I live in Upton so I have been to Red Rock a few times. The food is very good...the mac and cheese is really rich and cheesy, the french fries are awesome and the burgers are great. I really have a problem with the service though. I see some people on here have had good service but I am not one of them. The first time I came here our waitress stumbled through the specials and didn't let us look at the menu before asking what we wanted. We asked for a few more minutes and she was back in less than a minute. She seemed very rushed and never refilled my water glass or came back to ask if our food was ok. The same thing happened tonight. I came in to have a relaxed birthday dinner for my mom with my sister. I was not expecting anything fancy (it is Upton after all), but the service was awful. I would like to say though, that our waiter was VERY nice. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy, but a crappy waiter. He was also really rushed..it was not busy at all but our food took forever to arrive, maybe because he was taking every table's orders within seconds of them sitting down and the kitchen couldn't catch up. Im not sure what the problem was, but anyway he made very basic mistakes that made me feel like he wasn't adequately trained. He never refilled our popcorn bowl, he refilled my water once (even though it was over 100 degrees outside) and when he did, he took it by putting his hands all over the top of the glass and bringing it back into the kitchen to refill it which was really gross. When my mom asked about whether she could get the sauce on the side of a dish, he scoffed and said it wouldn't be worth it since you need the sauce on the dish for it to be good. After about 25 minutes we got our food, and put the food down and left without saying anything. My sister had to wave him down to get ketchup and again, he put the ketchup down and immediately left. After that, he never came back to ask how everything was. When he brought our dessert he literally threw the spoons on the table which was not cleared, making the spoons dirty. I will be trying Red Rock again and hopefully can amend this post with more a positive review, but as of right now I would give the food 5 stars and the service 1 star. read more

Surprisingly good place that doesn't look like much from the outside. Instead of a roadhouse, it's got a nicely (but not self-conciously) upscale interior with a bar area, dining room, and outdoor deck. Brunch is good and inexpensive. Creative but again, in no way over-reaching -- they hit the mark perfectly. It's really nice to find a place that serves "American (New)" according to Yelp's description and have it be true...and good. The server forgot our appetizer but we didn't remind him because the main dishes came out quickly and they were huge. Server was friendly and attentive. Not a lot of places to eat around here. Would definitely try again and consider bumping to 5 stars. read more

Awesome I love it but... Last summer they had the best salmon dish ever with the black beans and corn salsa and sour cream drizzle over polenta... Then this past winter I had an eggplant salmon dish and I didn't care for it at all. I want that awesome salmon dish back. Drinks are awesome. Meatballs and chicken pot pie selling rolls are yummy. Some very interesting and unique dishes and the accommodating paleo on thurs nights is super cool for people into that diet whether my thing or not. Very friendly wait staff and great food. I got the butternut squash risotto and it was so good! We also got a bottle of the Knockout red wine. It was delicious. And as a bonus they will let you take home the wine that you don't finish! I will definitely be coming back again. read more

I have to review for breakfast and lunch, although I can't wait, I haven't tried dinner yet. Lunch. Wow, I had a sandwich that I have dreamed about since then- it was that good! Also, I didn't want fries with my sandwich, I was in the mood for fruit, but they didn't offer fruit with lunch, but the accommodated me anyways! The waitress talked to the chef and I ended up with an incredible fruit salad with my unforgettable sandwich. Today, I returned to Red Rock to try out the Sunday Brunch. Fantastic. This place is a little out of our way, but we will be back for breakfast- soon!! I love Eggs Benedict so that is usually what I get at a new place, it passed the test I could taste the freshness in the ingredients and I appreciated that they served it as two open faced sandwiches instead of one massive one. Usually I don't love home fries, I just am not that into fried potatoes but these were a pleasant surprise, they had great flavor and wee sauteed rather than fried, with onions- yum! My husband tried the Fowl Hash, intrigued by the name and ingredients, and was really happy with his order. They were able to substitute the poached eggs for scrambled, and the hash itself was really flavorful and tasty... the portions were generous so we both were full with a bit leftover. They also have a bloody mary bar and had some exciting specials of the day, including a cranky pants coffee with amaretto and bailey's in it... they are definitely doing brunch the right way. They menu had a lot of great options. For both my lunch and brunch experiences the flavors were wonderful, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a creative chef. This place is FABULOUS. The location is a little unknown but the food is great and the service is good too. I've been here a couple times with some friends and I've never had a bad experience. They have a cute little ice cream place next door and it's right near the water where people rent kayaks (I've never done it) but I've seen it. They have a garden out back and outdoor seating with these cute lights that I adore. Their alcohol is served in mason jars and you get warm freshly popped popcorn while you wait for your food, divine! The parking can be a little scarce and be prepared to wait if it's a weekend. It's really reasonably priced and the decor has a homey/ but upscale vibe. Their lobster mac and cheese is EVERYTHING. Definitely try it. read more

Came in for lunch the other day for the first time. Ordered the beer special (some type of scotch ale). It tasted a bit flat so I looked at the label and it had a drink by date of over a year ago. When asked how it was, I said kind of flat and the beer was expired. "oh". Never offered to take it off the check or get me something else. Strange no? It took three tries to finally eat here. The first time we waited 15 minutes before they told us the kitchen was closing. The next try there was over an hour wait. Finally on the third attempt we were able to get a table outside. I was really looking forward to a good outdoor experience. More on that later. I ordered the chicken pot pie roll app. Pretty darn amazing. My GF ordered a homemade soup. It was excellent. The fresh spices from their garden were impressive. For dinner my GF ordered nachos. Another excellent choice. We wish we could figure out the spices used. I ordered swordfish. It was blah. The fish was dry and grilled plain. It however was topped with an awesome watermelon salsa. It would have been much better had it been marinated in the topping. As for the outside experience. That cost them a star (should be two). As another reviewer stated it was a little dirty. We overlooked two portable potties from the deck and overall the area and the atmosphere just didn't feel right. We keep recalling our view 1-800-toilets (if you ever need to rent one). In the end I'd return for apps and a drink but would eat inside with the hopes it's a nicer experience. read more

Went for lunch with my husband after a doctor appt. The restaurant is small but seating is not tight. The hostess is the owner (very nice) and the not waiter is extremely personable. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday and the waiter was excellent. He was timely, funny, and had all the right answers. The food was amazing; hubby had the black bean burger and I had the turkey blt club. Each sandwich came with a small salad and fries - we got sweet potato fries for an up charge. We were not disappointed with anything. To top it off, we ordered double chocolate chip brownie with ice cream. It wasn't hard to finish. read more

Had a great dinner a few weeks back with my mom, it was amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine (The Omen I believe, highly recommended red) which is surprisingly affordable given its rather expensive even at the discount liquor stores. The meal was one of the best I have had, my moms squash salad had added chicken (which is clearly grilled to order, juice and above standard) I had the steak special. Both cooked perfectly, fresh and extremely flavorful. We had the brie for an app, sensational! Awesome environment, staff and meal. Really good food. We had the Chicken pot pie egg rolls, which were FANTASTIC and the lobster macaroni and cheese. It was delicious as well, but I wish there were bigger chunks of lobster. Wait staff was very friendly and knew the food well. There was no wait on a Friday night at 6:30 pm. The only issue that I have with the grill is that it is EXTREMELY loud in the restaurant. It is difficult to have any type of conversation. Overall, it was a great experience. They have things on the menu that you don't see at other restaurants. We will definitely be back! read more

One of my favorite places... All of the food I have ever ordered has been wonderful. Love the Lobster Mac and Cheese! Breakfast on Sundays is nothing short of heaven! The fowl hash is awesome, and as I've become accustom to here everything I have ever been served has been seasoned to perfection. The specials are what I look forward to as they usually have some great items to choose from. What a bonus they use their garden as a source of fresh ingredients! Only real con is how cramped the parking is, and the bar area is pretty small as well. A small price to pay for excellent service and a wonderfully friendly bunch of regulars. I absolutely love their burger, and find myself ordering that more often than not. But, my wife orders something different every time we visit, and she has yet to be disappointed. My girlfriend and I dined here last night. It was our third time here in as many weeks. The food is very good. We both made a point of not ordering the same dish twice so as to experience a wider variety of Their offerings( it's not a large menu by most of today's standards). They offer fantastic drink specials and have a fairly eclectic beer and wine list. The service is exceptional. The servers seem to be well versed in their knowledge of the menu. You get the feeling that they enjoy working there and it shows in the way they treat their guests. We sat outside, and if you enjoy dining outdoors. They have a very comfortable patio. My husband and I and our daughter's family came here Thursday night for dinner. My daughter and I had the Paleo Pasta which was absolutely amazing. My husband had the delicious Artic Char fish. Our grandsons had burgers and lobster roll and my son in law had the wonderful brick oven pizza. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately I forgot my purse on the back of the chair. We were one of the last 3 tables occupied when we left. They called my daughter who frequents this restaurant and said I left my pocketbook there. She picked it up for me. I usually don't have much money in it but this night I did. I was so grateful to the staff there for making sure it was safe. Everything was in its place money and all. I am so appreciative to the wonderful staff there. Besides the fantastic food and service the staff are hard working and honest. Thank you we will be back and I hope others will come and enjoy your fabulous food especially in these hard times. Your tables are far apart and it's a pleasant outside dining experience. We love red rock. Have been for brunch, lunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed. The only complaint I have is that it is small and there is almost always a wait as a result but the wait is always worth it!! Buffalo chicken dip is a must and their specials are always a treat. read more

The only slight negative comment would be it's one large room so it does get loud on weekends as tables are close together. Not a huge deal.
