This was hard to rate. If I eat there, I end up with an unhappy stomach all night. If my husband eats there? He likes it and has no problem. I have a gluten allergy and am guessing they don't cater to that very well, but not sure. The staff is friendly and wonderful and it's a great family dining experience. Nice spot to catch up with some work friends. Had a decent beer selection, i got a chicken Caesar salad , the portion was pretty big but perfect. My daughter and I wanted to try a new place within 30 minutes of our house. I found Red Rock on Yelp, and we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We sat on the back patio, had great service, and the food was outstanding. My IPA was nice and cold on a hot day. Good-sized portions and, honestly, underpriced. I got the turkey sandwich after our server said it was his "favorite sandwich in the world," and my daughter got the eggplant sandwich. They each came with a side of greens and our waiter said one side of fries would be good for the two of us. The fries were cooked perfectly. I wish I had room for the bread pudding. I really wasn't expecting much based on it's location--alone on route 140--but don't let it's location turn you away. I'll be back soon! read more

Met my bestie for brunch here this past Sunday. And as usual they were miles from disappointment. I made a reservation just in case but we were headed there for 1:30 so I wasn't really planning on needing them. When i got there you have to go out back to the patio to check in with the hostess. I was pleasantly greeted and was told that they had book the reservation for inside and would that be ok. Fine by me, it's sweltering due to. A heatwave coming through. We had a table in the corner which was perfectly fine for me it was just going to be two of us. The waitress was prompt to come over for drinks and I ordered the watermelon lemonade mimosas. It was delicious. My bestie got the Rocktail Martini I think it was called. It looked delish. I wish I had tried it. For brunch I got the Breakfast Poutine. To be honest, all I read was poutine and it didn't matter what was in it. I was getting it. So the description said sweet potato fries, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese curds, stout gravy and garlic herb aioli. I felt like a Hoover eating it. It was so delicious. The garlic aioli made the whole dish and i should have asked for more on the side. I didn't think I was going to eat the whole thing because it was such a big dish but don't tell my cardiologist, I ate the whole damned thing. And there are no regrets. It tends to be very loud in the bar and restaurant area. Sometimes you cannot hear the other person sitting directly across from you. The dishwashing machine sits at the back hallway which leads into the bar so as they are loading and unloading dishes you can very clearly hear that in the bar area. If the restaurant or bar are crowded, then expect it to be loud. The room echoes. People with sound sensory issues should avoid going here. The mixed drinks are small, loaded with ice and expensive. If you are a regular or local, they do play favorites and their drinks arrive in large glasses rather than the smaller sized ones given to other customers. I ordered 2 different drinks (margherita and sangria) and both were weak, filled with too much ice. For appetizers, the 3 small thanksgiving potluck rolls arrived with one crushed and greasy. For the main course, my salmon piece was very small. It is a local favorite and you are not supposed to say anything bad about this place or you'll be run out of town. However, I feel that Red Rock should earn business and not be let off the hook simply because they've been institutionalized by the locals who get the larger drinks. read more

Since 2011, my friends & I have always had positive experiences (food & service) at this bar & grill UNTIL last night- Friday, 10/6/23 between 5-6:30pm. As an aside, the restaurant had open tables and I did not see a wait. A GEN Z waitress was training a GEN X waitress at our table. My friend & I are late stage baby boomers. The GEN X waitress did great on her own and was only hampered by the GEN Z waitress's LACK OF professionalism. My friend and I both ordered the pasta and fish specials for the day which were both delicious (4.5 stars). That's where the positives for the meal end. The GEN Z waitress asked my friend, "Can I take your plate or would you like to lick it clean?" My friend's response, "Aren't you fresh!" I was stunned, as I was still eating my meal and had a glass of wine to finish. At this point, I was asked if I wanted a box- I said no, I'm still eating. My friend ordered a cup of de-cafe coffee which was cold and tasteless. A box was delivered to our table for my remaining meal. We were asked if we wanted dessert, coffee ?....at which point my friend mentioned the de-cafe coffee issue. GEN Z waitress response, it was made about 15 minutes ago and offered another cup. My friend said no AND I responded to Gen Z waitress question, with a NO- just the check. We would have entertained another drink, dessert and coffee but it was obvious the Gen Z waitress wanted the table to turn over. Why? We left-EACH spending $36 including a 20% tip for hopefully ONLY the GEN X waitress! we complimented the GEN X waitress as we left. Not in hurry to return.... read more

My Mom and I typically meet at a halfway point from her house and mine in Rhode Island for birthdays, etc. I found the Red Rock and it far exceeded my expectations! I can easily say that the fish tacos that I got were probably the best I've ever had. So much flavor, slaw was crunchy and the tortilla strips added a nice touch. What a great little find in the middle of nowhere! And the prices are great too. The place gets packed - and their dining room really isn't that big. When we got there the table wasn't big enough for all 7 of us and a baby - not to worry our waiter whipped another table out of nowhere. Their menu has a good variety of items ranging from chicken pot pie spring rolls with gravy dipping sauce to burgers to meatloaf to grilled salmon. I couldn't choose between the beer and jalapeno roasted pot roast and the meatloaf - when I told the waiter this he said he would surprise me. I ended up with the pot roast and loved it - it was better than home cooked - the only thing I wished is it that it maybe came with carrots or more veggies. Everyone I was with loved their meals ... as if you couldn't tell by all the empty plates. Our waiter was great and very helpful. The only negative to the night was him trying to rush us when we were done. We were getting together after not seeing each other for a while and wanted to hang, chat and hold the cute baby... he was clearing our water glasses before we were even finished with them. The parking lot is tiny. They do a brunch on Sunday - heard it is really good and will definitely be back to try it. They also have live music on Saturday nights. I am GF and they made sure my meal was safe for me. I had the rosemary chicken (GF) and my husband had the meatloaf (not GF) and we both enjoyed our meal! We just moved to the area from the city and tried this place twice. The staff is wonderful, the patio is great, the cocktails are good but the food was meh... The first time we came for lunch. It was basic generic food. Nothing to write home about but nothing horrible. We decided to try this place one more time. We were there for brunch this past sunday and both got Eggs Benny. Both of our english muffins were completely raw and the eggs were broken open. I asked about Sam Adams Winter Lager, but they didn't have it. An alternative was recommended which I accepted and it was great. We both ordered burgers. I got the buffalo burger which was awesome. Here is the thing...the burger almost melts in your mouth. So soft and flavorful. Perfectly toasted roll. The cheese was delicious. Just the right amount of hot sauce. And the onion and greens were wonderful too. The seasoned fries were good. Personally I'm a fan of thicker cut fries. But that's just a personal preference. I could have eaten a few more though. So disappointed Made a reservation in advance, noted it was a special occasion for a 50th wedding anniversary. Got there and the table that was offered was in the volley ball court in beach sand at a picnic table with low seating picnic benches. We had two seniors with us and a baby. I didn't feel that the seating would be safe for my parents and did not feel comfortable putting a baby in a high chair on beach sand. I was given attitude by the manager and told anything else would be a " really long" wait. We live in Upton and have eaten here many times before.
