We came to Red Rocks during restaurant week and we were very impressed with the food. We actually sat at the bar because we arrived early for our reservation and they weren't able to seat us. I started with the she crab soup which was creamy and delicious. I also had the shrimp cocktail which wasn't very impressive. It was just four small shrimp on a plate with lemon and cocktail sauce. Nothing special. The lobster ravioli was amazing! I was able to take some home with me and eat it the next day. Their prices are a little spendy for me so I'd probably only go back during restaurant week or for a special occasion. If you're looking for a nice date night or to celebrate something special I feel like Red Rocks would be a great place. I've also enjoyed their crab cake sandwich on a different visit and it was amazing as well. It had large chunks of crab meat without much filler. read more

Last night was our second visit here. It's disappointing when you bring friends to a restaurant that you found to be exceptionally good when you were here before, and it let's you down. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, which turned out not to be the one that we had thoroughly enjoyed the our last time. This was my fault for Not reading the description closely enough. We ordered the she crab soup, which is one of our favorites. Unfortunately, it wasn't hot when we got it. We ordered a wedge salad, with extra dressing on the side. The salad was served, minus the extra dressing, and The waitress was nowhere to be found. She apologized and said that she was attending to other tables in other areas of the restaurant. First time customer! Went for a company holiday dinner and we got sat in a cozy area just for us! Happy they gave us the privacy. I didn't take too many photos of the food because it would be unprofessional but I think the apps were decent! I like their tuna and avocado app. Very creamy. I visited recently with my 89yo friend. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were treated with kindness. A young man and woman greeted us and asked us where we would like to sit. My friend wanted to sit outside on the covered patio bc it was warmer. She has a walker so it took us some time to get out there but the host was patient and attentive, clearing the way and holding open doors. We were seated and were waiting for our server when I realized it was just too stifling hot outside for me. We went back inside and found the host and apologized and explained. He was very kind and quickly found us a comfy table inside. After we were seated a server, John, approached us and said he saw us come in and was moved by my elderly friend's presence and determination. She was flattered. Soon after our main server Austin greeted us. He was extremely attentive. A+ service experience. We ordered the burger with coleslaw and the Hendricks chicken salad plate w/ mixed fruit. Everything was great. Burger cooked medium and was juicy and pink inside just how she likes it. I had a ton of fresh fruit - cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, watermelon, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. All of it fresh. The chicken salad was simple but good and plentiful. We finished up and heard thunder. We salted Austin if we could have our check quickly to get to the car before the rain came bc my friend is slow to move with her walker. He happily accommodated us and showed us a shortcut to get outside, via the porch. When we got to the porch it began to downpour. We decided to wait it out. We were approached by the manager and then the host and the our server, all separately asking us if they could get some umbrellas and walk us out to the car. So kind! We wanted to wait until it slowed down. While we waited we chatted with an other guest. The rain slowed down and I made a run for it to the car to pull up by the curb. As I did, the guest was walking my friend out with umbrellas over her and helped her into our car. I thanked him profusely. It sounds silly but this experience from beginning to end restored our faith in humanity. The genuine kindness of so many strangers. I had a great experience here with friends. The food, service and ambiance was stellar. The restaurant is on the smaller side which makes it cozy. There seems to be a good bar following and I can see why. Their drinks are well made and creative! I tried several of their holiday drink specials, and they were all on point. I was with a larger group and we all ordered different items. Nobody had a problem with anything that they ordered. Stopped in here after some holiday shopping, and once again, we were escorted to the private room...which I normally hate, but don't mind at all during the pandemic. And Yes, this restaurant practices mask wearing and social distanced seating. I noticed that they even offer free masks! This time, I tried the Jambalaya...and sadly, it just wasn't my type. Let me explain. I get that some Jambalaya are soupier than others, so I actually asked the waitress just how "soupy". She said just a tad...that there's some brothiness on the bottom. By that, I didn't think it would be TOO soupy, so went ahead and ordered it. Turned out to be full-on soupy...the dish was heavily broth. Guess I prefer a heavier rice and meat ratio. Also didn't love the chunky tomatoes in it. The sauce was pretty good though. Thankfully, my bud ordered the Sesame Tuna, and loved it. I still think highly of this restaurant's overall quality and service. Guess I just ordered the wrong item for my taste. Luckily, there are more items on the menu that I'd still like to try, so am sure we'll be back again. read more

A couple of friends and I visited Red Rocks during Queen's Feast. We arrived a little early for our 7:00 o'clock reservation. The area by the hostess stand was very crowded. I wasn't sure if this was typical for a Friday night or due Queen's Feast. After waiting a few moments, we were taken to our table. Our server was friendly but he appeared tired and was kinda rushing us along. I say that because after selecting our drinks we ordered appetizers, not part of Queen's Feast, he mumbled "oh so we're doing that." It was unsettling but not enough to impact our evening. We ordered the Frosted Cosmo. It was very delicious. Unfortunately, I think it's a seasonal cocktail. But worthy of being on the menu all the time! Our food was very good. Our appetizers were the Spinach Queso dip and Buffalo shrimp. The Spinach dip was very good. My friends said the shrimp were very good. Since I'm allergic, I did not try them. For Queen's Feast, I had the Caesar salad, the Filet medallions, and the brownie. My food was flavorful and well seasoned except the broccoli which was barely steamed. The dessert was just a brownie nothing special. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I would visit again. read more

Never a bad meal at Red Rocks! Decided to do a mid week date night here and really enjoyed our dining experience! Our waiter was nice and knowledgeable of specials, catch of the day and drinks. We went on a Saturday morning at 11 with a party of 4, celebrating a friend's move out of state. There were 6 other diners in the entire restaurant, which was our first clue. I ordered the breaded chicken in lemon wine sauce with garlic potatoes and fresh vegetables. It was AWFUL. The 2 chicken medallions (the size and shape of crab cakes) were clearly precooked and had been meant to be dipped in a flour batter to be fried before serving. They weren't even slightly beige. I scraped the flour mush off and found the chicken underneath to be bone dry and totally flavorless. The potatoes were pretty good but had turned to liquid under all that sauce. The veggies were a mix of julienned and rough-cut unseasoned boiled zucchini. Both veggies and sauce were room temperature. My husband's chicken Marsala was one little piece of plain chicken swimming in a bowl of sauce over more liquidy potatoes. My son ordered a chicken caprese sandwich which was simply a folded pita, with precooked unseasoned chicken strips, a single slice of mozzarella and nothing else. No tomatoes, basil....nothing. We left hungry after spending $80 and went to get a burger next door. read more

This was my second time to Red Rocks and I enjoyed myself. To be honest, the pricing is a bit much for what you get, but the food is pretty decent. A lot of reviews mentioned the food quality and flavor was pretty poor but I disagree. I ordered a wine and the lemon herb chicken and thought the chicken was cooked well and had pretty decent flavor. Plus, they have a pretty large wine selection. They presented the flounder crab special which I ordered. The fish dish came and it Jiggled! Please tell me it's not laced with cornstarch! Honestly, I sent it back to be heated then I scraped off that gel looking sauce. Why would you put cornstarch on fresh fish at all? Lemon, white wine, garlic, butter a tiny bit of extra Virgin olive oil, fresh dill or parsley is the best on fish. Please.."don't do it" cornstarch is hard on the digestive system. read more

So I saw the menu online and have should have known. Most restaurants with extensive menus don't do any one thing particularly well, but chose it because I was going out with people I'm not that familiar with. I figured pasta would be the safest bet, but the proportions were all out of whack. There were six raviolis and then a ton of poorly seasoned, overcooked greens and tomatoes. It all seemed sort of dated but I noticed it was mostly an older crowd so the menu might be targeted towards them. I think my dining companions liked their food well enough but I'm more of a foodie. We each got a dessert (only two shown) and no one was impressed. All overly sweet, dense and way too rich. Basically, the food might be decent depending on what you get but I'd skip the desserts. read more

Loved the gravy that came with the Chicken & Waffles, great touch. However, the waffles were wayyy to sweet. I didn't even need syrup - that would have put it over the edge. The Steak & Eggs were good! Highly recommend swapping out the hash browns for tater tots. After we were done eating, the server came by with a tray of desserts. Very effective on their part - the power of seeing all of the sweet treats worked on my boyfriend. He got an Oreo Cheesecake. I didn't get a picture of it though, it was gone too fast. read more

This was probably my tenth visit to Red Rocks over the course of the last 5 years, and it's consistently great. I always order the Bogarad's Chopped Salad with Blackened Salmon or Chicken, can't go wrong either way. Service is typically on point. I think they've renovated since I first started coming in- pretty spacious restaurant and nice ambience. What I really love about this spot is the void it fills for the area. I live off Monroe Rd. near the Galleria and while we've got a decent variety of cuisines nearby, Red Rocks provides a slightly more upscale atmosphere without having to drive all the way into Southpark or another neighborhood. It continues to be one of my mainstays for a reason! :-) read more

I revisited Red Rocks Cafe for a retirement celebration. I reserved a space for a party of 15, and they were very accommodating. Without request, they placed my party in a separate section and reserved tables to display our cake. Perhaps we shouldn't have attempted to go on Fathers Day. We had a reservation. The hostess was less than pleasant when I checked in 5 minutes prior and said "we'll get to you when we can". We opted to wait then went to the bar after about 15 minutes. At 30 minutes after our reservation we checked in again requesting an estimate. The response given by the hostess was "when we get to you". While sitting at the bar I noticed majority of the servers had very long hair that while sort it pulled back most dragged in the food they carried on trays to various tables. We were finally seated about 35-40 minutes after our reservation. I received a text and we reported to the hostess stand however she failed to acknowledge us and almost gave our table away. Our server was great and had only been there two weeks. We waited a bit for food but it was good and honestly we just expected this at this point. We often go to this restaurant so wanted to show some patience since it was so busy. But this was a disappointing experience. read more

I won't be to hard because our server was excellent. The issue arose with my receipt. I observed that I had been charged twice for an appetizer. My bill was 92.34. I was overcharged 8 dollars. Instead of refunding me the 8 dollars my debit card was charged another fee of 84.34. total charged for my meal 176.64. I did not realize what had happened until I left the restaurant. I returned approximately 20 minutes later. The first guy I spoke to (bartender) tried to brush me off like we know, I've dealt with it. He tried to handle me in that manner because he was the one who charged my debit card twice. He said, he did the charge for the server. I was very displeased with the fact that he addressed them overcharging me in a nonchalant manner. I asked to see someone over him. Finally, I spoke with the manager for the day. He was kind, but ultimately I ended up being told I had to wait for a refund, even though this was the restaurant's error. I should the my bank account as proof of what I was saying. I instances of this manner businesses should be required to refund immediately, customers should never pay for a company's error. The was mediocre. read more
