A ramen shop with a rich, flavorful broth and a dark, romantic atmosphere, conveniently located right next to Universal Studios Hollywood. Their hours are incredibly generous, making it a perfect spot for anyone craving a hot bowl of ramen late at night. Although the broth was a little too rich for my personal taste, the great service, reasonable prices, and amazingly late hours more than made up for it. My friends and I were looking for a dinner spot on a Sunday night and unfortunately a lot of places closed by 9pm. We came across RedWhite on Yelp and saw that they were open until midnight. The restaurant is small and intimate and has a small parking lot. We were able to find street parking right in front. There were a few people dining when we got there. We ordered at the counter and the staff brought our food to our table. We tried the 3 sushi rolls, fried dumplings, and the Yuzu Sesame Ramen. The ramen was by far my favorite dish! It was delicious and flavorful! I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely visit again to try the other ramen options.
Service: was great, staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Ambiance: simple, dark and cozy. Food: didn't expect not to have any meat in the dishes but was it good. Enjoyed the sushi as well as the ramen! If you're semi-vegan then this is a must.
I enjoyed this spot! The ramen was pretty good but I wish the added spice option had a bigger kick. Nice people working here, you order up front then they bring you stuff to your table. It was a cute place too, dim lighting and pretty cute.
I had the red hot miso ramen and tried the roasted miso avocado roll. The roll was honestly disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it. But, I very much enjoyed my ramen. There was a decent amount of spice, broth had excellent flavor, and the noodles were fantastic. I also appreciated the use of arugula; it was a nice touch. Service was very fast. The restaurant was clean and had an upscale energy but the pricepoint was very fair for ramen. Overall reasonably satisfied.
Also a treat when I'm in LA. Can't EVER get enough when I'm here. I'm always daydreaming about my next return. Lovely service and calm atmosphere. Curry ramen is my fav as well as spicy miso avocado roll.
Food is just AMAZING !! Love the choices and taste of food ! The customer service was amazing !!! Excellent guidance to the order. The quality and the area is great. Parking space is better later at night. Inside is just perfect. Low lights dimmed out.
OMG... This place was amazing! My friend and I stopped in for a late night bite after a concert down the street. When you walk up to the business you can smell this wonderful smoke smell, but we had no idea it was cooking from this restaurant. We just wanted soup and this was the first place that popped up. We both ordered a ramen bowl. Prices seemed quite fair. They brought our food out and O..M..G..! What an amazing presentation. A bowl covered by a smoke filled dome was sat in front of each of us ! This looked and smelled amazing! We took the dome off and the wonderful smell of smoke waffed the air. Everything looked amazing! And the taste... Outstanding! We loved every slurp of it! The guy at the counter was so nice and we were so thankful to have come across this place. We will be back!!
A year later, I've returned several times and tried almost everything on their menu. The simplicity of their menu makes it easy to explore all the ramen options and quickly find your favorites. Hands down, my top picks are the Garlic Miso, Red Hot Miso and Truffle Salt (a bit salty, but the flavors are spot on). For a heavier ramen meal, the Yuzu Sesame Ramen (very dense with the yuzu flavor barely noticeable) and the Japanese Curry are delicious, though they don't have the same pop and layers of flavor as the others. The service is always friendly and the facility is exceptionaly clean. I still cant believe these rich, delicious flavors are completely vegan!

My vegan son said I had to join him for lunch at RedWhite Boneless Ramen in Studio City because, he continued, they've got the best vegan ramen in town, and, he added, it's so good that even I (not a vegan) would love it... and so I did. Chalk one up for the kid. The plant based broths (there are a few to choose from) are rich and flavorful, hearty and complex, just like the best, slowly steeped ramen broths you find made the traditional way. These chefs have managed to make veggies and miso keenly replace beef, pork and chicken. Well done! The noodles were fresh and chewy, and very flavorful unto themselves, while toppings like tofu, crispy onions, corn and arugula are bright and tasty and satisfying. I ordered the Red Hot Miso Ramen, which packed a nice punch without being too hot to handle. My son, who likes things milder, opted for the Yuzu Sesame Ramen; that had a creamier texture than mine, and the unmistakable flavor of yuzu really made the dish memorable. My son also ordered a side of Mac & Truffle... this was a somewhat standard vegan mac & cheese BUT the truffle flavor overrode what can often be an unpleasant after-taste of vegan cheese, making it a perfectly enjoyable side dish for anyone. When it comes to atmosphere, this is a simple affair. You order at the counter and pay (cards only, no cash), and they bring your food to you at one of a few tables. The servers were pleasant and helpful, and the food was prepared quickly. They have a number of other menu items, such as various vegan sushi rolls, which looked very interesting, and I'm sure we'll be back soon to test them out. One final thing: RedWhite is in the same little strip mall as Residuals and Sushi Dan, and locals know that parking here during peak times may be challenging, so plan accordingly.
Food was good - not great as some reviews set my expectations too high :) it was still very good- I would have liked the broth to be less thick- tried the spicy miso and Japanese curry. The dumplings and sushi rolls were awesome! I give it 4.5 as taste and presentation both excellent! Love that it is 100% vegan!! My husband said he couldn't believe the sushi was vegan! Service was fast and very friendly staff. Just a less thicker broth and you are my 5 start choice!!! Must visit if you are near Universal City!!

Solid vegan ramen. I did not expect it to be sooo deep in flavor. I had the yuzu sesame & my man had the red hot miso. He kept on going back to my yuzu sesame. He mentioned the flavor is so unique and addicting. I really like how it's well seasoned and not as salty nor bland. Really perfect. Service was quick and straight to the point. The service and ambiance were top tier. The lady who helped me was super sweet and helped me choose an entree that i'd enjoy. I ended up getting the spicy miso and the roasted miso avocado roll they have. Only giving four stars because the food was really ok. Not bad but not amaaaazing flavors for my taste palette the way I wanted. OMG I didn't realize this was a VEGAN ramen shop until long after I stopped by. I'm shooketh! Lol. So as I recently learned, the menu here at Redwhite Bonless is filled with creative plant-based ramen options. After perusing the menu, the Red Hot Miso called my name. Bring on the heat! The plant-based broth was rich and flavorful with a bit of a kick - nothing crazy, but then again, I'm a spicy food fiend ;) The ramen noodles were thick and chewy, and the portions were generous. Overall, the ramen was excellent, so much so that I still find it hard to believe it was vegan. Anyways, it definitely lived up to the hype. Note: Alot of ramen places crank the AC so that it's legitimately cold inside, for customers to enjoy ramen even in this heatwave. Sadly, this ramen shop doesn't do that - it was pretty warm inside. Let me tell you this Ramen place was far beyond my expectation. It was very intimate. The menu is straightforward but fancy the service was great me and my friend went and the server/hostess was super friendly and dealt with my friends joking, lol. Let me tell you the broth is amazing. The noodles are so buttery. The dynamic of this Ramen with different ingredients is delicious. I'd never thought I'd eat. I'm not sure if that is arugula? I don't know my vegetables, but it was fucking delicious. The little bean sprouts were thin and crunchy and fresh! Super good. The only thing that was kind of soggy was working in a small plaza with a lot of surrounding businesses but besides that you gotta go, try it it's delicious. I initially ordered takeout, but once I walked inside, I immediately wanted to stay. The ambience is so chic with the dimmed lighting-definitely a perfect spot for a cozy date night or a relaxed dinner. Carmen was incredibly kind and accommodating and let me sit inside to enjoy my to-go order, which I really appreciated. I ordered the garlic miso ramen with a bit of spicy sauce, and it was absolutely delicious and comforting. Carmen also checked in on me while I was eating to make sure everything was okay. She was very attentive and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great food, great vibes, and excellent service. I'll definitely be back! Also disclaimer I'm not a veggie/vegan hater and I did see the menu/reviews before coming Ordered: Original Miso Ramen Bowl: 3/5 I think honestly the arugula threw me off the most bc it is such a loud flavor. I thought it was nice bowl of ramen, noodle had a good chew on it. The the flavor or the toppings didn't stand out to me that much. Avocado Roll: 2/5 It looks so good, I wanted it to be good. Stopped by for lunch the other day with a friend. Parking was easy in the dedicated lot and we didn't have to wait for a table. You actually place and pay for your order first at the counter and then find seating. Water is self service but they do deliver your food to the table. My friend and I both tried the truffle ramen. The ramen comes with a dome of smoke which does infuse the ramen with some smoke flavoring but I didn't find it overwhelming. The smoke does get into your hair and linger a bit though. The broth was rich and the noodles are on the thicker side and have a nice chew to them. The ramen was definitely more flavorful than I was expecting for vegan ramen! I would be down to try the other flavors, particularly the spicy miso. read more

Man, that is some good goddamn ramen. The broth is solid and measures up to the hype. I think that's what they're known for and really, what good is ramen unless the broth is on point? I went for the Yuzu Sesame Ramen, and added a Roasted Miso Avocado Roll to round it out. Tasty, satisfying, and rich. All of it. The service was friendly and even though we came on a Saturday night, we got a table in 15 minutes which is impressive considering how small the shop is. Good food, a good crew, an overall good time. It's good. Really good, even. But I'm not sold on it being extra-fucking-phenomenal just yet. The smoke over the top is a fun trick. But in the end, I think it took away from some of the other players in the bowl. I enjoy smokey foods and drinks (Hello Mezcal and Laphroaig!) But in this case, the lingering smoke flavor dominated. I ordered the Yuzu Sesame because I LOVE yuzu. I make my own yuzu kosho, I keep dried organic yuzu peel on my spice rack, I drink yuzu sparkling water daily. My yuzu ramen, though? I couldn't find the yuzu flavor anywhere. My wife got the same ramen, without the smoke top, and hers didn't have much yuzu taste to it either. If a restaurant is going to have a yuzu flavored ANYTHING, I want to get that citrus-floral pop strong and up front. Also, it's a slight bummer that they don't have beer or wine available. I get it, those licenses are a pain. But as I understand it, beer/wine is much easier to manage than hard liquor. I like a sake flight when I'm getting ramen. Or a crisp beer. It's not a dealbreaker, but when a restaurant is open until 10 or 11 PM, it's nice to have that option. Look, I'm a fan. I like it. I need to do come back and try another flavor. Red Hot Miso, maybe. Or Truffle Salt. But I swear, if I get "Truffle Salt" and all I taste is smoke... Like I said though, I love the broth, and the noodles were perfect. Shoutout for being 100% vegan. It's sexy food in a trendy ramen shop, and I think people overall are going to love it. I still think Ramen Hood is the best vegan ramen in the LA area, though.. Pro tip: There's a bar in the same strip mall, probably 50 feet from their door to Redwhite's. We were able to grab a glass of wine there while waiting for our table. Parking is horrible so definitely look for street parking (I came on a Tuesday and found one empty spot around 8pm). The place was EXACTLY what I was looking for with a dark moody intimate setting perfect for a casual date night. Menu was small and simple and everything is vegan! Hands down the best flavored ramen I've had in LA so far and the smokiness added to the ramen was a new and interesting flavor to my palette! I found this place recently and was very excited to try considering its glowing reviews. And it was quite good! I got the No. 8 - Red Hot Miso. My nose was definitely dripping from the heat, haha, but not too spicy at all. The broth was VERY rich, which gives a nod to the word "boneless" in their name, as you wouldn't be able to tell this broth wasn't made with bones. The noodles were chewy and bouncy, perfect texture. I loved what they did with the tofu, it was in small pieces and a balance of soft and firm. My only complaint about the ramen, which knocked off a star, was the overpowering flavor of smoke in the broth. I don't know if it was related to the lid with the smoke they deliver it to you with, but once I got through all my noodles and was just drinking the broth, I couldn't keep eating it. I wished I could've because the other flavors were still fantastic, I just started to only taste smoke at a certain point and it became less appetizing. The spicy miso avocado roll was also very good! The avocado was really creamy and the yuzu sauce (I think) in the rice complimented it well. It looks smaller in photos than it does in person, it's a decent amount of food. The price is hard to justify for me a bit, but I think it's mostly worth it if you're splitting an 8 piece with someone else. Very very small restaurant with limited parking but there are options around. It's still got a nice, upscale sort of vibe going on. Best vegan ramen in LA and one of the best ramen I've ever had. I'm sure this will "wow" your omnivore friends too. Dimly lit, with an easy menu and great smokey presentation. 5 broths, 3 rolls and 3 Mac n cheese to pick from ... when do you see Mac n cheese at a ramen spot!?!?! I need to go back for that. The hot red miso packs flavor with a mild heat and the Yuzu brings a hint of citrus to the mix. Both broths were redonkulously DANKY and were presented covered with a clear dome, filled up with smoke. So cool, and a nice mild smoke flavor. The avocado is torched on their avocado roll and easily makes it one of the best ones I've had. Friendly service when you order, pick out a seat and they bring you your food. It has been a while since I've had a meal at a restaurant that was inspiring. That was until I visited REDWHITE last night. It was on my list of places to try for quite some time, and it exceeded every expectation I had. It is an unpretentious, chic without trying restaurant that I personally think has amazing energy. You order at the front and then take a seat for your food to be brought to you. It is vibey and calming inside and the staff working were all very nice and welcoming. These qualities alone make it a stand out restaurant, but the food is really out of this world. My husband and I got the garlic miso and red hot miso ramens with gluten-free noodles. There is no extra charge for the gf substitution, which is an added bonus. Both of the ramens have such dynamic flavor profiles. They are rich and creamy broths with delightful umami flavor. The ramen is also so incredibly nourishing. The ultimate comfort meal. We also shared a roasted miso avocado roll, and it definitely scratched the itch of sushi. Without a doubt we will be returning. As someone who normally needs pork chashu or some sort of protein to complete my ramen, this is one of the best, most flavorful and high quality ramen spots I've ever tried and I love the inclusions + variety they have. I've been there twice now because my friend that lives in LA adores Redwhite. The emphasis on vegetarian/vegan/gf options makes me feel like I'm keeping it healthy and getting fresh ingredients. The only thing I regret spending my money on was the $8 truffle mac (the flavor wasn't for me) but I had to try it just once cause I love mac & cheese. read more

Overall: 4.7/5 (dine in) This place is located right next to a smoke shop. It's a pretty small restaurant with a minimalist design. The food here is all vegan so it blows my mind how tasty everything was. We asked them to do the smoke down for ramen which was pretty cool to experience because you get to take off the top. Their soup ramen comes with soboro (soy meat & tofu), crispy onion, corn, arugula, and alfalfa. I can't believe how amazing this combination work. The only thing that could use some work is the soboro texture. It doesn't resemble ground meat as much as the broth is akin tonkatsu broth. No. 8 Red Hot Miso ($16.95): Delicious and spicy! The broth is full of umami and had so much depth. To think that this could be achieved with vegetables. I talked to the chef who said he believes there needs to be layers to the vegan broth in order to achieve umami. I 100% agree. I ate slowly and literally savored each bite. The noodles were one of the best I had. Perfect texture, bounciness, and taste. I finished the whole bowl but didn't feel heavy or get any uncomfortable bloating. I was so satisfied that I didn't crave anything for days. No. 5 Yuzu Sesame (16.95): How is this flavor even possible??!! Subtle Yuzu flavor but the broth was flavorful enough. Perfectly balanced bowl of heaven. Roasted Miso Avocado ($5.80): This was pretty good but not as amazing as everyone made it out to be. Mac & Beets ($8.80): They give a generous amount of crispy fried onions which is really what gives it flavor. The beet flavor is very subtle. It has the same texture and similar cheese taste as the Kraft boxed Mac & cheese. For the two appetizers, I feel like they're good to try once but for the ramen, they got me hook-line-and sinker. I was craving ramen since it was a cold windy night and felt a bit under the weather. I came across this establishment since they have gluten free ramen, which is rare for a lot of ramen restaurants. I placed the order and went to go pick it up. The location itself is in a small plaza, and I can see how it can be a problem to find parking when it's busy. It's right down Ventura Blvd., so I understand. I got lucky and found parking right away. Inside the decor and ambiance is very lovely! I was greeted and helped right away. The ramen was delicious! I ate all the broth and enjoyed the avocado rolls as well. Loved the crispy onions on both the roll and ramen. Can't wait to be back and dine in. read more

I love how this place is vegan but doesn't market itself as such. I hope that means that omnis will also be willing to try it. Located in a small-ish plaza, so you might struggle with parking depending on time of day. You order & pay at the counter at the same time. Then they bring the food to your table. We tried the No 8 red hot miso, No 3 Yuzu Sesame, and the Mac and truffle. The presentation is beautiful. Your ramen comes with a lid on top, so you get to unveil your ramen. A perfect shot for social media. Everything tasted delicious and the portion size filled me up. I'd return and would love to try other menu items. read more
