We booked a reservation with Redline for a snorkeling trip to Molokini. We are glad that we not only booked the excursion, but that we chose Redline. The folks were incredibly warm and clearly committed to everyone having both an enjoyable, and safe experience. Our Captain expertly navigated the swells on the way to and from the crater. Once on scene, the clarity of the water was unbelievable, and the fish were everywhere. We found that if we were slow in our movements, many of the fish would come almost right up to us. We got incredibly close and saw such a variety of fish and even eels. We have snorkeled at many locations on Maui, including those highly recommended, but nothing came close to this trip. Even though my wife and I are not big group tour fans, we highly recommend booking this trip. The group was small enough it did not feel like a group tour; the staff were amazing; and the views under water, and even around the crater, were well worth it. I know the next time we come to Maui, we will certainly book this trip again and with Redline, and we will certainly highly recommend this to all our friends. read more

Great whale watching tour out of the Kihei Small Boat Harbor. Tour length was 1.5 hours from launch to docking. Just the right amount of time. Saw several whales, some from a distance (50-100 meters), and some as close as 10 meters. Definitely a worthwhile adventure. Total number of guests on the raft was 20. I was concerned it might be a little too crowded, but that was not the case. Our crew, Tony and Hannah, were quite knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. Had a great time. We are in Maui for our honeymoon, and hopped aboard a redline raft for a snorkeling excursion. Both of us had snorkeled before, but this was an EPIC experience. The sea turtles were pretty cool, but the endless slew of Dad jokes provided by Captain Kim and first mate Tatie (Tim/Katie) were the bread and butter to this day. Capt Tim kept us afloat with jokes, fun facts, sick waves and dope snorkel spots throughout the day. Katie kept us from falling off the ladder when coming back onto the boat, always offered an encouraging word and ensured we all had a tasty lunchbox. It is definitely not your generic snorkeling adventure, and is absolutely worth the 630a role call. We were having so much fun that we didn't get any action pictures, which goes to show how awesome a morning full of seal slides and snorkeling can be. I would do this every day if I could! read more

Fantastic 90 minutes! Doing the raft is the way to go as the Redline staff and boat are professional, funny and accommodating in finding the whales! Just 15 of us on board with good vibes and no issues seeing or taking pics. Had packed camera and bag with plastic fearing the water, but nary a splash or issue. Even had a small whale go under the raft...very cool! Can't wait to go back! read more

We had a great time snorkeling with Redline and felt like we made the right choice. Our guides were very knowledgeable, humorous and fun For those with good cardio, you'll enjoy the freedom of diving and the long range for swimming allowed. For those like me who need a little help floating - they give floaters to wrap around your waste for assist so u can enjoy snorkeling without worrying about having to keep yourself afloat. Although they don't recommend those who can't withstand moderate activity - I did fine. They stopped at 4 different locations and the last one had sea turtles! Today's rafting / snorkeling adventure with Redline was one of the highlights on our first trip to Maui. I did a lot of research on the snorkeling tours in the area and am so glad we chose Redline. The day started out with an awesome cruise across to Molokini where we ate breakfast served by Zac (who owns the worlds longest fins I th while Captain Chase gave us some history on Hawaii. We didn't get to snorkel on the backside of Molokini because of the winds, but Chase's history lesson was fascinating enough. Next, we took off across the ocean. Seriously, I recommend sitting on the front for this if you don't mind big bumps and getting soaked. It's absolutely breathtaking and thrilling. We got to snorkel in 3 more spots along the coast - including one with turtles and one near the lava flow. Plus we saw whales! Day ended with a lunch on the boat and the gripping sail back to mainland. Couple things: 1. This is more of an adventure trip than the other snorkeling tours in the area. If you're a newbie swimmer, nervous in the water, or have back/neck problems this isn't the tour for you. Not saying don't do it, just know your limits. 2. They provide reef safe sun screen and wet suits before you get on the boat. 3. Bring cash to tip your awesome guides :) I didn't think about that and wish I had read it in the reviews. 4. Don't swim under the boat, and always listen to the guides. 5. Just my opinion - respect the other snorkelers. If you have a GoPro or other waterproof camera, please be aware of where you are swimming while you are focused on what you are filming. Others are also trying to enjoy that cool thing you're filming. BOOK WITH REDLINE. We already did again for a whale watching tour later in the week. This was our 2nd time using Redline Rafting for snorkeling tour. The first time we went in Jan 2021, it was whale season. Our captain and his guide gave us the ultimate experience, we chased whales for an extra 30-45 min! We came back May 2023 for our honeymoon and it was the top excursion we looked forward to doing. What we loved about the 2nd tour is that we went to different spots giving us the chance to see different sea life - including turtles! My dad bought us this snorkel tour as a gift while we were in Maui. The 5 hour tour included the Molkini crater front side and back side, and then we went to three additional stops. Our tour guides (Allie, and I can't remember the other guide's name, but he was great too) were super welcoming and knowledgeable. Breakfast (a cinnamon roll) and lunch (a wrap and chips) were included on the trip - which was a lovely and unexpected touch. The sandwich at the end of the tour was particularly delicious after a day in the water. This tour was great because we left early enough that we were the first and only boats every where we went. We saw a few boats arriving with 50+ people on the as we were leaving and we knew we had a great company. The capacity is at 50% so there were only 12 people on the tour, masks were required when not in the water, and I felt super comfortable that everything was sanitized and clean and safe. The snorkeling was AMAZING! We saw hundreds of different types of fish, spent as long as we wanted in each spot, and never felt rushed. At the end of the day, we went to a spot where we were able to swim and hang with two sea turtles, and had them all to ourselves. Would definitely recommend! read more

We did a whale watching tour with Shawn and Ethan and it was incredible. They knew exactly where our chances of watching whales would be high. We got to see whales and their babies jumping out of water, splashing their tails and pecks. Throughout the tour we were given a lot of interesting information about the whales and their habitat. Their jokes made the whole tour a lot more enjoyable. They followed the covid guidelines and safety measures and also kept the safe distance from the whales. We would definitely recommend them for whale watching tour. read more

Had a GREAT time on this whale watching trip! Given that my wife and I live in the SF Bay Area, Monterey is nearby, and we have been whale watching there many a time. That said, we had the SINGLE BEST WHALE-WATCHING EXPERIENCE EITHER OF US HAS EVER HAD with Redline in Kihei. Granted, we went in early January, which I understand is the best month to go in HI. We saw several whales breach fully out of the water, but the time of year dictates how many whales are in the area, as the majority of whales in this area migrate to Alaskan waters to feed in the summer, then return to HI in the winter to give birth & mate. Kaika(?) and Barry were both knowledgeable and entertaining along the way. Highly recommend! FYI- bathrooms are located at the dock but NOT ONBOARD THE BOAT- it's also a small boat but it was large enough so that it seemed very stable on the water- I personally really enjoyed it, as it was very fast & you really felt closer to the whales. read more

March 2023 This was an AMAZING Tour. I would recommend this to ANYONE interested in viewing the whales up close and personally while learning from very knowledgeable tour experts. We were lucky to have Chase and Ary as our guides for this trip. Not only were they incredibly informative, but they were fun to learn from. You could tell how much they enjoyed their work, and you could really tell how much they cared for these beautiful, majestic creatures. Not only did we learn about the migration, but they were able to explain the behaviors we were observing with the Competition Group of 8 whales as well as the mother/baby whales we saw. We had a great day, seeing breaches, male whales competing for attention, and several FIN SWIZZLES. The boat was in great condition. It was clean and comfortable, and you could tell it was all top-notch equipment that was well maintained. Redline truly goes all in for the comfort and safety of their guests when compared to some other water-based tours we taken over the years. If you go whale watching with Redline, you WILL see whales. You will learn, and you will come away with a greater appreciation for these animals and how special they are. If you are going to pick a tour in Maui, pick the snorkeling tour with them and ask for Tim and Katie. I rank the tour in my top 5 and almost as fun as skydiving. Tim was the fun uncle and Katie was the safe aunt. It takes a lot to captain a boat and keep 12 passengers safe and happy. They worked great together and made the experience wonderful. Katie was very helpful to the first timer snorkelers and made sure they were good to go. Tim had a great choice of beats to keep the energy on the boat, even gave us a taste of how to surf a boat.. Not only was the snorkeling great, but we got to see multiple whales jumping and dolphins. The breakfast and lunch portions were on point and just what you needed after long day snorkeling. Recommendation: Bring a rain jacket and towel with you. Its a little cool when going out in the am and then when your cut across the bay. read more

After a few bad experiences with another snorkel tour company, my aunt and uncle booked us a fabulous trip on Redline. I'm so glad they did! The tour was organized, safe and fun! Sean and Alex had fantastic senses of humor. They made the rules of the boat clear and concise but still really fun. For example, you can sit on the edge of the boat if you dare - and here's how to not fall out. I was impressed with Sean's knowledge of the islands, including geography and Hawaiian history. Alex was great with info about the reefs and wildlife. And a great free diver who chased out eels and anything else fun for the tourists' view. We started on the interior of Molokini crater, then moved the the back. Breathtaking! After Molokini, I expected us to head to La Perouse Bay to see if we could sneak up on where the spinner dolphins like to hang out. But the water was so choppy, we just got an extreme and bouncy boat ride through the swells before turning around to calmer seas near Makena in search of green sea turtles. We hit two stops along the coast and no one was disappointed - lots of honu! The food was good. We were served breakfast once we "parked" at Molokini, before the first snorkel. Alex passed around a plate of fresh fruit and warm cinnamon rolls. Then, lunch was an impressive deli spread for sandwiches. Lots of choices in breads, meats, cheese and drinks. The gear was decent. I used my own but my boyfriend was stoked that they had masks with optical lenses. Wetsuits were also provided because nearly 4 hours of swimming and boating and wind can chill you. Plenty of dry storage is available under the seats too. Great music blasting all day too. All around, a great day on Maui's water and I'd highly recommend these guys for your next adventure! read more

We were invited along on a snorkel adventure by Karen and Jen, the newest members of our extended family. They booked the trip on Redline Rafting out of Kihei. The day had us diving at four locations starting with Molokini, both the front and the backside. We were given a tour of La Perouse shoreline,bounced through big waves and saw turtles, eels and many tropical fish. When they spotted a Manta Ray I was in the water and a easy swim in the direction they pointed had me swimming with this beauty. Highly recommend booking your snorkeling excursion with Redline Rafting! We did the 2-hr trip at 9:30am and it was the perfect amount of time in the water for us. Our guides were super friendly, knowledgeable and kept us feeling safe and secure. They provide the snorkeling gear and a floatation device. You can store your belongings inside the benches on the raft to keep them dry. The meetup point is easy to find and has ample parking. We really enjoyed the scenery at Molokini crater and were able to see some cool fish. Our raft had 14 guests total and still had plenty of room to feel comfy. This is a great experience for solo travelers, couples, friends and even families. If you're looking around for a snorkeling excursion- go for redline rafting! read more

We did a tour today with Chase and Katie. They were amazing. They were Fun and Knowledgeable. Tour met at 6:30 for check in and loaded onto the boat around 7:00. We made 5 stops for snorkeling, including turtle town. Breakfast (cinnamon roll and fresh fruit) and lunch (deli wrap, chips and drink) were included. Tour ended around 11. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to snorkel and see the West/Southwest side of Maui. read more

Another 5 star review, but these fellas truly deserve it. Our group of 6, composed of very experienced snorkelers as well as newbies, had a blast! I've never been on a snorkelling tour that offered wetsuits (unnecessary IMO but impressive regardless) as well as GoPro cameras for rent ($30 USD), and reef-safe sunscreen. Very classy. Oh, and prescription goggles, wow! Shawn & Seth were great fun, loved their humour, the little history lessons and their attention to detail. The breakfast was freshly baked cinnamon rolls & fresh fruit, and lunch was a delicious pasta salad and generous build-your-own sandwiches, nicely presented and there was food to spare. My only whinge is that water should have been offered at all times, although maybe that's strategic? (Keep yer chin high and let 'er fly, they say on the boat!) Sadly the coral is very stressed and most of it was dead or fluorescing. Molokini was really nothing to see for this reason, at least if one has a basis for comparison. Really heartbreaking, I'm kicking myself that I didn't go years earlier. The best stop was the last, still a graveyard of coral but lots of turtles, which lightened my heart a bit. Still recommended, and I love that the tour departed from Kihei and left for Molokini at 0700, thus beating the rush. The guides really made the day. Mahalo! read more
