The toppings were great. I was impressed at the different proteins they had and it was tasty. The shrimps were a decent size. It is not very common to have the option of salmon. The ordering process was quite easy. They were helpful with our questions. We marked what we wanted on an erasable menu. This helps a slow down of crowding by the counter. They also had a lemon water cup station if you didn't want to order a bottled beverage. The inside isn't the best place to eat. There doesn't seem to be much room honestly so I definitely recommend walking a few blocks to find some Publix outdoor seating if it does get too crowded. read more

So I made my own bowl and the person helping was quite nice. They give you a menu and with a marker you mark what you want. The person at the counter was very helpful and patient. I was starving after the bus ride from Boston and red poke was the closest spot to port authority! I walked over and decided to go with the classic - red poke. Service was fast and the bowl was in my hands in a few min. Maybe I'm spoiled with Boston portions but this was VERY small. Red Poke is my favorite poke place, as someone who's allergic to fish the number of non-fish options here is amazing! I can usually only order shrimp lol. It's probably not the most "authentic" poke place you can go to, since it's more Korean inspired, but delicious all the same. I always get the medium 2 protein Create Your Own Bowl ($11.85), and I've tried all the non-fish options except tofu now, and I'd rank them: 1. Bulgogi Beef 2. Shrimp (although there aren't too many pieces) 3. Smoked Pork Belly (fall special) 4. Spicy Pork 5. Chicken I love that they have japchae as a base, I always get half super greens and half warm japchae which is delicious! They're open again! With the start of COVID-19, Red Poke closed their stores for a couple of weeks.. but they're and back better than ever! They have two store entrance but only the one on the corner is opened with a cute set up by the matcha bar. I walked in without pre-ordering (rookie move I know) but I was still able to use the usual dry-erase marker/menu. They sanitize the menus after each use and they keep it under a sanitizing lamp. If you're STILL not comfortable using the marker option, you can also just order verbally (I always loved to use their dry-erase option Bc I literally get all the add ins lol). I really appreciate their hard work to keep the business going while also keeping their customers safe! Their add-in menu changed as they usually do with each season. Dressings (I usually stick with the gochujang) and bases (I usually get a mix of greens and black rice) are still the usual options. I visit Red Poke frequently. I believe this location to be one of the best poke spots in NYC. It has a few tables inside, I assume it is mostly geared towards take out. There is a drink selection available alongside free water being readily available. Prices are very reasonable. Ordering is performed through the submission of laminated menu sheet to the cashier: one side is a selection of signature poke bowl and the other side allows for you to create your own custom bowl. Awesome poke bowls in the two times I've visited this establishment. As we continue with take outs only here in NYC, Poke bowls have become a really great take out food for me. Honestly as long as the quality of the fish is great and fresh its really tastes great. Red Poke hasn't let me down yet in the take out orders I've got here. Since they're right on 9th ave and very close to Port Authority its a great way to get take out lunches for me on the way back home. When I order through Doordash or Seamless they have it done maybe in 5-10 minutes well below the original estimated times. Both the Tuna and Ahi Tune has tasted quite delicious and I really quite like their sauce as well. I've gotten the black rice options every time definitely would be my recommendation here Honestly they run this store quite well and the staff are always quite friendly when I come to pick up my order. I see they have a sanitized marker and menu if you need to order directly with them. The portion size is quite nice for the price its quite generous. I mean, it's just a mistake, but i think good customer service would be to say something like oh, i'm so sorry, let us fix it and credit you or something. but not that. i decided i didn't want to wait. That's when i got huge attitude, it's just going to take 2 minutes, sit down sir. Now i'm annoyed, i said let me just take the other bowl but i think you should credit me. I didn't expect to find a poke place that I love in NYC but I'm beyond pleasantly surprised by Red Poke! This has easily become one of my new favorite spots for a satisfying and customizable healthy fresh meal. This place is super unique for the fact that they offer both raw fish and Korean meat such as bulgogi and spicy pork and other grilled protein! The fact that you can mix and match bulgogi and raw tuna here is something that I've never found at another poke place ever in my life before, which is saying a lot considering I've had a LOT of poke in my lifetime. As someone who loves both poke and korean food, this was very enticing to me and right up my alley. I built my own medium bowl using their markable menu in the store. They give you a pen where you can select different options for your base, protein, and toppings! Everything is so customizable and you can easily create an order that adheres to your dietary preferences and tastes. I was very happy with my bowl and I thought the meat and fish quality were both solid! The guy at the counter even gave me extra toppings and seaweed salad when I requested it. The portion size is very generous for the $12 price point as well. Everything was flavorful from the sauce and I was genuinely pleased with the entire experience!
