Went there for the first time and was disappointed. Food was Ok but the tables are so close together that the negative environment overwhelmed the food. We were sat next to a table with two gentlemen that were so close to us and so loud that I couldn't hear my wife talk. There were other tables available that weren't so close together. I wish I had insisted that we were sat at one of them. We got through dinner as fast as we could, without talking to each other as we couldn't hear anything, got our check and left. Our meal was $100 and we had no drinks, only water. I understand that you need to charge a premium for food and drinks to make ends meet but cramming tables together to maximize income takes away from the experience. Had previously been to this place several times, and the food and service had been great. We were so disappointed when we saw the menu had been pared down to just a few dishes. Service was poor. Our waitress never mentioned the specials to us, and she seemed like she really didn't want to be there. I ordered the rigatoni, and it had no taste whatsoever. My husband's cesar salad was just ok, nothing to rave about. Our waitress, Amy, never asked if we wanted dessert. OMG! We had THE BEST dinner here last night.... The Halibut with white beans was a fabulous dish. My dining partners loved their filet and oysters. Onion soup was delish! I'm sad to say that this place has gone significantly downhill. My husband and I used to come in at least once a month for a date night, and the last three times we've been in have been very disappointing. We kept thinking they were having an off night, but this seems to be the new normal. They no longer offer a market fish special every night (they used to be soooo good), just a whole trout. I have no interest in ordering an entire plain trout. Portions have gotten smaller, quality has decreased, and the sourdough isn't as good as it used to be. The servers seem defeated when we ask about all of the changes. This place is not cheap (at all), so we will be going elsewhere until we hear things have turned around. read more

We discovered Reds Bistro in Loomis a few months ago. We were able to sit inside next to the fireplace. Shortly after the manager noticed that we were having a tough time talking to each other and turned the table so we could sit next to each other. Shortly after that we learned everyone's names and how they came into the restaurant business. Reds Bistro is a family run business and my wife and feel like family when we come there. The menu in small but, not dull. We look forward to what Reds Bistro has the offer in the future. I'm it will be exciting. read more

3 reviews 2 minutes ago I couldn't immediately place what was wrong when I walked into this charming, busy bistro until my 9 year old daughter and I were being seated by an unmasked man, a couple feet from multiple tables of unmasked customers -- indoors. This place looks amazing, and I would have loved to have eaten here if the staff had been masked and the restaurant had been conforming to the state mandate for limiting tables. When I asked about masks, the host (owner?manager?) said, "you're welcome to wear a mask" and when I asked if his staff wore masks he said no. People, were in a pandemic. This place, if it hasn't already happened, is a super-spreader in the works. read more

Before the incident, I would have given Red's a 3-star rating. The food was good (especially the bread and caesar salad), but the service was mediocre. My husband and I went to Red's on Friday June 3. We were seated in the velvet blue mini booths on the side of the restaurant. We ordered drinks, apps, and dinner. We were enjoying appetizers and having a great date night when I felt something on my foot. I kind of brushed it off. However, when I felt it for a second time, I put my leg out from under the table and a large sized black cockroach was walking up my leg. I immediately freaked out, stood up and shook it off. My husband immediately got down and started looking under the table, he wasn't sure what was going on. 3 employees came over and one asked me if I was okay. I said "a large cockroach was just walking on my leg, I swear I am not lying" (I do not know why I felt like I needed to justify this, the scene felt like a movie and I was immediately embarrassed thinking they would think I was making something up). The employee said "This is really common. It is the season for them. They are out right now. Happens all the time." She then got down looking under the booth as well. To which I replied, "I have never had a cockroach walk on me during dinner in my life, so that doesn't seem common." I then asked my husband to pay the bill so we could go home. I was astounded that they acted like I had overreacted. The bill finally came after what felt like forever and my husband paid. However, the employee came back over and said she just received confirmation that they could void the transaction (we did not ask for this). As I was walking out she said to my husband, "You know some people handle this better than others. Obviously, she didn't" I am not naive enough to believe that restaurants do not have to deal with cockroaches, mice, rats, etc. However, any restaurant I have ever been to has taken the responsibility of feeding people a little more seriously and found a way to not let this become a "common" occurrence. Additionally, when charging between 30-50$ an entree, a little more professionalism and customer service training would be expected. read more

Our new favorite weekly date night. The decor might be my favorite. The food is consistently spot on. Have yet to have a mediocre meal. Would be nice if they had a full bar but the wine selection is on or so probably best to not over complicate things with cocktails. Our favorite dinner spot! Red's Bistro accidentally became a regular spot for us. We happened upon it and popped in for a glass of wine and a quick bite and fell in love with the atmosphere. The staff, every one of them, is fantastic, friendly, attentive and makes our dining experience fun. We've never felt rushed or sat there needing anything. The host, Stephen, always welcomes us with a smile and makes sure we have what we need. Chef Paul is amazing and his menu is simple yet elegant. We've pretty much had everything on the menu and there's nothing we can't recommend. We do love the daily specials which have never disappointed us either. If you're going through Loomis, I highly recommend stopping by for a meal. You won't be disappointed. read more

We love having an upscale spot for dinner and drinks in Loomis. The menu is not extensive but everything they do, they do well. And I love that they keep it updated pretty regularly. It's not cheap but 110% worth it to have a gem like this downtown. Service is also excellent, which can be hard to find these days. read more

For dinner I had a special, steelhead trout with couscous, and it was delicious. They have a very nice Sauvignon Blanc. My server, Abby, was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Ok, I love their oysters at happy hour. Well worth it! Service is usually awesome. There is one waitress we absolutely loved however the last few times she's been rude and unfriendly and I wish I knew why. It'll most likely be my last time there because she makes it extremely uncomfortable. In the service industry I feel like you have to be a little easy going because you never know what your patrons are going though. Portions were extremely small (by any standards). We both left hungry. The greeters were condescending and rude. They placed us in the hallway next to the kitchen which made it hard for us to hear ( my mom is elderly). This occurred when there were a significant amount of tables available to seat us.
