Came to Redbird over the weekend as we were celebrating a birthday. First impressions walking in, the staff was super friendly and I really liked how the bar was both inside and outside. Highly recommend paying for valet, as street parking is tough to find on the weekends. As for the food let's get into it: - Kombucha-Cured Hamachi (8/10) It's hard to mess up on a crudo, but this was a great start to the meal. - Garganelli (8.5/10) Pasta was cooked perfectly, had a nice kick/spice to it. Could easily eat two bowls of this. - Steak and Frites (8.5/10) Steak was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. Slightly pricey but I get it. Overall, I'd say it was a great dining experience as the service is the real reason for the 5 stars. Place might be a little pricey, but worth try once at least. Would I go again? Yes!

We tried the Dine LA menu last night with a couple of friends. The food was tasty and well presented. Loved the friendly staff, but they were very busy. Take one star away for the super-sweet summer dessert, and we couldn't stay longer because of the next reservation.

Los Angeles RoadTrip Episode 5 Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress.. We have this big wide city all to ourselves.. We blocked the noise with the sound of "I need you".. And right there where we stood was holy ground.. Sitting, on holy ground (Frmr. Cathedral Bldg.), at the "Redbird".. We drank cold glasses of luscious Chardonnay... The Lass ate a "Grilled Branzino" perfectly cooked..but, somewhat sad, that the sauce the maitre d kindly poured on the Fish, softened the crisp skin. (in the old days, you would be flogged for that..:). All in all it was enjoyable. The Lad, ate a Wagyu Burger, that was superbly seasoned and cooked.."Rare-Med.-Rare" juicy deliciousness, This Burger was the most unctuous burger ever tackled in these Americas..:) Then dropping out of the sky on to our table (by friends) was a plate of "Caramelised Banana French Toast"...Yes, nicely sweet, just missing whip cream (it's 5'O'clock somewhere..:) A very pleasant relaxing restaurant with great grub too.. "Tonight, We are gonna dance like we are on Holy Ground..:) Best, Avram Blackbird Jr.

Took my friends here who were visiting from out of town brunch. This wedding that weekend and hotel was right next to them. So was it a perfect option. We ordered the cod sandwich, congee, Lobster roll, and braised beef with a side of biscuits. Everyone enjoyed their food. Except maybe my friend who ordered the lobster roll. She felt it was really soggy lobster so she felt it might've been canned? My lobster was a good size and crispy The restaurant itself is beautiful, it was a nice day outside and it was Sunny. I love the decor, it gives off a natural airy feel. The service was standard. I feel like the was nothing wrong but nothing outstanding

Oh dear Redbird. My expectation for this restaurant was pretty high as I heard great things. I've been trying to try Redbird since Father's Day 2025. Just a back story on that, I made a reservation for June 15 2025, I received an email from the floor manager telling me all reservations have been canceled due to an event. Mind you, I get this email on June 13th. I was annoyed because I had to scramble and find a restaurant that had availability. I'm sure they knew of this event a while ago. So that was annoying. In September of 2025, I reached out to the floor manager, Ani, and tried to make a reservation for September 14th. She informed me that they will be closed for an event. So I reached out to Ani one last time to get a reservation for my anniversary on April 21st. We finally got in! So with all of the back and forth with Ani, I kind of expected them to go above and beyond. But unfortunately, I felt we were treated not so great. When we arrived, we waited a good 10 mins until the hostess greeted us. The time we were there, no one acknowledged our presence. When she finally came, she did apologized and walked us over to a big table in the farthest corner in the restaurant. Now mind you, it was only 3 of us, and they tried to sit us at a table that can seat 6, in a corner. No no, I'm not sitting there. I've literally been trying to come here for the past 9months and it's my anniversary. So I asked to be sat at a smaller table in the middle of the restaurant. Now, I'm familiar on how the seating works as it really comes down to the amount of servers you have and the amount of tables are within their section. But again, the manager Ani, was fully aware of my reservation and I felt that she should've provided better hospitality for us. So, once we were seated, we waited awhile for our waiter. When he finally showed up, we placed our order. We had drinks, appetizers, and our main meal. The menu is on the smaller side, so I expected the food to be overly delicious. But it was just ok. It was good, but not mind blowing. After dinner, I asked the waiter if I can speak with Ani. She came and I reminded her who I was and the back and forth emails we've had since July 2025. She knew right away. I told her I was a bit disappointed that the hostess was trying to sit us in the far corner. All she said was "oh sorry about that". That was it, no complementary dessert, or anything. Like wow! We've been treated so much better at other restaurants. It was real disappointing. I would not recommend this spot nor would I come back. I suggest the managers do more hospitality trainings.

Went to Redbird in downtown LA for the first time with a party of seven and really enjoyed brunch. The ambiance is amazing--it's a beautiful restaurant and a great setting for a special meal. We tried quite a few things including the biscuits, shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, the crispy potatoes appetizer, and pancakes. Everything was really good, and the biscuits were especially a standout. The only small hiccup was that my son wasn't a fan of their take on the biscuits and gravy--he said it tasted more like a chili than what he expected. But the staff handled it perfectly. They were extremely helpful and friendly and immediately replaced it with something else that he enjoyed. Overall, it was a really nice experience with great food, a beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service. While everything was good, the menu didn't quite pull us back for another visit, but it was definitely worth trying.

Absolutely amazing dinner! Everything was delicious. We were thrilled with the complimentary Brazilian cheesy rolls. One person in our group is vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for her on the menu. I ordered the clam pasta, which is one of my favorite dishes but can be very hit-or-miss depending on the clams. These clams were cooked perfectly with not even a speck of grit remaining in them, and the guanciale was the perfect addition for a nice burst of extra flavor. This was a delicious and memorable dinner, and I would certainly come back if I'm ever in LA again.

The ambiance is fantastic: sexy lighting, warm and cozy, relaxing and spacious. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday since it's a beautiful place. The staff was also very friendly. They could have checked in on us a little more, but overall very attentive. That being said, the food, while gorgeously presented, was slightly underwhelming, especially compared to the first time I went; textures and salt levels falling short of ideal. I'm not sure if I was turned off by the price to portion ratio as well. Cocktails are great and there's a nice wine selection. I'd love to stop by again for just a drink at the bar, great vibe to drink and chat. Nice that they have valet, not too pricey.

I love a good Brunch spot... Tried RedBar with my sisters and between the ambiance, quality ingredients and taste, we were happy campers! [ ] Pear Salad: fresh with creamy goat cheese (noms) slightly spicy from black pepper and arugula, it's sooo good [ ] Basque Baked Eggs: spice-heavy though balanced. If you're nervous of spicy dishes, you'll enjoy the rich flavors without a sight of overwhelm [ ] Biscuits: decent, though not fresh (dined at end of brunch, so I get it) [ ] Blueberry Ricotta Pancake: simply decadent. A pancake lover's rejoice. Moist and buttery! [ ] Cod Sanwich: lemon & dill - cod was juicy with a tasty tempura finish, married by the garlic aoli.

Another lovely brunch experience with our good friend and her beautiful toddler daughter, with an expanding palate. Redbird is an incredibly beautiful space to dine. I'd been here years prior for an event, but hadn't yet visited the restaurant. The pictures don't live up to experiencing the main dining space in person. Beautifully bright and open, with distinct color selections for the furniture and decor - simple, yet thoughtful. I knew the food was exceptional and it truly exceeded expectations. Cocktails we tried: Modern Mimosa Good Morning Vietnam 5 Easy Pieces - our favorite. Very light, flavorful, and refreshing. Food Selections: Pear Salad Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes Frittata Tempura Cod Sandwich Shrimp and Grits Basque Baked Eggs Buttermilk Biscuits Applewood Smoked Bacon Too much food on purpose because we wanted to try a little of everything and were happy to send the leftovers home to our friend's husband. Everything was very good. Standouts, however, were the Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes, Frittata, and the Tempura Cod Sandwich. I'm not a huge pancake fan, but these were like no other! Baby girl tore through the Frittatta lol. And the cod was cooked to perfection on the sandwich and paired with an amazing sauce. So good. The staff were extremely accommodating. Our reservation was shortly before they begin their transition to dinner and they allowed us to stay a while and catch up as they transitioned. Very kind. We will most definitely return for dinner and I'd love to dine in their lounge space soon as well. We had a wonderful time here.

Delicious pre theater dining. There's something for everyone, from steak frites to pasta to Seabass to pork chop. This makes it difficult to say that the restaurant has a "specific point of view". But, with that said, it also makes for a profitable restaurant and a delicious meal so that's a WIN. Service is exceptional, vibes are immaculate! Located in the historic St Vibiana Cathedral - it's truly beautiful.

Visiting for a conference, I asked a local friend for a recommendation for dinner and he said Redbird. I googled the name and thought it looked beautiful with a upscale menu. When I arrived I loved the ambiance -very intimate with a sophisticated but modern vibe. The outdoor seating area was gorgeous. We were sat in the sofas in the middle which were comfy. Service was fantastic. The dishes recommended by the server were all 5 stars-unique flavors and cooked perfectly. We ordered the everything rolls which were to die for-I'm a sucker for a fresh baked soft bread. The butter spread was also delicious. I was surprised by how big and tasty the market salad was! Grilled prawns and truffle gnocchi also a big hit, but my favorite by far was the pork chop. Cooked perfectly, it was so tender with a glaze that was to die for. I will definitely be thinking about this restaurant until the next time I'm in Los Angeles.

Hi Pas, We have valet available beginning at 5:00PM for dinner service, and beginning at 10:00AM…

What is the parking situation during Covid? Thinking about valet specifically, how potentially unsafe it is to let someone park your car, etc.

Did valet back during the peak, no issues, but if you're worried you can probably park near little Tokyo self park options and walk up

How is the store operating during Covid?

Tables in the three courtyards and in the garden, and very very limited seating in the main dining room. Very well distanced.

I don't think they are BYOB!

Dinner was $70 per person and consisted entirely of shared plates. It turned out to be plenty of food. We started with the roasted shishito peppers and the crispy pork belly. That pork belly was the best dish of the night - absolutely delicious. Next came the chickpea fritters, which were also really good. The roasted beet salad was up next. I hate beets. But I still liked this. I wouldn't order it again because, yeah, I really don't like beets. But if you like them even a little, you should get this. I actually ate several bites of this, and it was nice. The Sichuan Chili Bass presented a similar situation as I don't really like fish - but again, I ate this and it was quite tasty. Dessert was a "s'mores" situation - a messy, glorious bowl of chocolate, meringue, graham cracker crunch and strawberries. Service was awesome - perfectly pacing the meal. My friend had a couple of cocktails which were gorgeous. And the room is lovely and light. I don't love the neighborhood and parking can be tough. I definitely would come early unless you're taking a taxi. Genuinely surprised how much I liked this meal. Everything was very well done and clearly made with care without seeming fussy or too precious. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. This is a place to take your out-of-town friends to.

We made a reservation through OpenTable and arrived about 5 minutes early. They were able to seat us pretty quickly, so the whole check-in process was easy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, with tall ceilings and plenty of plants. At night, the lighting is moodier and gives the whole space a warm, buzzy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself was also literally warm lol. It wasn't unbearably hot, but definitely warmer than comfortable, especially while eating something like curry. Granted, it was 95°F+ outside that day, so maybe the AC was just fighting for its life. We ordered: * Goat liver mousse * Wood-fired broccoli * Pickled pepper blueberry cornbread * Lamb curry Surprisingly, I think the wood-fired broccoli was my favorite dish of the night. It had a really nice char with a slight tanginess that kept me going back for more. The cornbread and goat liver mousse were both just okay for me. I wanted the cornbread to be richer and more buttery, and the blueberry didn't come through nearly as much as I expected. The goat liver mousse was fine, but weirdly I almost wanted it to taste more like goat? For something centered around goat liver, the flavor felt pretty tame. The lamb curry had a nice curry flavor, but it was missing the depth and complexity I've had in really good curries. There also wasn't much actual lamb in the dish, which made it even harder for it to stand out. Overall, nothing we had was particularly bad, but aside from the broccoli, nothing made me think, "I need to eat this again." The space and interior honestly left a stronger impression on me than the food. Maybe we just didn't order the right dishes, because this place is clearly popular; but with so many other restaurants in the Arts District, I don't see myself choosing Girl & the Goat over them for a return visit.

The food was overall tasty, although I felt my steak was tougher than usual for the price point. The shrimp ceviche, although good quality and refreshing, had a slightly bitter taste to it (more so than the usual citrus tang) which I felt detracted from the overall flavor. It kind of felt like there were too many ingredients to it which detracted from the tasty simplicity that the dish is known for, although that is just my opinion and someone else may enjoy it more. The service on the other hand was not particularly good. Our waitress came off as slightly standoffish when asked about gluten free options and failed to refill our water cups multiple times throughout the meal, to the point my partner had to get up and do it herself. The sneaky 4% service charge automatically added to the bill also left a bad taste in my mouth. I have always been of the mind that the responsibility of compensating staff adequately falls on the business, not the public, and any extra tip is for good service and should remain optional by the customer, especially when they charge this much for basic entrees. Our bill came out to over $100 for two people (2 dishes, 1 shared appetizer, no drinks besides water) for breakfast. Overall I'd give this place 3.5 stars, worth checking out, but probably not worth frequenting often. Ambiance is an 8.5/10, the food was about a 7/10, the value was a 6/10, and the service was a 5/10. The food was solid, the ambiance was nice, the value is average to below average, and the service could use a little work. That being said, it's a nice place worth checking out, just make sure you ask to have that 4% charge removed from your bill, and tip accordingly.

Our dish picks were organized ahead of time and the staff did a great job at pacing the dishes and making sure enough was ordered for our party size. Favorites were hands down the Bluefin Tuna Toast, Edna's Sour Milk Cornbread, Cherokee Tomato Cesar, Mushroom Crusted Pork Chop, and the Beef Ribeye (the bone marrow made this even better!) so if you have to make tough decisions I'd prioritize those and honestly skip dessert. The restaurant has a hip/cozy feel and you can see the chefs making the food in the open kitchen which is right in the dinning room. There is valet parking or if you luck out you may be able to find street parking around neighboring streets.

We had the cornbread (great), the chili with tortillas (amazing and my favorite), the trout (HUGE) and large enough to share and have left overs and the chive mashed potatoes (amazing). The food was great and did not disappoint. My friend is also talking about how skinny the wine glasses are here and she was not wrong! The thinnest wine stems I have ever seen. The only thing that sat a little weird with me was we had ordered a bottle of wine. They said they would keep it chilled for us, which was fine. They would come over and fill up our glass. However, I don't know if it was because it was the end of the night or what, but we had to ask for the rest of our bottle. Our server didn't know if we had any left but we ended up having two glasses worth in the bottle. If we didn't ask for it, we would not have received the wine we paid for, which was $70. It just put a sour taste in my mouth for the end of our experience. The food was great, but I may recommend keeping your bottle of wine on your table.

big, nice, sprawling and relaxing place to have a bite. there is a lovely outdoor courtyard, or you…read more can eat inside in what feels like a rustic / modern farmhouse space. by that i mean open ceilings, beams, lots of 'raw' style. its all elegant, relaxing, and has an upscale touch. came for a casual business meeting around 6pm and it was the perfect ambience and setting. didn't have a TON to eat since biz is biz and i don't want spinach in my teeth. but the fish i had, and the appetizer ceasar salad my colleague and i shared, plus some vodka drink i forget what it was (if i forget it must have done the trick), were all very good. service was colorful and lovely (a very varied cast haha). a huge variety of diners, families, etc, all clearly enjoying themselves which says a lot about the place. highly recommended. ps - there is no parking on sunset 4-7pm so, you have to hunt down a space on a side street if you come early! and there are some parking limits ie 1 hour, 2 hour... depending on how close you park. i think i parked on wilcox on an off street and it was like 3 blocks away but its fine bc u should walk after you eat!

Tried the 3 course DineLA dinner menu $45…read more Picked here for the and lush patio and proximity to hollywood bowl. Server was friendly and even shared which items are full portions for DineLA! ~First Course~ Parker House Rolls Went with this bc they are known for bread. It is similar to Hawaiian rolls and tastes great, but I don't think it was necessary to eat this here. The store bought ones, after some prep, can be comparable. Roasted Meatballs might be more money worth for the 1st course because of portion! Comes with a slice of focaccia bread. But the bread came a little cold so wasn't the best tasting. ~Main Course ~ Crispy Skinned Rainbow Trout Amaze amaze amaze. Would order this again! The trout was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, flakey and tender. Not dry at all, which is my biggest pet peeve against fish. This is also very money worth because reg price is $31 and they gave the full portion. Mary's Chicken Schnitzel Very tender chicken! I know it's like European but... my taste buds wants to put katsu sauce on it. ~Dessert~ Panna Cotta I was a bit apprehensive going with this order because I'm not big on jello-like pudding, but this version was milky and soft which I much preferred. And I enjoyed scraping everything off the plate. The other dessert option was chocolate cake (not full portion) and it is delicious. Would rec. ps. they also have a seafood selection that was very tempting!

Service: very hands on, everyone kept refilling our water glasses. Really appreciate them. The dishes came in accordingly and right on time, one after another. We ordered quite many dishes and desserts. -:- All were made fresh and cooked/baked perfectly. It's really hard to cook ribs perfectly. But this place did it! A lot of people think that "fall off the bones" are the perfect way for ribs dish. But actually that is incorrect. If you're curious of how perfectly made BBQ ribs supposed to taste like, feel free to come to this place. They'll show you how it should be. -:- this place made the best with all fresh ingredients. I never liked spread before. But here, they made their tuna spread from fresh ingredients and not from canned ingredients. If you'd like to know how good a spread tuna spread tastes like, this is the place to go! And don't get me started with their bread. Talking about fresh! They make cloud bread (my opinion). Deep fried cauliflower: first, they boiled/blanched the cauliflowers perfectly, breaded and deep fried. If you'd don't like veggies, you have to come here and get this dish. The sauce, they made it from fresh lime juice! Not from any bottled ones that majority restaurants out there use for short cuts. This including their tomato salad. Will we revisit? Yes! 1000% many many many more times!

Cool warehouse turned into restaurant, although there's not a lot of a/c to go around on a hot day…read more Service is excellent- we were indecisive, so we relied heavily on our server to put together the meal. We ordered: Mushroom crispy rice- strong umami dish, rice was crispy and the poured over broth was delicious Yellowtail slices- the passion fruit marinade was something we haven't seen on a carpaccio and we enjoyed this as a light appetizer Bing with ricotta, jam, and chili oil- this really stood out, definitely a must have at this restaurant. Great mix of flavors. Smoked pork chop- we wouldn't normally get this, but the waiter suggested it and we ultimately trusted him. Probably the best pork chop we've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, with tender meat and fat that melts in your mouth. The coconut milk in the collared greens was also a nice touch. Yuzu lemonade- they must be squeezing this fresh in the back, it took a while to come but it was so good. Love a more tart drink, and this was a perfect palate cleanser between dishes. This was more than enough for two people, we both ate to our fill and had enough for one lunch the next day. Not sure if it was intentional, but all dishes came out individually. I think some things (ie rice/pork) would have been nicely paired together so that you can balance your palate and pace yourself better. Also, a bit pricey for what you're getting, but to be expected from a celebrity chef's restaurant in LA. I will say that the chase sapphire credit helped my wallet digest it more comfortably (and the sapphire gift side dish was a plus!) Overall a great experience that I would like to have again with more bing and some new dishes.
