Our family loves going to Red Rocks Cafe! My daughter and I always get the Lemon Herb Chicken with fried okra and wild risotto rice. So good! My husband loves the Lobster Ravioli. I think we've tried just about everything on the menu and it's always taste good! Our service was exceptional last night! Rachel was our server. She was prompt, pleasant, had follow up questions and repeated our orders back to us. This was our second time having her. Came here during Restaurant week to celebrate my sister's birthday. You never know what kind of service you will get during restaurant week but we weren't disappointed. I chose this restaurant because I've had such wonderful experiences with the location in birkdale. Casual atmosphere from jeans to dresses. Appeared to be kid friendly as there were families with small children. In fact the family next to our table had a server who interacted with the kids and kept them laughing which I'm sure those parents appreciated. I'm giving 4 not 5 stars with hopes of returning when it's not restaurant week. The selection for the menu was great but I chose the coconut salmon with risotto and asparagus and I wasn't impressed. I LOVE salmon and I would not order this again. It wasn't bad but there certainly wasn't anything special about it. My sister had shecrab soup for an appetizer and that was delicious. We are there for Charlotte restaurant week. The food is so good. The salmon was Excellent. The steak was good. Yes, try spinach sundries dip was good for Appetizer. The only complaint will be the shrimp cocktail three shrimps, not another cocktail sauce. Desserts are wonderful. The service was excellent. It's been about 2 years since I have eaten here and it may be longer next time. I decided to order and do curb pick up. I ordered calamari and southern salad at 5:35. I was told 25 minutes. I arrived at 6. I called the # for curb pick up. I waited 15 minutes called again. Waited another 5 or so minutes then walked in when I kept seeing other cars pull up and get food brought out. I found my food sitting on the table and told the girl that's my food I've been waiting on. I took it and left. The bag is sealed shut so you can't look to see if everything is there. If you're looking for a venue for a small event, look no further. It was the perfect space for our engagement party! They allowed my family to bring in decorations including large balloon columns. I made a playlist that they aired thru their speaker system and they let us use their big screen for a video looped in thru our laptop. The catering menu had countless options to fit the needs of a large crowd and the food was replenished as it was eaten. The staff was so friendly and happy to serve the (LOTS) of beer and wine during the 4 hour party. They were super quick to pick up the dirty cups and plates which was helpful because table space was limited (only because we pushed the limits of capacity). They never made me feel stressed about anything! The food, drinks and smiles flowed freely and I'm so thankful for the staff at Red Rocks for making our day perfect! read more

I cannot begin to describe how accommodating the Red Rocks staff was today for three of my friends and I who met there for lunch. The weather was 40 and cloudy and they served us outside on the patio (even though they weren't originally set up for dining outside) and they also moved a heater outside to help with the cold. You could tell they sincerely cared about our Covid concerns and respected us wanting to be outside vs the enclosed tent. Not only that, our meals were delish! We ordered wine, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Everything was fresh, warm and wonderful! We could not recommend Red Rocks more. Amazing service, friendly staff, safe and delicious! read more

Excellent Pittsburgh salad! We all enjoyed our lunch--I had never had a salad with beef and french fries! The generous portion was a filling lunch salad with beef, hard boiled eggs, mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and I selected cherry vinaigrette, which added a sweet contrast to the beef. The combination was unique and flavorful! My husband had a great chop salad and enjoyed it. The service was professional and courteous! This was my Second time visiting this restaurant. I understand that recently they renovated and it is very pleasant inside. I got there before my friend and they were kind enough to seat me before she arrived. We were seated at the back by a large television with a Fishtank on the screen. This idea is very calming but it is a little odd being seated in the back. This room felt more like an extra space for parties or big groups. The staff were friendly and I believe one of the managers even stopped by to check on us to see how our meal was and that was nice. I had a small Caesar salad with my Chicken blackened; it had a little spice to it and I'll tell you it was Perfect! Best Chicken Cesar salad I have ever had! The portion size of the small was just right for a light lunch! The parking here is a little strange I cannot even tell you what is the front or what is the back. We called to place an order, we were told that we had to come into the bar to place a to go order. we arrived to four hostess standing around doing nothing the entire time we waited on our order(at least 30 mins). I feel like I was forced to come in and order my food at the bar but yet there was people there doing absolutely nothing increasing the cost the food order in the long run, and extra bar tab(how convenient). We shared a tiny order of crab cakes, that the dill sauce was the star of the appetizer. I ordered the lemon chicken dish with broccoli and a potato cake. The chicken had a great light flavor, the broccoli was way over cooked and served in the sauce of the chicken. The potato cake was served separate, delicious,..... fried in hot enough grease it was crispy and NOT greasy...... yummy. Looks like they also cater/host parties. The menu, you have quite a lot of options, Seafood, Chicken, pasta...I went with Almond crusted Grouper with wild rice risotto and asparagus with a beurre blanc sauce and balsamic glaze. The fish was cooked well, and the asparagus was perfect, not mushy-a good bite. My dining companion had tenderloin Medallions with blue cheese crumbles--it came with fresh veggies and also the risotto. Overall, OK. Th Grouper was the winner tonight. I've never had great food there but it's close to my kids school so kept going back for convenience. But the last time we were there there was a cockroach in our food. I've never been so disgusted in my life and I'm still having nightmares about it. When we told him about it they didn't even seem very surprised or sorry about it. They offered to buy us a dessert? What??? A dessert? We don't want to eat anything else from this place! They should have bought the whole dinner and bent over backwards apologizing! I will never ever go back there. read more

I had the Buffalo shrimp as an appetizer and it was SPICY. I also had the Cajun salmon with came with rice and broccoli/cauliflower mix. The rice seemed to be over cooked and the veggies were hard. Sometimes I think it's easy to toss out a 5 star review. But this is experience truly deserved 5 stars from beginning to end. First was the phone call. A party of 9 on a Sunday evening is no easy feat for many restaurants during this (post) pandemic time. The first place that we really wanted said a 3-4 hour wait. Impossible. I called and spoke with I believe Bella, and asked if they could seat a party of 7. She asked what time and I stated right now(4:46pm). She placed me on a 2 minute hold and said come but to give them 10 mins. Upon arrival, we were greeted(by name) which was very welcoming/warming being that this was not a high end where that is always expected...again during this pandemic time. We were seated within 5 mins of walking through the door and our drink orders taken in within 15 mins. I will say this felt so good bc alot of places with a party of 9 that includes kids they are not as excited. Ashley was our server and she was superb!!! She had the best attitude the entire time. With 5 different adults it can easily seem that people are asking for everything one after the other and she maintained super professionalism. Our food came out on time. The food. The wild rice risotto is now a must have. EVERYONE'S steak was PERFECT!!! Tender and delicious. For the longest I would only go to Del Frisco or Firebirds for a great steak but I must say RED ROCK'S food is delicious. Time for a review update!! 3.5 stars. I like this place, don't get me wrong...but the lunch I had the other day wasn't my favorite. A few things on their menu are just missing something. I had the spinach walnut ravioli and it was the lunch portion. Tons of spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms..with hardly any ravioli. That's ok, it's lunch, I get it. The flavor was a little off. It was just too bland for me. The sauce didn't have much flavor at all and the tomatoes weren't very good. The she crab soup was yummy. The flavor was nice and I did enjoy it. There were a few shells...but nothing crazy. I wish I would've gotten the lobster ravioli. Once I find something I like, I should probably just stick with it. Lesson for next time. I will be back. I'd like to try some of their apps and maybe dessert. The people are really nice and the service was perfect. There was no wait at lunchtime, which is appreciated by many on their lunch hour. read more

Their queso with chips is soooo good! It has bits of spinach and I think the waitress said there's 5 different cheeses in there! I'm definitely coming back for that and then my colleagues had a seafood salad which looked amazing! I had the crab cake sandwich and was really good too. Did you ever go to a restaurant and the service was so good that you became nervous like it was a dream and you were afraid you would wake up before the dessert and decaf came? Wow last Sunday we went to Red Rocks and that is exactly what happened. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal or service at this place but last Sunday was the best ever. Unfortunately I did not get the lady's name but she was outstanding. The nicest part is someone in management always comes by to make sure it was a good experience. Good service is so rare these days but these folks are at the front of line in knowing what matters. They are the chic filet of fine dining. I'm not the Duke of this place by accident...I absolutely love it! I've lived in nearby Robinson Woods for the last 10 years and this has become my go-to neighborhood bar/restaurant. There are so many offerings at RR and you'll find something for anyone you bring. Great for business lunches or family celebrations, you'll find the hostesses welcoming and the wait staff courteous. My boyfriend & I ordered curbside pickup. He ordered the Chef's Special blue cheese medallions and I ordered the Sesame Seared Tuna. His food was perfect and very tasty. My tuna, though, was barely cooked and very fishy tasting. I did order it rare, but it was basically raw. Tuna steak is mild and should never have a fishy taste when done properly. First about me: I travel extensively and eat out at least 4 X a week. I love to cook and love food, you can rely on my review. This restaurant has some work to do. I had the she-crab soup , good flavor but minimal crab meat, and there were bits of shell. I also had the crab cake, not even close to lump crab, was pan fried with oil vs butter, was supposed to be on brioche bun and was served on a hamburger bun, and it contained bits of shell. The only star was the sides, broccoli and cauliflower, which were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Service was also sub-par, I was at the bar and the bartender seemed angry about something and was perfunctorily polite but not friendly. Lot's of locals love it , I guess they remember your name, but I prefer to have good food - I'm staying away. read more

Two stars is being generous! We arrived party of 4 for our outside dinner reservation. On the web site on reservations the ask you were you want to sit. The host said reservations don't matter all there sitting is first come first serve. Even the little manager man said that also. Then we ordered drinks. Who serves a gin and tonic with no lime. 10 min to get a lime to the table. The the tonic was flat. The waitress said they had problems with the carbonation and said she would bring me a new one. Never happened. But she got it on the bill. Food came two orders were correct. Third order the sides were wrong. Four completely wrong. Something we did not order. We then wanted twenty minutes after they cleared our plates from the table before we were offered desert. I don't know why I would expect good serve and a QUAUTY experience when the Manager thinks reservations don't mean anything. read more
